As you may know, Black Clover is having an online exhibition. If you look at it here (has to be on mobile though) you see 0/20 and 0% in the corner. I saw the screenshots that some people shared also have zeroes and wondered... After some clicking around and struggling with Japanese, I’ve gotten a full score :D
So for those who want to know what to do, or can’t see the exhibition yourself for whatever reason, I’ve made a walkthrough that’s what it’s called right?
First, you’re asked to please turn on the sound and enjoy. There’s an ON and OFF option
Devil Possessed Work Is On Display. DEVILS AND ~THE DON’T GIVE UP MAGICAL EXHIBIT~ Black Clover 6th Year Anniversary Celebration
The Spade Kingdom’s evil devil hosts have set their hands on Black Clover’s online exhibition, the “Don’t Give Up Magical Exhibit”, from the 5th year anniversary celebration!? Only the “devil-possessed works” were shining a suspicious light in the transformed exhibition hall.
[yellow/gold box] To the Devils and Don’t Give Up Magical Exhibit >>
Asta has newly awakened devil power!? -- Together with the devil Liebe, get power to confront the invasion of the Spade Kingdom, including the Dark Triad!
[white/silver box] To the Don’t Give Up Magical Exhibit >>
Complete Revival of the “Won’t Give Up Magical Exhibit”!? -- Because of the Spade Kingdom’s invasion, the “Don’t Give Up Magical Exhibit” has ended up in miserable condition, but Nero’s sealing magic has succeeded in completely returning it to the way it used to be! Let’s dive into the work and explore Asta and friend’s “won’t give up magic”
I recommend starting with the previous year’s exhibit, so flip your phone to the side and click the white box with Nero on the corner..~
A little tutorial: you can click in the picture frames, swipe, and pinch the screen. Nero says “I’ll tell you if you get lost. Don’t worry.”
“Not giving up magic” isn’t only Asta’s magic.
Everyone who supported Black Clover will surely have the power of “not giving up magic.” Now, with your magic power, let’s dive into the world of Black Clover’s story.
PROMISE -- 約束 (yakusoku) -- The source of the power of Asta’s “not giving up magic” was a “promise” with his rival, who pursues the dream that they can never give up on, called “to become the Wizard King.”
Nero says “Tap the framed picture.”
This causes a little manga movie to play - about Asta and Yuno of course. Their promise, words exchanged at the dungeon, that time they saved Hage, and times they fought side by side in the Elf Arc are shown. When it comes to an end, it displays this manga spread:
Nero says “Tap the demon’s bones...”
This plays a manga movie about Licht’s and Lumiere’s tragic battle...
Nero says “Tap the icon on the upper left to return to the original world.”
You’ll be taken back the Promise screen and should now have 1/20 at the bottom corner
PRIDE -- 誇り (hokori) -- Magic Knight Squads that protect the world with magical power. The Wizard King with the magic knight captains whom he brings together. It is that “pride” built up due to their overwhelming achievements that is the source of power.
Again, tap the framed pictures. A slideshow of their most prominent moments (before the timeskip) play. At the end is a panel of their most impressive spell at least that’s what I think they were trying to do here?
Nero says “You want to know more about your comrades right”
Tap the yellow button next to her (it says “see details+”). This pops up:
At the top is their type of magic. Then a short description about them. The rest is mostly stats that were already in their manga profile’s + a little extra. In order it’s: {their name ☘, age, height, birthday, sign, blood type, favorite thing, birthplace, and rank}
Yami’s birthplace is the Land of the Sun; Dorothy’s is the Witch’s Forest; Jack’s is in the Common Realm; everyone else was born in the Noble Realm
COMPLEX -- 劣等感 (rettoukan) -- A person who can deal with their “inferiority complex” is also a blessed person who has the chance to become stronger than anyone else.
*note: the kanji specifically refers to “inferiority complex”
A manga movie about her struggles with magic plays, then switches to this:
Nero says “Pinch out and move forward.”
As you “zoom in” panels of Noelle’s development with spells, from Sea Dragon’s Lair to Valkyrie Dress, rotate around, ending with:
“I... won....!!”
FRIENDSHIP -- 絆 (kizuna) -- For their precious friends, sometimes a person can even go as far as surpassing their limits. A magic blow vested with the “bonds” of friends has defeated any despair.
*note: the kanji means “bonds (between people)”
Nero says “If you look at all the framed pictures of bonds…”
When you click on each framed picture, you get panels like in the Complex section but these one’s don’t rotate
It focuses on an important fight for each Black Bull, I think one that emphasizes their bonds with someone and/or teamwork. Magna & Luck share framed pictures; Gauche, Gordon, Grey and Henry share another. Usually at the end you see the kanji for their magic attribute (Charmy’s ends with “food magic”)
Like with the captains, there’s also a panel of them looking impressive. Again, Nero says “You want to learn more about your friends right.”
At the top is their name, description about them, then Profile ☘ and stats in the same order as the captain’s in the Pride section. I want to note that Charmy’s birthplace is literally “?”
But Before You Finish Looking At All The Frames-!! swipe left and take a look 👀
Try to tap this~ Nero says “If you look at all the framed pictures, there will be something good.”
