[ LIZETH SELENE. NONBINARY, SHE/THEY ] ; have you seen ROSALINA GARCIA around VIRGINIA BEACH? the TWENTY THREE year old ASTROLOGER at THE BLACK CAT is known for ( planet watching, doc martins no matter the weather, going against the grain, halloween decorations year round, ancient medicine, a fresh coat of black nail polish ) … around the OCEANFRONT district they have a reputation of being CURIOUS and ENIGMATIC but also MELANCHOLY and ISOLATING. rumor has it they’re hiding SHE STILL HAS PTSD NIGHTMARES FROM HER CHILDHOOD…let’s hope the GOSSIP HOTTIE doesn’t find out ! kay, 25, est, she/her.
from a young age, anyone who knew rosalina garcia, knew she was destined to be a star. their personality shone bright from as early as five. the little tike running around in her ballet costumes, putting on concerts for her brothers and sisters and tias. her mexican roots were strong and she loved to sing her abuela’s favorite mariachi songs, putting her own twist on them and making her cry from living room performances time after time. life was good at first, her mother was young, vibrant, and beautiful. she taught rosa all she knew about being herself, about being kind, and most importantly how to love others through their ugliness. her father was good, or so she thought. sure, he worked a lot, but, she loved him, she was a daddy’s girl through and through. her father wasn’t the father of her eldest sister, and growing up, she witnessed him mistreat her a lot. this confused young rosalina. she couldn’t understand how the father she loved could be so cruel to her older sister. rosalina’s mom was often caught in the middle. she did her best to hide his abusive nature, but as rosalina got older, she witnessed more and more of who her father truly was.
it wasn’t always bad, sometimes he was normal, but most of the time, the house was chaotic, her mother was miserable and her light started to dim slowly over time. rosalina’s older sister was going through her own struggles and rosalina would often end the day in bed, crying and writing music as a way to release. she kept a journal to document her feelings, it was the only safe place she had. when rosalina was only eleven, the worst occurred. her mother had continued to decline, and soon she was so stressed that she started experiencing seizures, though the doctors could never pinpoint exactly what was causing them. rosalina quickly grew worried about her mother and sometimes her older sister would have to come and meet them in the middle of parking lots because suddenly her mother started feeling sick and couldn’t drive them home. it was all so traumatic for rosalina and on halloween night that year, her mother passed away, alone at home while her father was out having an affair with another woman he’d met through work friends. rosalina had seen her father texting this woman one time when he picked her up from dance class, she questioned him on who it was and he lied right to her face, she kept it to herself and never said anything about it again.
the night rosalina’s mother died was the night a piece of rosalina’s childhood died. she was eleven, but her life was about to get even more tragic. her older sister wasn’t allowed to stay with them anymore, her father was taking his grieving out on everyone and eventually he started to control and montor rosalina’s ever move. the freedom she once had when her mother was alive, was no longer allowed. she had to quit dance, she got her phone taken one time for two years, he moved them to the other side of the city so it would be hard for other family members of her mothers to visit and see the kind of mental abuse he was putting her through. then the verbal abuse started, the belittling, the whore comments if she wore anything that was remotely showing skin, and then the physical abuse when she he went through her phone and found out she had a girlfriend. she wasn’t allowed to date boys either. she wasn’t allowed to be a kid, she had to stay home and do chores or risk being punished for not doing them. for a while she kept it all inside, she didn’t want to get her dad in trouble but when she was sixteen, the abuse became way too much. she finally told her older sister who lived on her own now, and she immediately went through the courts and got custody of rosalina. this was a rebirth for rosa. they could finally breathe again. they could enjoy life, they could have the space to figure out who the hell they were.
rosalina’s girlfriend has stuck with her through all of this and is her rock and number one supporter. rosalina still lives with her older sister and the two have never been closer. rosa is exploring her twenties and discovering self love again. she still struggles with ptsd and sometimes has nightmares. through her trauma she discovered astrology and started studying it intensely day and night. now, she’s been studying astrology for five years and it’s taught her so much about herself and people. she’s a famous astrology tik toker and has a patreon where people can pay monthly to access her monthly collective readings. she also does personal astrology readings at paris’s shop the black cat. she makes cute little astrology videos on youtube and offers classes as well. ask her about the planets and she’ll love you forever.

