Advantages of Launching an Uber for house cleaning platform for your Business
Tumblr media
The on-demand business is growing rapidly, and one business ripe for upheaval is home cleaning. Imagine an app that links busy homeowners with dependable house cleaning providers in the same way that Uber connects riders and drivers. This "Uber for house cleaning" idea provides an array of benefits for businesses seeking to capitalize on this increasing trend.
Here's why building an Uber for house cleaning platform is a good idea for your business:
Low Overhead Costs: Rent, equipment, and staffing are all major expenditures for brick-and-mortar cleaning services. An on-demand Uber for house cleaning platform works virtually, which reduces administrative expenses. You supply a digital platform (app, website) that links customers with house cleaners, reducing the need for physical facilities and costly management of employees.
Effortless Scalability: Your platform can grow along with your business. On boarding more house cleaners and recruiting a larger customer base become simple. There is no reason to invest in more office space or equipment. The platform grows effortlessly to meet increasing demand.
Healthy Profit Margins: Your revenue stream is based on a commission or service fee charged for every house cleaning service booked through your site. This direct-to-consumer strategy results in high-profit margins without the overhead of managing a big workforce or keeping physical inventory.
Flexibility Reigns Supreme: The outstanding feature of this Uber for house cleaning app resides in its adaptability for customers and house cleaners. Customers can schedule cleanings whenever they want, while house cleaners have complete control over their work schedule and workload. This win-win structure encourages loyal users on both sides of the platform.
Tech-Savvy Convenience: In today's digital age, comfort is paramount. An on-demand house cleaning schedule app is ideal for meeting this need. Customers can set up appointments, manage requests, and review house cleaners all through an easy-to-use house cleaning service app. This simplifies the entire procedure and provides a hassle-free experience for everybody concerned.
Building a Strong Brand: You can build a good reputation by offering a valuable service that makes people's lives easier. Customers will value the dependability, ease, and transparency provided by your platform. Positive word-of-mouth and online feedback will strengthen your brand's standing in the market.
Conclusion:
Launching an Uber for house cleaning platform is a smart move that puts your business to profit from the on-demand service revolution. With low overhead expenses, scalability, and an emphasis on customer comfort, this business plan provides a route to long-term development and success. When I was tour planning I really had three days worth of tour bus worthy itineraries in a row… but a combined ~30 hours on a tour bus seemed like it was pushing it a little bit and I like doing things more independently too, so I decided to venture out on our own at least for part of the day for one of our main attractions, a visit to Culloden battlefield, and booked a half day tour for a boat trip to look for Nessie on Loch Ness!
Turned out I should have sucked it up and done a third full day bus tour. I should have known better but we did make it work and it was fine- but would have done the same itinerary cheaper and easier on a full day tour 😂
my first mistake was that it is a Sunday and unbeknownst to me, the bus that goes directly from the city center of Inverness to the Culloden battlefield museum was not scheduled to run on a Sunday. I realized this in the morning before we left, so we decided to get breakfast and then get an Uber to the battlefield- about a 15 minute drive. Grey enjoyed a more relaxed start to the day, getting some pancakes and bacon. I’ve been eating breakfast provided by our landlady; she left instant porridge, cereal, and yogurt, milk and eggs for us to eat breakfast in the air bnb! And enjoying my Starbucks Via of course. well uber didn’t pan out; while Uber exists in Inverness, it Just started and there weren’t any drivers available. tried to sign up for a taxi app, it was a no go because you had to have a UK phone number to book one. And same thing with booking the taxi on their website. Luckily grey realized we were eating breakfast directly across the street from the taxi depot so we walked in and told the guy we wanted a taxi to Culloden and it was super easy.
Our taxi driver was a garrulous Eastern European man who was a lot of fun, joking about how if Culloden battle had gone differently then it would be required for all men visiting Scotland to wear kilts and joking that the people of Scotland don’t know what the sun is. Dropped us off and we bought a ticket for the museum and tour of the battlefield at Culloden.
Culloden was the site of the last major battle fought on British soil in April 1746. the supporters of the Stuart claim to the throne, including Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobites, made their last stand against the government in power, the Hanovers and King George and the Duke of Cumberland. The Jacobites lost the battle (1500 men died in less than an hour total battle), and then as a consequence, the Scottish culture (wearing kilts, playing bagpipes, speaking Gaelic, etc) was prohibited and the culture of Scotland was forever changed. It was a very nicely done museum, taking about an hour to walk through and then a 40 minute walking tour of the battlefield itself. The museum had two sides of the hallway throughout, one side telling the Jacobite side and one side telling the Government side. There was a movie room with projectors showing the view from all angles of the Culloden moor and how the battle went.
The tour walked out on the battlefield and went into more detail about where the people actually were standing, putting it into a cool context, and then the future consequences of the battle. The leader of the Jacobites, Bonnie Prince Charlie, escaped from hiding by disguising himself as a lady’s maid and getting on a ship out of Scotland.
Our tour guide was also named Chloe and she was Australian.
Then we grabbed a bite to eat from the cafe at the museum. We enjoyed a Culloden beer and a hot sausage roll and potato leek soup. we planned to save some money and try to take the bus back to Inverness, but again, the convenient bus stop was not running because it was a Sunday. It seemed like a less convenient bus would work but it required like a 30 minute walk to the nearby town, so we set out to walk. It was a nice walk through a wooded path beside the road and then past farms and into the cute village of Balloch; but as I was walking I realized that my backup bus option was Also closed on Sundays. The backup backup bus option was running on Sundays but only once hourly and waiting would mean we missed the bus to Loch Ness 😬 So I was getting stressed about how to get back to Inverness because while I had the phone number for the taxi company I couldn’t figure out the address for any of the houses we were passing 😂 another 17 minute walk away ( we had already walked 35 minutes at this point) was the Balloch village town hall which had an easily findable address. So I called the taxi depot and dispatched a taxi to meet us at the town hall and then we speed walked over there to meet the taxi, grey unbothered and me stressing about the idea of missing the Loch Ness cruise. But we made it to the taxi without further incident and then arrived back to Inverness like an hour before we needed to be back. Stupid public transportation! And honestly, we did have a lovely walk. Also our 50 minute walk saved a grand total of £3 😂
Once we made it back to Inverness (with plenary of time to spare. Like an hour lolol) we sat at the river again for a while before coming to our bus, which took us to an hour long cruise of Loch Ness, an hour to explore the ruins of Urquhart Castle, and an hour scenic drive through the mountains on the way back to Inverness. I thought the tour bus drivers on the previous two days had a lot of fun facts, but this woman Linda did not cease speaking for the entire time we were on the bus. She knew the broader historical facts about the cities and scenery, but seemingly also had a fun fact to share about every single house, farm, and restaurant we drove past. I’m not sure how she even had time to breathe she talked so much 😂
She dropped us off at Dochgarroch, where we boarded the boat for our tour of Loch Ness. We sailed something like 23 miles over our hour long ride and it was magical. We have been driving past plenty of similar views, but not all the waterways we have been seeing are navigable by boat. the water at Loch Ness is about 700 ft deep at its deepest. According to the boat captain, the water in Loch Ness is 42 degrees year round; it never freezes over or gets any warmer. There also is no visibility whatsoever; the water is black from the peaty soil of the loch, and while people have tried to take submarines down to search for Nessie, you have no visibility at all after about 6 feet down. We learned about the variety of societies and organizations that have been devoted to finding Nessie or disproving Nessie. Out on the loch with the cold Windle blowing off the water, an eerie mist surrounding us from the incoming rain, it was easy to feel an unsettling chill in the air: no wonder people felt they saw things in the water 😂 it did eventually start to rain, coming down in big raindrops that immediately proved that my rain coat was more water resistant than water proof, and getting us both fairly wet. the majority of people who had started the cruise sitting upstairs with us enjoying the view and breeze moved downstairs to the indoor part of the boat. grey and I scooted under an overhang where we could enjoy the view without getting wet. The “Highlander hot chocolates” we both enjoyed , which had a generous addition of whisky, definitely helped us warm up from the chill!
