Making comics are. Surprisingly fun??? Time consuming yes but fun! I like telling stories, and learning how to do so through comics makes the glee increase in me. I'd love to do a coloured one but like... Colour theory... Augh.......

I do have a planned ending for this short comic but it'll probably take a bit of time to get there cause I gotta figure out what goes in between....the struggles of writing. I've been thinking a lot about Look Outside recently, and I've seen a few posts floating around about how the theme of the game is kindness and generosity rewarding the player. And while yes, typically if you are kind and open the door for strangers or if you don't kill the roaches or if you sacrifice yourself instead of rat baby, you'll get more friends and more people joining your party. However, I don't think that's a core theme of the game. I think it's about what makes a monster a monster.

To start, the game isn't like Undertale in that how kind you are directly affects the ending. The game truly doesn't care how you play, whether you play more paranoid or if you go out of your way to make every friend you can find. There is no social consequences for killing people other than they won't be around in the future. No one cares, and especially the game itself doesn't care.

But asking the player what makes a monster? That's everywhere.

Early on, the game does a very good job with coupling the idea that looking outside = corrupted/transformed = non-human = dangerous. Your first instict when you see someone who has been infected or mutated is to fight, even if early on it's fighting back or risk being killed yourself. But then as the game progesses, it shows you more and more examples of people who have been exposed to the outside but who still have their wits. They don't look human, but they sure have their humanity still.

How many monsters did Sam (and the player) steamroll through because he thought they were hostile? How many people still had their minds but didn't have a mouth to tell Sam to stop?

What makes a monster? One who looks like one? Or one who acts like one?

The game wrestles with Sam's humanity. At one point, he talks to himself in the mirror, that what he's doing is wrong. That he's breaking and entering people's apartments to steal literally everything he can and then killing them in their own homes. Is he a monster himself? He doesn't look like one, he's not infected, and he had to do those things, right? Even as the player talks Sam through justifing Sam's actions, it helps plant the seed that being a monster is more than looks.

I do think it's fitting, then, that the arguably best ending doesn't care how many people you saved or spared, or how ruthless you were in the apatment building. If you successfully complete the ritual, you lose your humanity and become the biggest monster of all. The only change comes from choosing to become a monster in the mind as well. A miniature version of the Visitor that either saves everyone with his monstrous size and appearance, or slowly chokes the world out with his near-infinite reach.

(Not to mention the failed ritual ending where he becomes corrupted while staring at himself in the mirror, or the other endings where he directly introduces someone or something to the Visitor and causes the end of the world that way.)

Sam becomes a monster either way, and his actions help solidify the notion that they're more important than appearance.

There could be more said about how the majority, if not all, of the chatacters are bipoc and what it means to be a monster for them, that due to no choice of their own, society deems them dangerous because of how they look. But it's really late and I need to get to bed.

Something could also be said about covid and a pandemic and how society treats disabled people, but that's for another time. There's just so many layers to this game.

Ever since I became aware of Undertale i knew/know that some people here are simps for the lazybones that is sans thy skeleton. But ever since yesterday( or at least when i was checking a blog who's pretty prominent in the 'Bitty Bones' au stuff ) i now know a certain trend some people tend to use for their boney fantasies - 'Bara' sans. And then I had an idea. After a night and a morning passed with me brainstorming in the seams, i now have made a semi-sh1tpost, semi-genuine response AU to that trend :

The 'When Skeletons eat Bonemeal' au.

The basic idea is the following :

In another post-true pacifist world, Flowey tries to to a lil' trollin' by poisoning sans with a poison lasted ketchup bottle with a poison that Flowey made himself, but sans knew before hand, so he decided to swap an ingredient with magic liquid(-ish) bonemeal. On top of that he knew what would come out of it, which is a fcking growth serum AND he was secretly getting tiered of being the second to shortest person of the cast, he just didn't expect the side effects. Those side effects being the end result of 22 ft, clothes being effected, energy, power and magic multiplication, sudden medium burst of productivity, constant fever and slight mutation. Now the rest of the UT cast, along with a newly free [from thy void] Gaster, Dess from Deltarune and lil' ol' me, has to deal with a big ass skeleton.

Oh, the multiverse, omniverse( multiverse of fandoms w/multiverses ) and the webscape( the internet if it was a world of it's own and where 4th wall entities like me( viewers, content creators, gamers, players, ect. ) usually reside in ) are also sorta involved, which explains why core!Frisk, @ranboolivesaysstuff and fcking Charlie slimesicle have a cameo here -

[context of the cameo doodle - it's a protentional bit were i was unexpectedly visited by some MC-youtubers and i had to explain what the fck is up. During said explanation i accidently made a size pun, which made Charlie amused, in an annoying way. What did our gloopy glunkus guy do next - he bothered me for more size puns while trying to make his own. I also hid in a tree at some point and pretty much claimed it as a resting spot.]

