Little bit of Becoming Elizabeth news I found. While Justin Chadwick (The Other Boleyn Girl, Bleak House etc) will be directing episodes 1,2,3,7 and 8. Udayan Prasad will be directing episodes 4,5,6. I don’t know much about him. If anyone has ever seen any of his stuff let me know what you think.

Slight bit of casting news too. Ruby Ashbourne Serkis will be playing Amy Robsart as from her agents website. That’s interesting. Assuming the show is 1547-1558 I think the most we’ll see if her is her wedding to Robert. It actually list Udayan Prasad as the director on her agent website, suggesting she’ll appear in the middle pack of episodes. Which makes sense time line wise. Although Ruby is 4 years younger than Alicia whereas Amy was very likely 12-18 months older than Elizabeth.

PATNA: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected areas in Katihar and Purnia districts. Accompanied by deputy chief minister Tarkishore Prasad, he also inspected arrangements at two flood relief centres – first at the B M College ground, Laxmipur, under Barari block of Katihar district, while the second at the Buniyadi high school, Sapha, under Rupauli block of Purnia district. During inspection of the flood relief centres, the CM also inquired about the facility of medical camp, shelter for the flood affected pregnant women, alternate arrangement for children going to Anganwari centres, Covid-19 test, Covid-19 vaccination, free medicine distribution, shelter for livestock and necessary arrangements at the community kitchen being run for the flood-hit families. During the inspection, Nitish asked Katihar DM Udayan Mishra to conduct Covid-19 test on all the people staying at the flood relief camp, and keep all those persons in isolation who would be found covid positive in the test report. On his return to the state capital, Nitish said, “Today, I conducted an aerial survey of entire flood-affected areas in Katihar and Purnia district. I also met people at two places and took their views. I also inspected whatever arrangements have been made at the flood relief centres.” “There has been a sharp rise in the water-level of Ganga this year. The flood waters have caused huge damages at several places in the two districts,” Nitish told reporters while coming out of Patna airport, this evening. On being asked whether he would seek financial help from the Centre against the damages caused by the floods, Nitish said the state government always makes such demands from the Centre. He also said the state government has made a policy since 2007 on how to provide relief to the flood-affected families. “We keep improving our policy every year and provide necessary assistance to each and every flood-affected people. Not gonna lie the first half made me kinda sick, you don’t really understand whats going on and there’s a whole bunch of weird things that seem to be implied but it’s hard to tell. Towards the middle of the film the story starts to make sense and it’s really good. The complexity of all the characters that you get to understand as the movie continues feel so organic. I wish there would’ve been a more in depth development of  Martine and Gordy’s relationship, but that’s just me nit-picking.

영국프랑스합작범죄드라마 더 터널(The Tunnel) 2013

      ​오늘 소개해드릴 드라마는 영국과 프랑스의 합작 범죄드라마 더 터널(The Tunnel)입니다. 유럽을 배경으로 만들어진 스릴러물로 2011년 덴마크와 스웨덴 합작시리지 더 브릿지(The Bridge)의 리메이크 작입니다. 2013년 10월 15일 영국 Sky Atlantic 그리고 프랑스 Canal+ 에서는는 2013년 11월 11일에 각각의 에피소드당 평균 104만명이 시청하였으며 이미 열 개의 에피소드로  완결이 난 상태인데요.   

        주인공은 왕좌의 게임(Game of Thrones)에서 나온 영국 배우 스테펀 딜런(Stephen Dillane)과 프랑스 출신의 배우인 클레멘스 포시(Clemence Poesy)의 독특한 조합입니다. 클레멘스 포시는 영화 해리 포터에서 플뢰르 델라쿠르 역으로 나왔었지요. 감독은 Dominik Moll, Udayan Prasad,  각본은 Ben Richards, Chris Lang 등  

      더 터널(The Tunnel) 줄거리 소개

  UK와 프랑스 국경선에서 저명한 프랑스 정치인이 죽은 채 발견이 된다. 형사 칼 (Karl Roebuck, 스테펀 딜런 역)와 엘리세(Elise Wassermann, 클레멘스 포시 역)은 각기 자신들의 나라 영국과 프랑스를 대표하여 이 사건을 조사하기 위해 임무를 부여받는다. 범죄현장에서 그 살인은 아주 충격적인 상태로 발견이 되고 사건은 예측하지 못하게 기이해져 버린다. 어쩔 수 없이 쉽지 않지만 이 사건에는 영국과 프랑스의 묘한 파트너쉽이 요구가 되는데..

    연쇄살인범은 이 현대 사회에서의 도덕성을 무너뜨리기 위해 더욱 정교하고 독창적인 방법으로 사람들을 살해한다. 진정한 테러리스트(True Terrorist)라고 불리는 범인. 칼과 엘리세는 범인으로 인해 그들의 일상까지도 무너지게 되는데 이 연쇄살인범을 과�� 잡을 수 있을지

      역시나 좀 섬뜩한 오프닝

      노래는 샤를로뜨 갱스부르(Charlotte Gainsbourg)의 The end of Time입니다.  

      ​영국과 프랑스는 역사적으로 오랜 앙숙관계로 유명하지요. 그래서 두 나라의 합작이라는 시작부터가 특이하다고 느껴졌습니다.  덴마크/스웨덴에서 나온 더 브릿지는 2011년 가을 프리미어 방영을 시작으로 총 시즌2 20개의 에피소드로 제작이 되었습니다.

  물론 이 좋은 소재를 가지고 미국에서 놀릴 일이 없었으니 미국 방송국 FX Networks에서 2013년 다이앤 크루거를 내세워 동명의 드라마를 더 브릿지를 제작하였습니다. 미국 텍사스와 멕시코 국경에서 벌어지는 연쇄살인범이야기를 다룬 내용으로 2014년 시즌2를 기다리고 있습니다. 안타깝게도 다이앤 크루거가 맡은 역할이 그렇다 하여도 어디 아픈건 아닐까 할 정도로의 희얀한 연기를 선보인데다 원작의 분위기는 전혀 살리지 못하여 미국판은 전반적으로 재미가 떨어지는 것 같습니다. 

  그에 비해 더 터널은 전체적으로 나쁘지 않은 평을 받았기에 볼만한 것 같습니다.

      항상 신작위주로 소개했었는데 처음으로 완결난 드라마를 소개해 드리네요. 미국이 TV시리즈를 장악하고 있다보니 다른 나라의 시리즈물 보는 것도 가끔 신선한 것 같습니다.