After you watch the 8th one, you’ll find that the middle frame has lit up
“Tap the framed picture” Nero says. A manga movie about the Black Bulls plays, showing their good and awesome times, then ending in the group shot of when they busted in during Asta’s and Nero’s trial --but wait!! there’s more!!!
We’re moving left-?! Omg SECRE-!??
“Well done, you undid the seal.”
“I will undo the seal with my magic.”
Sealing Magic
Inverse Release
LOVE -- 愛 (ai) -- The magic of Black Clover has been sustained by the “love” of everyone who continuously supported all the characters, including Asta and Yuno, and this story. Thank you very much for so much “love.”
That’s right: you just unlocked Love :’)
Tapping it opens up a high-quality image that you can download for yourself.
Nero says “It’s a commemorative wallpaper. It’s yours.”
☘ Instant Posting Magic ☘ Let’s share with everyone that we came to play Black Clover’s 5th anniversary project “Never Giving Up Magic” 📖 Use Instant Posting Magic
Tapping that opens up twitter. Nero says “Post in celebration.”
--but wait! there’s even more!! swipe one more time 👀
Zenon, what are you doing here? staring at a framed picture of the Heart Kingdom... Tap it, Nero says
oh shit
a preview of volume 25 plays
Click Here For Part 2~! ☠
※✧※
*Disclaimer: The exhibit used 諦めない魔法 (akiramenai mahou). Akiramenai is the negative form of the verb akirameru "to give up" and mahou is "magic." It's definitely a reference to Asta's "my magic is never giving up" line, and I guess it could be translated as "magic that doesn't give up" but doesn't that make it sound like he has magic? This becomes more of an issue when they begin to apply it to others beside Asta... So yeah, sorry that sounds awkward. Also depending on context and because I got tired of repeating the same phrase I changed the form from "don't give up" to "not giving up" and others.
I was using google translate quite a bit, after I looked up kanji by parts because I couldn't copy-paste the pictures (it was decent practice; I think I can totally identify the word "not giving up" now). This isn't an official release, but I did try to clean things up to at least sound coherent and give you a better idea of what's going on.

This Google AI Music Will Freak You the Hell Out
Photo: ESB Professional (Shutterstock)
If you’ve played around with ChatGPT at all, you know how impressive (and terrifying) AI can be. ChatGPT can generate just about anything you ask it to, with prompts as simple or as complex as you can think of. Well, Google has figured out how to do the same. But rather than spit out poems or computer programs, Google’s AI writes music, and you can preview its creations right now.
Google’s AI, dubbed MusicLM, is designed to produce multiple minutes of high-quality music based on text prompts. While AI music isn’t necessarily new, the company claims its program produces tracks that are more accurate to the initial text prompt and are better quality than previous models. Big claims, of course. But, based on these previews, they might just live up to them.
The first batch demonstrates how MusicLM can generate music from rich captions, similar to how OpenAI’s ChatGPT generates its famous responses from user requests. Google can feed MusicLM a caption, such as, “The main soundtrack of an arcade game. It is fast-paced and upbeat, with a catchy electric guitar riff. The music is repetitive and easy to remember, but with unexpected sounds, like cymbal crashes or drum rolls,” and the AI will process a track that meets those criteria.
My personal favorite from this section is the song generated from “Funky piece with a strong, danceable beat and a prominent bassline. A catchy melody from a keyboard adds a layer of richness and complexity to the song” on the second page, which sounds like something out of Stardew Valley.
Where uncanny valley really sets in, though, is whenever Google asks MusicLM to produce vocals. Many of Google’s examples here have AI vocals, and while some of them sound “computerish” for lack of a better word, others sound a little too close to home. When you listen with the full knowledge that the voice is 100% artificial, it’s a bit unsettling. Google even asked MusicLM to generate a rap track, and, to be honest, the “rapping” is eerily realistic, even if none of the words they’re rapping are real.

The Lyma Supplement
10 ingredients. One super-supplement. Lyma makes the next generation of supplements—peer-reviewed and formulated to unlock your potential.
If you really want to be creeped out, scroll down to the “Text and Melody Conditioning.” Here, you can hear a series of voices and instruments doing their best with different melodies, and the results are wild. The very first option sees MusicLM humming “Bella Ciao,” and it sounds way too good. Side note: The “Tribal drums and flute” version is giving White Lotus.
We also have “Long Generation,” which produces five-minute long tracks from short descriptions, like “melodic techno” or “relaxing jazz.” But things get really interesting with “Story Mode.” Google feeds MusicML multiple captions, and the AI adjusts the song based on the given caption. It starts with 15 seconds based on “time to meditate,” before the caption switches to “time to wake up.” The music smoothly changes in tune, as if it was starting up a new verse, with some creepy vocals to boot.
Creepy vocals aside, it’s fascinating to see the AI alter the song without having to change the song. For the most part, it incorporates the new caption into the song, without feeling like you’re jumping into a new tune altogether. It’s particularly impressive with the third example, which sees the AI jump from “pop song” to “rock song” to “death metal song.” While “rock song” doesn’t particularly sound like rock, “death metal song” is simply fantastic. I imagine AI Death will be a big hit with metal heads.