So yeah, an undertale au with a giant/tiny sorta theme, which is also a response to the 'Bara sans' concept.

Overlawn - Some Trivia and Brief Location Information

Disclaimer: Overlawn does not belong to the original universe of Undertale or Plants vs. Zombies. Please do not regard its designs as the canon of the originals.

In Overlawn, zombies are a species that existed long ago and has long been extinct. the virus breaking out in 203X is able to mutate humans into creature similar to this species. this virus attacks their brain directly, making them almost lose the human thinking, infecting others through the desire for the brain. Certainly, a small number of people, after becoming zombies, still keep a certain level of mind and sobriety. It varies from person to person. Plants refers to a new type of creature cultivated by Crazy Dave, different from ordinary plants in nature, having self-consciousness like humans.

In Overlawn, property is a living thing's outstanding features, which do not easily change. Color of soul is the concretization of property, which is the color corresponding to the property itself. During a battle, a character will display the color corresponding to their property, regardless of whether they have a soul or not.

Tree of Wisdom

The source of the barrier, rising abruptly out of the ground after the war, creating a vast unidirectional barrier field.

It's said that as long as one can climb to the top of the tree, they can be transported to escape the barrier, but the cost is sacrifice a certain amount of the soul energy, which exceeds the soul energy storage of most creatures.

Taking a different path, enough soul energy can directly destroy the tree, but who can assure that after absorbing so much souls, the body will not collapse due to inability to withstand such powerful energy before destroying the tree?

Unsodded City (Ruins Replacement)

Locating in the original residence of the plants prewar. Its vegetation was severly damaged due to the war. Plants rebuilt a city on ruins.

Outside it there's a doubled city wall surrounding. Zombies after entering the city gate will walk between the two walls and be nearly impossible to notice the entrance to the residential areas.

In the early years, plants, due to the cost of the war, arranged puzzles everywhere between the city walls to defend zombies.

the top of the city wall consists of glass plates, which make it able to look up at the night sky.

Grassy Valley(Snowdin Replacement)

Not influenced by the war, still lush with green grass. During the king led plants to explore areas outside the Unsodded City, many plants relocated here.

Watery Grave & Mistery Mistory(Waterfall Replacement)

Once planned to be developed as an area telling history of plants culture. Due to some policy changes, a military stronghold was ultimately established there, but those which had been developed to an extent were preserved.

Roofool(Hotland Replacement)

A bustling metropoli. Entertainment center. Full monty.

Tree of Wisdom Jr(CORE Replacement)

Fertilizer developed by the lab led the growth of a new tree from the lateral roots of Tree ofWisdom, which solved the energy crisis of plants via its continuous release of energy.

The built-in defense system is the last line of defense to prevent zombies from approaching.

Endless.

Zen Garden(New Home Replacement)

A peaceful area abandoned for the growth of Tree of Wisdom Jr. The king and a unfamiliar caretaker is the only ones that stays and lives here.

“please do elaborate on your spirit gender headcanons” <- in tags from prev!

putting it beneath a read more as well because it got pretty lengthy whoops!

My hc for how spirits relate to gender kind of also builds off a few other hcs/theories about spirits!

The core one being what I gained doing a breakdown of Spenders spirit chart during the qna in this post. Which you DONT have to read, all you need to know is that in my understanding spirits can be created naturally but can also be mutated humanoid ghosts. Also I theorize/hc that a not insignificant amount of spirits specifically in town are the result of ambient energy radiation from The Great Wight.

The reason any of ^ that ^ matters is because I do think that an individual spirits proximity to humanity impacts their relation to the human concept of gender!

Generally speaking I think of the “default” for spirit gender ideology being the same as ghosts in Undertale? If that makes sense? For the most part it’s just assumed that spirits won’t care much for gender. I even hc that spirit languages like High Spirit are effectively genderless because of that.

But! Because we know that some spirits used to be humans and I personally theorize that some spirits in town are the biproducts of a larger spirit who is deeply in tune with the humans living in town. That human gender ideology has at least a little bit impacted various spirits!

For example, I think Forge being gender apathetic is probably one of the closest things a spirit would have to being “cis” in that context but due to his relationship with spectrals he isn’t opposed to their masculine gendering of himself. Like I imagine that at whatever point he primarily would’ve spoken High Spirit he wouldn’t have had any feelings toward human gender at all. But upon meeting June for example and being presented with the potential for masculine alignment he just kind of nodded and went along with that. So now in English he genders himself that way.