Once we landed at Urquhart castle, the light continued rain seemed the idyllic way to spend the afternoon traipsing around the stone ruins of a castle in the Scottish Highlands. the old outlines of the walls are the only thing left from the castle built in the 13th century with various additions through the years, but some parts you could still climb to the top or take a peek down into the dungeons. Par for the course I about wiped out slipping on the wet stone but no injuries except my dignity. It was funny to watch people sheltering from the rain in castle walls built 700 years ago, and think how many other people have sheltered from the rain in that time.
we made it back to Inverness after another solid hour of fun facts from Linda the bus driver. I had been reading about some options for our last night in Inverness, and one option was the Uile-bheist distillery. They have tours, and we were considering this until we learned more and realized it is a brand new distillery; they are still in the process of aging their whisky to be good to drink. The tour walks you through the history of creating the distillery and you can taste some of their blends they have crafted with other distilleries whiskies. Maybe next time we visit Inverness haha. The other option, which I was worried wouldn’t quite work out, is called the Malt Room. It is a tiny little bar seating only about 15-20 people, with an astounding collection of over 350 whiskies. however, our timing on this was PERFECT! We walked in just as someone was leaving and were able to grab a sofa. We each did a tasting of three whiskies. Greys was called “Island Life” and was Scapa 16 year, Talisker 18 year, and Ledaig 18 year. mine was called the CHOCOLATE flight: a match made in heaven! And it was a pairing of three whiskies each with an associated locally made chocolate from a fancy chocolatier! I was in heaven it was delicious. And what do you know, your bourbon girl actually does like Scotch! (Especially paired with chocolate! And not any of the Scotches Grey likes lolol) also, in an absolute MIRACLE of miracles, my sense of smell came back just in time for this tasting 😭 scotch has a sort of toffee smell that is very dissimilar to bourbon, along with of course the peaty smell on the peatier ones. I asked grey to describe his tasting to me so I could put it on this post but really all I could get out of him was that the Talisker 18 is now his top Scotch he has ever tried (that is Distilled on Skye! I had the Talisker 10 year yesterday. It was not my favorite ever though). Of my three scotches, I liked the Oban 14 year best (paired with a dark chocolate caramel truffle) and also enjoyed the Kilchoman Sanaig (paired with a cappuccino chocolate swirl). I was not much of a fan of the Tomatin 14 (paired with a chocolate with a red currant filling). Grey and I had fun touring Tomatin, but ultimately neither of us liked the flavors of their whisky. I actually liked the Oban 14 even when I wasn’t pairing it with the chocolate.
After our tasting, we ducked next store into the associated whisky shop and enjoyed chatting with the proprietor. Grey bought two bottles; one, he was chatting with another customer and we overheard the story. During a bottling, A distiller accidentally mixed Macallan 12 year- which is like a 80-90 dollar bottle of scotch with other 6 year blends that he was mixing, basically ruining the batch. But someone enterprising decided to bottle and sell that mistake and grey had to buy it when he heard the background 😂 and then grey also bought a store pick that the proprietor did at the Talisker distillery, of “Old Particular”. Grey was such a fan of the other Talisker! So looks like I’m gonna have to visit Denver to try greys Scotch haha.
We finished off the night with a Turkish restaurant where we by far had the most delicious meal of our trip! Lamb kebabs, couscous and pilaf, it was incredible. Made it back to the air bnb and again immediately went to bed! Another incredible day in Scotland- and we are going to be sad to leave Inverness! Such a great base for our exploration of the region.

How can you build an On-demand Marketplace App in React Native?
Tumblr media
On-demand marketplace applications have revolutionized various industries by providing a platform that instantly connects buyers and sellers, enabling quick transactions, and that too, with a few finger clicks. The concept of an on-demand marketplace app has gained momentum in recent years due to the convenience it offers. The whopping success of solutions like Task Rabbit, Merry Maids, Urban Company, Urban Stems, Timesaverz, Rinse, Uber, Airbnb, DoorDash, Instacart, TaskRabbit, and Postmates indicates the high market demand for the on-demand marketplace model.
Needless to say, the on-demand marketplace model has become a lucrative business idea for entrepreneurs to consider. This post guides you through the methodology of developing an on-demand marketplace app with React Native. We have picked React Native as it’s one of the most preferred cross-platform frameworks for mobile app development.
What is an On-demand Marketplace Model and how does it work?
On-demand Marketplace App
It is a mobile app that connects buyers and sellers or service providers, facilitating hassle-free transactions. App users can either avail of or provide various goods or services. It’s a platform where users can access a wide range of offerings, typically in real-time, and request immediate services or delivery.
Such applications come with a diverse range of products or services from multiple vendors or service providers, giving users a wide selection to choose from. Users also get up-to-date information on product or service availability and can view the current inventory, service availability, or the estimated time of delivery. This ensures transparency and helps customers make informed decisions.
Tumblr media
The Functioning of an On-demand Marketplace App
On-demand marketplace app offers to users, different product or service categories such as food delivery, home services, transportation, beauty and wellness, pet care, and more. They can view the available options, compare prices, read reviews or ratings, and select the desired item or service.
Once a user makes a selection, the app facilitates the transaction and coordinates the delivery or service provision. Payment is usually done through the app itself, making the process more convenient and secure. On the seller's side, they can manage their offerings, accept or decline requests, and fulfill orders through the app.
Tumblr media
On-demand Marketplace App Development: Key Features
When developing an on-demand marketplace app, it's important to consider the key features that will enhance the user experience and provide value to both service providers and customers.
Basic Features
User Registration and Profiles: Users should be able to create accounts and set up profiles with relevant information such as contact details, payment preferences, and service preferences.
Advanced Search and Filters: Offer robust search functionality with advanced filters to allow users to find specific products, services, or providers based on parameters such as location, price range, ratings, availability, and more. Advanced search and filters enhance the UX and help users discover relevant options quickly.
Service Listings: Enable service providers to create detailed listings for their services, including descriptions, prices, availability, photos, and any additional relevant information required.
Booking and Scheduling: Provide a seamless booking process that allows users to schedule services at their preferred date and time. Send reminders and notifications to both service providers and customers.
Reviews and Ratings: Include a rating and review system that allows users to provide feedback and rate their experience with sellers or service providers available on the platform. This feature helps build trust and credibility within the marketplace and assists other users in making informed decisions.
In-App Messaging: Facilitate communication between service providers and customers through an in-app messaging system. Real-time messaging allows users to discuss product details, negotiate prices, and clarify any doubts or concerns directly within the app before they proceed to book the product or service.
Payment Gateway Integration: Integrate a secure and reliable payment gateway to enable seamless transactions between service providers and customers. Support multiple payment methods and ensure that users’ financial information is protected.
Real-Time Tracking: Implement real-time tracking system for services that require physical presence, such as deliveries or home services. This way, users can track the progress of their orders or services in real-time and also the location of the service provider.
Push Notifications: Send push notifications to users for various events, such as booking confirmations, reminders, order status updates, and special offers, discounts, or promotions. This keeps users engaged and informed about important events and encourages them to use the app more frequently.
Customer Support: Offer a dedicated customer support system through various channels like chat, email, or phone. The system should allow users to seek assistance, report issues, and receive prompt responses to their queries or concerns.
Geolocation: Utilize GPS technology for identifying users’ locations and provide relevant services or product recommendations. You can utilize Geolocation to display service providers or sellers within users’ close vicinity, estimate delivery times, and optimize route planning.
Analytics and Insights: Implement analytics tools that will gather data on user behavior, transaction patterns, popular categories, and other relevant metrics. This data will help service providers obtain insights regarding their performance, customer feedback, booking history, and other relevant data to help them improve their services. Based on these insights app administrators can make informed decisions, optimize the platform, and provide a better UX to end customers.
Social Media Integration: Enable users to connect their social media accounts for sharing their experiences, recommending services, and engaging with the platform's community.
Remember, these features serve as a starting point. You may need to tailor them as per the nature of your on-demand marketplace or add additional functionalities to meet specific requirements.
Advanced Features
To enhance user experience, here are some examples of advanced features that you can include in your on-demand marketplace platform.
Detailed User Profiles: Enable users to create detailed profiles with additional information such as location, preferences, ratings, reviews, and past transaction history. This helps build a layer of trust between buyers and sellers and makes way for personalized recommendations.
Contact Number Masking
This feature allows a user to make in-app calls without their phone number being disclosed. This approach aims to protect the privacy of users while facilitating communication between buyers and sellers. It works by providing an intermediary phone number that acts as a bridge between both parties.
Voice Commands and Chatbots
Voice commands and chatbots can greatly enhance the user experience in an on-demandmarketplace platform by providing quick and convenient ways for users to interact with the platform. For instance, voice commands enable users to navigate through the platform using speech commands without the need for typing the command. Chatbots help users easily get information on any topic.
Multi-language and Multi-currency Support: The support for multiple languages and currencies will allow you to cater to a diverse user base and enhance your online visibility. This feature enables users from different regions to use the app comfortably and conduct transactions in their preferred language and currency.
Remember that the specific features required for an on-demand marketplace app may differ based on the target audience, industry, and unique requirements of the platform. As such, you must conduct thorough research and user testing to determine the most valuable and relevant features to include.
How to build a React Native Marketplace App?
Building an on-demand marketplace app using React Native involves several steps. Here are the key steps of the process:
Defining the Scope
Determine the specific features and functionality you want to include in your React Native marketplace app. Consider aspects like user registration, profiles, listings, search, bookings, payments, reviews, and notifications.
