TVS has started selling the Apache RTR 160 Race Edition in India. The bike is priced at Rs 79,715 for the front disc variant and Rs 82,044 for the front and rear disc variant (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Race Edition only sports aesthetic changes. The bike is only available in white colour with red graphics – a colour scheme that is exclusive to this edition. TVS Apache RTR 160 Latest News:-
New 2018 TVS Apache RTR 160 Launched
It has been a long time coming, but it is finally here. TVS has now launched the new-generation Apache RTR 160 to compete Suzuki Gixxer, Honda CB Hornet and the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160.
Since the time of its launch almost a decade back, TVS hasn’t quite updated the Apache RTR 160. With premium commuters now graduating to the 160cc category, it would have been hard for TVS to ignore the segment for long. The company has now introduced the new-generation RTR 160 at Rs. 81,490 (carburetted version) and Rs. 89,990 (FI version) (ex-showroom Delhi). This new model demands about Rs. 3000 more than its predecessor. Fuel injection wasn’t offered on the outgoing model,  in fact, even today, no other manufacturer offers it in this class.
TVS Apache RTR 160 and 180 get a matte red colour option
Both these colour variants are priced marginally higher than their respective standard models
It seems like offering matte colour options has become a trend in the two-wheeler market. Just a few months back, Suzuki and Bajaj brought in matte colour options for the Access 125 and the Dominar respectively. Now, TVS has introduced a matte red option for the popular Apache RTR 160 as well as the RTR 180. The Hosur-based company has priced them at Rs 77,865 and Rs 81,833 respectively. This essentially means that the matte red option of both these motorcycles is Rs 1000 more than the standard colour trims.
New TVS Apache RTR 160 launch on March 14
The refreshed TVS Apache RTR 160 will take design inspiration from its bigger sibling, the Apache RTR 200 4v..
After launching the Apache RR 310 and the NTorq 125, TVS seems to be on a roll these days. The company is not showing any signs of slowing down, as it’ll continue its offensive with the launch of another new product on March 14, 2018. As of now, TVS hasn’t divulged details of the upcoming two-wheeler, but it’s very likely going to be the new Apache RTR 160.
Over the past few months, the refreshed version of the RTR 160 has been spied upon being tested on public roads.

Mopeds are a great way to travel, especially in a country like India where downtime is not an option. TVS Motor is leading the way with the reliable, affordable and versatile TVS XL100, one of India's best bulbs. Since motorcycle lights are often used heavily, it is important to keep them safe every day.
A light motorcycle is a two-wheeled vehicle that is powered by an internal combustion engine and has a wide range of motion. Regular maintenance is essential to ensure proper operation without malfunctions. Here are some moped maintenance tips to ensure a long and trouble-free life of your XL100, one of the best mopeds in India:-
1) Regular maintenance
Most OEMs recommend mopeds every 3000 service miles. This includes changing the engine oil, changing the air filter at each service, and daily maintenance. Spark plugs should be replaced every year depending on use. Glue should also be added when necessary. In general, the price and maintenance of light motorcycles in India also seem cheap.
2) Check tire pressure and tire health
Tires are an important part of every bike. Follow OEM recommendations for adequate tires on your moped. Remember that when the temperature drops, tire pressure will also drop. According to research, for every 10°C drop, the pressure decreases by 1-2 PSI. Tires generally retain pressure longer in the summer. In fact, the Cavaliers often found this height higher than expected. This is a basic rule in science; thermal expansion and cold contraction.
For tire safety, make sure your tires have adequate tread profile. A pair of tires will not only affect braking, but will also affect handling. Tires with good tread are important for safety, especially in rainy seasons.
3) Battery Health
Battery health is the foundation of every ICE motorcycle, whether it is an old or new moped. Without the battery the engine will not fire. Finally, a routine battery check is necessary. Check the terminals for leaks or carbon deposits as these can cause loss of power and drain the battery faster.
