Tumblr media
Pictured: An unused drawing in Fallout 3 called “Bloody Sketch found in Dunwich Building.”
It depicts an entity encircling the the Obelisk found in the Virulent Underchambers of the Dunwich Building.
You can read more about Ug-Qualtoth, the subject of the drawing, here:

hm, vaults are weird huh. like experiment vaults are fucked to the point that its cruelty for cruelty's sake, not to test things, like the closest i could think is like really awful testing like unit 731 but thats like.....gross to write about
like some you could see as legitimate testing like vault 81 or even the eugenics supersoldier thing but like...puppets? gary? the panthers? what is the legitimate purpose.

Note
I’ve been diving deeper into the lore lately thanks to your analysis, and it’s gotten me thinking abt like pre-war influences and just how far down Ug Qualoth’s reach COULD go, but know it probably will never get explained to any kind of satisfying degree. So, I’ve gotta know: where would YOU like to see this kind of lore/story go? An actual ending, maybe more in-universe conspiracy to explore and branch off with, or something else? 👀
approaching this as a little wishlist bc i don't have a specific endgame scenario outside of my fanon
reveal caltoth/atom to be an entity who "came online" around 2050 & posed as the precursors to influence robco. this is by far the cleanest and sexiest way to handle the plot. past that i kinda don't care what she is
caltoth must not be responsible for the war, directly or indirectly
someone must call harold "the herald"
time/plane travel and contradictory truths
ghoul religion
wrap up and quarantine mirelurk lore by showing us the giant psykic octopus they keep hinting at
a wise, robed, nonhuman character must appear, and it must piss fallout fans off. and goris. i want 2 gorises
deep temple. they can just do the one from CoUQ with the self-forming vine-bricks and shifting hallways. they can't really top that
lesbians
my fanon endgame is called Fallout 3000, and it's about three major churches arguing endlessly over this shit in the mud wastes of the great lakes. thanks for the prompt!

Manuel Rojas defeats Alduin (76)
Manuel Rojas makes some new friends after attending Graham's Meat Week celebration.
Tumblr media
Now, Graham's Meat Week setting looks a bit complex, and I admit that I find that somewhat curious given that Graham is someone who is more akin to a Generation 2 Mariposa Super Mutant rather than a highly cognizant Super Mutant like Marcus, so I'm curious who set everything up. Before you say that I'm not supposed to look into this too deeply, my curiosity still beacons.
After Meet Week. Manuel further explores Appalachia on his journey to put an end to the threat of the Scorch. At Tangara Town, there is a massive tree that lifts up some houses (I would say that it's supposed to be larger than a small city). It's an out of the way place you aren't lead to, and similar to Fallout 3, an area you can explore outside of the main narrative. It takes some careful jumping to reach the top, but along the way there is a statute (the same kind of statute that appears somewhat similar to the ones you see in the original games and in the new releases from the Fallout franchise, including an area in Fallout 4 tied to the mysterious Dunwich group and one of the enigmatic Cosmic Entities, Ug-Qualoth).
Tumblr media
Rojas looks out at the grand landscape atop Tangara Town.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, while a picture was taken of the scenery, it does not do the moment justice. It was a pleasant reminder of some of the interesting places you could find in the Capital Wasteland if you enjoyed exploring outside the scope of the main story, something that sadly isn't present in Fallout 4.
At this point in time, Rojas had become inoculated, assisted Rose under duress to uncover the information regarding Hank Madigan, and ventured into the Mire to uncover the secrets of Abbie (Abigayle Singh), although he had not met with the former Overseer of Vault 76 (he ignored her message as he found the looming threat of the Scorch and the threatening pandemic they brought about to outweigh meeting with his former Overseer).
Tumblr media
Rachel is someone you can potentially meet (randomly in the wilderness of Appalachia), and she is trying to continue scientific research on the new lifeforms in Appalachia (she is someone who reminds me of Curie). The terminal entries at Red Rocket elude to robots having personalities even before the War (although, due to capitalism, their minds were wiped because it wasn't conducive to the bottom line, although the workers at Red Rocket protested this), and that peaks my curiosity and interest.
Tumblr media
In time, the Enclave is encountered. MODUS (Multi-Operational Directions and Utility Systems) is someone Rojas does not trust, and he makes that abundantly clear to the artificial intelligence. In contrast to Roberto Cofresi, who does not bring up such misgivings with MODUS but never serves the interests of the Enclave for faction specific ops (instead killing very dangerous beasts out in the wastes), Manuel Rojas reluctantly carries out such ops.
MODUS is an interesting approach to a villain because he is very transparently malevolent (something brought up in Wastelanders during the Foundation storyline) but he is also courteous and polite with the protagonist, to the point of flattery (specifically his line about the "Jeffersonian features" of your face). Somewhat similar to President Eden in the Capital Wasteland.
Tumblr media
Utilizing the intel provided by aligning with MODUS, Manuel is able to infiltrate a military base to take on the Scorchbeast Queen (cue the Skyrim battle music).
Tumblr media
All the Section Chefs lived. 😊
This is something I did with my Lone Wanderer, Rivas, during the events in Mothership Zeta - I had this compulsion to make sure the two alien robots lived. 🤖
Tumblr media
The Scorchbeast Queen was slain through community effort. Rojas wore a HIVE M.I.N.D. variant of Excavator armor (in the early days, there was a very nice high-ranking player who gifted my character with Brotherhood of Steel Knight attire, a combat helmet, and took him to initiate the Excavator armor questline, all out of nowhere, and I incorporated that into the story of my character).
Tumblr media
After taking down the Scorchbeast Queen, Manuel Rojas starts trying to piece together a mystery involving an enigmatic Vault, and during that journey stumbles upon a cult of Mothman Cultists, and is forced to wipe them out for his own safety. A sole Mothman stands atop the remnants of a church, but Manuel does not initiate an attack since his life is not threatened.
Tumblr media
After uncovering the secret of Vault 79, Rojas goes to Vault 76 and encounters an old friend, Hannah, the character of @chosenofyffre. Manuel Rojas shows her around Appalachia, and decides it may be time to finally see the Overseer.
