His skills are the parts of his brain all fighting for a spot to be heard.#And I really loved how your party in disco elysium was your skills (aka: YOU).#So Fourfold Soul's whole hook is that you are fighting with yourself. Both alongside and against!#It's human nature to feel internal conflict and struggle between the parts of you that want different things.#And no part is necessarily better or wrong. It has its time and place!#I'm an electrochem defender btw. My guy loves sandwiches and sunsets just as much as booze and snooze.#The part of your brain that seeks reward and excitement just wants you to be happy! But it also has to be reeled in at times.#I realized in posting this I haven't posted any of my DE Skill designs before. An aunt from the States is visiting this week and she brought some gifts for me, which is ten bone china teacups and a couple shelves that are specifically for displaying teacups 😍 the part of my soul that is a 70-year-old lady is very happy this week

biggest reason alamanni does not have any Actual magic is because thinking of a single unique magic system is hard enough already

#trying to come up w something unique for the bug things magic now AUGHH. maybe it is more cerebral (entirely building off the tiny idea--#--that mages will crack open their heads to expose more of their brain to the air bc that helps the flow of spells or smth bc it would--#--look cool lol) and grand epiphanies can act as their own sorts of spells. bc the idea of a thought cabinet (WILL come up w a name that--#--not a blatant disco game rip off) full of marys different Realizations that can be used as both a way to see character development--#--and cast spells is fun. he realizes despite their differing backgrounds him and marie are just abt the same person and unlocks the--#--ability to empathize with other ppl LOL #mary idea. he fell real hard a couple years ago and FUCKED up his carapace exposing a bit of his brain but he doesnt want to be--#--a mage goddamnit he wants to be able to focus in the way he used to so he can keep writing. grits my teeth and smiles this is not--#--personal at ALL

(Character is forced to destroy the thing that they love, not because they've stopped loving it, but because that thing has slowly transformed into something entirely different from what it once was, and there comes a point when they realize they cannot love that new thing)