4) Keep it clean
Keeping your new moped clean doesn't necessarily mean washing it every week. Water, whether from a bucket or a well, can damage your moped's bearings and other electronic components. In this case, even the metal surface is susceptible to corrosion. Washing your moped once a month is sufficient. For better cleaning and better performance, dust with a dry cloth, then wipe the face with a wet cloth. After cleaning your moped, park it away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
Mopeds are easy to control. Just take a few precautions to keep your moped in good working order. For more Information Visit our Shelar TVS Showroom in Pune. We are TVS Dealer in pune

Motorcycles come in all shapes and sizes, so there’s something to suit your riding style. Just like motorcycles, their engines can have different capacities and configurations. The higher the displacement of the motorcycle, the more cylinders it requires for better operation. Although most motorcycles are powered by a single-cylinder engine, they can also have engines with up to four cylinders. But in India, single-cylinder engines are the most popular and account for over 90% of all motorcycles on the road. After two-cylinder engines, three-cylinder and four-cylinder engines are rare. Since single-cylinder and twin-cylinder engines are the most common, let’s understand what these engines actually are and what their advantages and disadvantages are.
Single and Twin Cylinder Engines – Learn the basics
The difference between the two engines is the number of cylinders. Since the twin bike has one more cylinder, there is one more piston and everything that goes into it. Because of all these extra parts, the cylinder head is more difficult and often more expensive to manufacture. Also, although this is not a general rule, low-speed bikes usually use a single-cylinder engine, while larger machines use a twin-cylinder engine.
Single cylinder engines are easy to build and have many advantages. However, the piston and other components are heavy for their size compared to their cubic capacity. Additionally, when the piston moves inside the cylinder, it creates a force that is often unbalanced and can cause vibration if left uncontrolled. Good motorcycle manufacturers can eliminate this defect by using heavy-duty products. These weights, or additional weights used to prevent engine misalignment, are usually located at the end of the connecting rod that connects to the piston. Logs with this index are called parallel logs. Another way to eliminate vibration in a single-cylinder engine is to use rubber mounts where the engine is bolted to the frame, but this method does not appear to add counterweight. Rubber mounts absorb most of the vibration emitted by the engine and reduce the vibration felt by the driver, but they cannot eliminate the vibration of its parts like a fire truck’s electrics.
On the other hand, the twin-cylinder engine is equally good. Twin-cylinder engines are available in various configurations such as racing twin, V-twin, L-twin or boxer twin. In addition to the engine layout, there is also a shooting range that can vary from 90 degrees to 360 degrees. Twin-cylinder engines have better balance than single-cylinder engines, and some configurations, such as the twin-cylinder engine, also known as a twin-cylinder engine, are balanced mainly because there is no conflict to present themselves. This makes a twin-cylinder engine more efficient and free-riding than a single-cylinder engine.
On the other hand, when single-cylinder engines do not have the highest rpm, their long stroke and heavy power force them to produce good torque and be at the higher end of the rpm spectrum. . The same goes for the low end, making them very usable and tractable at low and mid revs.
A single-cylinder engine produces more power in the lower rev range, while a twin-cylinder engine produces more power in the rev range but the torque delivered at the bottom end is compromised. This makes single-cylinder bikes suitable for use as ADVs, dirt bikes, bicycles, and any applications that require more power and speed at low rpm. On the other hand, a twin-cylinder engine is better for racing, where lighter parts must use more power to lift the load and start moving but ultimately provide better performance in competition.
Both single and twin engines can be modified to suit their specifications, but most of the two types are linear and user-friendly in terms of electrical transmission. Single-cylinder engines are more powerful at low to medium revs, while twin-cylinder engines are more efficient at mid to high revs.
Two-cylinder and twin-cylinder engines have their own advantages and quirks that are characteristic of the power of the motorcycle. To choose the right engine configuration, it is important to understand the motorcycle’s usage data and needs. For urban use, or even city and highway use, a high-performance roller would be the best choice, especially on a limited budget. If you are willing to spend more money, a bike using a twin-cylinder engine will be better in terms of good performance.
