Many think that it requires planning and traveling, but that’s not true. We have nature all around us, and there is great satisfaction in exploring your local area. You feel more at home when you know all the rooms in your house right? It’s the same with your area. Take your boots on and go out. You will find hidden gems of places, get more used to being out and suddenly you need more and more. And by doing it this way, we remove the deciding factor from our brain to our body. Coffee break at last nights photo shoot enjoying the golden sun and view ☕️ It's amazing how nature gets you reflecting over things. Where you've come from, where you are and how you get where you wanna go in the future. As I wrote on my previous photo, I really think about how I came here a lot. How you guys helped me there and just as important, how you keep supporting my journey to get better, to learn and explore myself. Challenge myself, be a better man - a better father, a better human being. These breaks, no matter what you are doing, makes you think about that kind of stuff. I have a vision about how I wanna be in the world, but no roadmap. No guide to tell me how to get there. But what I realize is this: Doing what I do now, nature will help me. Help me see thing clearer and get there on in my own way. Many of you are commenting, sending me PM's and I'm very very grateful that I have inspired you. On assignment for @garmin_norge last night. 5 years ago, I was manager for one of Scandinavia's biggest nightclubs and everything was really about image, networking, being shallow, giving out drinks and champagne to people who didn't give a shit about you. Today I'm where I wanna be. In the middle of nature, trying to be a future role model for my smallest daughter and an example for my oldest. It's important to know what's important here in life and keep yourself humble and thankful. This year has really been a game changer for me and I have all of you to thank. First the polar expedition that really changed my life with a sledgehammer. Second all the support you guys show me. That gives me the opportunity to do what I do, spend less time behind a screen and get more out. I think about that every day, thinking about how I got here and why, but also how I can continue to move on and challenge myself. The future has a lot of adventures and expeditions in the making and I really look forward to it. But the process and training is just as fulfilling as it is a result of my new and changed lifestyle. In love with my new Garmin Fenix 5X. Call me old school, but I can't believe how they got typographic maps and GPS into a watch! How awesome is that seeing your location directly on a map. I'm currently testing it before going on more adventures. For many years I've wanted to get more out. And what's worse, I started to feel the physical symptoms of not being active enough. But even though the signs and personal wish was there, I just didn't manage to "do it". I've gotten a lot of messages from some of you being in the same situation and I'm very happy that many of you find some inspiration in my story. And the key is really to start slow. Just go out. Start in your garden or local park, advance to trails in the forest, still just small walks for an hour or so. The more you do it, the more you feel the change and need to go further. It's just a matter of appreciating nature. And you have it all around you. Start small, desire more and get to know yourself - your new self. There's nothing better than a hot #meal when out in the #cold. I brought some hot water in my @primusequipment and voila, 8 minutes later I had a lovely Reindeer Stew thanks to the awesome guys at @realturmat. Somewhere in #Sweden very early in the morning on my way to meet my future #Polar family in #Stockholm. Not knowing what I was about to enter, what an #adventure and #experience I was about to be a part of. I drove all night starting 01:30 in Skien and arrived my destination at 10:00. I will never forget the #thoughts running through my mind that night. You feel naked going to something you don't know anything about. Like throwing yourself off a cliff. Luckily I was so #impressed over my new best #travel buddy, being so steady on the road and being so extremely fun to drive, that I just enjoyed the ride and forgot my nervousness. Today you all have seen a glimpse on what I encountered, how it changed my life. How it has made me think differently on my approach to #nature, adventures and my own need to explore more.