Setting up the Developer Environment
Here are the steps to follow for setting up the development environment for developing an on-demand marketplace app using React Native:
Step#1: Install Node.js and npm
Node.js is essential for React Native development. Install node.js from their official website and download the most recent Long-Term-Support (LTS) version that suits your OS. This installation process also includes Node Package Manager commonly called npm. You’ll need npm for managing dependencies.
Step#2: Install the React Native CLI
For installing React Native CLI (Command Line Interface), run this command in your command prop or terminal-
npm install -g react-native-cli
Step#3: Test Environment Set Up
For creating the test environment, you need to set up an emulator or connect a physical device. If you’re using a physical device, connect the device to your computer with a USB cable and ensure that USB debugging is enabled. If you prefer an emulator, you can use Android Studio (for Android development) or Xcode (for iOS development) for configuring it.
Step#4: Create a New React Native Project
In your terminal or command prompt, navigate to the directory where you wish to create your project. With this command, create a new React Native project:
npx react-native init MyMarketplaceApp
This will create a new directory named “MyMarketplaceApp” and set up the basic structure of a React Native project.
Step#5: Install Extra Dependencies
Run this command inside your project directory for installing the necessary dependencies.
cd MyMarketplaceApp
npm install react-navigation react-native-gesture-handler react-native-reanimated react-native-screens
These packages are commonly used for navigation and animations in React Native apps.
Step#6: Link Native Dependencies
Certain packages that you’ve installed in the previous step may require extra native code linking. To link these dependencies, run the command: npx react-native link
Step#7: Start the Development Server
Run this command for starting the metro bundler that will bundle the JavaScript code of your app.
npx react-native start
Keep the window of this terminal open as the development server needs to be running while you’re working on the app.
Step#8: Run the app on your Device or Emulator
Open another terminal or command prompt window, navigate to your project directory, and run one of the following commands based on your target platform:
For Android:
npx react-native run-android
For iOS:
npx react-native run-ios
This command will build your app and deploy it to the connected emulator or physical device.
Step#9: Code and iterate
With the development server running and the app deployed, you can start coding your marketplace app. Open your project directory in a code editor of your choice and modify the necessary files (usually in the “./src” directory) to implement the desired functionality.
Step#10: Reload the App
As you make changes to your code, you can reload the app for viewing the updates. In the emulator, you can press “R” or “RR” on your keyboard, or use the "Reload" option in the developer menu. On a physical device, you can shake the device to access the developer menu and choose the "Reload" option.
The aforesaid steps should help you set up a basic development environment for building an on-demand marketplace app with React Native.
Designing the App
Decide on the features and functionalities you plan to include in your app. Create wireframes or mockups to visualize the application's screens and user flows. Decide on the overall architecture and components required for your React Native marketplace app.
Configuring the Backend
Choose a backend technology stack best suited to your requirements (e.g., Node.js with Express, Firebase, etc.). Implement user authentication and authorization. Design the database schema to store user profiles, listings, transactions, etc., and configure APIs for handling data retrieval and manipulation.
Implementing UI Components
Create the necessary screens and components for your app's UI. Consider using popular UI libraries like React Navigation for navigation between screens and UI frameworks like NativeBase or React Native Elements for pre-built UI components. Make sure you create a consistent UI across the app. Implement reusable UI components like forms, buttons, cards, etc. Use styling techniques (CSS-in-JS, inline styles, or stylesheets) for customizing the app's appearance.
Implementing Features
Set up user registration and login functionality. You can use Firebase Authentication or a similar service for this purpose. This step involves creating the necessary screens, forms, and backend logic to handle user authentication. Thereafter, create screens that users can use for browsing and searching for listings. Implement filters and sorting options. Design the UI to display listings effectively and include relevant information.
Implement the ability for users to book services or products. For this, you need to build screens for booking details, date/time selection, and payment integration. It’s advisable to use a payment gateway like Stripe or PayPal for securely handling transactions.
Design screens where users can submit reviews and display them on the relevant listings. For implementing push notifications, you can use a service like Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
Testing and Debugging
Thoroughly test your React Native on-demand marketplace app for bugs and usability issues. For example, perform unit tests and integration tests to check whether the individual features and components are functioning as expected. Employ debugging tools like the React Native debugger for identifying issues and fixing them. Also, carry out manual testing on various devices and screen sizes to ensure responsiveness.
Deployment
Prepare your app for deployment to app stores. Generate release builds for Android or/and iOS. Follow the documentation provided by Apple for the App Store and Google for the Play Store for generating the necessary app certificates, bundle identifiers, and store listings. Then, publish your app to the respective app stores.
Monetizing Strategies for the On-demand Marketplace Model
Take a look at some of the standard monetizing models the app owner can employ to generate revenue from an on-demand marketplace solution.
Commission Charges
One of the primary revenue streams for on-demand marketplace apps is charging a commission fee for each transaction executed through the platform. For example, a food delivery app may charge a percentage of the order value from restaurants or delivery partners.
Service Fees
You can charge service fees to customers for using your marketplace platform. For instance, a ride-hailing app may charge customers a service fee for each completed ride.
Subscription Plans
Some platforms offer subscription plans to customers, providing additional benefits or perks in exchange for a recurring fee. These plans often include benefits like discounted prices, free deliveries, or priority access to services.
Advertisements and Promotions
Partnering with businesses and allowing them to advertise or promote their products and services on the platform is another revenue generation stream. This can involve displaying sponsored listings, targeted advertisements, or featuring certain businesses prominently.
Premium Listings or Featured Placements
The app can offer premium listings or featured placements to businesses that are willing to pay an additional fee. This allows them to stand out from competitors and gain more visibility on the platform, potentially leading to increased customer engagement and sales.
It's important to note that not all on-demand marketplace apps use the same revenue models. Some platforms may implement a combination of these strategies. Pick the revenue streams based on the nature of the app, its target audience, and the industry it operates in.
In Conclusion
Marketplace apps are highly beneficial for service providers as well as service seekers. As an entrepreneur, all you need to do is build a platform that will connect users belonging to these two categories.
However, the process of developing a fully functional on-demand marketplace app with React Native is a complex task. Your app should have a smooth and intuitive user experience with easy navigation, quick search options, and user-friendly interfaces. It should be designed to make it effortless for users to find what they need and complete transactions efficiently.
Achieving the best results requires a strong understanding of React Native, backend development, and integration with various third-party services. Moreover, it's recommended to break down the development process into smaller tasks and tackle them one at a time. Additionally, you may need to seek further resources, tutorials, or documentation for specific aspects of your app's functionality. Here, you may consider hiring professional help, preferably from an experienced React Native app development company, to ensure productive outcomes.

Hey can you do an everlark fake dating please🥺🥺
Anon, I’m sure you were looking for something a little more romantic than what I came up with. There is romance, but there’s some other stuff too.
Thank you for inspiring this four-parter. I hope you enjoy!
_____
Summary: Peeta needed a date for his brother’s wedding. His co-worker Katniss was more than willing to play along. Sometimes, simple favors can turn into so much more. A fake dating story done in four parts. Rated E. Definitely NSFW.
A Simple Favor
The Invite
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.”
Peeta gawked at the frilly invitation in his grasp, then at the attached list of activities.
Three days.
Three fucking days of wedding activities to torture him.
“Can we tone down the cursing?” Katniss, his co-worker, sat down at her desk adjacent to his. “This is a place of business.”
“You wouldn’t be saying that if you had to go to this.”
Peeta swiveled his chair, tossing the invitation onto Katniss’ desk. It landed smoothly atop her keyboard and she reached to read the perfect calligraphy print announcing the upcoming nuptials of Rye Mellark to Delly Cartwright.
She turned back to Peeta. “Yeah…so?”
“Look who’s the Maid of Honor.”
Katniss looked to the right part of the invitation which listed the wedding party.
Her grey eyes suddenly shot up at him. “Oh, holy fuck! Is that her?”
“Yeah. It’s hard to look at her name and not still see her sucking off my best friend.”
Katniss snorted. “Yeah—that’s not an image even I would likely forget.” She examined the invitation again. “Gawd, even her name is pretty. Madge Undersee.”
“Don’t remind me,” Peeta growled, yanking the invitation from her grasp. “Who plans three days of pre-wedding activities?”
“Your brother and his affianced, apparently.” Katniss gave him a sympathetic smile. “You think she’ll bring him?”
“According to my brother, they’re officially together now.”
Peeta never used to be this bitter.
However, two years ago, that irrevocably changed when he discovered his then-fiancée on her knees and giving his best friend a blowie—on his bed. Madge had wept, of course, telling him that it had just happened.
And Gale…he had begged for Peeta to understand that it wasn’t just sex…that he felt something more for Madge.
How the hell was he supposed to understand that?
Peeta had packed his things and immediately left the apartment that he and his best friend had been living in—let the fucker deal with the astronomical Bay Area rent on his own.
