Unfortunately, my husband decided that since we were out of color catcher sheets (used to catch bleeding dye) and instead just used salt to set the dye and prevent future bleeding, he's going to wash it anyway. The black fabric bled everywhere, and salt set it, as well as heat from the dryer. There is nothing I can do, and I am rightfully angered by his carelessness.

We use a laundromat, which is expensive even though it's the lowest cost one he could find. It's why I don't prewash fabric. When we have our own washing machine*, this won't be an issue.

I want so so badly to find an engine-tranny combo I can stick in my precious little shitbox.

So far I'm reading that maybe a Cruze or some kinda Opel combo can fit and work in the space I have. The 1.8L Ecotec used in small Opel cars seems like it'll work and it's transverse so it's compatible with the layout of my unibody. I also want to avoid the turbo'd ecos and go with an N/A. If I was gonna swap in a turbo engine I could just as well bolt on a chinesium turbo and make power.

I'd look at other small transverse engines but I really want to stay within the GM umbrella to keep it simple.

My neighbour had had one of those roll-away dumpsters on his lawn for awhile. In case you're unfamiliar, people often have a lot of trash generated from home renovation projects.