Another interesting experiment Google did was feed MusicLM descriptions of famous paintings to see what music it would produce. If you ever wanted to know what Vincent Van Gogh’s “The Starry Night” would sound like as a song, well, now’s your chance. It’s also fascinating to click through how MusicLM generates specific instrument and genre sounds. The electric guitar is on point, as is “British Indie Rock,” complete with a dramatic turn at the end of the preview.
There’s more to explore from this limited preview of MusicLM, too, from “Accordion Solos” to comparing different results from the same prompt. Google also published a 15-page research piece on MusicLM, if you’re interested in reading the technical details of the system. While I hope the company releases a beta for the public to try, browsing through these samples is the next best thing.

3. Upwork
For businesses and contractors
Upwork connects businesses with expert freelancers around the world. For 20 years, this freelance platform has helped businesses access a global talent pool to explore and hire freelancers, independent professionals, and agencies.
Upwork provides freelancers with a platform to share and market their skills in areas like app development, design, content writing, SEO, social media marketing, and more.
Freelancers develop their individual pages that include information like bios, a photo, resumes, a set rate, certifications, or skills. On each profile is a job success score, stats such as a number of clients and completed projects, and reviews from past clients.
By creating different profiles, freelancers can feature the work they do best. For example, the same freelancer might promote a graphic design profile that showcases recent design work and a creative writing profile that includes clips from recent articles and blog posts. This helps potential clients to search for freelance profiles by skill and determine, based on the displayed work, if that freelancer is a good match for the proposed job.
Businesses post a job and wait for freelancers to bid on the job. Within that job posting, businesses can tag specific skills they prefer, set an hourly or one-time rate, set a skill level, provide basic job information, and give a proposed deadline. Businesses also can search for freelancer profiles and invite someone specific with the necessary skills to consider the job that’s posted.
This platform is a one-stop-shop that makes remote work easy. It enables businesses and freelancers to collaborate on one platform that includes a chat function, video calls, file sharing, and payments with hourly or fixed rates. Everything can be done in one place on the desktop or through the app.
Additionally, Upwork offers tools for staffing services, pre-packaged projects, managing services, and more to help businesses manage their projects.
Through numerous partnerships, Upwork also offers services that help freelancers and businesses grow. Platforms like Coursera and SkillShare offer professional development opportunities, while HonestDollar guides contractors through a user-friendly Individual Retirement Account. Regular webinars provide information on topics such as launching your own agency or tips for excellent remote working experience.
With the connections, tools, and services offered through Upwork, it’s no wonder this platform is the leader in flexible talent solution.

Peruse course offerings, prices, the time commitment to each course, and additional resources available to see which platform makes the most sense to you. For example, platforms that offer discussions with industry professionals, webinars on business trends, data-driven statistics, or real-life learning opportunities will provide you with more knowledge and skills above and beyond your actual course.
Also, consider what you get at the end of a class that benefits you in your career. Do you get a certificate of completion that can be shared on your LinkedIn profile? Can the time you spent learning a skill convert into course credit in college? Did you gain a specialization or master skill? Have you increased your network and resources?
With a renewed energy behind remote work and education, there are countless options awaiting you.

Best iPad Games: 8 Games that excel on iOS (or Android) tablets
So you’ve bought yourself a tablet. Maybe it’s an iPad, maybe it’s a Galaxy or ZenPad. Maybe you’re a longtime mobile gamer and longtime PT reader who has chafed at the restrictions of your itty bitty phone screen (Maybe you're called Richard-ED). Maybe you’ve just googled “best tablet games” and landed on our page.
Since the roll-out of 'Universal' after phones got bigger and sharper resolutions there haven’t really been as many tablet-exclusive games, but there are still quite a few amazing experiences that only unlock once you’ve upgraded to a larger screen. This article runs down a few of those games that are only for iPad or Android tablet owners, plus some that only really shine when played extra large.
What are the best iPad and Android Games?
Invisible, Inc.
Prison Architect
Darkest Dungeon
FTL
Sunless Sea
Civilization VI
Rome: Total War
The Banner Saga
Best Tablet Games | General Advice
To start with, board games are always better on a screen that’s closer in size to a tabletop. Tablets are great ways to play solo versions of your favorite table games against AI or play online when you can’t find any like-minded friends. You can even pass the tablet around in some titles, which can be a lot easier than setting up all those pieces yourself. App versions are also a great way to preview a game you may be interested in, since they typically cost about a tenth of what you’d pay for the whole box of cardboard.
Best Tablet Games
Invisible, Inc.
Indie masters Klei found a perfect fit when they brought the incredibly unique stealth tactics of Invisible, Inc to tablets. You’ve never played a tactics game quite like this before: a turn-based high-stakes Metal Gear Solid. Invisible, Inc. isn’t a game that you can half-ass, as each turn has the potential to devastate your team.