He then accepted a job at Panem Projects, a Brooklyn based start-up created by tech mogul Haymitch Abernathy. The uber-genius had invented an app that allowed you to search for specific non-profits and charities that one may be interested in contributing to.
On Peeta’s first day, he met Katniss Everdeen, who was part of the QA department he was in. She was a supervisor while he was just one of the lowly engineers.
They had been sitting across from one another ever since.
“That sucks.” Katniss sat back, crossing her legs, as she watched him carefully. “Did you want to get wasted after work?”
++++++
It was at their fifth round of shots that the idea came about.
“I can’t go to this.” Peeta held the invitation, now beer-stained and being used as a coaster for their peanut bowl. “It’s basically a three-day Peeta Mellark roast!”
“Yeah, and a wedding,” Katniss replied. She leaned forward, her cheeks warmed from booze. “You know what you need? A date to this God-awful event. Not just any date, a hot date.”
“Here’s the problem, sweetheart,” he replied. “I’m not dating anyone.”
“It doesn’t have to be a real date,” she reasoned. “Find a great-looking chick who’d be willing to spend three days looking like she worships your cock. Isn’t this what those dating apps are for?”
“I don’t want a stranger around my family!” He reached for the beer bottle in front of him—was this even his? “That’s how those Netflix crime specials come about.”
Katniss chuckled. “Okay. Understandable.” She met his glazed stare. “I’ll do it.”
“What?”
“I said I’ll go with you,” Katniss declared. “I’ll be your hot date.”
Peeta took a long swig. “Uh…no offense Katniss…you’re definitely pretty…but hot?”
“I have been known to dress up once in a while.”
He looked at his friend; her dark hair was in its usual braid and she wore a pair of fitted jeans along with a zip-up with the Panem Projects logo on it—some sort of fiery bird. On her feet were a pair of Converses that had seen better days.
“You’re really know how to make a girl feel desired,” Katniss told him. “I can’t think of any possible reason why Madge would dump you.”
“Hey now! That’s hitting below the belt!”
“Well, you don’t think I can be hot!” she retorted. “Give me your phone!”
Peeta, in fear of his life, pulled out his phone from the pocket of his jeans and handed it to the woman.
Katniss picked up the invitation with her free hand and started to type with the other.
“Katniss…Motherfucking…Everdeen…” She handed the phone back to him. “I’ve RSVP’d for you and added myself as your plus one.”
He looked at the browser window and then back at a smirking Katniss.
“You actually wrote ‘Katniss Motherfucking Everdeen’ as my date’s name.” Peeta had to smile. “My mother is going to love that.”
“She’s going to love me,” Katniss assured him. “She and everyone else at this wedding is going to forget who the hell Madge Undersee is after I’m done with them.”
Peeta had to ask. “Why are you doing this?”
“I know how it feels to be taken by surprise.” She was suddenly staring very hard at the dirty bar table they sat at. “Plus, you’re my friend and we take care of each of other.” Her eyes met his, her own looking like she was on the verge of breaking. “Right?”
Peeta reached over and squeezed her hand. “Right.”
++++++
“Okay, so I have prepared a portfolio of myself.” Katniss presented him with a closed folder. “Childhood photos…likes and dislikes…just some general information that a boyfriend should know.”
“34C?” Peeta eyed her doubtfully, briefly flitting to her white button down. “Are you sure?”
“Yes. You bought me a lovely dark green lingerie set for our last anniversary.” Katniss pulled out a piece of paper. “Here is a little questionnaire that I’ve made for you, just for me to know you a little better.”
Peeta skimmed over the questions. Most of them were pretty general; where he was born, his parents’ and his brother’s name as well as their ages, his favorite foods…then—
“Why do you need to know if I’m circumcised?”
“If we have supposedly been together for about six months, shouldn’t we be having sex by now?” she questioned.
“True.” Peeta looked around the room. “Is it okay that we’re using a meeting room for this?”
Katniss shrugged. “The guys in IT use this room to play Pokémon every Friday.”
“Also, when are you going to do something about…” He waved his hand out at today’s outfit: a pair of black slacks, a white button down, and brown loafers. “…that.”
“Don’t you worry your perfect little blond self.” Katniss playfully ruffled his hair. “I didn’t realize that you were so fixated on looks.”
“You were the one who suggested ‘hot’,” he pointed out. “However, my parents, who are generally good people, can sometimes be judgmental. So besides being very smart and extremely accomplished—we’re going to have to show them how great you are on the outside.”
“Peeta, do my looks matter to you?” she suddenly asked. “I mean, do you think that I’m pretty?”
Katniss wasn’t what people would call conventionally beautiful.
Her hair was a single shade of black which could be a bit-frizzy on humid days, and her complexion was sun-kissed with a sprinkle of freckles on her cheeks. However, Peeta saw deep grey eyes that sparkled when she was particularly excited about something (pushing a new feature on their app, for example) and full rose-colored lips that needed no lipstick.
And when she smiled, everything about her just lit up.
“I think you’re beautiful,” he said truthfully. “I do worry that the people at this wedding won’t see you the way I see you.”
“Then that’s their fucking problem, isn’t it?” Katniss smiled gently. “We just have to make this look real. I think we can do this.” She pushed a pen towards him. “Now, fill your questionnaire out, okay?”
“Alright.” He reached for the pen and his eyes went to her. “Katniss?”
“Yes?”
“Thank you.”

Two Weeks Later…
“Sister—Primrose…24…a nurse in Seattle…Mom…Kate…former teacher…Dad…Marcus…former General in the Army….”
As he waited for Katniss’ Uber to arrive, Peeta went through the flashcards that he and Katniss had created in order to get through the three days leading up to his brother’s wedding.
They had everything from their first date (a Harry Potter trivia night at a bar close to their office) to any distinguishable body marks (him—a scar on his knee from falling off his bike at 12 and her—surprisingly, a scar just above her left butt cheek from a tattoo removal procedure, though she wouldn’t tell him what the tattoo was).
“Peeta?”
He had been so distracted that he didn’t even hear the car pull up.
“Sorry.” He tucked the cards in his back pocket and lifted his eyes to greet her. “Hey…holy shit.”
This was not Katniss Everdeen.
Katniss Everdeen didn’t wear her dark hair down in smooth waves that framed a perfect heart-shaped face. She didn’t wear sleeveless black jumpsuits that revealed rich olive skin and plush breasts (she was definitely a 34C).
“You like?”
She did a little twirl for him, graceful despite the stilettos she wore.
And, Katniss definitely didn’t have an ass that made his mouth water.
The unbidden thought of biting into one of those full globes caused his cock to twitch in his now too tight jeans.
“I like.” Peeta gave her a smile. “Maybe a little too much.”
She looked triumphant. “Give you a boner?”
“Fuck yeah,” he replied, a tad breathless.
“Then I’ve done my job.” Katniss wrapped her arms around his neck. “Hello boyfriend.”
Her mouth covered his own and his arms encircled her waist, pulling her tightly against his body. She teased, nipping at his bottom lip, her tongue skimming his lips before pulling away. Something surged inside him and his tongue invaded her mouth, sweeping in to taste sweetness.
Katniss growled against him, her center pressing into his now definitely hard cock.
Reluctantly—because they had to either breathe or die during the world’s hottest kiss—they pulled apart.
“Why did you do that?” he asked, gasping for breath.
“Because we’re supposed to be in love.” Her chest heaved, her eyes just cooling down from their kiss. “And couples in love kiss like that.”
“I know no couples who kiss like that,” he told her, a smile unexpectedly forming on his lips. “But feel free to kiss me like that whenever you see fit.”
++++++
During their five-hour flight, they went over the wedding itinerary.
“I’ve had a stylist pull looks for us for all the fancier events,” Katniss explained. “Don’t worry, nothing looks like we’re trying too hard. We’ll be more complimentary to one another.”
“What would trying too hard look like?” Peeta asked curiously.
“Well, if your tie matched my dress for example.”
A flight attendant stopped in front of their seats. “What can I get you both?”
Katniss smiled, placing a hand on his shoulder. “He will have…” Her fingers brushed against his ear lobe and he couldn’t help but shiver in pleasure. “…a cup of chamomile tea. I will have a coffee—”
“With milk and two sugars,” he breathed out, trying to smile up at the attendant.
“Thanks baby,” Katniss cooed at him, her hand brushing through his hair affectionately.
The woman quickly fixed their drinks, handing their cups to them one by one.
“Can I just say that you too are extremely adorable?” the flight attendant remarked.
Katniss put a hand to her chest.
“Thank you!” She looked to Peeta; her expression full of affection. “He’s just so easy to love.”
Peeta smiled tightly. “This is my dream girl…” He patted Katniss’ hand. “…right here.”
The flight attendant practically squealed before going to the next seats.
“You really could be a little bit more convincing,” Katniss remarked. “Maybe act like my touch doesn’t repulse you.”