[ ESSENCE AOKI, NONBINARY, SHE/THEY ] ; have you seen ESSENCE ‘ESSIE’ AOKI around VIRGINIA BEACH? the TWENTY-FOUR year old VIRTUAL DISPENSARY is known for ( SKULL FISHNETS, GETTING ARRESTED AT PROTESTS, STANDING UP FOR THE UNDERDOG, SPEAKING OUT AGAINST INJUSTICES, THE DARK FEMININE ) … around the CHIC’S BEACH district they have a reputation of being SPUNKY and BOLD but also ROWDY and MISCHEVIOUS. rumor has it they’re hiding SHE MOVED TO VIRGINIA BEACH TO TRACK DOWN HER MISSING OLDER SISTER …let’s hope the GOSSIP HOTTIE doesn’t find out ! kay,25,est,she/her
essence maoira aoiki was given a rough start to life from the get go. growing up in a busy beach town in the united states known as virginia beach, virginia, her mother was a teenage mom, struggling with drug addiction and stuck in an abusive relationship with a boyfriend, essence’s father. from the start he didn’t want her, and though it killed essence’s mom to do so, she ended up letting her sister, essence’s aunt, custody of baby essence and her older sister raina. this was the beginning of essence’s abandonment wound. essence still kept somewhat of an relationship with her mother up until she was around the age of twelve. she was mature for her age, she had to be. her circumstances in life required her to grow up fast to survive. though they didn’t live a fancy life, essence, her older sister, and her aunt were safe, and they were there for each other, so much so, essence calls her gijiroku, which is japanese for mom. essence and her older sister are extremely close, they’re more best friends than sisters, and she’s taught her everything she knows about life. she always guided her, kept her secrets, and protected her even when she thought she didn’t need it. the two were inseparable and everyone was jealous of how the two demanded attention whenever they entered a room. essence was always a wild child, she had a lot of passion and fire burning inside of her and she couldn’t help but to let it out. some were intimidated by her. she was the kind of kid on the play ground who wasn’t afraid to get rough. she stood up to bullies and always used her strength and power for good.
she was rough around the edges, blunt, and sometimes too impulsive, but she was good at heart, and truly cared about people and treating everyone kindly and with respect. she’s extremely close to her japanese roots and has a space dedicated to her culture in her apartment she shares with her aunt. the path that led her to living in a completely different country is a path she’d never imagined life would take her. a year ago, out of thin air, her sister raina disappeared. she left her job at the boardwalk one summer night and was never seen again. no evidence left behind, no suspects, nothing. it was almost as if she didn’t want to be found. this sent essence into a spiral, and she couldn’t accept the fact that her sister was gone. no one in two seemed to care anymore after six months, the police kept telling her and her aunt that there was nothing more they could do and eventually the case went cold. essence has spent every ounce of her free time since searching for clues and tracing her sisters steps. while passing out missing persons flyers she received a credible tip from a brother of her sister’s boyfriend that led her to virginia beach. essence’s aunt was on board from the beginning and the two of them moved from richmond, va and now are living in a cute town house in virginia beach while they search for raina in hopes that she’s still alive.
while living in virginia beach, essence has come up with creative ways to make a living so her and her aunt can afford to live in their townhouse. taking up a real job would leave them with less time to find raina, something they both would rather not sacrifice. essence doesn’t discuss her business with her aunt and her aunt doesn’t ask any questions. little does she know, essence is behind a huge dark web virtual dispensary that sells things like psychedelic mushrooms, weed, and lsd. no other drugs than those. she’s somewhat of a computer genius and has hidden her identity securely enough to where she’s confident she can’t be traced, though she knows this can only go on for so long before she’s caught, keeping that in mind she plans to save most of the money up and then delete the entire system from existing. the tricky part is knowing when to finally close up shop.

[ PEYTON ALEX SMITH, CISMALE, HE/HIM ] ; have you seen DAMON SCOTT around VIRGINIA BEACH? the TWENTY-FIVE year old NFL PLAYER is known for ( COLLEGE FOOTBALL HIGHLIGHTS, STANDIUMS FILLED WITH FANS, JERSEY NUMBER 22 ) … around the TOWN CENTER district they have a reputation of being CHARMING and ATHLETIC but also VAIN and IMPULSIVE. rumor has it they’re hiding IF HIS FOOTABLL INJURY DOESN’T HEAL CORRECTLY HIS PROFESSIONAL CAREER COULD BE OVER…let’s hope the GOSSIP HOTTIE doesn’t find out ! kay,25,est,she/her
everyone in damon scott’s family were relying on him. they relied on him from the time he was old enough to learn how to juggle the emotions of the adults around him. growing up without his mom, he never really asked about her, all he knew was that she gave him up and his father had been his sole caregiver from then on out. they had a great relationship, but his father had many high expectations for him, especially when it came to sports. it was no secret that damon’s father was trying to live out his unfinished football dreams through his son. his father was a good player, but never good enough to make it past his college career. he wanted nothing more than for damon to make it to the NFL and that meant rigorous and over the top training from a very young age. damon was a natural, and it was a plus that it seemed to make his dad’s eyes light up every time he took control on the field.
