Reading Log #3 “Momma, The Dentist And Me - Maya Angelou september 25,2017

summary

The story takes place where a black granddaughter needed of dental assistants and where her a grandmother tries looking for a dentist. This story could be like any other but is not and the reason is simply beyond the little girl and the grandmother seeking for help there's a boundary that takes place because of the time that the story takes place. What the story really shows me is how being in need was a mistake that was needed to fix by their own bare hands how a person needed to endure the pain. The story takes us where the discrimination of a person is acceptable and how base on the skin color you are denigrated by those with superior color. How a dentist protocol was to help the ones with pale skin and pockets full of green and not the patient whose pain is unbearable to even speak. How a dentist denigrated without holding back on the criteria and how a black granddaughter needed to walk another 25 miles to get treated and to be able to have some treatment from a black dentist. Which is unacceptable to deny a medical help for anyone with any disability or skin color because at the end is not about the money power or the position that you have but rather the things that you have done to live on to  move on from stereotypes and accomplish what you want and not base on seeing color but seeing what people are worth. This story talks about how different the era fro the past was but to be honest is not much different from today. Undernet this story I saw cruelty from the dentist and how he couldn't help a black person because of reputation that the society has pushed on for centuries and the efforts that have cause for many people.

The UnderNet Protocol

The UnderNet Protocol (UP/UNP) is a multiversal network created by Admin, a Gaster with the ability to read the multiverse's Code, and insert himself into it for observational purposes.

Over time, the UP has evolved from a basic messaging system, into something grander. Something closer to the modern day internet.

He is happy to sit back and simply watch.

And he is always watching.

Someone asked me the other day, "how does UnderEats advertise?", and it caught me off guard, so I did some thinking. This was my end result - a multiversal internet/UnderNet! I hope y'all like it.

Out of curiosity, if one had their own version of the Multiverse but it was still connected to every AU, would the UE Drivers be allowed to get in (if given access) and deliver to the people there?

Can the drivers / bikes access other multiverse? Yes, as long as they have the co-ordinates.

But said multiverse wouldn't be able to access the UnderEats app/website, because the Undernet Protocol (my MV undernet concept) is locked to the Undertale Multiverse. So ordering food isn't possible...

But the drivers / bikes should be able to access the multiverse personally.

i was researching admin And i was wondering if he had ever attempted to work alongside the omega timeline so they could keep in touch with it's allies and free from interference, after I thought that, i remembered that admin is VERY NOSY, and would prob listen in on stuff he's not suppose to hear, so maybe made core has limits to what he can do? and ink helps him talk to creators as long as hes not nosy and wont take secret info and give it to the enemy (nightmare gang)

Admin is SUPER nosy! CORE!Frisk is aware of this, but they're also aware that he doesn't intend to do much with any information he learns (other than blurt out embarassing information about someone to their face). Admin is obsessed with knowledge, but he's not an information broker or anything of the sorts. He just likes to know stuff.

He has a door in the Omega Timeline which he's embedded his code into. But he finds it difficult to observe the OT unless he's physically close to his door, making it pointless to connect to the Undernet Protocol. CORE!Frisk knew this too, so they just left him alone for the most part.

(As there's no Undernet Protocol there, Undereats - which functions through it - will not work in the Omega Timeline either. But you could always ask someone to collect the food and bring it to you?)

As for Ink… I don't believe he's able to talk to the creators? He benefits from them, but as far as I know that's it. Either way, he wouldn't tell him - Admin has a habit of entering timelines and making them multiverse-aware, which can affect their intended story. So Ink doesn't like him very much. They've fought over it once or twice, but Admin keeps coming back and Ink keeps forgetting about him.

(Admin doesn't care about Nightmare and his group, so doesn't interact with them)

Can creators/aspiring creators join the UnderNet Prtocol?

hmm... that's a good question!