“You don’t!” He shifted towards her. “In fact, it’s really the opposite.”
Katniss rested back against her seat. “Really?” She crossed her arms. “Convince me.”
Peeta unbuckled his seatbelt. Pressing the release button of the armrest, he pushed it up so there was no divider between them.
Katniss waited, obviously interested in what he was up to. He realized that their tray tables covered anything below the waist and his mouth widened in a grin.
“Tell me.” His hand went to her thigh. “What exactly are you wearing under this?” The fabric beneath his palm was smooth and he could feel a full firm thigh. He continued upwards towards the cleft between her thighs. “Are you even wearing underwear?”
Katniss’ arms fell to her side and she swallowed thickly. “I am.”
“And, if my hand found its way between your thighs—” His hand stopped just about an inch from her center and she let out a labored breath. “—if my fingers brushed against this practically non-existent cloth, would I find you wet?”
“Maybe,” she whispered.
Peeta leaned forward, his mouth going to her ear.
“Would you let me put my fingers to your clit? Let me rub you until you came all over this seat?” His pressed his mouth to the spot behind her ear and she shivered. “You’d like that, wouldn’t you? You’d happily fill this cabin with the smell of sex if I fingered you into completion—”
“Stop—” Katniss gasped out, her hand covering the hand on her thigh. “I’m convinced.”
“Good.”
Peeta moved his hand away—but not before quickly brushing the tips of his fingers at her center. The feeling of heat had him hard immediately.
“You’re far from repulsive, Katniss.” He met her heated stare. “I’ve always thought that.”
Katniss snorted. “Yeah, right.”
Peeta took her hand, placing it to where his erection demanded to be freed.
“Believe me,” he demanded, and her fingers moved against the rough fabric of his jeans. “This is because of you. Yeah, it’s extremely hot to see you in this get-up, but what makes me hard is that look in your eyes.”
Katniss licked her lips. “What look?”
“That fire,” he told her, his thumb caressing the top of her hand. “That fire in those grey eyes will always get me, if you’re in this black jumpsuit—” Her fingers enclosed along his cock, gripping him firmly. “—or if you’re wearing that ugly zip-up sweater that HR gave you for your work anniversary.”
“Excuse me?” They both jumped at the voice and looked to see the flight attendant. “We’ve just been notified that we’ll be landing a little sooner than we announced. So, if you could finish your drinks in the next few minutes—”
“Of course,” Katniss said quickly, her free hand reaching for her cup. “We’ll be done soon.”
The woman gave them a smile and moved on to the next row.
Katniss sat back, the hand on him quickly disappearing.
“You’re going to be more problematic than I thought,” she said, her eyes dark.
“Trust me.” Peeta let out a breath. “The feeling is mutual.”

“I never asked, but you and Rye are pretty close, right?”
Peeta nodded, pushing the cart with their luggage down the corridor as they left baggage claim.
“We’re probably just as close as you and Prim are,” he told her. “And Delly is great. Horrendous taste in friends, but she’s really a sweet person.”
“Do you suspect that Rye will see through all of this?” Katniss questioned.
Peeta shook his head. “We’ve done our research.” He stopped, reaching for her hand. “I also always thought that you and I had great chemistry…in the workplace. I think it transfers easily into whatever we’re trying to pull off.”
Katniss smiled. “I feel the exact same way.”
“Peeta!”
They turned to see a couple, running toward them excitedly.
Rye rushed over, pulling him into a tight hug and practically lifting him off the ground. His brother was a broad fellow; muscular from years of playing football throughout high school and college. However, Rye was as gentle as they came when it came to his younger brother and the lovely woman that he would soon be marrying.
“I’ve missed you, little brother!” Rye said affectionately. “Welcome home!”
They drew apart, just as Delly pulled away from hugging Katniss.
He reached over to quickly kiss Delly on the cheek. “Hello soon-to-be big sister.”
“Hello, my sweet little brother,” Delly greeted in return.
“Rye, Delly—” Katniss beamed at him and his heart leapt at the affectionate gesture. Taking her hand, he presented her proudly to the couple. “—this lovely woman is my girlfriend, Katniss Everdeen.”
Delly grinned at his expression. “I can already tell that she’s going to be a perfect addition to our family.”
Rye took Katniss’ hand, leaning and giving her a kiss on the cheek.
“I welcome anyone who makes my baby brother smile this brightly,” he told her. “Welcome to San Francisco. Have you ever been here?”
Katniss shook her head. “This is my first time. Congratulations, by the way.”
“Thanks!” Delly glowed in excitement. “I can’t wait for all the festivities—” She whipped around to her fiancé. “—and for us to be married, of course!” They all chuckled at her exuberance.
Rye led them out into where the town cars were stationed; a man in a black suit immediately took the cart and headed to the trunk of the black Sedan in front of them.
“A driver?” Peeta asked.
“Mom and Dad insisted,” Rye responded with a grimace. “You know them.”
They all slid into the wide back seats, Rye closing the door behind him.
Delly immediately pounced. “So, how did you two meet?”
“We’ve been working together for the last two years at Panem Projects,” Katniss told her easily. “I’ve always liked Peeta and we became friends right away.”
“However, a little over six months ago, I finally got the balls to ask her out on an actual date,” Peeta finished for her. His hand found hers, their fingers entwining easily, and he met Katniss’ eyes. “And, wonderful woman that she was, she accepted. We’ve been together ever since.”
“I love it,” Delly said sincerely. “And you look so beautiful together. The children are going to be gorgeous.”
Rye smiled affectionately at his fiancée. “Don’t scare Katniss off, love.”
“I don’t know,” Katniss said, eyeing Peeta playfully. Her free hand reached to push his hair away from his face. “I’ve always loved blue-eyed children.”
“And, the children would look particularly lovely if they had Katniss’ hair,” he added, his hand reaching to the tuck a tendril of her hair behind her ear.
How did he never notice what was in front of him?
“Oh man,” Rye said, looking between them. He smirked at his brother. “You are so fucked.”
++++++
“It’s so wonderful to have you here, Katniss,” his mother said. “We’ve never had Peeta bring a girl home. You know, except for Mad—" She waved her hand, rolling her eyes. “Anyway, you are most welcome.”
“Thank you, Mrs. Mellark,” Katniss replied graciously.
“Call me Janice, my dear.”
Behind her, Peeta followed along with his father carrying their bags up the stairs.
“She seems like a lovely girl,” his father told him.
“I care for her a great deal,” Peeta said as he watched his mother and Katniss chat easily. “I don’t know how I even got her.”
“Trust me, son.” He gave Peeta an affectionate smile. “I think she feels the same way. I can tell just by the way she keeps looking over for you—like she can’t believe that you’re together.”
They stopped at the door to his childhood room.
“Well, we put some extra towels in your bedroom,” his mother told them. “And, Mags—” Peeta had introduced Katniss to the head of the household when they first entered his childhood home. “—made sure that fresh sheets have been put on the bed and she’s aired out the room as well.”
“Okay, but where will Katniss be staying?” he asked.
“We’re not so old to not know that you aren’t sleeping together,” his mother said. “So, we just set up your room for the both of you.”
“That’s perfect,” Katniss told his parents. She looked to him boldly. “Show me your room. I’m dying to see those little league trophies of yours.”
“We know that you must be exhausted,” his father told them. “So, we’ll just have dinner sent up and we can rendezvous for brunch tomorrow in the main dining room.”
“Thank you, Marshall,” Katniss said as Peeta opened the door for them. “Thank you as well, Janice.”
“Of course, dear.” His mother gave them a jaunty wink. “We’ll see you tomorrow.”
Entering the room, Peeta placed their bags at the end of his bed.
“What kind of life did you leave when you came to work at Panem Projects?” Katniss stared up at the high ceiling of the room, her eyes traveling to the four-post bed, and then to the floor-to-ceiling windows. She went to one immediately. “Oh my God! You can see everything from up here!”
“A house on Twin Peaks affords that kind of view. However, it’s not so great on foggy days,” he told her, watching as she examined every bit of his room from the bathroom (“A clawfoot tub!”) to the walk-in closet (This is practically the size of my studio!).
Taking off her shoes, Katniss leapt onto his bed. “Holy shit! This is heavenly!”
Peeta went to her, toeing off his own shoes before joining her.
They laid side by side, hands immediately reaching for one another.
He turned to her. “Did I ever say thank you for being here?”
“It’s all worth it to stay in this sweet room,” Katniss replied, her grey eyes dancing.
“So, you’re just here for the room?”
She smirked. “Well, I did also find out that you have a huge cock—so that’s a bonus.”
“Katniss!” Her laughter filled the room and his stomach tumbled in pleasure hearing it. He suddenly flipped, his chest over hers and the giggles fell from her lips. Peeta stared down at her, her grey eyes suddenly darkening as he examined her. “You’re something special.”
