BIRDS. love birds. unfortunately I know VERY little about birds compared to snakes :(

5: white-bellied sea eagle (haliaeetus leucogaster)

I will be honest, I know very little about it so I have no room to speak. HOWEVER. it has a very special place in my heart because it was compared to me.

4: himalayan vulture (himalayan griffon vulture/ gyps himalayensis)

BIG. huge. big wingspan. I fucking ADORE these things they look.. soft.. but also I've never seen a vulture that looks so wise. it almost seems regal.

also, THE NICKNAME?? GRIFFON VULTURE?? THATS INCREDIBLE

3: egyptian vulture (neophron percnopterus)

Just. incredible in so many ways. I worry for them (endangered? i think). but. look at them

yellow.. they remind me of seagulls for some reason. they have that same stare. but I. holding them. holding them. also their history in ancient egyptian belief is?? fascinating?? like. God. also I can't not love smth called pharoah's chicken

2: loggerhead shrike (lanius ludovicianus)

Does this count? I don't think it counts but I'm putting it because this is the most hardcore little bastard ever. I love shrikes. they impale prey on branches or barbed wire to eat them. THEY ARE CALLED THE BUTCHERBIRD. THEYRE RAPTORS AND PREDATORS AND YET? THEY LOOK LIKE THIS?

1: bearded vulture (gypaetus barbatus)

These are so important to me. you don't understand. like I've made these things a part of my identity. They're so fucking cool and so interesting and one of the most metal vultures I've ever heard of. they were the originator of my interest in vultures ans my interest in bone-collecting and taxidermy. I owe a large part of my identity to them and they're just Sick As Fuck in general. love you, lammergeier
