Install Docker: NordVPN can be run as a Docker container on Unraid. Begin by installing the Docker plugin from the Unraid Community Applications.
Search for NordVPN Docker Image: Within the Docker tab of Unraid, search for the NordVPN Docker image. Ensure that you select the official NordVPN image to guarantee security and reliability.
Configure NordVPN Container: Once the NordVPN Docker image is installed, configure the container with your NordVPN credentials. You'll need your NordVPN username and password for authentication.
Choose Server Locations: NordVPN offers servers in numerous locations worldwide. Select the desired server locations within the NordVPN container settings to optimize speed and accessibility.
Enable Kill Switch (Optional): To enhance security, consider enabling the NordVPN kill switch feature within the container settings. This ensures that all internet traffic is blocked if the VPN connection drops unexpectedly.

Youve got yourself a fairly low power home server box right there. The most common use cases for computers like that are as a NAS box/Media streaming server, Home automation/security server, OpenWrt router box, Emulation machine for different OS'es or retro games, a remote access rendering/compute station if you stuck a dgpu in there, which also opens the door for machine learning, which you can use to run simulations, facial recognition for home security, or run local generative AI if you so wish for whatever reason.
If I were you and I wanted to upgrade this box at all hardware wise, I would do this and in this order.
1. I would buy a 15-20 dollar sata ssd and stick in in there. Teamgroup vulcan drives have yet to fail me in this department.
2. Add more ram. pretty much whatever you can find for cheap as long as its similar to whatever ram you already have in there is fine and preferable even
3. add a cheap slot powered gpu like an A310, RX560, GT 1030, RTX 3050 6GB, RX6500XT, RTX 4060, or the professional variants of those cards, and that gives you a very capable little server box.
honestly though, you dont need to upgrade it at all if your just getting into home servers and havent found a use case yet. That machine should still be perfectly capable of light server workloads just fine, though I would definitely at least get a 2.5" SSD, thats always a good Idea.
As for the Software side, I think the peak of home server software is proxmox hands down. Its also one of the most complicated OS's to learn and get right, so unless you have the time and energy to learn how a hypervisor works, you can choose any major distro and itll have a server edition. Theres also other dedicated home server/NAS OS choices as well, like Truenas, Unraid, CasaOS, Openmediavault, Rockstor, and a million others ive never used. The world is your oyster in this regard. Just dont use windows server edition. It sucks.
Anyways hope this helps 👍
hey you i have a old pc with 2tbs of storage i NEED to do something with it. i hate seeing it there doing nothing it bothers me to an unbelievable degree.
ps. this can involve basically involving software (New Os, making a server (i don’t have any use for), etc.) hardware specs are [email protected] 8 gigabytes of ram and 2 tb of storage
its a hp pavilion 570-p013wb