Where in a similar but kind of opposite way I think Nin is also technically closer to being “cis” by spirit standards! I view her as genderfluid because I think she does mostly identify with the same neutrality she knew before human influence. However! I think Doorman very readily identifies with the human concept of masculinity and while Nin would be staunchly against identifying with humans in like. Any capacity. I think her seeing someone like Doorman taking that and making it his own does open her up to explore how she feels about it. She settles on not being 100% sure and feeling kind of like it’s a moving target. She resonates with different aspects of different labels and presentations depending on how she’s feeling any given day. I still think she wouldn’t enjoy being gendered by a human though lol. Real “what are your pronouns” “do not refer to me” vibes

Then for Doorman I definitely think his relationship to masculinity was shaped by his time with Francisco. Prior to that he was fairly neutral towards it. I think of it being in the same vain as how I view Forge with June, except Doorman develops a fondness for the presentation rather than keeping that neutrality. And obviously Francisco and Doorman have differing views of masculinity because at the end of the day even people identifying with the same gender identity have differing experiences with it and present it in their own ways.

My thoughts on Cherub are less fleshed out unfortunately! I do think it’d be funny if she specifically grew fond of feminine identification by seeing an opportunity in the “weakness” associated with femininity in humans. If that makes any sense. Using sexism to her advantage. “She’s just a girl <3” energy. Also exploiting the associations of being a maternal figure to her followers. Basically what I’m saying is that I like the idea of her identifying with human femininity because she knows she can use it to fuck with humans lmao. But she also does just vibe with the label if she’s being serious.

Explaining The ULR Timeline

Underlust revisited much like the original Underlust au is split into different parts or eras.

Pre-War

Post-War/Pre-Eros

Eros Era

Post Eros Era/Reformation Era

Pre-War is identical to The classic Undertale Story/Classic Underlust Au so no need the re-explain that...

Post-War/Pre-Eros is were a change in canon happens...

First off Asriel is born but sadly doesn't make it past infancy and thus throws both the King and Queen into a depressive state. And not to long after the king couldn’t even properly rule and this depression like a virus spread across the underground causing not only a stagnation in productivity but also a decrease in the population. And Monsters were quickly becoming scarce in numbers and since the king couldn't bring himself to doing anything let alone lead a kingdom. Toriel took over all jurisdiction of the kingdom and passed the Eros Law is essentially made sex and the creation of offspring mandatory in the Underground.

Keep in mind Gaster had completed the Core by this time and began work on the creation of weapons to use against humans since before the king fell into a depression that was his last order to Gaster. Since the Queen passed the Eros law Gaster had to drastically change his experiments (Papyrus and Sans)

Alphys and MTT are friends already and mockups of his body are already being made but since the Eros Law happened MTT requested for a body more fitting to be a bit more sensual with. She then went from Classic MTT design to the Classic MTT Ex design.

Undyne had been training with Asgore but had to start training alone when the king fell into his depression. She then quickly had to change her training when the Royal Guard was essentially useless and turned into the Royal Harem.

Eros-Era(current Era) is the time period that the mutation in the monsters magic took full swing.

As monster began to shift to the new way of living a mutation in their magic occured the began to crave sex and it spread to everyone in the underground. The Queen noticed this but it was helping in the population increase so she saw it as a positive. 6 humans had fallen during this time and all of them had succumbed to the underground an die of the mutated magic of the monsters.

During this time Asgore started to use sex as a means to distract himself from his grief. Soon he had developed a kink to being dominanted and thus he didn't attempt to take reign over the kingdom again and leaving it to Toriel to keep ruling. Toriel loves the control and it soon manifested into her dominant kink.

During the mutation of magic(and before the 6 humans fell in the underground) Chara had fallen into the underground as a child. During this time in the underground they were sheltered from the outside world since it was nothing but sex and Toriel wanted to protect them from it for as long as she could but Charge had a different idea. Since they were essentially locked in the kingdom they would constantly leave the kingdom to satisfy their sexual hunger (they are like 20 at this point). They indulged themselves so much that they became addicted to sex and even more so the deviant kinks that were found. And as they became more addicted to sex they soon didn't care for the consent or comfort of their partners. This went on until Chara grew ill, the queen had no clue why and Chara's health depleted so quickly it was to late to find out and they die no more than a week into their sickness. (They died before the 6 humans fell down)

The queen grew bitter after the death of yet another child and soon stop even leaving the castle a well a governing the people. Soon taboos like r*pe and nonconsentual behaviors ran rapid in the underground.

Undyne was quickly made the lead of the Royal Harem and became a well know Dom (specialty pet play) she had become increasingly busy to prevent the assaults from happening but when the queen retreated into her castle it became so difficult to keep up and soon she had to expand the Royal harem to offer *ahem* alternatives to keep up with the growing sex drive of the underground as well as hopefully cut down on the number of assaults.