“I’m nothing.” Her chest rose and Katniss let out a shaky breath. “I just want to be here for you.”
“I want to kiss you,” he suddenly said, his hand reaching to trace her jawline. “Would you allow it?”
“Are you doing it because you want to thank me?” she asked tightly. “Or because you want to explore what is obviously between us?”
“Both, I think.” Peeta had never felt this exhilarated or this flustered by someone. Just a touch from Katniss and he was in a whirlwind, happy to be caught in it. “I just think you deserve someone less broken than I am.”
“We’re both broken.” Her hand reached for the nape of his neck, drawing him down until their lips were brushing. “I don’t know if we can fix that, but we can help each other mend.” She smiled against him. “Let’s see where this weekend takes us, and we can go from there. For now, I’m allowing you to kiss me. So, make it a good one.”
Peeta dipped his mouth into hers, sampling just a bit, and it was like he could breathe again. Immediately, his lips sought hers, his tongue sweeping into her mouth and swirling against her own. Katniss moaned and his heart rose in triumph as she pressed herself to him eagerly.
His hand reached to cradle her head, his fingers entwining in soft waves and he plunged into her mouth once more, exploring her in their kiss.
Katniss ripped her mouth off his, a string of saliva still connecting them.
“Fuck!” Her eyes were frenzied. “What the hell are you doing to me?”
He grinned. “I’m just exploring.”
Despite his attempt to remain cool, his own heart raced; the feel of her mouth…and her tongue undoing him.
This wasn’t the plan, but it felt right.
“This whole game we’re playing,” she said, her eyes full of hunger. “I’m going to crash and burn, aren’t I?”
“If you burn—” Peeta kissed her tenderly. “—then I burn with you.”

Ransom Thrombey x Reader...
Tumblr media
Warnings: Smut, Ransom being an asshole, slightly non-con in part, theft.
Pairing: Ransom x Reader
**********************************************
You rolled your eyes with a scoff at the *Be careful* text that had come through to your phone from your best friend. It was in reference to Ransom Thrombey.
The guy whose car you were sat in, speeding towards his place.
You were fully aware of how much of an absolute asshole he was. You were casual acquaintances. And usually you would have kept your distance. But he was hot. He wasn't your ex. He also wasn't the slimy guy at the bar who wouldn't take no for an answer. Who else where you meant to fuck.
*He's a A grade asshole* was the following text. You quietly snorted to yourself and replied with *I know. I'll be fine*
"What?“ Ransom asked, with a quick glance your way. His eyes didn't reach your face, just your exposed thigh above your boots and below your cream dress that stopped just above mid thigh.
"Nothing, just calling off the search party for me" you mumble, throwing your phone into your small clutch and snapping it shut.
"You're hot property" he commented - sounding proud he managed to snatch you away. You suppressed another eye roll and remained quiet.
***
You'd never been to Ransom's place, but it was no surprise. Asshole-trust-fund-baby's interior design taste seemed to be obvious.
"Drink?“ he asked tossing his keys into a far too expensive bowl as he strut off into his house.
"Please" you were probably going to need some more alcohol to dull the asshole in Ransom. You followed him into the kitchen, eyeing the interior as you walked, your boots clicking along the floor.
"I only have red, is that okay?“
“Sure" you hated red, but then again there wasn't much to like about Ransom. A pretty face only made up for so much.
***
Where you meant to argue with someone you were about to fuck? Like really argue? You had contemplated leaving, but it was late. Plus the Uber app showed the nearest uber 30 mins away.
You had to admit it was kind of fun pissing Ransom off. He hadn't expected you to be so smart, with a good answer for everything. You had him stuck for words several times. "You got a smart mouth" he grinned, clearly annoyed at one point.
"You can't possibly believe that, but then again you did refer to me earlier as property" you sipped your drink for dramatic effect. But that only seemed to piss Ransom off more - turning his words against him.
He was clearly more annoyed that you realised because his next move was to toss the contents of the wine glass in his hand in your direction. The red liquid instantly soaked into your dress. Your cream dress.
That's how much of an asshole Ransom was. But you weren't going to get angry. Not yet anyway. You'd come this far.
You looked at the liquid running down your thigh and roughly wiped away the trail before it reached the top of your boot. You looked up at Ransom's smug face, lost for words for a moment.
"I'll have my maid clean your dress" God herself wouldn't be able to get the wine out of the dress.
"If you wanted me to take my clothes off so badly you should have just asked me already" You pushed away from the kitchen counter and walked out of the kitchen. Slowly unzipping your dress.
"Where are you going?" Ransom called after you.
"The bedroom is this way, right?"
***
Ransom was selfish, and it showed in the way he had sex. It wasn't bad, far from it. But he just did things so you would do things to him in return.
Your already scored one point - as you peeled off your ruined dress you could see that there was a moment of realisation, that with you he couldn't get away with doing the bare minimum or demand you did stuff solely for him.
He went down on you, but it was obvious it was only so you would go down on him. But that wasn't to say he was bad at it. Of course Ransom was good at everything he did.
You could feel like light stubble on his face against the inside of your thighs. He was good with his mouth, but when he added in his fingers your back arched off his bed, your hands jumping to the top of his head, messing up that perfect asshole quiff.
Even with his head between your legs, you could sense that asshole smirk. "You like that?“ he cockily asked. Your just nodded your head along with a high pitched hum. He pushed you down against his bed, and when he added a finger to the two that were already inside you it only took a few moments before your were gripping the forearm of hand that was pushing down on your stomach as you came.
You didn't want to return the favour. They way he sat on the edge of his bed, like some demanding King. Legs open, resting back on his arms and that asshole smirk. You should have grabbed up your dress and left, but then again the score was One-all and you were determined to win.
You had to admit to yourself that Ransom had a nice cock. It was nice to look at, one you'd enjoy receiving a picture of. But of course he did. It was Ransom, and you weren't going to actually tell him that.
As you knelt down between his legs, Ransom dropped down onto his elbows, you ran your hands up his bare thighs - watched his cock bounced a little as your fingers tickled his skin.
Ransom shuddered with a groan as you slowly took him in your mouth as you looked up at him, your tongue running along the underside of his cock as you leant forward taking him into your mouth. His hips jerked as he hit the back of your throat.
Soon you rid him of that smirk, and you weren't even trying hard. It was his turn to have the duvet screwed up in his hands. You watched his lower abdomen muscles twitch, impressed with the curses you managed to pull from him.
A few moments before you could tell he was about to cum, you let him slowly slide out of your mouth. When he didn't feel your mouth again, he propped himself up on his elbows, looking down at you.
You climbed on top of him, positioning yourself in his lower stomach. You watch as his eyes dart between your face, breasts and the wetness he could no doubt feel on his lower stomach where you sat.
"I was just about to cum" he whines, like a spoilt brat.
Two - One to you, maybe even Three - One. You pressed your chest against his as you leant down to kiss Ransom. He gropes at your waist as his tongue slide into your mouth.
You manage to slide your hand down between you both so you grip his cock and manoeuvre the tip just into you. A little.
When you push back on his chest, looking down at him you're little smirk puts an end to your games. Ransom is pushing his hip, quickly entering you as he's ulling you down onto him, and rolling you both over - plenty of room left on his huge custom made bed.
He bottoms out inside you, has you trying to crawl back and create some distance, but he just pins you to the bed. "You're not going anywhere" he growls.
You lose count on the internal score you have going on - is it Six-All, or Eight-Five, or Eight-Seven.
You're not sure, the orgasms have you a little confused, but you have Ransom on his back again. He has two fingers in your mouth as you start to ride him. Your press your hands into his chest, widen the stance of your knees either side of his hips, and roll your hips slowly, in a tight circle, keeping most if him inside you. He watches how you move, the other hand gripping your waist because he's not sure how you're doing that. Is it an illusion? Because it feels too good to be fake.
You let your head drop back, his fingers slipping out of your mouth as his hand slide down to your neck. He squeezes a little, not wanting to ruin the moment by being too much of an asshole at the wrong time. He feels you flutter around him, and squeezes again - maintaining the pressure, trying to hold off his own orgasm, because it's gonna be his last and he wants it to count.
You're trying to hold off your own orgasm too. Thinking of things that detract from the feeling of Ransom inside you. You're ruined dress. How much of an asshole he is. If you can order an uber so you don't have to stay the night. But all your mind keeps thinking of his how his hands grip you with the right pressure, keeping you low down in him. How he feels inside you, how you can feel all of him as you clench like your own body is trying to get more.
"Fu-k" the curse comes out broken from Ransom's mouth. His hand slips from your throat to the other side of your waist as he tries to hold you down on him so he can really bury himself inside of you. And that's all it takes to have you cuming. Your back arches, your pelvis tilting forward trying to get more. Your fingers wrap around both Ransom's forearms and dig in.
