The Seven Golden Reminders for TSAMU 2013

Hi guys. So, tomorrow's our much awaited TSAMU 2013. And yes, all of us, your organizers and facilitators, are excited to see all of you tomorrow. I hope that you guys are also excited with what we have for everyone tomorrow. Well, here are some reminders for TSAMU 2013 so that we can both assure a great summer meetup experience. Of course, it's a give and take effort, and without everyone cooperating, then, it would not be fun. So, here goes:

Follow the instructions and cooperate. It is not just for the sake of the organizers and the facilitators, but for everyone. Imagine the whole meetup being wrecked up just because you did not follow the instructions. Imagine how you could make everyones' day a mess. So, better follow the instruction, or if you are not willing to, then we discourage you to come. Of course, We don't want to risk everyones' experience just because of some people who are too lazy to follow the instructions. So, it's a deal, okay?

Bring the essentials - writing materials, extra shirt, towel, paper, umbrella if you want, and an extra ten pesos for the venue. Trust us, you will need these things. It is better to be prepared than sorry, you know. Rain or shine, we will push through so you know what to do.

Come prepared. The meetup will be consisted of long exhausting activities so you guys better come prepared. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Take vitamins if you want. Be sure to have a good night sleep if you want. And yes, you better have eaten your lunch already before going to the meetup because we won't be having any breaks, but of course, you can also bring snacks and eat them during the activities. Just so you know guys.

We encourage you to tell your parents or guardians where you are going and what you are going to do. Of course, it's better to be a good child, if applicable. Haha.

Don't be late. The registration will open as early as 11:00 in the morning so that at exactly 11:15, we can already start the activity. So, you better come at 11:00 in the morning so you can register asap and prep yourself. We won't wait anyone, whoever you are, even organizers and facilitators. Well, it's not just because we don't want to, it's just we're more concerned with the people who exerted much effort to come in  time and follow the instructions well. Plus, the activities are continuous and interrelated, so  you better not come late or you will miss a huge chunk of the meetup experience.

Everyone must join the activities. We are struggling for equality there so you guys better join the activities and interact with each other, or just don't come at all, I suggest. But, if ever you have some ailments or the like or some valid reason, please do tell us. We have a countermeasure for you guys so that the experience will not be spoiled for you guys. Of course, we love all of you.

And lastly, forget about the "wala naman akong kasama sa meet-up," and "baka ma-op lang ako." If I still got it correct, we all made a truce that "walang mang-o-op at walang magpapa-op" on the earlier months of the meetup's announcement. In the first place, the essence of a meetup is meeting up new people. Well, bonding up with the friends you've known from the previous meetups is secondary because you can bond with them anytime you want. So, tomorrow, in essence, you must get out of your circles and meet new friends. There are a whole lot of awesome people out there like you guys and I know you don't want to lose the opportunity to meet them. Don't stick with your circle of friends anymore, because, like what I said, you can already hang out with them anytime, anywhere that you guys want. So, tomorrow, it will also be better if you won't wait for anyone to approach you, but instead, approach them. Have fun. I always believe that it is our own personal fault why we enjoy or don't enjoy the company of other people, and even a meetup.

Some Insights for TSAMU2013

Only 16 days left before TSAMU 2013 and yes, we are as excited as you guys. We have finally secured the venue and also finished conducting a dry-run of the games. Basically, it is already good to go, but of course, we want it to be one of your best summer experiences so we just can't stay put and be contented with it as for the moment. Of course, we want it bigger and better for you guys. But, for that to happened, we, of course, also need your cooperation. So, here are some tips to enjoy and meet a lot of friends at TSAMU 2013.

Don't forget what you ought to bring. Water, money, food, extra shirt and towel will really come in handy. Or should I say, vital things you need for the meet-up because it will be a long interactive day.

Make friends. Remember that a meet-up is an avenue where you can meet a lot of friends. Don't be shy. Just like you, maybe they are also shy. And besides, try talking to everyone, perhaps they also want to do that.

