Vélemény: eszméletlen kurva sok hibája volt a pécsi EKF-nek, de így 13 év távlatából azt látom, hogy a szubjektív jólét szempontjából sokkal jobb hely lett Pécs. Az autómentes belváros a legjobb dolog, ami valaha történt. A külvárosi közterületek (Uránváros, Kertváros, Tettye stb.) sokkal alkalmasabbak lettek arra, hogy a helyiek közösségi életet éljenek. A múzeumi utca szerintem csodás, a Tudásközpont a második otthonom volt, a Kodály Központ meg tényleg csecse (bár valószínűleg tényleg túlzás egy Pécs méretű városnak). Nyilván minden még ezerszer jobb lenne, ha a politika nem taknyolta volna össze ezt az egészet, de összességében úgy látom, hogy néhány értékes dologgal gyarapodott a város. (Plusz szerintem a pécsi EKF koncepció a kultúrának egy szűkebb fogalmával operált, a projektek így időtállóbbak tudtak lenni.)

Hogy látom eddig a veszprémi EKF-t? Nyilván itt is lopnak. Nagyon erősen kommunikálják, hogy tanultak Pécs hibájából és a beruházások helyett a programokra koncentrálnak, ennek ellenére folyik el a pénz sok esetben megfoghatatlan beruházásokra. Talán ebből az ActiCity-ből lesz valami, de szerintem Veszprém ezzel csak egy felturbózott művházat és egy tágasabb belvárosi zöldövezetet nyer egy olyan területen, ami eddig is autómentes környezetben volt. Jelenleg nem látom, hogy mit nyer a Veszprém-Balaton régió hosszútávon ezzel az EKF címmel. Például a nagyobb EKF programpályázatok általában úgy néznek ki, hogy elvileg csak azokat támogatják, akik olyan programot találnak ki, ami később képes lesz az önfenntartásra. A kiírásokból számomra nem derült ki, hogy bevasalják-e bárkin is, hogy ha mondjuk 2024-ben vagy 2025-ben már nem óhajtja megszervezni.

Ráadásul engem személy szerint idegesít, hogy 2020 óta lényegében minden helyi programra, projektre rásütik az EKF brandet és úgy működik ez az egész, mint valami multi, ami próbálja tömegével eladni az újonnan felcímkézett szar kis felhígított termékeit. A nagy számok törvénye alapján néhány program-projekt egész jónak vagy ígéretesnek tűnik, bár én úgy látom, hogy ezekre éppen helyben nincs igény, viszont Budapestről és más városokból szívesen jönnek ide emiatt pl. a Holtszezon, a fenntarthatóság emiatt kérdéses szerintem.

Summa summarum, míg Pécs legalább egy új és élhetőbb városképet nyert az EKF-fel, addig szerintem Veszprém csak néhány jó emlékkel fog gazdagodni, az EKF-fel együtt elillan innen a kultúra is.

Browsing Pécs' Flea Market: A Collector's Paradise

For those who are interested in antiques, regional food and haggling over prices, the Pécs flea market is the perfect choice. The place known in Hungarian as " Vásátér" is located on Megyeri street in Pécs, close to Plaza shopping mall.  It  has a huge space of approximately 125,000 square meters. The flea market is open on Sundays, also on holidays,  from 5:00 AM until 12:00. If you want to take advantage of the best offers, we recommend arriving early as some vendors start to leave around 11:00. Every week aproximately 500 vendors display their products to customers. On average 12,000 to 15,000 people visit the market weekly. 

The market also has a parking lot for people with reduced mobility in the southern part of the fair, at the corner of Megyeri út and Móra Ferenc útca. From this parking lot the market can be easily accessed. Another nearby option is the Expo center parking lot which costs 400 forint for a single entrance. For those coming by bus from the city center, some lines such as 3 Kertváros, 1 Uránváros, 55 Klinikak,  23Y Deindol leave you close to the market. You can check on Google Maps the best options to reach Vásátér.

By the way most sellers only speak Hungarian, but as there are many international tourists who visit the market, especially Germans and Austrians, many sellers are also able to speak a basic level of German and English, which is enough to negotiate prices. Communication won’t be a big problem! It is important to know that sometimes it is necessary to negotiate prices because many products are not labeled. So be prepared for that too and bring cash because cards are usually not accepted everywhere. 

We visited the market on Sunday, August 22, 2023, and we will share a little of our experience. We arrived around 11:00 which is usually a little late because some vendors leave early but we were still able to enjoy the last hour of the market.

Entering the entrance to Mora Ferenc útca, following to the left, you will find many vendors selling things on the ground. You can find everything in this part of the market. For antique lovers and the curious, it is a perfect place. Household utensils, art pieces, books, all types of clothes and shoes for adults, children and animals, antique furniture, electronics, traditional crafts from Hungary and other countries, tools and accessories of all types. If you want to buy a cheap souvenir it is also a great option. For students who are furnishing their homes and are looking for cheap furniture, I always recommend Vásátér.

Vásátér also has a food court where you can find the best of Hungarian street cuisine. If you haven't tried the traditional Lángos and Pogácsa this is a good place to do so. The stands also serve a variety of drinks, coffee, soft drinks, beer, teas, wine etc.  For those who love American street food, you can also find hotdogs and donuts near the food court. After passing through the food court, we visited a plant stand that sells different species. Flower and plant stands are also very common here. In some stands you will also find gardening materials and tools.New clothes can also be purchased at the market which tend to be on separate stands. Winter clothes and underwear are sold at a good price. 

At the end of the market there are animals for sale and donation. Dogs, cats, fish and birds are displayed in cages, aquariums or with their owners for the public who passes by. Near this place you can also find pet shop supplies. Near the entrance to the Mora Ferenc útca, going right, you will find fresh vegetables and meats sold by local vendors. If you want to buy honey or fresh eggs there is also a great option. Prices are competitive with supermarket prices in the region, and you can find good offers in addition to supporting the  local producers of Pécs.

Igen, a fontos uránvárosi környék felújítása is egy olyan beruházás, ami elhúzódott, megdrágult, átvették, kifizették és ilyen lett. Köszönjük.

Többször írtunk már a Hajnóczy piac és környékének felújításáról. A teljes beruházás a vége felé hirtelen megdrágult 50 millió forinttal, de ennek okát azóta sem árulta el a projektgazda Pécsi Városfejlesztési Nzrt.

URÁNcity

Mennyi emlék. Innen indultam gimibe, mikor anyukámék elutaztak két hétre Franciraországba. Innen jártam vissza egyetemre, mikor lyukas órám volt. Később nemcsak akkor, amikor lyukas órám volt. Téli randik búcsújai. Később pedig egyes napokon innen vezetett az út haza, ahhoz a személyhez, akivel a téli estéken randiztam.

A második otthonom, hiszen Mamám és Papám volt a második otthonom. Óvodás koromban két évig éltem velük és a testvéreimmel, míg építkeztünk. Gimis éveim környékéig minden hétvégémet és szünetemet velük töltöttem. Egyetemi éveim alatt pedig minden héten legalább egyszer, de volt hogy ötször is meglátogattam őket. Mikor Mamám egyedül maradt, néhány évre ez lett az első otthonom.

Nagyon olcsó, de tényleg. A mai ingatlanárak mellett meg aztán pláne, szinte már hihetetlen! Talán utoljára 5-7 éve voltak ilyen árak.

Előny, ha lisztérzékeny vagy, mert ő is az ( ez nem feltétel nyilván, de az igen, hogy erre nagyon figyelj oda, mert kockáztatod az egészségét és akkor én verlek meg)
