Also we were looking at paediatric wheelchairs because Barbie made new Chelsea wheelchair user dolls!! They so cute!!
[image description: black child doll with brown curly hair in a hot pink paediatric wheelchair. She has pink heart glasses on head. There some motion blur imply shes moving fast. End ID]
Kiku loves that barbies have more representation now. That is very cute ☺️

ableists, transableists, etc., & their supporters like 2 say that they “don’t (& can’t) understand why disabled people have issues with them using mobility aids, accessibility aids, disabled terms, etc.” & it’s like do they forget that disabled people have their aids stolen from them, by able-bodied people, all the time? our accessible parking spaces are taken from us & our access to public wheelchairs & our access to accessible bathroom stalls & our access to accessible drink/food-ware, all by people who don’t need to use them. people have been assaulting service dogs & their trainers since they started training dogs & even school’s force you to use a key to access the elevator & have a doctors note for water bottles, medication, mobility aids, stim toys, & backpacks, saying that kids will abuse the “privilege of using accessibility items.” a disabled person always needs to use those things. there is no “on or off switch.” accessibility is NOT a privilege, accessibility is a constant need. & able-bodied people are in the way of that constant, making it sometimes, making it inaccessible, when they find home in disability accessible spaces that they don’t need to be in to live.

The fight scene with Barbara in her wheelchair means everything to me.
Literally any other show (including shows that I love to death) - would treat a disabled character as weak because of their disability, but Titans fully embraced hers and says "she can and will kick ass while in a wheelchair".
It's literally one of the most empowering things I have ever seen.
