after finally being able to relisten to it, #35 caught fits:

- the naming scheme

- the fact Dedf1sh’s music reflects inner emotions (the titles and energy of her music back this)

- AND it serves as a warning to the player. In the song you can hear what sounds like a distorted Mr. Grizz’s laugh

bonus: Octoplush follows the naming of Turquoise October’s japanese name, “OCTOTOOL” so i think its safe to say octoplush is fuzzied turquoise october

Omitted songs are the boss fight themes, and the "onward" songs, due to their inclusion in previous polls. I'll take the winners of a few polls and put them together sometime.

So all music in splatoon is diegetic.

The only possible exceptions being victory themes and considering how much they are referenced (fly octo fly is built on the Thang collection theme) I believe they are likely diegetic too

WHO THE FUCK MADE THE ALTERNIA MUSIC

Multiple tracks incorporate squid vocals so they cannot be ancient human songs and nobody has been down there for a long time (excluding grizz)

The possible options are

1. ORCA made them (I do not like this option)

2. They are made by Grizzco Industries (despite the low production quality of happy little workers and the like [and there’s no way mr grizz budgets anything if even the bare minimum for music])

3. Turquoise October got mammalized and work for grizz, and between the time of splatoon 2 and 3 they made all the songs (also compelling because Octoling Rendezvous plays in 2 levels)

4. There is a new band we know literally nothing about

And the best part about this is that we know nothing until they either release Splatune 3 or decide to randomly publish it in Japanese and a fan decides to translate it.
