You know, since I watched, uh, eleven episodes in one go and I’m relatively eh on Dear Shine Sky, I skipped it pretty much every time.

I was expecting to watch everything through the final episode. Didn’t consider, though I probably should have, the possibility they would do like Healin’ Good, recognize they hit it so far out of the park with the first ending, and close on the original instead. (Well, with a mild difference. And if you need me, I’ll be picking up my fourth version of Hirogarism on iTunes.)

Yeah. This was a REALLY good finale, and the post-credits stinger with Sky performing the same kind of rescue that inspired her was perfect. Gonna miss you, Hero Girl.

LAURA QUEST CHAPTER 2 THOUGHTS

PLAY THE GAME IF YOU HAVENT YET AND YOUVE WATCHED TROPRE!!!! ITS ON ITCH.IO!!!!!!!!!!!! ALSO SPOILERS FOR BOTH!!!!!!!!!! playing @laura-quest chapter 2 and i heavily appreciate it bringing back the one time tropre decided sango should have sauce back in ep39

laura WOULD catch on immediately. that is if she wasnt already a manatsu liker right along WITH sango. laura quest is the only instance where this could occur. ANYWAY i did all the endings and while the first good ending is alright i REALLY enjoy the second one!! sango REALLY never got a moment to well. do anything. but she also never got a moment to get self confidence either, and the second good ending lets sango go off!!! i know tropre had to run with a reduced number of episodes so im not gonna hold THAT against it (it has other writing sins that im STILL salty over) (that laura quest is also trying to correct lets fucking go) but this is still i think one of the best fan-made precure things to ever drop!! cannot wait to see how things shake out when minori and asuka get brought into the fold!!! the playthru had me and @snowmareve (friend who i played it with) come up with "the chubby laura way" of doing things: be an asshole until it sticks. NOBODY does it like laura also the wheelchair concept that they only used for like 2 episodes before laura got legs being brought back is so peak my only gripe would be that theres some spelling and grammar mistakes sprinkled throughout. i was speaking out the dialogue out loud and i got caught on some of it sometimes. but its also kind of whatever OVERALL ITS STILL PEAK!!! IT WILL CONTINUE TO BE PEAK. i realize the team will probly be waiting a while to start chapter 3 but when it drops i will BE there

Last but not least...episode 46...the end...

NOW THIS...NOW THIS GOT ME EMOTIONAL.

I really like when the Leader Cure breaks down in moments like these. It shows that they're just young teens, not even old enough to be in high school. And having to lose someone close to you and all the things you were so USED to doing is going to be gone soon...? Its heartbreaking.

Manatsu supported Laura's goals throughout the whole season, wanting her to fulfill her dreams. She refused to let Laura second guess herself and what she wanted. But right here, in this moment, she didn't want her to go...to leave her and the wonderful times she had with Sango, Asuka, and Minori. And Laura thanked her, for being here for her and being a wonderful friend.

Later down the road, the very next day...

The girls' precure magic and the memories were taken away, including Laura's. However...

Fate had other plans for them as they used the clues from their past to regain their memories once more, so they'll never have to be apart again. THIS MADE ME SO HAPPY...I didn't want them to forget because they were SO CUTE!!

AND IN THE FINAL CREDITS IT SHOWED THE MINIONS HAVING NEW JOBS...THEY LOOK SO HAPPY NOW...

What surprised me though was no new introduction to the next cure! Now I'm twice as curious...!

Don’t imagine Laura trying to delay defeating the villains because she doesn’t want to forget her team. 

Don’t imagine Laura sneaking pictures with her team, writing down their times together, in case her memories are erased, so she can know this happened. 

Don’t imagine her not remembering where she hid these records. 

Don’t imagine her fighting as hard as she can, screaming and crying while being dragged to the machine. Don’t imagine her begging, trying to bribe, threaten, everything she can think of with her eyes red from crying. 

Don’t imagine her waking up and knowing something’s lost forever but not being able to figure out what. 

Don’t imagine those first few days without Laura. Don’t imagine Manatsu waking up and instinctively saying hi to Laura before remembering. Don’t imagine her doing her nails exactly how Cure La Mer had them, maybe even doing it only on one hand and holding her own hand in an attempt to feel like she still has Laura. 

Don’t imagine Manatsu staring out at the ocean, knowing Laura’s there somewhere, and that her first love was torn away from her and had her memories of her erased. 

Don’t imagine Minori suddenly thinking of a mermaid related question she didn’t get the chance to ask Laura and knowing she’ll probably never get the answer. 

Don’t imagine Asuka watching Minori, then Manatsu and Sango, as they finally go on that field trip they’d been so jealous of her chance to go on, and reminiscing on her experience, before suddenly realizing Laura doesn’t remember it. 

Don’t imagine Laura thinking back to her early teen years and noticing that it’s all a blur, wondering why this is, knowing full well that something important to her has been missing but never finding out the answer. 

Don’t imagine her sometimes seeing an energetic redheaded girl with a ponytail and green eyes in her dreams, waking up and wishing she could go back to the dream, but the more she thinks of it through the day, the harder it gets to remember what the girl looked like, what she was wearing, what they were doing together, until all she knows is she had a dream about a girl and they were happy together. 

Don’t imagine her eventually finding the pictures and the stuff she wrote down, but thinking the stuff she wrote down was fiction, and not having any clue who these girls are. 

Don’t imagine Manatsu at sea, right over where she remembers Gran Ocean was, screaming Laura’s name in the hopes that maybe she managed to change the system, maybe she still remembers her, and knowing it’s futile when she gets no answer. 

Don’t imagine her breaking down crying on the boat afterwards over the memories only she has and the future together they’ll never have.

This is a very good dynamic- if I were Aunete I would have immediately ran the OTHER DIRECTION OF THE HELLBEAST IN FRONT OF ME- But she was super sweet...

BUT OF COURSE ANGST CAME ROUND....Poor Aunete didn't even want to fight until she had to-! Cure Oasis is so pretty though (I can't believe Butler was a guard/knight...still a simp)...