I'm going to say that if creators find the code for it, they can observe, but they cannot directly interact with it. let's say it's... a compatibility issue...? (we're too four dimensional? haha i don't know)

I think it's best if it stays as an in-multiverse thing, if that makes sense. (also if Admin knew that creators could use it, he'd lose his mind and start annoying each one hahaha)

edit: this also means that creators can't look at/order through UnderEats... i'm sorry 😔 (but you can get your ocs to get some for you)

rereading my tags and it made me laugh so here you go

so far, such a question has not been asked yet, but how does Undernet Gaster relate to such Gasters as Epic and X (and that Gaster from the ALIVE comic)

Epic and X irritate him because of their powers. For example, OVERWRITE would destroy his code whenever it's used on a timeline, so he'd be forced to go back and code himself back in. It'd get annoying very quickly. The events of Underverse would really piss him off - so much of his code destroyed...

As for Eternal!Gaster... Admin's code isn't present in the Soul Cosmos, so he watched the fight through the livestream. Admin cares more about the location than Eternal, trying to figure out where they are and why he's never seen this place before.

If he knew/cared about what Eternal's goal was (being limited to a livestream meant information got lost), I think Admin would be a LOT more invested in him. A chance to directly interact with the Creators/real world would be very, VERY interesting...

Progress report / update #3

more of a general update, instead of just UE

Managed to get all the base information out about UnderEats. It's here if you've missed it. I'm very satisfied with this. There's still more to come, eventually, so don't worry.

Also managed to make Undernet Protocol! It's both a concept to explain UE stuff, and something that can standalone. I'm very happy with it. Admin is a fun character, hope to do more with them.

It's been really nice seeing all the love for UE, and seeing people be inspired by it or interacting/drawing Roo. It warms my heart a lot. Thank you all.

That said, UE is taking a backseat for a bit. (record scratch /j) I want to focus on my other OCs for a bit. (Or I might just need a general break -confused burnout noises-)

My schedule will busy up soon and I'm very art fatigued. Things will slow down whilst I recover. Will still work on things, but probs not publically.

my notes + some lore below:

ADMIN & UNDERNET PROTOCOL REFERENCE SHEET

I reference information from the above multiple times, if anyone wants context (or just to learn more about Admin :]) other references are linked throughout.

So I created this animatic because I wanted to explore Admin a bit more, and I felt like the song could accomplish that, especially with the interview format. In-universe, he's having an interview with Rep, broadcasting to various AUs.

The lyrics are totally inaccurate, though it kind of follows the interview very loosely. I tried to make the dialogue rhyme & follow the same tempo(?) as the original lyrics, but otherwise I just focused on making it accurate to Admin.

I think the lyrics do well enough to get my ideas across, so I just want to talk about some visual stuff + extra info.

the globe

"YOU MAY CALL ME ADMIN. I'M TO THANK FOR ALL OF THIS."

So that globe he's holding (and ignoring later) is the symbol for the world wide web/the internet. It's supposed to symbolise the Undernet Protocol/MultiNet, which exists because of him.

This was supposed to symbolise a WAN (wide area network) (which is what the internet is) (Though I suppose a Multiversal Area Network would be shortened to MAN... but that's already the acronym for Metropolitan Area Network... maybe MvAN?). Each globe here represents an AU, and he's at the centre of it all.

the apple

The apple is knowledge (the idea came from the story of Adam and Eve, and the forbidden fruit from 'the tree of the knowledge of good and evil'). It's something that Admin is trying to reach throughout the entire video.

It's always out of reach and in the end, it's completely unreachable on the other side of the screen.

the code

This is the code at 2:17. I had to zoom in to get the desired effect so most of it was hidden, but here it is. I wrote in his reference that Admin likes to try and communicate with Creators via game files - this is one of those attempts! (The code onscreen at 1:10-1:15 and 2:03-2:06 are also attempts). But it never works...

01 04 13 09 14 - these numbers correspond to the alphabet. It spells out ADMIN.

exec

Admin is the creator of the UP. Exec is the creator of UE (UnderEats). The two know each other well and are shown to even work together.

But there is definitely hostility between them too. Seems they disagree on some things.

Admin has no problem with the concept of UnderEats itself. He and Exec are both slaves to their desires and he understands that.

His issue with Exec is more along the lines of hypocrisy...
