               head rested against the chair, his eyes once again flutter open. the effects of marcel’s venom having taken ahold of him. he knew that he deserved this. with all the blood on his hands he knew that death was long overdue. but having seen so many centuries, so many different times it was easy to forget that not even he could escape death forever. 

               now for the first time in a long time he was reminded how it felt to be mortal. the worry about his siblings, about their fate and what would happen next rattled around in his head. clammy skin and clothes soaked with sweat he looked up as he heard footsteps into the room. he had isolated himself not wanting to show his growing weakness at the time passed. he knew that hayley and freya needed to be able to accomplish what they needed to. 

               a weak smile appeared on his face at her words. all of his life he had prided himself in being able to control himself. it was times like these that had him uneasy ( not only for the fact that he and his family were faced with almost certain death ).