Careful choices regarding which guards and security systems to incapacitate are a must, and your team’s quickly dwindling resources will keep you on edge the whole mission. Those missions are procedurally-generated, by the way, to always be surprising.
youtube
Prison Architect
You couldn’t fit a sim as detailed as Prison Architect into a tiny phone. This game goes beyond mere cells and exercise yards to require the player to handle utilities, staffing, and more. Putting the screws on the player are disasters like riots and floods, and of course the ever-present budget difficulties. Who can serve justice when there’s the almighty dollar? The game is free-to-try in demo mode, to boot, so there’s really no excuse for missing this excellent sim. Available on iOS and Android.
youtube
Darkest Dungeon
The gorgeous woodcut artwork of Darkest Dungeon would look like chickenscratch on a tiny phone, which is why this game is exclusive to tablets. In this game, you lead parties of graverobbers, plague doctors, highwaymen and others into challenging dungeons full of weird and deadly monsters. This detailed dungeon-crawler needs the extra screen real estate to present its complex systems.
While it can be frustrating that a lot of the information you need is hidden under tooltips that only pop up when long pressing interface elements (which can also lead to misclicks), overall, the exceptional tactical combat and unique party management of Darkest Dungeon, plus its unrelenting pitch-black humor make it a must have for RPG fans that own a tablet.
youtube
FTL
FTL: Faster Than Light underwent some pretty clever revisions to make its intense gameplay work on a touchscreen. It’s still one of the best games to have integrated roguish elements into other styles of gameplay. It’s only on tablets because its detailed strategies need room to breathe. Fire in the engine room? Open some doors to vent it to space! Pirate’s shields are too strong for your lasers? Take it out with a boarding party of rock people! Still one of the most challenging and most compelling experiences on any platform, if you’ve got a tablet FTL is one you can’t miss.
youtube
Sunless Sea
For gamers looking for a little story, look no further than Sunless Sea. You may have enjoyed gamebooks like Sorcery and 80 Days on your phone, but Sunless Sea is so much more. It’s based on the weird fantasy of the browser game Fallen London, where horror and gothic whimsy go hand-in-hand. In addition to its exceptional writing and eerily well-developed setting you get a tricky roguish survival adventure where you have to balance your need for fuel, food and crew with an aching desire to discover what lies just beyond the horizon.
youtube
Civilization VI
Now, Civilization VI isn’t exclusive to tablets, but would you really want to try to fit all of human history into a palm-sized screen? I thought not. Where other games get stripped-down mobile versions, Civ VI is the full-fat PC original minus only cosmetic flourishes. It is, of course, an amazing strategy game worthy of the storied lineage of Sid Meier’s Civilization and it plays great on your tablet. The base game is a bargain since the expansion packs have been released.
youtube
Rome: Total War
Another surprising PC port was the first Rome edition of Total War. Although an older entry in the series (released in 2004 on PC), Rome: Total War is considered by many to be the series’ high point. The tablet version not only adapted the game to touch controls, but updated the graphics. Want to see hundreds of tiny hoplites clash in epic real-time tactical battles? Rome has got that. Want to command a campaign that spans the Mediterranean? Hop in. Two expansions have only made this colossal game more titanic. Available on iOS and Android.
youtube
The Banner Saga
For a more epic tale there’s the Banner Saga, a PC trilogy whose third act has yet to hit mobile, but whose first two installments pack enough tragedy and hard-won triumph to fill dozens of hours. In between tight turn-based tactical rounds, you’ll make hard choices to guide the survivors of a broken world. What’s more, the games’ astonishingly beautiful animation will make you nostalgic for the fantasies of the 50s -- and just like a film, these games are best enjoyed on a big screen. Available on iOS and Android.

Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL preview: Everything we know so far about Google’s next flagship phones
The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will be unveiled at the company’s ‘Made by Google’ event in New York on October 15. (Image credit: Evan Blass)
Google typically releases new Pixel-branded smartphones each October, and 2019 is shaping to be no different. This year, Google is expected to launch two smartphones – the Pixel 4 and the Pixel 4 XL. And once again the biggest change will come in the phone’s camera, which is expected to get a dual-camera setup. Other than packing improved cameras, the Pixel 4 series will be getting FaceID-like TrueDepth cameras and the Soli chip that uses radars to detect hand movements.
Google’s Pixel smartphones aren’t about the specifications, design or features. They showcase Google’s strength in the software department and computational photography that involves artificial intelligence (AI). With Apple and Samsung already generated excited around their flagship smartphones, all eyes are on Google’s new Pixel lineup which it plans to launch in New York on October 15.
youtube
Here’s everything we know about the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL.
Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL: Leaked Canadian pricing
With the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL about to be released on October 15, possible Canadian prices for the flagship series have been leaked. Courtesy of Evan Blass, base variants of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will end up costing CAD$1049.95 (Rs 55,951) and CAD$1199.95 (Rs 63,944). Meanwhile, top-end variants of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are priced as follows: CAD$1199.95 (Rs 63,944) and CAD$1359.95 (Rs 72,471). The flagship phones will be made available in two storage capacities: 64GB and 128GB. Of course, both phones are priced on the higher side. However, every flagship smartphones these days cost in the same price bracket.
The Pixel 4 will have a massive, square-shaped camera bump that houses two cameras.
Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL: ‘Raise to talk’ for Google Assistant
The Pixel 4 lineup may include a new “raise to talk” feature that will be part of the all-new Google Assistant, reports 9to5Google. So essentially, users could ask the question and immediately ask the question or issue a command. As long as it comes directly after raising the voice, Google Assistant will listen. Otherwise, it will ignore it. The thing to keep in mind that the Google Assistant will handle speech recognition on-device. However, it’s not clear if the feature will be available immediately at launch.
Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL: Full official specifications
9to5Google has got access to the full spec sheet for the Pixel 4 lineup. And it appears that everything we’ve heard so far about the new phones is pretty much true. Both phones will have 90Hz smooth displays, with the Pixel 4 sporting a 5.7-inch screen and the Pixel 4 XL being 6.3-inches. Not just the size is different, the phones offer different screen resolutions as well.
Both Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL come with a Snapdragon 855 processor coupled with 6GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB internal storage. The phones also come with something called the “Pixel Neural Engine” , which appears to be a revamped version of the Pixel Visual Core that featured in the Pixel 3 lineup.
As you might expect, there will be two cameras on the back of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. The setup consists of a 12MP Dual-Pixel sensor and a 16MP telephoto sensor. It is being said that the Pixel 4’s camera will support 8x zoom, an improved Night Sight feature, and the all-new Motion mode for shooting action shots.
And on the battery front, the Pixel 4 will reportedly feature a 2800mAh battery and the Pixel 4 XL will have a 3700mAh battery.
The Pixel 4 will be getting FaceID-like TrueDepth cameras and the Soli chip that uses radars to detect hand movements.
Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL: Other confirmed features
Google has already confirmed the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will feature Motion Sense. The phone will include a soli chip that uses radars to recognise hand movements without any physical contact with the device. The new feature will allow users to skip songs, snooze alarms and silent phone calls just by waving your hands. According to Google, the Pixel 4 with the “Soli” chip will be made available in select markets.
In addition to Motion Sense, Google also confirmed that the Pixel 4 lineup will feature an advanced face unlock feature using a dot projector and infrared sensors just like Apple’s FaceID.
The tech giant itself has revealed that the Pixel 4 will have a massive, square-shaped camera bump that houses two cameras. Both phones will run Android 10, the latest version of the mobile operating system, out of the box.

At the moment we have the latest public and stable version of Android at 8.1 commonly known as Oreo but in a few months time, Google will roll out the next version of Android and it’s the most ambitious one in its entire 10 years of existence. That’s right, besides a major OS upgrade, the next iteration of Android is also celebrating the Operating System’s 10th birthday.
But what really makes the next version of Android so important to users and how does it affect the way we use our phones in the future? For one, Android P is built-in the foundation of open standard which makes the operating system more flexible and easy to deploy. Then we have the surge of AI all over the place and of course Google is one of the first few companies to incorporate such technology into its system, long before AI the masses fully understood what AI really does in modern smartphones.
So the focus on Android P is all about usability, features and gestures. One could reference iPhone X UI in a sense, though Android users would easily disregard such notion but as what we can see from the preview build, the upcoming OS is almost half the same as the Cupertino counterpart from features to gestures which one would easily notice their resemblance.
So, with Android P, Google is introducing a new system navigation complete with new gesture controls. The three button navigation keys has been replaced with a two buttons with the new Android pill home button and the back key. The new home button in Android P now is a multi-function key with swipe gestures for different commands.
Android P continues the same material design language from its predecessors with refined interface and has been made more simplified, a redefined Quick Settings which allows users to easily take screenshots, a new volume control and minute aesthetic changes that makes Android a lot easier than ever.
With the increasing popularity of AI technologies, Android P is using the tech to make our Android devices even more smarter and learns on how we use them. Google partnered with DeepMind to build its native Adaptive Battery feature which manages and battery and maximizes them in every way possible. Likewise, Adaptive Brightness which currently is available with Android devices could finally learn from user’s screen brightness preference on a given surrounding.
App Action is also a new intuitive way how the system predicts your next action with how you use and launch your apps. With this feature, Android P can predict your next possible action, let’s say you’ve plug-in your headphone, Android will then show possible apps that users would want to run after that. And then there’s Slices another core feature powered by AI that helps you get into apps. Try searching “Lyft” in Google Search and the system will show an interactive Slice with prices and time of the trip and even book a ride.
Now that AI is pretty much a mainstay in our digital life whether we like it or not, the technology isn’t just about the technology itself and the devices that it runs into but also are one of the key players for our well-being and Google made sure that our next devices will be self-aware of our actions and time spent on our device.
With Android P, Google develop a new feature that just take care of us as users of smartphones. There’s a new Dashboard that shows home many times we’ve unlock our device, time spent on the device and the time spent on apps. App Timer sets a time limit on apps, let’s users know when they’re nearly to consume their limit and gray out apps letting users know that they’ve achieve their goal.
The Do Not Disturb feature in Android gets an overhaul and it has not just limit itself with sound notifications anymore but also visually by silencing any visual notification on the screen. Turning the phone over will also automatically turn on Do Not Disturb mode. And then we have Wind Down, this new little feature will automatically turn on Night light when it gets dark and altogether turns on Do Not Disturb and fade the screen into grayscale to let users know that it’s bedtime.
Besides these noticeable features, Android P also comes with new features underneath especially with security and privacy which become more and more of a concern nowadays.
