After compiling the voting from both the SSSS Fan Forum and tumblr, we have our Round 1 results!

Notoros v Troll House - a resounding victory for the little ankle-biters (along with any fOoD they can get) - 41 to 5 - the largest margin.

FloorTroll v Handsy Moose - 9 to 32, a 'handy' victory?

Leaftroll v Hilja - a toughie - 19 v 24. Closer than you reckon - the Forum result declared Leaftroll the winner.  4-5 more votes were likely cast after the poll officially closed (whoops, your humble mod thought the polling locked off after the deadline, but not so on the FF site polls), throwing the margin into doubt. On tumblr, Hilja won by one vote, so it looks like it Hilja got this one past the sentry.  But, the mod has the last say, so let's throw them BOTH back in for another round!

Tooth Scary v Surma - 26 to 18 - while our ugly ceiling lurker won easily in the Forum result, it was much closer in the tumblr poll, which had Surma taking the lead until a late surge of support and a one-vote margin for Tooth Scary.

Tuomas the Tank Engine v The Swan of Tuonela - 10 to 39, no contest there

Sleipnope v Bladderbarbies - 38 v 8, carnage as far as those little eyes on stalks can see.

Pastor Anne v Kokko - 28 to 21 - another nail-biter in the tumblr result, with the lead shifting a few times but this time it was Pastor Anne provided the baked goods, for the win.

The Dream Sea Serpent v Speedy McSplorp - 32 to 9 - while the acid-pustule troll made a big splash, it was barely a ripple to our big nasty.

Järvelä, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

these are my versions of a Finnish wizarding school set around the HP timeline and in reference are the pictures, so NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT, also the pics are made by mo___ong with AI and not by me!

Järvelä is located in North Pole of Finland, founded by four founding fathers, Oliver Pohjola (Karhuisat - Bearies)

Vilhelmina Aalto (Tupöllöt - Snowls)

Tuomas Koskela (Porokaiset - Reindeersies)

and Iines Salmi (Joutsenokat - Swanbeakers)

All four lived in harmony, working together to better their school and teach new witches and wizards. As the years ticked by, they hired more teachers and one of them showed great leadership, wisdom and courage, so the four decided to hire him as the Headmaster, Professor Santeri Klaus.

The groundskeeper Tapani "Tapsa" Kokko, lives in his own cabin in the border of the school grounds. He watches over and takes care of the school, inside and outside. A quiet type, yet warm and friendly to the students.

Not far from Järvelä, lies a quiet little village called Rovankylä, where the students can visit all kinds of shops for witches and wizards. Only students from 4th year and up can visit the village, without supervision or parental permission.

Järvelä is glad to host exchange students from other wizarding schools and to send their students to other schools aswell, to gain experience, to see how other schools work, what they teach and what similarities and differences the schools have between them. One thing is for sure -- They all enjoy Quidditch.

so i got inspired by these PICS i saw on TT and came up with two new muses! one will be one of the founding fathers and one will be a student. i'm posting this, so i can put a link to this post on their bios and thus won't need to type everything again and again. and it's easier for people to know, see and understand where they come from. so all the credit for the pics goes to mo___ong on TT! i just came up with the names and all that other stuff.

Am 7. Juli erscheint die vierte Platte Dream Alive der finnischen Power Metal Band Excalion bei Scarlet Records. Bereits jetzt haben die Finnen ein Lyric Video zu Divergent Falling veröffentlicht. Die Plattenfirma der Band meint zur Veröffentlichung folgendes;

Skein All Set To Release 2nd Album Of Deadweight

Released in September 22nd 2017, "Deadweight" is the second album of the Finnish metal band Skein. Assembled with the invaluable help of producer Tuomas Kokko (Ghost Brigade, Swallow the Sun, Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus), the album moves dynamically across different soudscapes, reaching from crushingly heavy guitar riffs to more etheric, atmospheric parts.

Unlike their debut album "Of Wings Unfolding", which was a concept album with a strong narrative and a storyline (strenghtened by a novel published alongside the physical copy) the songs on "Deadweight" stand on their own. Delivered with both screaming and clean vocals, the songs explore issues from misuse of power and societal responsibility to basic human characteristics, with very personal experiences. Due the rawness and personal approach, the album is the strongest emotional outburst of Skein's career.

Skein biography:

Formed in 2004 in Tampere, Finland, Skein has focused on its own blend of atmospheric metal with fierce determination and perseverance.

Before their second album "Deadweight" (2017), the band released their debut album "Of Wings Unfolding" in 2014. The concept album was accompanied by a novel depicting the story behind the music and received positive feedback from media and fans alike. Band's discography consists also of three EPs ("Children of Light" in 2012, "The Key I-III" in 2011 and self-titled debut EP in 2005), as well as a digitally released single "Rapier" (2016). Tampere-based SKEIN has been tenaciously focusing on its own blend of metal and released the debut full-length album "Of Wings Unfolding" in 2014. The band has also released a digital single "Rapier", published with music video in the beginning of 2016.