You manage to stay up right, panting in time with Ransom. Ten - Eight to you.
***
Ten-All. You don't think that because you're asleep. But it is. Because you fell asleep before you could get out of Ransom's.
Now he lays half awake next to you wishing his phone was closer so he could take a picture. You were a great catch - maybe he'll ask you back somehow.
Ransom had managed to pull the covers back down to your waist to admire you as you slept. Maybe he'd push you out of bed. Maybe he'd hold a pillow over your head for jokes. Or
He pressed up against you, running his hand from your neck, between your breasts and down your stomach. With a sigh you rolled onto your side, youre back to Ransom.
That wasn't exactly the reaction he was looking for. He shuffles up against your back. His cock sitting nicely between your ass cheeks, as his hand tickles down your stomach again. He dips his fingers between your legs and slides them along your clit, rubbing soft, slow circles.
"Good morning to you too" You mumble. Ransom doesn't verbally reply, just shoves him hand further between your legs, trying to get his fingers inside you. Your grunt, pushing him off of you.
Ransom rolls onto his back, slowly stroking himself.
"Maybe I should go" as you sit up, Ransom grabs your arm pulling you back down. There was a brief moment of struggle between you and Ransom and he ended up on top of you.
He pinned your arms over your head. "Why don't you stay for breakfast? How's eggs sound?"
You pulled your wrists from his grip, holding them against your chest. "I really doubt you can actually cook" you snorted.
You don't mean to inflame Ransom so much, but it was a statement that probably had weight.
Ransom's eyes narrowed, and he grabbed both your wrists in one of his hands, pressing them into your chest. He shifted on you slightly, grabbing himself. He started to stroke himself, maintaining eye contact with you.
"Ransom stop it" when you pushed your arms up, Ransom pushed down harder.
"Don't be disgusting" you tried to fight him off but he was stronger than you.
"Ransom, no" he pressed your wrists into your chest harder, as he quickened the pace in which he jerked himself off.
Before you could stop him, he came all over your stomach. He held you down, allowing himself to fully finish. The cum was hot against your skin. He relaxed letting go for your wrists.
"You're a fucking asshole you know that" you elbowed Ransom off of you and stormed off to the bathroom. You grabbed one of the small towels from the handrail, ran it under the hot water tap and started to clean yourself up.
Behind you, you could hear the sound of Ransom's bare feet against the heated bathroom tiles. "I'm sorry"
You glared up at him in reflection of the mirror. "You're not"
"I am, let me make it up to you" his hands found your waist, pulling you back against him. His new erection was evident, sliding between your ass cheeks as he rubbed up against you.
"I'm going to have a shower" you pushed away from him, Fleet slapping against the warm marble. You made sure to slam the door shut, happy to see him leave the bathroom after a moment.
When you stepped out of the shower Ransom was nowhere to be seen.
In just the towel you wandered through his place until you found him.
He was sat on one of his fancy single chairs, dressed. He smirked on seeing you enter the living area. The mostly glass space making you feel more vulnerable under his gaze.
"I'll call you tomorrow" Ransom hung up the phone, smirking at you.
"I'm going to ask if you cleaned my dress, even though I know the answer is no" Ransom just chuckled to himself.
"Slipped my mind"
"Guess you'll have to stick around a bit longer, unless you're gonna leave in that. Now I know you look good in anything, but a towels a stretch" his smug smile increases. But rather than give him the satisfaction of being angry you spin on your heels and walk back to the bedroom.
"No worries"
"I don't like this new you y/n, she's no fun" he calls out.
"Fuck you Ransom… Oh wait I already did" you mumble to yourself and you rip off the towel, throwing it to the ground, giving Ransom a nice view of your ass as you walked off.
You storm to his obscenely large walk in wardrobe and start rummaging around. You're pretty sure there's probably some left over female clothes you can find.
But it's not another females clothes you find.
An hour later yours slipping out of the back door for Ransom's place, dressed in more than a towel, walking across the gravel to the waiting uber. The driver greets you as you get in confirming your name and the drop off point.
You smugly smile as you feel your phone vibrating in your clutch. You slowly answer the phone, half wondering if you should let it go to voicemail.
"Yes Ransom" you know he can hear the smirk in your voice.
"Being naked won't get you 5 stars on Uber"
"Most people don't hold others hostage by taking their clothes" the Uber drivers eyes flick onto you in the rear view mirror and then back onto the road. "If you wanted me to stay you should have just asked"
"I asked you if you wanted breakfast" you snorted down the phone.
"I'm sure you'll be back for your dress anyway"
"Unlikely, tie-dye is so last year" you hang up, and open up your camera taking a snap of your new outfit and send it to Ransom.
*A little worn, but comfy. The holes give character* you add after the picture.
*I want my jumper back* is the reply. You can feel his anger even half way from his place.
*We all want a lot of things Ransom, doesn't mean we get them*

ON DEMAND APP DEVELOPMENT
On-demand services apps are everywhere – we will hardly imagine a field unknown to the on-demand market. sort of services, speed, convenience, and quality make these apps popular and widely used around the globe. But behind everything, there is a fast, reliable, and easy-to-use platform.
So, the way to approach launching an on-demand application? during this guide, we’re covering what on-demand services there are, what are their types, must-have features and steps to create one – let’s start.
What Is On-Demand Service App?
On-demand delivery software works as a mediator between a customer and a business. a bit like Uber does for cabs, Airbnb for hotels and Zomato for food delivery.
The on-demand platform allows users to order any quiet service and strives to deliver it in minutes. Like booking a ride through Uber.
These apps solve users' major and minor everyday problems. For now, there are on-demand platforms in beauty, education, healthcare, taxi and cargo delivery, food delivery, and lots of other fields. and that we can get all that beauty just by a couple of finger taps.
The on-demand service's app connects customers with different service providers and the other way around. Of course, the platform charges a fee for that. But users from each side often prefer paying extra cash overspending hours checking out the proper specialist/customer.
Thus, on-demand apps offer a faster and more convenient procedure and make their few dollars reciprocally.
Here’s how on-demand apps like Uber work:
1. User places an invitation.
2. App connects them with a service provider.
3. Provider checks the request and accepts it.
4. Payment is permitted.
5. Provider delivers the service.
6. Customer confirms the delivery.
7. Payment is deducted.
The workflow of on demand app development
According to Burson-Marsteller’s survey, 42% of adult Americans have used a minimum of one among on-demand app services. and therefore the number is merely growing.
There are a couple of reasons for such popularity:
Lower costs
On-demand platforms offer lower prices, compared to traditional providers. And cost's often the most driver for buyers.
Availability
Smartphones and tablets are everywhere, so any service with a reliable mobile platform is handy, accessible, and one-click easy to urge.
Adjustment to users’ preferences
On-demand businesses know what their users want, and that they aim to deliver services as fast as possible. as an example, with Jiffy, a home-service platform, you’ll get a plumber to repair the faucet within 2-3 hours, not days.
Various payment methods
Mostly, on-demand apps use Stripe or Braintree payment gateways or e-wallets like PayPal. of these tools are highly secured, fast and reliable. Besides, on-demand delivery apps accept cash also.
Minimum efforts
There’s a choice to save your details like payment info, delivery address, and so on. No got to enter this information again and again with each new order.
Variety
Tens of apps in each category, from babysitting to make-up service, meaning each user can find an answer that works best for them.
Types of On-Demand Apps
As you'll see, there are quite a lot of spheres on-demand services come suitable for. Taxi, meal delivery, dog walking, babysitting, laundry pick-up – on-demand applications seem to be taking care of everything.
So, let’s take a glance at the foremost popular categories and consider leading apps in each.
Taxi Services
The taxi and transportation field benefits from on-demand service apps the foremost. No wonder big players like Uber or Lyft have changed the sport forever. Now, the taxi apps let customers book a car just during a jiffy. All they need to try to is about their destination and await the cab to arrive.
The driver will get a ride request and, if everything's arranged, come to select their passengers.
Eager to build your own Uber-like taxi app? Check our 'How to make an App Like Uber' guide, explaining all the nuances.
Today's on-demand taxi apps offer many new features but the must-haves are:
• Map and GPS navigation that helps customers catch nearby taxis
• Communication channels between riders and drivers
• Advanced feedback system (rates and reviews)
The most well-known taxi apps apart of Uber and Lyft are:
• Flywheel
• Curb
• Free Now
The best-known on-demand taxi services
By the way, we've also worked on a P2P on-demand app called Move Up. It’s a taxi service a bit like Uber or Lyft but targeted both at regular people that need a ride and at those with specific medical needs, bulky items, parents with children, etc.
We had to manoeuvre far away from the Uber-like business model, create a classy filtering system, and permit offline driver's validation. Besides, there are also complex payment capabilities with a free-ride option.
Result? Scalable and versatile platform with integrated GPS technology, Stripe, and other features that helps people find the simplest transport option to meet their needs.