Google released the first Android P Developer Preview to the public and they are now available to Google Pixel devices and specific devices from Google partners including: Sony Xperia XZ2, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Nokia 7 Plus, Oppo R15 Pro, Vivo X21, OnePlus 6, and the Essential PH‑1.

What to Expect at Apples Biggest Event in Years
On Tuesday, Apple Inc. Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook will take the stage for the first time in the Steve Jobs Theater at its new campus. Apple plans to unveil three phones—another first—including a premium model that could cast a halo over the rest of the line, and perhaps even the rest of the smartphone industry.
The hoopla Apple has generated around the iPhone’s 10th anniversary is a reminder of how much the company relies on its iconic gadget, which still represents about two-thirds of sales despite Cook’s concerted push into services. In fact, Apple’s entire business is built on the back of the iPhone: It’s a remote control for the Apple TV and upcoming HomePod speaker; it’s currently tied to the Apple Watch, syncs with the iPad and Mac, and is home to services like Siri, Maps, and Apple Music.
In recent years, Apple has experimented with cheaper models in a bid to sell more phones in emerging markets where it’s often an also-ran. The gambit has had mixed results, and Apple now mostly positions its smartphone as a near-luxury product. That strategy is being tested as never before because the premium iPhone X will for the first time break the $1,000 price barrier, which could be too rich for many consumers.
There’s little question the new trio of phones will sell briskly, but competition is increasing at home and abroad. According to Counterpoint Research, Chinese phone maker Huawei has surpassed Apple as the second largest smartphone brand after Samsung. For its part, the South Korean company has launched its own trio of well-received phones this year, the Note 8, Galaxy S8, and Galaxy S8+. Google is expected to announce new versions of its Pixel phones in October, while Chinese phone maker Xiaomi announced its Mix Mi 2 smartphone this week with an all-screen design that shares some characteristics with the iPhone X.
Below, we break down what to expect at Apple’s most important event in years, including a new version of the Apple Watch that connects to wireless networks and an upgraded Apple TV. The company is also preparing important software updates for all of its platforms—iOS, watchOS, macOS, and tvOS – and is likely to showcase some features from those on Tuesday.
iPhone:
Apple is planning to unveil three iPhones, including two that are upgrades to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus called the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus and a premium model called the iPhone X. Here’s what we know about the high-end device:
New Design: This is the most obvious change – so your friends know you have the latest gadget. It’s an all-new look that drops the bezels around the display. Almost the entire front of the phone will be screen save for a cutout at the top for the earpiece, selfie camera, and sensors. The sides will be a continuous stainless steel band and the back will be made of glass –like the iPhone 4 from 2010. Look for the rear cameras to be vertically, not horizontally aligned, for better augmented reality apps.
Edge-to-Edge Screen: With no bezels and no borders on the top and bottom, the focus will be on the new screen: an OLED display that more accurately reproduces colors and makes content much crisper. You’ll be able to see more texts, videos and website information without scrolling down because the screen will be taller than the one on the iPhone 7 Plus. Expect the whole screen to be slightly larger than the one on the iPhone 7 Plus (5.5 inches), but because of the lack of bezels, the phone’s overall size will be closer to the smaller iPhone 7. The screen will also feature “True Tone” technology, a sensor that allows the screen to change temperature based on the environment, according to leaked software code.
No Home Button: Just as significant as additions to the iPhone are the pieces that are missing. A decade after debuting the home button as the main physical control on the device, Apple is removing it for the premium model. In its place: A thin virtual bar that can be dragged up to launch features like multitasking and close apps. See our in-depth story on the change from last month.
No Touch ID: Also gone is the fingerprint scanner. Introduced with the iPhone 5s in 2013, the Touch ID feature in the home button let iPhone users unlock their devices in a split second. It also authenticated Apple Pay transactions and approved downloads from the App Store. For this next phone, the company tried to embed it into the screen itself, but faced manufacturing problems, Bloomberg reported earlier this year.
3-D Face Unlock: In place of Touch ID there’ll be a 3-D facial recognition scanner for unlocking the phone. It’ll aptly be called Face ID, according to the leaked code. It’s designed to scan your features within a few hundred milliseconds and can work even if the device is laying flat on a table. The sensor would also be used to authenticate payments and launch secure apps, Bloomberg reported. It will work in the dark, too.
Inductive Charging: This is a new feature to the iPhone, but one that’s been on competing smartphones for a number of years. You’ll be able to lay the iPhone on a charging pad instead of plugging it into a charging cable.
Faster Processor: Apple will flex its semiconductor-design muscles yet again with a new chip for the iPhone likely to be dubbed the A11. The component is said to be based on a 10 nanometer manufacturing process, which means it will be more efficient so your iPhone battery will last longer. The company has also been working on a dedicated AI chip.
New Software: As usual, the iPhone will ship with new software. This time around it’s called iOS 11. Key additions include a redesigned Control Center, support for augmented reality apps, Apple Pay support in iMessage, maps for inside airports and malls, and a dedicated app for managing files. The 3-D sensor will also scan your face and apply your facial expressions to new animated emoji in iMessage.
Other Models: The other two models are expected to look similar to the current iPhones, but will have a faster processor and potentially glass backs to also support inductive charging.