MTT was at the height of his career and he was popular to all in the underground. He was so popular that he had a growing number of "fans" that simply worshipped him. But one night after his show he was heading back home only to be attacked and assaulted by a group that had been stalking him for a while. He was so badly damaged after the attack that he had to retreat to alphys for repairs. Alphys was able to fix him up the best she could but couldn't change to much due to the damage it would cause to his soul and it was already cracked from the attack. She was able to edit some of his body but not a lot. This is start of MTT' fall in popularity and his depressive state and self loathing.

Gaster had made great progress on the editing of his sons to fit the new way of the underground. But he didn't give up on his old inventions, he continued working on his creation. He didn't meet a good end how ever he much like classic Gaster fell into his own creation and was wiped from existences. His sons left behind to fend on their own and flee to Snowdin to live.

Alphys had become the new Royal scientist and had been working on a cure for the mutation of magic at the time she saw the increase in sexual assaults and figured this cure would help it lowering them as well as returning some normalicy to the underground but when she was met with her friend destroyed and begging to be changed. She felt miserable she couldn't help him the way she needed to. Feeling it was her fault for make his body that way in the first place she soon locked herself in her lab and didn't leave unless she absolutely needed to thus is how she met Undyne and she being one of the one people she spoke to became her friend then soon crush.

(Flowey)Rosey had become sentient during the time Alphys was actively looking for a cure to the Magic Mutation. They had no previous memory of being Asriel since he only existence for less than a minute. Rosey went around the underground simply existing and occasionally talking to the residents including Chara. He had no soul/magic to mutate so he never craved sex or attached monster arousal. He soon settle in the Castle feeling a connection to the place and happily (and lonely) live in peace until on day a human fell down-

Current Day this is still in the Eros era until Frisk falls down marking this the start of the Reformation Era in which the underground is finally moving towards healing and growth.

Frisk is a 23 yr old College student. They are (Aroace- bi curious) and had planned to start experimenting in their sexuality to satisfy their curiosity. They were in the woods planning on going on a "date" but that changed when that had to a misstep an fell into the underground and the story begins here.

Nezeract Harbinger of the End [offical character info]

When the destabilisation of Endtale occurred, due to the artefacts of the multiverse a new being was born into the multiverse, created out of pure chaos and destruction.

The moment when it was born, the surface separate from Endtale seemed to shatter, they sky being plunged into a purple darkness. Nezeract was born and it seemed to shatter civilisation itself just from being born. The already broken and glitchy surface of Endtale seemed to all be vaguished at once, everything falling to Nezeract’s flames. But this isn’t the worst part, the humans seemed to mutate into these black crystallised abominations completely immune to magic. They seemed to make a shrine and city around the pool where Nezeract was created from creating a massive grand city of crystal. Not just humans were transformed but animals also, they became incredibly aggressive to anything not transformed and they are incredibly hard to kill, nothing seems to even put a dent in these abominations.

Nezeract seemed to get bored, wanting more the crystal humans of Endtale seemed to go into a panic and frenzy when they found there god had left them, there dark creator. Nezeract couldn’t care less easily passing through the barrier to the underground where they first met End, becoming accustomed to the multiverse and all of what it held. Nezeract however felt incomplete, something was missing.

Nezeract had pretended to become a friend of Endtale sans in his early years as judge of the multiverse, slowly gaining his trust trying to get rid of him so he could get his hands on the artefacts he was created from. Once the early guardian and destroyer Ebony and Brimstone attacked End nearly killing him I’m the process and End being scarred from having to kill them even though he didn’t want to. Nezeract saw this as a opportunity to manipulate End to getting rid of even more potential problems as well as End by making it look like he’s stepped out of line. Nezeract convinced End that the early guardians and destoyers of the multiverse were too dangerous to exist and helped end make the designs for what would become the CREATE and DESTROY button. He got End to teleport all of the guardians and destoyers to the realm of the end and then used a machine to convert all of them painfully into multiversal magic of both creativity and destruction before pouring piping it into the buttons sealing off there power to be used as a tool.

Endtale Gaster seeing this was outraged and locked Endtale sans away within the core of the multiverse, for 3000 years, also ripping out Nezeract’s heart within that period of time after learning his involvement with End and what he was true intentions were storing it in the multiverse prison. He also saw over the events that would have End released from the multiverse core by purposely sending error to Endtale along with ink to release End from his imprisonment.

Nezeract however still being locked within the multiversal prison was able to project enough of his power within the dark multiverse, promising one of its residents the original sans(aka) dark matter that he could stop his multiverse from decaying if he helped him. Dark matter is let through the seal to the original multiverse we know so well. Dark matter did a prison break retrieving Nezeract’s heart and bringing it to his birthplace reviving him.

This is where the story of the comic really starts with the villain.