Chronosync move files

Chronosync move files portable#
Chronosync move files mac#
(a) Do these files already exist, or are they being created on the fly by ChronoSync? i.e.
Chronosync move files mac#
Of course, copying from an iMac attached USB2 drive to the unRAID array via the OS X Finder is sub-optimal, but since i don't have physical access to the system over the weekend, i can't plug the external drive into one of the unRAID's USB ports and try to use the Attached Devices plugin and Midnight Commander (as i am planning to) to rule out the Mac being an issue.what i probably should do, though, is try to reboot the iMac, which i am always a bit nervous to do for fear of it not "coming back" and me then losing remote access to both the iMac and the unRAID system.but since there isn't much i can do with this type of copy speed right now anyway, i might as well take the risk.here's to hoping.Ī couple questions r.e. To rule out the possibility that ChronoSync might have anything to do with it, i did a direct copy in Finder, from the folder on the attached USB2 drive to one of the disk shares (also trying to rule out that it's a user share issue), and it took about 30 seconds until the copy progress window showed 8MB being copied, and it said "13 days" as an estimate for the same 306GB sparse bundle file.i waited another 10 minutes, and it now copied 192MB, dropping the estimate to 11 days.not good at all.Īs per your request, Squid, attached please find the diagnostics. Where do i start with figuring out why i am now copying at under 4MB/s.it's really maddening to keep banging my head against the wall with this.help!!
Chronosync move files portable#
I ordered an external OWC Thunderbolt 2 RAID encore with Softraid software to begin migrating some of my more important production data to a faster array that i can more easily take with me than this 15-Bay behemoth that my unRAID server has become, but even with a fast external and portable RAID5 array, i still need and want unRAID to be my safe for all i have done and will do. I am so frustrated right now.unRAID has been a loyal and dependable friend these past 10+ years, and my server safely (so far) holds over 21TB of my production data from the past 20 years.but it seems that these past 6 months i've stumbled from one issue to the next, which have cost me a ridiculous amount of hours of time to trouble-shoot, test, fix and keep trying.whatever i try, i just don't seem to be able to get back to the "set it and forget it" ease that made me stick with unRAID for so long.Ĭhances are, it's user error or maybe some weird configuration or even hardware problem, but where do i even start? When i saw it copy at 27MB/s yesterday, i thought that things were going to be ok, but i am now looking at 3,82MB/s again, over 22hrs into trying to copying a 305GB sparsebundle backup.needless to say, since just for this backup i need to copy over 2TB of data, this is totally unacceptable. As i briefly chronicled in this thread ( ) i was under the impression that there was some sort of issue with how my new cache drive behaved when i saw backup speed drop from just under 30MB/s to under 4MB/s in under a day.so i ended up canceling the backup from my USB2 drive (connected to my iMac, which is connected to unRAID via 1Gb ethernet) and started the same operation directly to my array after disabling the cache drive again.

NoMachine For Mac

Nomachine For Mac

This topic has 1 reply, 2 voices, and was last updated 4 months, 1 week ago by .
Since version 10.14 (macOS Mojave) Apple introduced a new security mechanism which requires special access to be granted in order to control the Mac from remote. In particular for NoMachine, nxnode has to be granted access in the Accessibility Access panel (ref.
Nomachine Download Windows 10
I have three MacOS VMs running in an UnRaid server. They are High Sierra, Mojave and Catalina
I can connect to High Sierra with NoMachine but not the other two. I have noticed that the NoMachine monitor is not visible in the system tray for those OS that don’t work. However, the server is running. I have tried restarting it several times and also ticked and unticked the server preference to hide the icon. The message I get when trying to connect is: “No available sessions on this server”.
Can anyone help? I am pulling my hair out!
Thanks
Maybe nxnode is not added to Accessibility or Screen recording? Did you check that? Some tips are here: https://www.nomachine.com/AR11Q01061
If not, it could be this problem:

Warning novice! Transfer domain to google domains? Why?
As title states: warning! I’m a novice when it comes to domains, web hosting, anything of this realm.
CONTEXT:
I recently purchased a domain name through Namecheap. (.name TLD)
The intended purposes are as follows: 1. Email hosted via gsuite to provide me with a clean [email protected] format.
Host a few VERY basic informative webpages. (Ideally separate from eachother, not linked via one homepage like a typical website) 2a. I’d like to set up a simple site with my resume on it. resume.(lastname).name 2b. I’m an hobbyist photographer and I’d like to setup an online portfolio of my work at portfolio.(lastname).name
More advanced... I run a basic home server which is mostly a NAS but runs a Linux based operating system called unraid. I’d like to be able to access this servers GUI remotely and instead of having to type in my external IP address and the port #, I’d much rather setup something like unraid.(lastname).name. This is a project for another day but thought I’d include it in case anyone had experience with this.
QUESTION:
Currently I purchased and manage my domain through namecheap. Should I transfer it to google domains? I’m already using gsuite with this domain, so it might make sense to integrate the two. I also find googles UI very straightforward and I’m also willing to trust that they aren’t just trying to screw me the way most registrars are.
TLDR: should I transfer my already owned domain to google domains? If so, why? And what is the process of transferring said domain? Costs involved?
Searched around to see if this has already been answered and didn’t find anything. If there’s already a recent and comprehensive thread on it, feel free to just point me toward it so I don’t waste everyone’s time here.
Thank you.
