I'm here!

Wow. That is my initial reaction. I have spent so long dreaming about this day and it finally arrived. Earlier this week, my mother drove me to campus and we said our goodbyes. Now, I am writing to you from my dorm bed. These past few days have been full of fun events, anxious nights, and bittersweet days. Being a freshman in college is actually insane! There is so much I want to share, but let's start with this ... I am a single person living in a triple. Cue the fun times!

I know I already posted that I got into grad school and the school of my dreams, but I just wanted to post this as a reminder to myself whenever I’m feeling defeated or I feel like giving up; I’m going to look at this as a reminder that I can do anything I put my mind to. Anything. When times get tough or hard, I want to look back at this and show myself that I did this on my own and I can get through any obstacles in my way, no matter how hard they may seem at the moment. I also wanted to post this in hopes of inspiring others around me, my family, my friends, my coworkers and anyone in between that anything is possible if you put your mind to it, and continue to work hard and persevere. In hopes of not sounding conceded, for the first time in a long time, I can say how proud I am and this is a major confidence boost. I will no longer doubt myself or anything I do, because I know I can do it. Well, well, after 40 years of trying it is happening I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management this Saturday, April 24, 2022. It has been a long adventurist road. Six children that are all doing so well, I such a proud mom. This means so much to me, I would like to share a story. When I was a mean angry teenager, I fought with my mom about everything and refused to go to school. My mom begged me to stay in school. Mom died shortly after my 17th birthday and I just dropped out. I tried and tried until I did go back to school and I am getting my degree. I found out recently why it was so important to mom why she wanted me to graduate. When mom’s mom passed away when she was 14, she and her siblings all dropped out of school. Mom was the only one to go back and she was the only one that graduated from high school. To mom My mind still talks to you. My heart still looks for you, but my soul knows you’re at peace.