Nezeract Harbinger of the End details:

Nezeract is a soulless being, born of corruption and darkness.

There heart is there only vulnerable point, incased in a crystal body immune to magic and can only be broken and harmed by multiversal magic which is only gifted to those the multiversal artefacts deem worthy. On the crystal body his flames are ever lasting and if touched by someone not strong enough to fight them. Will devour them from existence itself. Nezeract has several different forms when absorbing the power of the artefacts. His goal wipe out the multiverse and everything Undertale related. To devour everything. To see it all burn away to ashes. He hungers for creation. He is a being who is not bound to the multiverse he is created in, if he gets those artefacts he gets to make the rules of the multiverse, he can change them he becomes the rule maker. Effectively a god. Able to wipe everything we know away with a thought.

Nezeract’s personality is unstable, one minute he could be trying to make friends with you and cracking jokes, the next he could be making you watch everything you love fade away. He is generally unpredictable and is very easy to set off.

Nezeract’s design he has several different forms/phases when absorbing the artefacts.

Phase 0.

Nezeract phase 0 is just a lower opacity Nezeract without his heart.

Phase 1 and phase 2. Drawn by @desktopdinosaur (could be subject to change the eyes and mouth are meant to be purple and fire meant to be more purplish black) phase 1 is when he has his heart phase 2 is when he’s absorbed one artefact of the multiverse.

Nezeract phase 3 and four are mostly the same but the antlers are more pronounced and large and made of jagged black crystals in phase 4. Phase 3 is when he’s absorbed the second artefact of the multiverse, phase 4 is when he becomes perfect and he’s absorbed all 3 artefacts.

Nezeract facts and trivia:

*Nezeract does have arms he just doesn’t show them in his body much, there long with hands with sharp fingers retaining the fire propities of his body.

*Nezeract at phase 4 power- could totally mollywop 404 and omnipotent powered beings like it’s childplay, he’s beyond multiverse level and pretty much when he hits phase 4 he can be as powerful as the story allows it to be.

*Nezeract does enjoy coffee, and will generally ask other bad guys to sit down and enjoy a good drink and chatter with them.

*Nezeract isn’t bound to the multiverse and can move to others or elsewhere to other fandoms if he wanted, he for some reason prefers the Undertale one.

*Nezeract can shape shift.

*Nezeracts crystal body can only be hurt by multiversal magic unique to people like End and Endtale Gaster bestowed by the artefacts.

*Nezeract phase 4 has total domination over the multiverse, he is above beings like omnipotent sans at that point. He isn’t effected by reality warping or anything of the sort. He is something beyond the multiverse at that point.

*his heart is his vulnerable spot but it’s incased within his crystal body.

*his attacks consist of black crystal structures and various brutal and physical attacks.

*Its going to take everything the fandoms got to take him down, plus a little plot convience and tricky.

I saw your Undertale mini-review and noticed that you implied that you thought that Alphys could have been handled better as a character. How would you have gone about it? (Sorry if this question is two years late)

Alphys has a number of problems. The biggest one is that she is preceded by Papyrus in Snowdin and Undyne in Waterfall, both of whom are infinitely more fun and interesting characters, despite not having as much depth. They feel like real people, and they are good people who try their hardest, which makes them very likeable.

I would say Hotland is the weakest area in the game, and Alphys is by far the weakest of the three area-specific characters, so when they’re coupled together the game takes a slight dip in quality. Unlike with the previous area-character combos, Alphys does not add to her locale in any significant way, mechanically or aesthetically.

Papyrus is a loveable goofball who functions as the first main antagonist and sets up traps and lots of really funny moments. He’s a great way of really cementing the “hey you shouldn’t kill these monsters if you don’t want, some of them are cool guys” concept of the game into the players’ heads early on if they hadn’t already picked up the full extent of the Mercy mechanic.

Undyne is a chaser boss who functions as a walking trap and an intimidating game mechanic throughout all of Waterfall. She also has a clever boss fight that plays with the run function. Undyne is the game reminding the player that there are significant challenges ahead and that Mercy may not always be the easiest option.

Alphys is exclusively a walking obstacle. She is technically Hotland’s main antagonist since she is purposefully luring the player into danger, but it doesn’t serve the story in any way. She isn’t doing it for Asgore or the sake of the monsters or to better the player in some way, she’s doing it because she wants to be able to swoop in and save the player at the last minute so she can feel better about herself. More about that later.

Hotland itself has very little to do with Alphys and feels very sparse and empty compared to the last two areas. While Waterfall was mostly empty, it still felt very much alive. Hotland just feels like a VIDEO GAME LEVEL for the sake of it. Perhaps this was on purpose, but personally I feel it was a weak decision.