Apple Watch:
The Apple Watch is set to see a much needed upgrade that partly frees the device from the iPhone.
Cellular Data: The most significant new hardware feature will be a wireless option that handles fast LTE data. You’ll be able to leave your new iPhone behind because this version of the Apple Watch can connect to cellular data networks, including those from Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T in the U.S. and some carriers internationally. Imagine loading directions in maps on your wrist and streaming music while on a walk through those wireless AirPods earphones. You’ll also be able to make phone calls with your iPhone’s number.
New Colors: The Apple Watch will look physically similar to prior models, but will be offered in at least two new colors: a grey ceramic and a coat of gold called “blush gold,” according to leaked software code. The LTE models will also show a cellular connectivity meter in the middle of the watch face and include a red dot on the digital crown.
New Bands: Since the first Watch launched in 2015, Apple has refreshed its selection of straps every six months or so. The last update happened this past March, so a new collection makes sense at this event.
New Software: Apple is continuing to make significant changes to the Apple Watch’s software on an annual basis. This year, as previewed at the June developers conference, the company is rolling out a new Siri-powered watch face that can preview your day, improvements to the Workout and Apple Music apps, and support for connecting to gym equipment. Apple is also adding its News app to the device along with the ability to send and receive money from contacts via Apple Pay.
Apple TV:
Set to debut is the first update to the set-top box since its overhaul in 2015.
4K Video Streaming: The main upgrade will be support for 4K video, a standard with much higher resolution. Of course, this will require a new 4K TV. Apple has been in talks with popular video streaming apps, TV studios, and movie studios about supplying 4K content for the box.
HDR Video Streaming: To go along with 4K, Apple is planning to support HDR video playback as well. This standard shows video with much more vivid colors.
Faster Processor: The updated box will feature a faster processor to handle the higher-resolution video. The current Apple TV box, introduced in 2015, features the A8 processor from the iPhone 6, which launched in 2014. For comparison, the iPhone 7 includes the A10 chip.
Improved Live TV Integration: Right now, users can access live TV streams from a number of Apple TV applications by asking Siri or launching those respective apps. Apple is testing expanding that access to its own TV app launched last December. That means no more clicking on different app icons, although you’ll still have to enter any required login details.
Coming Later:
Sept. 12 won’t be it for new Apple products in 2017. The company promised two major launches in the fall, a product category and a souped up Mac to appeal to the company’s small, but important, professional user base of video editors, photographers, and software programmers.
HomePod: The Siri-powered smart speaker, introduced in June, ships to customers in December. The speaker will be a gateway to Apple Music in the home by way of speakers that can adjust to conditions in different rooms. Apple could provide more details on the speaker’s functionality at the iPhone event.
iMac Pro: Also shipping in December is a high-end version of the iMac. Like the current iMac, this one will have a high-resolution 5K display, but the internals are all new. The machine packs in some of the fastest processors and graphics chips on the market and starts at $4,999. Apple has also said that it’s working on a new Mac Pro (the company’s high end desktop without a built-in screen) and a new external monitor for professionals.

5 Platforms That Will Help You Upskill Your Career Expertise
Whether you have found yourself home with extra time on your hands during the COVID-19 pandemic, or you’ve realized that in this remote working world, it would benefit you to level-up your skills, there are plenty of options to help you meet your goals. From short, self-paced classes that teach a specific skill to expert-taught certifications and degrees, several platforms offer a wide variety of free and paid online courses.
The options are endless. Tap into classes on design, tech, business analytics, AI, and more. Or, if you have your own expertise to share, design a class that showcases your skills and earns some money on the side. Several platforms make it easy to set up your own beautifully designed online course or website.
Special business packages often are included on these platforms that unlock hundreds of courses for an organization’s employees, providing professional development opportunities that will benefit your business.
We’ve broken down these 5 popular platforms and their best features to help you upskill your career expertise.
1. Coursera
For learners
With access to hundreds of free classes, paid courses, specializations, certificates, and online degrees, Coursera challenges you to “learn something new.”
This entirely online global learning platform launched in 2012 with the collaboration of Stanford University professors. Courses are offered at a variety of different levels, from self-paced massive open online courses (MOOCs) to specializations to degrees. Topics—led by expert university faculty and industry leaders—include engineering, business, computer science, humanities, social sciences, digital marketing, and more.
Coursera partners with more than 200 top universities and businesses to deliver a variety of quality courses. Collaborations include universities such as Stanford, Penn, and Duke and leading companies like Google and IBM
These online courses open up access to on-demand video lectures, real-world exercises, and discussion forums. Paid courses include features like assessment quizzes, exercises, and course certifications. A typical course lasts between four to 10 weeks. Offshoots like Coursera for Business and Coursera for Government focus specifically on transforming talent and providing in-demand, industry-specific skills.
Coursera classes don’t require prerequisites. Many classes are self-paced, while paid courses are timed.
Quick glance:
42,000 diverse courses.
58 million users worldwide.
430+ specializations.
20 online degrees.
15 professional certificates.
15 MasterTrak Certifications.
13 languages.
Free audits of any class.
2. Teachable
For instructors
Coming from the angle of the instructor, Teachable is an online learning management platform that provides an easy and affordable way to create and sell online courses. The site states they “do the heavy lifting so you can focus on what matters—creating courses with our user-friendly interface.”