it would be a lie if damon said he wasn’t a little burnt out by the time he got to high school, but still, football just made sense to him. it was all he knew, besides his father, his aunts and uncles, and cousins, and every last one of them knew him mostly for his gift. FOOTBALL. there was no escaping it, he’d gone this far with it, he didn’t really see the point in stopping. it wasn’t like he didn’t enjoy it, but he did miss the normal things he didn’t always have the time for because of practices, championships, state leagues, summer programs, you name it, he was enrolled if it was a football program that would help him climb the ladder and advance his skills past his peers.
all of his hard work paid off through college and eventually he was one of the biggest names being followed in college football. he attended the local university in NORFOLK, VA known as OLD DOMINIAN UNIVERSITY. soon he was being drafted into the NFL on the WASHINGTON COMMANDERS. it was only his first year in when he got a knee injury and is still recovering. if it doesn’t heal properly, he’ll possibly have to hang up his NFL career before it’s even began. he’s sitting the rest of this year out, so he’s back home in virginia, beach. some part of him is a little relieved that he has a chance to slow down and take a break from football.

[ HARRY STYLES, CIS MALE, HE/HIM ] ; have you seen BLEU DU PONT around VIRGINIA BEACH? the TWENTY EIGHT year old HEIR TO THE DU PONT FORTUNE is known for ( shoulder length locks, icy blue eyes, old money, family galas, vacationing in prague ) … around the SANDBRIDGE district they have a reputation of being CREATIVE and PASSIONATE but also CONTROLLED and PEOPLE PLEASING. rumor has it they’re hiding HE IS STILL SEEING HIS FIANCE AFTER HIS PARENTS ARRANGED A MARRIAGE FOR HIM TO SOMEONE THEY APPROVE OF…let’s hope their family doesn’t find out ! kay,25,est,she/her.
bleu du pont was born an heir to the du pont family who originate out of wilmington, deleware. conspiracy’s whisper about how they are part of an elite 5 family’s who control most of the world through wealth. they are among one of the most powerful old money influences in the world. bleu has two younger sister’s but is the eldest son and first born. this makes bleu particularly important to his parents as he will one day be responsible for their part of the du pont fortune and is expected to remain in the family business and politics. from a very young age he’s been trained and groomed to be the next powerful du pont male heir. each branch of the family has different rankings in regards to how deeply tied they are to the family business, how much they know about the secrets kept within the family that are not allowed to spoken about to outsiders, how involved in politics they are, and how much of the du pont wealth they have inherited. some parts of the family are more important and involved than others, and others like to distance themselves from it as much as possible and enjoy a somewhat regular life, enjoying the fortune they have instead of choosing to be involved. unfortunately forbleu, his parents are high up in the rankings and are important members of the family and how the business runs.
from the moment bleu was born, he had his entire future planned out for him. he was always set up to have the very best the world could offer. he always lived in exquisite manor’s, had the best education could buy at fancy private schools that only other families of his caliber could afford, and by the age of five he could speak three languages. he now can speak over ten fluently including, french, german, spanish, portugese, chinese, russian, japanese, korean, italian, and arabic. bleu was always incredibly curious about the world around him and his parents were ecstatic when they realized he was exceptionally gifted when it came to his intelligence level. still, even at a young age, he knew he was different from his parents. they lacked emotional depth, and he never seemed to be able to connect with them on a deeper bond, they provided him with everything he could ever need or want materially, but what he truly craved was that one on one attention that they simply just didn’t know how to give and didn’t have the time for. and though he always sensed he was different than them, they didn’t understand until he started to voice his dreams about being a musician, something he didn’t have the luxury of choosing for himself. sure, they encouraged it as a hobby, but it was more than that for him, he wanted it to be his life.
piano, violin, guitar, flute, the harp. it didn’t matter what instrument it was, bleu could pick it up and seemingly play it from pure instinct. he was naturally gifted and could play things strictly from ear, though he had the best lessons money could buy. Ivory held onto this talent and any alone time he had was spent listening to classics, exploring underground music, and expanding his knowledge and love for all things music. as he grew in age, so did the number of time his parents continued to reinforce that he wasn’t allowed to be a musical celebrity, he was a rothschild, he was bound to the family name, the family business, that’s what he was allowed to be famous for, and that alone. any other unnecessary unwanted attention to the family name would be grounds to cut him off and be disowned, so he learned to conceal his dreams, he learned to conceal his true thoughts and feelings from them, he finally understood they would never understand him.