If I were tasked to solve this problem I would probably cut Alphys entirely and make Mettaton the third main big character and I would’ve merged the Hotel, Hotland, and the Core together for one final area before New Home.

Alphys would’ve been fine as some old failure of a scientist exclusive to the True Lab who had become a recluse there after her failures with the other monsters. Actually I think that’d be a better place for her overall. I don’t think her relationship with Undyne adds much to the game, nor do I think it really makes sense, to be honest. I can understand why Alphys would like Undyne but the relationship seems weird to me the other way around. Personally I don’t buy that Undyne would like Alphys that much. If I recall correctly, Undyne has a passing line about how she “really admires Alphys’s passion for her work”, but that’s not a quality I remember being present in the game at all. I’m all for cute lesbian couples but I felt like the Alphys/Undyne date detour kind of detracted from the endgame’s focus a little bit and honestly following up “Alphys isn’t all bad, date her!” with “Also she genetically mutated these corpses and keeps them in their basement” feels like a VERY weird order to tell that story in. Like, I kinda wanna warn Undyne, y’know?

Alphys is all about lying to people and selective truths so she can impress them and so she will seem like a better person in their eyes. She lies to the protagonist about Mettaton being a killing machine. She tells Undyne anime is human history so she’ll hang out and watch it with her. She purposefully leaves Mettaton’s special body incomplete because she’s afraid he’ll stop hanging with her when she finishes. Asgore hires her as the royal scientist because he thinks she knows how Souls work when really she just put a ghost into a robot’s body. She does not correct him, nor does she tell him or the monster families what happened with their dead relatives’ bodies. Which is pretty fucked up, to be honest.

I don’t think Alphys is necessarily a poorly written character, but I do think she’s a poorly utilized one. Especially when she’s depicted as being as sympathetic as Undyne and Papyrus are, which-- at least in my opinion-- is not the case at all. Almost all of her problems are her own doing and some of them are REAL fucked up problems that I don’t really think the game addressed very well since the last two times you see Alphys before the final boss are “Cute date kawaii uguu~” and “Oops genetic war crime science in my basement ha ha I’m going insane”. Kind of... dissonant there.

tl;drHotland is boring and Alyphs isn’t sympathetic and I think the game would be a little better if they condensed Hotland/Hotel/CORE into one better-designed location with Mettaton as the main antagonist throughout and with Alphys moved exclusively to the True Lab.

Toontale AU

I came up with this AU out of nowhere and I REALLY wanted to post it. This is an Undertale AU that replaces everyone with cartoon characters from Disney, Felix the Cat, Fleischer Studios, Tom & Jerry, Looney Tunes, Cuphead, and Bendy and the Ink Machine. There may be more later, but for now I’ve only really decided on the major characters and mini bosses and a couple other characters. Before I go crazy and get into the meat of this, I just wanna say that if you like this AU and want to make something from it (like fanart or a story), feel 100% free! Of course this is kind of an odd AU so I doubt it’s going to be popular or anything, but I’d really be thrilled to bits if anyone liked it.

For those who don’t know, Gelatoni and Duffy are Disney park mascots. I didn’t think it made sense to make human toons as Frisk and Chara, because they’d still be toons. But Duffy and Gelatoni are mascots, so I figured I would make them human-toon hybrids (since mascots are, like, humans inside cartoony suits). Also, you may notice that there are no girls. I didn’t do that on purpose, but by the time I’d noticed it I was almost done and I didn’t see any point in throwing them in. There are female characters, but none of them are major. I’d also like to point out that A. Mickey and Oswald are brothers by adoption, NOT married B. Bendy and Boris are childhood friends C. Cuphead and Mugman are still brothers, and no they’re not going to date.

I’ve also decided on locations, most of which being Disney themed (and most of those are from the Epic Mickey series), and several are technically a couple of different places put together.

In Epic Mickey, “The Wasteland” is the entire world, but in this AU it’s more or less just a wrecked OsTown. Mickeyjunk Mountain is a trash heap full of Mickey merch on the surface. The Rainbow Caverns are similar to the Epic Mickey 2 level, but there is snow, and the crystal statues are now ice. Inkwell Falls is pretty much an amalgam of the Cuphead hub worlds. Small Village is essentially the Gremlin Village from Epic Mickey. The Workshop is based off of Bendy and the Ink Machine, and the titular machine is also inside. Beauty Castle is based off of Dark Beauty Castle from Epic Mickey, but it’s, y'know, not dark.

