This is one of my favorite shots of "my" mountain, Thompson Peak on the Plumas/Lassen County Line in Northern California. This image was captured from atop a small ridge known as Bass Hill, about 10 miles south of Susanville California on US395. Moody clouds were moving by in the aftermath of a November storm, just after sunrise. I loved the warm tones the early golden hour sun created in the image! I'm blessed with frequent amazing views of this wondrous mountain that juts up behind my Janesville Home.

The fall colors were boomin' just off US 395 southbound approaching Conway Summit. The brilliant blue skies and kiss of snow on the mountains lended themselves to the picutre perfect scene along the roadside.

Inbetween Tom's Place and Crowley Lake is where you can find this tiny grove of pretty trees. There no need to keep this location secret because thousands of people drive by it every day

Work begins on mobility, safety improvements to Highway 395
ADELANTO, Calif. — Construction has begun on nearly $60 million in improvements to U.S. Highway 395, part of a series of efforts between Caltrans, the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority and the California Highway Patrol to address this critical High Desert Corridor.
The current construction phase runs from State Route 18 in Victorville to Chamberlaine Way in Adelanto.
