How to fix the ugly ass background in your gifs. A tutorial by Sam (withloveresources)

To view the differences click on the gifs individually. I’m aware that when they are small and condensed you can’t see much change.

First off I should mention I’m using PS 2020 on my Macbook Pro. So how I have to save gifs is through the ‘save for web’ option.

So you’re going to want to go through your normal routine of making gifs all the way to the end where you go to save it. I was messing around with the options and ended up with the proper solution apparently because when I tried the gif again it worked.

the key things you should change are: interlaced to OFF and I switched my quality from bicubic strong to the simple bicubic.

How to work around GD’s download error

I woke up this morning to a message from a lovely person trying to download some of my caps stating that they had received an error, I went to try and download it myself and received the message above but fear not I know a work around!

Step one: Sign into your google account

Step two: In the address bar you’re going to look at the link and change the “uc” part to “open”

Step three: up at the top left you’ll see a new icon “add a shortcut to new drive” click it and add the download to the drive

Step four: go to the googledrive website. In the files you’ll see the download, right click and copy the file.

Step five: Click on your newly copied file (it must be the copied file) as if to open it. Then go up to the top right and hit the download button, it’ll ask if you want to download anyway even if it can’t be scanned for virus’ to which you will say yes.

I received a request for how I managed to get a google docs-esque highlight beneath the words in my new character page that looks like this:

First you want to find the part of your code that you want to apply the function too. For me, in the page I wanted it to be on the "titles" and the "verses".

Then you want to add in everything highlighted. If you want to change the colour of the "highlight" you can do so by changing the hexcode (#43a2c8) after the rgba area.

If you want to change the size of the "highlight" change the percent (55%) shown. The higher you go in the value IE 95% the smaller the line becomes.

My personal favourite & helpful things that I use during coding.

z-index:######################!important;

this basically ensures that whichever you put this on will show up on top. IE if I had a title over a png, the z-index would ensure it is laying on top.

iframe, img, embed, object, video { max-width: 100%; }

this ensures your images show in their entirety, not distorted or half cut off.