And now for the verrrrry long background information:

Many years ago, humans and toons lived in harmony. Humans allowed toons to make entertaining things for them, but didn’t like the idea of toons getting equal rights. A war between humans and toons broke out because of this, and the humans won. The toons were sealed deep underground by the sorcerer Yen Sid; however, some toons had already made children with humans, leaving a few interspecies beings on the surface. In the underground, Mickey Mouse was elected ruler of the toons because of his reputation on the surface, and his adopted brother Oswald served as his second-in-command. Together, they forged the toons’ home, OsTown (named after Oswald). Mickey hired Ludwig Von Drake to serve as the royal scientist, because he believed that Ludwig could find a way to break the magic barrier. During this time, Mickey’s sister passed away during childbirth, killing one of her twin children. The surviving twin was sent to live with Mickey and Oswald, who named him Morty and raised him. One day, however, someone fell down into the underground. Duffy, a human-toon hybrid from the surface, was taken in by Mickey and Oswald as well, and he became friends with Morty. Duffy never liked humans, and seemed to think they were all rotten. Duffy had a plan to take back the surface for the monsters, but he needed Morty to take his soul in order for their plan to work. Morty was extremely hesitant and did not want to carry out their plan, but Duffy carried his end by getting sick and dying. Seeing no other choice, Morty absorbed Duffy’s soul, becoming possessed by Duffy in the process. They went to the surface together, but were immediately attacked by frightened humans. They returned to the underground and died in a field of flowers. Mickey and Oswald were both horribly distraught, and Mickey was driven into a mental corner.

Ludwig had discovered that seven human (or human-toon hybrid) souls could break the barrier for good. Mickey decided that the best course of action was to kill any human who came to the underground. Oswald was disgusted by this notion, and so he and Mickey went their separate ways. Mickey and most of the other toons expanded the kingdom, while Oswald remained in OsTown, later to be known as the Wasteland. While Ludwig had been commemorated for creating the artificial intelligence Toodles, he was still not satisfied and wanted to find a way to efficiently power the entire underground. He began construction on the Ink Machine, a machine that would power toons’ homes and devices with the power of raw ink. However, Ludwig fell into the depths of his creation and perished. Mickey insisted that his work be finished, and so the Ink Machine was completed and worked just as Ludwig had hoped. With Ludwig dead, Mickey needed a new royal scientist. Mugman knew this, so he decided to prove himself worthy by healing the heavily injured Felix and granting him strange new powers. Just as Mugman had hoped, Mickey was very impressed by Felix, who went on to become famous in the underground as the only celebrity. Mickey hired Mugman as the new royal scientist. Mugman’s first task was to tackle the question of immortality and the human soul trait “Determination”. He experimented with it on the donated bodies of deceased toons, but the results were horrifying; the bodies melded together and mutated. Mugman was ashamed to show anyone what he had done, so he locked them all down in a secret laboratory and continued to desperately search for a solution. He began another experiment to test Determination on an inanimate object. He used Morty’s favorite stuffed dog, Pluto. Unbeknownst to him, however, Pluto had been sprinkled with Morty’s ashes, and when Mugman fused Pluto with the Determination, Morty’s essence was also added. This caused Morty to return to life as Pluto. Terrified, Morty went to find Mickey. Mickey promised Morty that he would take care of him, no matter what. Unfortunately, Morty had lost all sense of apathy. As time went on and Morty failed to save the fallen humans, he felt less and less remorse for them. He had discovered long ago that he could reverse time and do whatever he wished, so he began killing toons; even Mickey. Morty was never quite satisfied with these kills, and his bitterness and hatred grew with his strength as he killed more and more and reversed time to bring them back.

In the meantime, Mugman’s older brother, Cuphead, became increasingly worried about him. Since he was told not to visit him, Cuphead instead decided to pull his own weight by joining the Royal Guard. Mickey accepted Cuphead, and even trained with him. Soon enough, Cuphead was promoted to the head of the Royal Guard, and was integral in the hunt for human souls. A demon and wolf pair suddenly emerged in the Rainbow Caverns, claiming to be childhood friends and new residents. Nobody knew where the two came from, or why they had no color, but they accepted them regardless. The wolf, Boris, was determined to join the Royal Guard and constantly asked Cuphead to train with him. While Cuphead admired Boris’s spirit and strength, he didn’t have the heart to tell him that he was too soft to be a member of the Royal Guard. Cuphead continues to train Boris, while the demon, Bendy, appears to be idle. Within a few years, an eighth child fell into the underground; another human-toon hybrid named Gelatoni.

Gave them a little snaggle tooth:] mainly apparently because all the humans I've drawn have non-perfect teeth (Frisk-Missing Tooth, Chara-Tooth Gap, and now Clover with a snaggle tooth). Also, expressions are fun!

Martlettttt! I have her vague design in my head but I'm still struggling with her unfortunately. I think it's the wings and feathers and stuff mostly.