For now, Move-Up features a website and iOS application.
Food Delivery
Using a food on-demand delivery platform, users order meals from nearby eateries after checking the menus. As soon because the customer places an order, the restaurant starts preparing the dish and indicates when the food is going to be ready.
By that point, the courier reaches the eatery, picks the food up and delivers it to the listed address.
The key food delivery apps’ success is, as usually, speed and therefore the simple use. An on-demand app may be a win-win solution for both customers and restaurant owners. Users can easily order food from many places by checking menus within the app. And owners get more orders, thus, more revenue.
The best on-demand delivery platforms within the field are:
• UberEats
• GrubHub
• Instacart
• Doordash
Most popular on-demand food delivery platforms
Household Chores
House cleaning, repairs, dog walking many |and plenty of"> and lots of other everyday tasks take lots of time. And for those that need help with household chores, on-demand apps may be a perfect answer.
For example, if you bought a leakage issue reception, you only post an invitation on the app and a nearby plumber fixes it in no time. Same way, these platforms help with fixing carpentry problems, home appliances, etc.
Apps that have gained popularity during this niche include:
• TaskRabbit
• Merry Maids
• Thumbtack
Household on-demand platforms
Gifts & Flowers Delivery
Forgot about a friend's or relative's birthday or simply happen to be in another city? On-demand delivery startups come to the rescue again. As for now, the delivery of gifts and flowers are one of the solutions to enter the market and gain customers. Apps attract users because of:
• Wide choice of obtainable products;
• Abilities to settle on the delivery time;
• Doorstep delivery.
Today, the leaders during this field are:
• UrbanStems
• Gyft
• Giftagram
Platforms that deliver gifts or flowers
Healthcare
On-demand medical apps connect patients with doctors. So users can ask their physicians one-on-one once they need help. And a bit like during a standard visit, doctors make recommendations.
Of course, no app can look out for great disease, and patients can’t get tested or properly examined without getting to a hospital. But a clear consultation is some things on-demand service apps can deal with.
The best healthcare apps are:
• Doctor on Demand
• Pager
• IsDocin
The most popular healthcare service apps
How to Make an On-Demand App: most vital Steps
Finally, it’s time to seek out where to start out building your own on-demand app. So, let’s determine the way to build an on-demand app, step by step.
1. Do a search
It's a big mistake when investors care only about tech aspects (coding) and ditch the thought. After all, coding just guarantees that the app will run smoothly. But it is the customer research that helps with finding the audience, their pains and problems.
Besides, the research helps with building apps that bring a friendly experience to users.
Here are the most tips:
• Learn about customers. Online behaviours, hobbies, pains and wishes – the more you recognize about future users, the more attractive app you'll build.
• Concentrate on unique functions. On the market, this saturated, the simplest and sometimes the sole thanks to attracting customers is to supply an ingenious solution. nobody wants to download on-demand delivery app clones with the same features.
• Don't attempt to please everyone. albeit you are doing, the app won't be capable of solving all users' issues. specialise in the bulk. Continuous updates aimed to serve all needs cost tons – and there are no guaranteed profit returns.
2. Pick the features
If you’re still unsure of your product’s success or simply want to launch the app as soon as possible, choosing the MVP set could also be the simplest option.
Still, there are some features that just can’t be skipped:
• Registration
• Geolocation (or tracking)
• Notifications
• Payment
(Look for more details about features within the next section).
3. on-demand app development services require many technologies, counting on the choice of platforms. In fact, choosing a platform to create an app for is that the most vital part because it directly relates to customers' media experience. Thus, you'd better launch the app on platforms that are popular among your target users and keep close attention to tech details.
Generally, there are three sorts of platforms you would like to worry about:
• web platform (runs during a web browser)
• native app (e.g. iOS/Android)
• cross-platform technology (cost-effective method for both iOS and Android apps)
Check our 'Native vs. Hybrid App' comparison to seek out out which approach will work for you.
4. Find the proper development team
When everything’s planned and arranged, it’s time to start out trying to find on-demand app developers. Currently, there is two popular options – in-house or outsourced development:
1. In-house teams – great for long-term projects that require 24/7 support and maintenance, but are often very expensive (you’ll need to cover insurance, taxes, salaries, vacation, sick days).
2. Offshore developers – great for both short and future projects, cost-effective (you pays exactly for the work done), and outsourcing teams are able to sign the contract to guard both parties.
Before contacting an on demand app development, it’s always better to make an inventory of features you’d wish to see. But first, you ought to define what percentage of parties are getting to use the platform.
For example, if you are making a taxi, beauty or household service app, two parties are involved – customers and repair providers. And, as business owners must have full control over both parties, an admin panel is another need. But when it involves food delivery, there's another party involved – the eatery which prepares the meal.

Airport Flowers: Friends
For Chlonath Week, I decided to expand on a drabble from last month so here we go. :)
Written for @chlonathweek
Parts 0, 1:
“You have to leave the hotel at some point, Chlo,” Alya looked through the large screen with a sympathetic expression.
“No, I don’t. I can have literally anything I want delivered. And Sabrina brings me anything else.” Chloe stretched back on her couch and looked towards the other woman who was unpacking a tote bag.
“Sabrina!” Alya chastised. “We talked about this! Tough love.”
The other woman flushed a bright pink. “I know! But she wanted some of those new yoga pants we all got and she’s so sad and--”
“I’m fine! Why won’t anyone believe me?” Chloe huffed and crossed her arms.
Kagami appeared on the screen beside Alya. “Because you won’t leave the security of your suite. You’re being a coward.”
“Screw you.”
Marinette eased between Kagami and Alya. “Come out with us tonight, Chloe. We’re going to dinner and a movie. It will be fun and chill, I promise. Sabrina’s even coming, aren’t you, Sabrina?”
“Yeah, I was hoping I could get Chloe to ride with me.” She gave the other woman a hopeful smile but Chloe slid further down on the couch.
“I’m not going out. You saw their engagement announcement, didn’t you? He’s marrying her. Maybe he’ll screw her maid of honor at the reception too. Just keep the cycle going.”
“Maybe you should’ve actually chosen one of your friends for your maid of honor instead of one of his,” Kagami muttered.
Chloe narrowed her eyes but she nodded. “I know. You’re right. I was a fool.” She held up the remote to the large screen. “I love you guys and thank you but I’m not ready to see the real world again just yet. Have fun tonight.” Before her friends could argue further, she ended the call with a sigh. “Just go with them, Riri, I’m fine.”
Sabrina wrung her hands together. “Are you sure?”
She turned to look back at her. “I promise. I’m going to order in some food. Maybe next weekend, I’ll try.”
“I’m going to hold you to that.” Sabrina reached around the couch to hug her and then she was gone.
Chloe sighed and picked up her phone. “Okay, Uber Eats, whatcha got for me tonight?”

Nathaniel leaned against the elevator wall as the lift rose to the penthouse. When he tried to drop the food delivery off with the front desk, the receptionist informed him that she was no longer allowed to go up to the penthouse and he would have to deliver it himself. He hoped the occupant was at least a good tipper. This was eating into his time to pick up another delivery.
He stepped out into the foyer and went to the expensive lacquered door with an ornate golden bee door knocker. He studied it for a moment before using his knuckles to rap on the door. After a few more seconds, the door swung open and a woman in sweatpants and a messy bun crossed her arms.
“The app said you arrived five minutes ago.”
“Yeah, sorry. I didn’t realize I was going to have to come all the way up. Took a bit longer.” He offered the food and took a better look at her. “Wait, I think I know you.”
Chloe finally looked up at him and felt the blood drain from her face. Her mind instantly went to the pencil sketch of flowers she had taped up on her vanity. “Nathaniel, right?”
His eyes lit up with recognition and he smiled. “I met you at the airport a few weeks ago,” he nodded. “Did you ever get your flight?”
“Finally.”
“Did the trip help any?”
She grimaced. “I think it made me feel worse actually.”
“Ah, that sucks. Sorry about that.”
Chloe shrugged and half reached for the bag in his hand. “Can I have my dinner?”
“Oh!” He blushed and handed it to her. “Sorry, yeah. I threw some extra napkins and condiments and stuff in there so hopefully it’s everything you need.”
“Thanks.” She stepped back and put her hand on the door. He stood in the foyer as she closed the door on him. He wasn’t sure what he’d expected. He’d spent most of his flight thinking about her and some of his trip visiting his father and then she just became one of those random memories that slipped in now and then.
It was probably coincidence that they were meeting again now. He’d seen lots of people he knew doing this job. It was bound to happen.
Although he hadn’t realized they both lived in Paris. That was new information.
And he still didn’t have her name...
He quickly pulled up his app to look at the last order.
Chloe.
It was pretty. It suited her really. He smiled to himself as he rode the elevator back down.