bleu fell in line, or so his parents think. all he really did was learn who he could trust and who he could be his true self with. this caused bleu to rebel in other ways, ways that wouldn’t necessarily get him in too much trouble. he started skipping school, and though his parents weren’t happy about it, it took them months to realize. they were hardly ever around unless they were forcing him to make an appearance at some high end gala or attending a highly secretive family meeting. most of bleu’s time was spent with his nannies, tutors, or music teachers. sometimes they were more real to him than his own parents. bleu was eroded from a bright vibrant creative child full of life to a sullen, private, withdrawn teenager, isolated and wanting nothing more than to be ‘normal’.
bleu’s true rebellious streak bloomed as he got into his 20′s, his parents were starting to lose their grip on him, even they noticed he wasn’t happy and therefore forced him into therapy, a private one inside the family circle of course. this only made him resent them more. there were countless fights over him not living up to the du pont name and as soon as he could he moved out on his own, still tending to his du pont responsibilities and duty, but finally he had his own sense of freedom and individuality, his own space to be who he truly was without his parents having direct access to breathe down his neck at all times. moving away actually helped his relationship with his parents and he thought things were going in a new direction. he was sadly mistaken and realized his parents were still the same old stuck up rich narcissists they’d always been when he brought his first ‘real’ girlfriend to a family christmas gala. girlfriends in the past have always been set up by his parents, he was encouraged to date girls who were in the circles of the du pont’s or at least had similar stature. none of these girls ever truly interested him, they were shallow and only cared about material things, he craved something genuine and real, something that these kinds of girls weren’t capable of giving him. his girlfriend wasn’t up to their standards, and they made it very clear when he tried to introduce them to her, this was one of the most hurtful things he’s experienced from his parents and he’s been battling his role in all of this ever since.
soon after the christmas gala girlfriend fiasco, his parents made it clear that he wasn’t allowed to see her anymore, they started to see how close she was getting, they started to fear that she wasn’t just a fling that he’d grow out of, they started to see how serious bleu took the relationship and they wanted it to end. they’d already arranged for him to start seeing their new pick for him, but that wasn’t the extent of it, they’d actually arranged for them to be engaged, it was a slow process, but the entire time, he’s been seeing his girlfriend still in secret. he’s completely against the arranged marriage and the two only get along when others are in front of them. other than that, he’s with his actual girlfriend. bleu is slowly starting to get tired of the ties to his family and is getting to the point where he’s contemplating breaking off of them completely. he’s saved up all of his trust fund money without his parents knowing, and knows he could be well off without them. it might not be as extravagant and privileged of a life, but still far more than other people could ever imagine. so what’s holding him back?

[ LAKEITH STANFIELD, CISMALE, HE/HIM ] ; have you seen MARSHALL ‘MARS’ LEONE around VIRGINIA BEACH? the TWENTY-NINE year old MUSIC PRODUCER is known for ( FLIGHTS TO CALI, PRODUCING RADIO HITS, AFTER PARTIES, HOSTING PRIVATE EVENTS ) … around the TOWN CENTER district they have a reputation of being DETAIL ORIENTED and FIXATED but also STRONG WILLED and RESERVED. rumor has it they’re hiding HE WAS INVOLVED IN A ROBBERY WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER WHERE HIS BEST FRIEND ENDED UP LOSING HIS LIFE…let’s hope the GOSSIP HOTTIE doesn’t find out ! kay,25,est,she/her @vabeachintros
trigger warning: drugs, guns, violence, robbery, death, home invasion
☆ &*— bio.
mars leone grew up in the bronx, new york city, new york. his grandmother raised him and his brothers and his younger sister. their mom was addicted to drugs and had abandoned them when they were all under the age of ten. sometimes she’d come around and sometimes she’d be gone for years. as for their father, no one even knew what his name was, and one times mars was slapped across the face by his mother for even asking about him. mars learned at an early age not rely on a soul. that he could only trust himself. the four of them shared a tiny apartment in one of the most unsafe neighborhoods on the block. with nothing but time on his hands, mars found his way into trouble. he would go outside to play with the neighborhood kids but the violence, gangs, and drugs around them in the neighborhood could only be shielded from them for so long.
mars spent his whole upbringing feeling like an outcast, and wanted nothing more than to belong to something bigger than him. his grandmother was always working overnight, so by the time he’d get off the bus from school, she was already gone for the night. him and his siblings barely had any supervision at all. they were left to their own devices, it wasn’t by choice, their grandmother would have stayed home to give them the love and attention they so desperately needed but then they would have no money to eat or have new school clothes. it was real state of survival and lack that he lived through and was constantly afraid of never having enough. he didn’t realize it, but this environment gave him bad anxiety. with no supervision and no guidance whatsoever, mars started running the streets with older boys in the neighborhood who had no business putting him into the situations they did.