North Star! I am. Trying to figure out how I want to draw him in the au. It is annoyingly difficult. But uh, yeah, love him anyways, even if these are not good (they're barely different from regular Starlo)

It's also good practise for posing! Anatomy is. Haha. Hard to say the least. So trying to draw two characters leaning on each other or something similar can be really difficult. But I'm pretty happy about how these drawings turned out!

Clover in a dress! I was inspired by a post with an au older version of clover (as in, adult, not a teenager like my aged up version is) and it made me want to draw my Clover in a dress:) I think they look pretty^^

Also, might make it digital at some point, but for now, it's traditional. And I really like how it turned out:)

i am working on an idea between Sayrus and Zach, yus. 

Im not perfectly clear on Batter’s physiology so im uncertain how he and one of my boys would turn out fused. although i have not not thought about it heheh

To be honest im not sure Sayrus would be capable of a fusion with Batter. Sayrus’ brand of fusion is soul-based and comes from fusing two beings’ core being into one. Batter does not... havea soul, so, tis a bit of a mystery. probably wont stop me from playing with fusion ideas, though.

Koyol and fuse with other creatures in a multitude of ways thanks to his Universal Emerald- his form can change dramatically so if he cant fuse with someone in his Original Form (by fusing ‘Energies’ as he would call it), he can fuse in other ways- like going to his Undertale Form so he can fuse with Monsters, or his Gem Form to fuse with gem creatures. Im sure there’s some way he can fuse with anything, especially considering his Original Form is mutatable and can bind with other life form’s frequencies- as he’s call it, again, he can fuse with Anything that has a Living Energy.

Kids and my AU Flowey + Extra

Raaah more Undertale au art upon thee!! I love my silly au<33 but this time it isn't just the au- (which is called Mutated Cores) but I'll talk about that last. Anyway talking about the drawings and characters under the cut to save space, which will also have cropped versions of the image<3

First, I'll talk about my AU version of Flowey the Flower. Look at this silly mf

He's MUCH bigger. Context: Frisk is 10 years old!(A little short for their age, but yk) "Normal flower size" is how big he used to be. He's still got the same personality as og Flowey though.

Anyway, I made an OC! And drew Clover!! The OC is the integrity soul, the soul that fell before Clover! Her name is Quaver (Eighth note) and they go by She/They pronouns^^ (oh, and, she's clover's older sister^^)

Btw individual closeups of Clover and Quaver cause I feel like it<3

She fell into the underground when she was 13, and when Clover was 7, Clover going to the underground 4 years later, when they were 11.

Man, I wonder why two siblings both fell in the underground. Definitely had nothing to do with their shitty parents 👁️👁️(headcanon of mine for clover considering things said in undertale yellow, but their main reason was still to do with the fallen humans ofc)

Also mini comic?? Wanted to draw my au Clover and Quaver together (as I unintentionally made certain things of their hair very similar which I found neat and wanted to compare them) and it turned out as lighting/shading practice. So proud of myself bro<3 (did not wanna draw that background tho lmao)

Also ended up drawing Starlo and Frisk for it too (I was gonna draw Chara too but I didn't know what to do for em) so ye😋

Mutated Cores: Undertale Yellow edition! +Flowey n Clover comic

Really enjoyed making this:) Undertale has a tight grip on me right now, especially Undertale yellow, so getting to draw them makes me very happy

Cause of that, I made a little comic too! I might continue it, I really enjoyed making it haha:)

Flowey! The not so little jerk in this au:) in the full drawing, he's not exactly tall enough to match clovers height, but he's definitely big enough to intimidate a child! Especially frisk, who is smaller than him!

Clover!!!!! I love clover!!!! Hadn't made their full body drawing yet, so here it is!!!! Love them so much<33 they're the character I've drawn the most of in this au, so they deserved it haha! They're 16 years old in this au, but still quite responsible, if sometimes a little reckless with their life at times. Clover might not actually end up being 5"6 specifically, but they're around that height:)

Martlet! First design for her, might not be final, but I really like it right now:)) her colours are quite a bit darker than her sprite and such, but I like it^^

(Also did a drawing of Martlet's arm test how I'd want to draw them in the future but anyway) next is North Star/Starlo! I dulled his colours slightly, (and also gave him a tail cause I've seen a lot of designs that give him a tail, and they're so cute) and also decided on his rough height. (I had looked at height comparison site when deciding this) so he was 6"6 before the mutation, but is currently 7"2:)

Here's some doodles of my AU Clover!

Some of these drawings are older then when I decided on a concrete age for them (16yrs) and knew how exactly I wanted to draw their hair. Others are more recent(and thus more consistent)

(also including Clover with their hair tied up cause why not. I think it looks cute^^)

Starlo (along with Martlet and Ceroba, and Dalv too ig) are like Clover's adoptive parents in this au! But uh, anyway, hair ruffles<33