More than 124,000 instructors rely on Teachable to develop beautifully packaged online classes. This platform makes it easy to develop an attractive online course with a top-notch virtual classroom experience. It also promises ease of use to attract students who can preview your curriculum and purchase the course.
If you have a specialty or expertise that you can showcase and share in a course with others, Teachable is a great way to move forward. You can develop your course for free and access anything needed to deliver interactive lectures.
Teachable makes it simple to add multimedia features like videos, images, texts, and PDF files. To enhance the course, instructors can include quizzes, course completion certificates, student feedback, app integration, and course compliance tools.
Instructors can use existing content and webpages, or use Teachable’s drag and drop feature to make new pages. The website is highly customizable and responsive, so students are able to view courses on whatever device is most convenient for them. For those who want to reach an international audience, Teachable offers tools to translate parts of the course into different languages.
Plenty of available marketing tools make it easy to promote courses. Users can access and incorporate coupons, advanced pricing, customizable sales pages, and more.
Teachable markets its platform as “sharing your knowledge in five easy steps”:
Create a free course.
Access endless tools to develop interactive lectures.
Customize a well-branded course website.
Build your community.
Engage with students to sell your course.
Quick glance:
124,000+ instructors.
310,000 active courses.
28 million students learning.
$300 million generated in sales.
Quick glance:
14 million users.
180 countries.
$1 billion in freelancer billings annually.
3 million jobs posted annually.
4. Udemy
For industry
For the past 10 years, Udemy has been a leading global marketplace for online instruction that allows users to learn on their own time.
Udemy offers thousands of courses—many of which are free—in areas like business, design, photography, marketing, IT and software, and personal development. Udemy focuses its efforts on professional development, attracting corporations that want to provide courses based on job-related skills for its employees.
Users can filter through classes by topic, language, price, instruction level, and features. Most classes are industry-focused. Courses are taught by expert university faculty and professionals from top companies worldwide.
Udemy lets users access the platform as a learner or instructor. Learners can improve skills with classes on writing, personal finance, graphic design, entrepreneurship, cyber security, leadership, and thousands more. Many classes offer a certificate of completion at the end.
Through Udemy for Business, companies can unlock top-rated business and technical courses to offer employees as professional development. More than 4,000 courses focus on skills like productivity, design, management, and programming.
Instructors have the opportunity to offer their expertise by developing classes through Udemy. Instruction is primarily video-based and shared through the Udemy platform. Instructors also can interact with students through online discussion boards. When a student buys a course, the instructor gets paid.
In addition, Udemy supports users with the latest news, ideas, and opinions on its company blog.
Quick glance:
150,000 online courses.
57,000 instructors.
50 million students.
190+ countries.

5. Udacity
For tech
Udacity offers a fast and efficient way to master in-demand skills for the workforce. It promotes job-focused content and real-life projects that prepare learners to upskill in their industry.
Similar to Coursera, Udacity grew from the popularity of massive open online courses (MOOCs) about 10 years ago. It launched from free computer science classes offered at Stanford University. Udacity states it offers job-ready skills that prepare users with job-focused content, practical application, live help, real-life projects, practitioner-level skills, and personalized code reviews.
This online learning platform hosts professional and vocational classes that are heavily focused on programming and computer science. Classes can be taken at the user’s convenience, although some are timed. Course areas include AI, programming, autonomous systems, cloud computing, and business.
Udacity schools include:
Self-driving Car Engineer.
School of Artificial Intelligence.
School of Autonomous Systems.
School of Business.
School of Data Science.
School of Programming.
School of Cloud Computing.
Users can search for courses based on skill level. Many courses require moderate expertise, but Udacity also offers classes for users who are new to tech, beginners, or advanced. These self-paced courses help users who are learning part-time graduate while dedicated about 10 hours a week to classes.
Udacity has many resources available outside of its class offerings to help users succeed. Mentors are available to users around the clock. Career services and hiring talent help users take the skills they learn from Udacity right into the workforce. Career resources include career coaching, resume review, LinkedIn review, and more to help users build a professional network and gain the attention of recruiters.
Another unique feature of this platform is Udacity Talks. Users can gain insight with professionals through live chats. These discussions give users access to some of the biggest names in the tech world.
Past Udacity Talks speakers include:
Leah Busque, founder and executive chairwoman of TaskRabbit.
Scott Cook, co-founder of Intuit.

Conclusion
Now, more than ever is an opportune time to upskill your career expertise. Countless courses and resources are available through these online platforms that allow you to easily grow and share your skills.
Whether you want to improve in one area or learn something new, there are a variety of options offered through long-standing, reputable companies. Countless free courses can easily introduce you to a new topic or skill or help you to improve a job-specific function.
Paid courses can open your professional world through new certifications or online degrees. Instructors typically come from top-rated universities or top businesses, allowing you to interact with and gain knowledge from some of the best in their fields.
Before you get started, think about your goals and how that matches the offerings from each platform. Are you trying to get a quick refresh in one particular area? Do you want to learn something new? Are you hoping to gain skills that help you move up in your company or shift to a new career?