at first it started off with small things, stealing out of the bodega just so they could have something to eat for lunch, but then things started to be less about survival and more about what they could get away with. the lines got blurry and suddenly mars was lost in the wind, swept up in the adrenaline of it all. it took his best friend dying in his arms from a home invasion gone wrong to straighten him up, there wasn’t supposed to be anyone home, they were supposed to just go in, get what they could pawn, and make it back out. they weren’t supposed to come home and catch them in the act. mars’ best friend pointed a gun at the family and before they knew what was happening, the father pulled out a rifle from the coat closet and fired two rounds. mars had to leave his dying friend alone in order to escape and make it out without being identified or caught.
this was so traumatic for mars and he finally saw how dangerous and how far he’d gone down this path. he vowed by his best friend that he’d clean his act up, that he’d make legit money, go after his music dreams and never look back. mars went into isolation and stayed to himself, no one knew the secret he was carrying on his heart. people had their suspicions, but they didn’t know for sure what happened that fatal day of the robbery.
mars started to do more with producing music, he makes beats from scratch, plays the instruments himself and mixes everything with his own equipment. he’s produced songs for some of the biggest rap names in america and as soon as he had the status and money to do so, he picked the most lowkey and far away place he could think of where no one would know his past but somewhere he could continue his future, he ended up in virginia beach, virginia still producing for big music names around the world using the name he’d already created for himself in the new york music scene.

[ QUINCY FOUSE, CISMALE, HE/HIM ] ; have you seen ZURI JENKINS around VIRGINIA BEACH? the TWENTY-TWO year old ABSTRACT PAINTER is known for ( ABSTRACT ART PIECES THAT LINE GALLERY WALLS, CURLY PICKED OUT HAIR, SPOKEN WORD, JAZZ MUSIC ) … around the VIBE CREATIVE district they have a reputation of being DIPLOMATIC and IMAGINATIVE but also PRIVATE and SILENT. rumor has it they’re hiding HE CAN’T FORGIVE HIS MOM FOR WITHHOLDING MEDICAL INFORMATION ABOUT HIS FATHER …let’s hope the GOSSIP HOTTIE doesn’t find out ! kay,25,est,she/her @vabeachintros
tw: sickle cell anemia, death, loss of a parent
zuri’s father died fairly recently, only about two years ago from sickle cell anemia. growing up, zuri’s dad never let him see the true extent of his pain while dealing with this disorder. his mother shielded him from just how bad his father’s condition was and sometimes both his mom and dad would lie and make up a random business trip that his father would suddenly be called to attend. in reality, he was in and out of hospitals, getting sicker as he aged and having more than one serious scare where the doctors thought he wouldn’t make it. zuri’s mom didn’t want to hide things from her children, but his father would refuse to let them visit him in fear of causing them immense distress. The very thing the two of them did to protect travis and his siblings back fired, because the element of surprise was put into play and no one expected him to die as soon as he did, leaving the family in scattered broken pieces. travis and his siblings were stunned, shocked, and heart broken, and to make it all worse, they found out about how she’d been hiding his sickness from them for practically their entire lives. it was a betrayal travis wasn’t expecting and one he couldn’t seem to forgive.
zuri stopped speaking to his mom shortly after his dad died, his siblings are always telling him he doesn’t have to punish his mom too, but to him, the act of hiding their fathers true state of health is an act zuri can’t forgive right now, not while he’s still wrapping his mind around the fact that his father is truly gone. zuri was blind sided, and he feels like if they’d all known the truth, they would have been able to prepare for his death and maybe it wouldn’t have been so hard on him. he wrestles with all the what ifs and battles his mind daily over his fathers death. he was always a very passionate and creative boy, his pain only fueled that fire and his painting career soon took off as his pieces started going up in modern art galleries all around the virginia. finally, he had something he could call his own, finally he had something his father could be proud of on the other side.
he puts his heart and soul into painting, and does all kinds of different art styles, he likes to improv. in his art studio, he likes to put on music and paint the first thing that comes to his mind when he closes his eyes. he builds on it, taking each image he sees in his minds eye and twisting or tweaking it when putting it on the canvas, his abstract art is something out of this world. uri is sweet, quiet, and daring. he loves to go on adventures and is the friend you wanna text when you want to go on a spontaneous road trip at 2 am on a summer night. he’s always down for a good time, but eventually his escapism is going to catch up to him. how long can he truly avoid his mother before he has to forgive her and move on?
