Album Review: Verilehto - Kuoleman Siipien Havina (Inverse Records)
As black as the void between worlds.
Finnish black metal band Verilehto is set to release their debut album ‘Kuoleman Siipien Havina’ on November 10th, 2023, via Inverse Records. As black as the void between worlds, Verilehto draws from the hateful and horrible sound of their black metal predecessors but infuse an emphatic level of atmosphere and melody into their sound to freshen it up. The end result is a delightful encapsulation…

REVIEW: Finland's BLADE "Joker And Clown" On Inverse Records
Finland’s BLADE are an interesting band that seem to have several dimensions to their sound. At their core they’re playing Melodic Hard Rock, but they have the ability to switch gears from song to song to take the listener on an journey that keeps you guessing. Perhaps the closest comparisons I can come up with is UK’s THUNDER, who can rock it out but also get quite serious as well. BLADE does…

Finnish metal band Autumn's Grief is set to release their second studio album Dead By The Dawn on December 9th 2022 via Inverse Records. The first single The Tide is released today.
Tumblr media
Autumn's Grief is a Finnish metal band that combines the elements from soundtrack music, melodic metal, symphonic metal and doom metal. The band was formed in 2021 by Santtu Rosén (Dead End Finland, Ex-Dying Daylight), Ville Skön (Willie Dangerr, Ex-Dying Daylight) and Noora Virtanen (Tulio, Musta Orkidea). Santtu and Ville had worked closely together in their previous band Dying Daylight. After some years of both concentrating on their own bands and projects, they started to once again make songs together on spring 2020. Noora found their music on the internet by coincidence in the beginning of the year 2021 and asked them the permission to try to do the vocals into one of their songs. After that new songs just began to emerge one after another and the debut album was ready in a blink of an eye. Since all of the three musicians wanted to continue making music together, they decided to form a band in May 2021.
Tumblr media
Autumn's Grief released their first single “The Oblivion” on June 2021 followed by the releases of the singles “The Dead Don't Smile” and “The Thorn in My Side". The band released their debut album “The Dead Don't Smile” as a digital version independently on October 2021. The album received positive feedback amongst the media and fans around the World.   On spring 2022 Autumn's Grief made an agreement with Inverse Records about the digital distribution and marketing of their second album.

I'm in the middle of playing BN2 and recently finished the Netopia section (also boy howdy it was a wild ride I could not stop hollering). These are broken-up pieces of the conversation-- by memory-- where Lan and Hub make up from their previous argument.
I was mainly paying attention to Hub's attitude during this. Especially with the line where he feels it was fair for him to get jumped after Lan left him alone, I couldn't help but just go awwww (sad).

I’m just wondering but how did Akira Toriyama influence Slayers? While I am aware it was inspired greatly D&D in terms of everything, same with Record of Lodess War, but I wonder if both of those series at least has an element in there that was inspired by his works.

My gut tells me that Dragon Slave, Lina’s iconic spell, was inspired by the Kamehameha, which is Goku’s most recognizable attack.

Album Review: Enchantya - Cerberus (Inverse Records)
Enchantya have been working hard to crack the ceiling and with Cerberus, they’re really sending tremors through it.
Portuguese symphonic gothic metal band Enchantya is set to release their third studio album Cerberus on April 28th, 2023, via Inverse Records. An ambitious epic from the symphonic metal band, Enchantya continue to impress in a genre where fresh and interesting bands fail to rise to the level dominated by a handful of legends. Enchantya have been working hard to crack the ceiling and with…

The rule-bending songwriting and the caressing grooves emerge from casual jamming and a strong friendship. Somehow Jo from Tampere, Finland brings a new perspective to two guitar riffing combined with interesting rhythms and catchy melodies. Dozens of medias across the globe have compared the band to their mighty ancestors System Of A to Down, Mastodon and Alter Bridge. Somehow Jo shows the joy of playing live with a smile that can be seen to the back row and the whole band rises to a new level every time they step on stage
Tumblr media
Sakari Karjalainen (Guitar) and Christian Saurén (Guitar, Vocals) formed Somehow Jo in 2009 and the band got its final shape in 2013, when Lassi Peiponen (Drums) and Eero Aaltonen (Bass, Vocals) joined the band. The debut album sought style and the promise of musical chemistry was already in the air. The album was recorded with Ari Pietilä at Headline Studio and released in 2015 through Inverse Records. The final track of the album featured Noora Louhimo from Battle Beast.
Tumblr media
The musical chemistry began to work even tighter on the Tusk -album and the recording took place at Deep Noise Studio with Saku Moilanen. Several new elements were introduced to the album such as keyboards, slap riffs and a touch of musical humor. The album was released in 2019 and received magnificent reviews across the globe.
Tumblr media
After the release of the album, Somehow Jo started touring with their swedish comrades Machinae Supremacy. Following successful gigs, The Grey was released as a single after the record in the spring of 2020 and the song made it to several playlists on Spotify and is still on peoples ears worldwide.