Remove the "hindi ako famous" connotation. Famous or not, you are a blogger who expresses your self, and yes, you are one of the reasons why we have TSAMU2013. You interact with people not because of the labels that you have but because you want to be one with the whole blogging family.

Follow the guidelines. Well, it's not because we are being bossy and that we just want you to do this or not do that, but it is because we want to give the best possible experience for everyone. When we give instructions, listen. When we start the events, participate. It is not for us but it is for everyone's sake.

Untangle some friendly bonds just for that moment. I know that you guys already have your clicks of friends or your own Tumblr family, and yes, it is not our problem if other people don't have their own circle of friend. But if we continue to be like that, then we would just be limiting our self to a group of people that we already know, and that we will not grow as bloggers who are getting exposed with different personalities, ideas and people. So, get out of your comfort zone and interact with strangers. Who knows.

Enjoy. Don't get too stiff and speechless because you are shy. Remember, loosen up a little and talk with people. You don't go there, expending fares and energy and time, just to stand up and talk to no one. Make your travel to TSAMU2013 all worth it as you bond with people.

"Walang ma-o-op kung walang mag-papa-op at walang ma-o-op." So, it is not just a one way interaction. Of course, people should be open in making new friends, but that is not enough. They must also do some effort in meeting and knowing some new friends. Remember, saying that you want new friends is totally different from giving efforts to have new friends. Like love, saying I love you is different from making someone feel that you love them. Or whatever.

TSAMU2013 is just 16 days from now, so better mark your calendar and start your countdown. On May 24, 11:00 a.m. at the Kanlungan ng Sining, Luneta Park, Manila, experience what a true summer meet-up is all about.

An Open Letter to All TSAMU 2013 Attendees

Dear all of you,

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for the support that they have given to TSAMU 2013. Without you guys - attendees and participants, organizers and facilitators - this meetup will be good for nothing. Our efforts for this meetup are all inspired by our vision to make this meetup an enjoyable venue where people can meet new friends and learn that there are many awesome people in Tumblr.

And yes, even though my throat or tonsils or whatever you call it are quite rough right now, and some blisters, and some shaky legs, and some sleep deprivation because of the excitement and all, I regret nothing because by just seeing all of you happy after the meetup is all worth it. I am also glad that a lot of first timers had a great time, and that many found new friends.

Lastly, I have learned that no matter what we do, as long as we love doing it, we would never get tired. It is not organizing meetups that I love but the fact of bringing people closer together, letting them interact and talk and make friends, is what I will never get tired of doing.

Yesterday had been a very long and exhausting day for all of us, and that we got tired and some achy body, but at least, we learned and we grew up in our own little ways. I am really happy for all of you, guys, seriously.

Yes, for TSAMU 2013! I love all of you.

TSAMU 2013 was so dumb useless for famous people.

Being in TSAMU 2013 was so nice. I appreciated all the efforts of the organizers to produce an explicit meet up like that. I was just discouraged when I saw other bloggers who are so called "famous" that didn't participate. I don't want to mention names but they do know who they are. The organizers keep calling them but they were so deaf that they couldn't hear it. They were like having their own world in the TSAMU. Relaxing. It was so disappointing but ofcourse we shouldn't mind them at all. We should just enjoy it. Anyway it's their lost.

I don't know if I should be telling this, but I am freaking emotional right now and I am almost in the verge of my tears. Or no, I am already crying. It has been a pretty long tiring day for all of us, and I never expected anything after it, but after I opened my blog and read all the posts and the messages and tags and everything, my heart popped up. I feel both blessed and thankful at the same time. All those kind words, and gratitude. You know guys, you should not be thanking me for anything because I just did what I ought to did. Instead, I should be the one thanking all of you. I am tired and crying right now but I am really really really happy right now. It had been a long time since I had a good cry out of something good. Okay, I am always the cry baby at these kinds of things. Again, thank you very much. Thank you.
