#uncipherable studios 2021

My Inktober 2021 work. Not planned. Just felt like doing something with the sharpies/ Available material. You don't always need fancy things or a big plan. I go by feel often enough. I do wish I had more time to work on bigger projects (or Finish / abandon them in more finished states) but sometimes it's also good to just do something as a form of fun or unwinding. And this certainly was that.

There are lines because it IS on lined paper. It's a page of one of my reclaimed/repurposed books or my collection of planners heh. Sometimes the blank page or quality materials trick my brain into "omg so much pressure."

...portfolios...how do people put together portfolios??

Even looking at old work vs new work, by the way I love looking at those kinds of posts, but is it a creative/artist/writer thing to just completely CRINGE at looking at their own or what? 😅 Journeying to the past is always weird. 😂 I'm... processing.

Also, I really wish I could have gone to see Anastasia the Broadway musical but I'm so far from Broadway that would not be realistically possible, so instead I listen to the soundtrack on Spotify when the mood strikes me or load up the animated film and it feels high time for a rewatch. Love the show and the music too.

(In process of gathering together old work and writings. I need to put together a dump file/pit and then a scrapped version of a portfolio just for me to figure out how to even organize into piles and then collect ideas new and old into a better notebook and then also figure out on an online and professional or semi professional portfolio. Omg this is going to take forever, it looks like a LOT of work just finding everything, excuse me while I go crazy a little bit. I may wail on social media because the workload is real.)

Trying to put together a website.

Feel like a dinosaur.

Attempting to work with WiX template.

Feels like someone gave me colorpencils when all I've worked with is Crayola crayons lol.

I remember basic HTML and used to know some CSS. No longer. But I've never really used WYSIWYG type programs much.

This may take a while.

Current workstation. Plus last year's birthday present. Things have been crazy enough that I only got around to properly setting up the Cintiq... last month? Also finally bought a corkboard, and pushpins. Yeah I haven't even taken off the plastic yet. Just stick a pin in it. Also, yes, 30°C >< I miss autumn so much but the region I'm based in is hot, sunny, humid, with rains (love the rain, the rest... not so much) all year round.

  And, we... um... have some presence perhaps on Twitter. But like I said, we need to do a lot of restructuring and figure out current tools so we probably need a relaunch at some point and I don't see that happening anytime soon or before 2022.

Well! I think our personal projects are getting bigger and bigger or more updated and ambitious but... we lack funding. We have no funding, actually, so everything's been a labor of love on free time instead of deadlines or only on self imposed deadlines that Have to be flexible to preserve sanity and mental health? We'll talk about things later but we do have an Instagrammer person on the team and they've done Inktober maybe twice. They also carve little wax stuff out of tea light candles which is rather unique and unusual come to think of it. Usually you see either proper wax carvings with different wax or crayons and those are very cool too! Because... well, we're uncipherable? *laughing* It's the name of the studio not a person! I think we might have what looks like a mini "writing department" but it's more like a "writer's room". There are a lot of overlaps. And we don't have an open office concept, we don't have offices at all in such a physical sense so we work in our own office or at cafes if it's safe and things like that and communicate online and offline when we can manage that.

I cannot give you a complete list and we don't work in the way of "This is a company, that's the boss, here's the hierarchy." And even if we did we wouldn't divulge that information openly. But if legal issues arise (we're not doing anything illegal) of course we'll go through proper channels and see what the issues are and who we need to involve. Privacy is very much respected in Uncipherable Studios. And we don't work for "exposure". We're trying to get our projects enough off the ground to put them on platforms for people who May enjoy them to stumble onto them and if they like it enough maybe hopefully might want to become our patrons on Patreon or tip us / buy us coffee (or hot chocolate or tea) via Ko-Fi or other things. We had a lot of planning and ideas but things kept getting in the way. Not legal things. Personal needs. We need sleep. :p

> What is Uncipherable Studios? Is it a real place?

Honestly? It's real and it isn't. There's no physical structure and there's no address, we don't even have a post box yet and the snail mail system here leaves a lot to be desired. We're puzzling how to work with or around that. There are options, we just need to find them and figure out what we can afford and what we can't. We want it to be a "real" place though, but no at this time it's not a registered company or anything. Not yet. It's an actual put together sort of imaginary place and there are members in it that want to work both individually on their own projects and collaborate with each other (and possibly other people too in the future) under the name Uncipherable Studios, so in that sense this isn't "just a lark" anymore but we're very Very slowly still trying to get enough rest and information put together to turn it into something other than simply just another Pipe Dream. Hope that clears up the confusion about that.

Whose last post was in 2018. Am currently in process of trying to both collate and reclaim past accounts, get things in order, and relaunch this much more properly maybe 2022 or 2023 (yesh, I keep pushing back the date). 

One wonders how on earth, with how bad I am at being regular, I still retain my position of TumblrMaster (I’m not a Master!) for Uncipherable Studios but honestly we’re a tiny sort of company (not even registered yet) or group of friends who are still very desperately wanting to make this less of a pipe dream and more of a real thing. 

We also think we need a fresh start. So. The old tumblr is going to be happily regarded as a tumblr that is still online but for archivist purposes. 

Welcome to Uncipherable Studios 2021, we’re still very much under construction (digital under construction, anyone remember those gifs on personal websites on Geocities? Wow we feel old but hey new kids you can still browse old Geocities pages if you know where to go, so go take a romp and go web surfing!) but the dream is still very much alive.
