Here are the latest police briefs for Squamish

Mountain bikes stolen. Truck stolen. Stealing from cars. Catalytic converter thefts.

Squamish RCMP are warning against theft after receiving a high number of complaints regarding missing mountain, e-bike, gravel, and beach cruiser bikes this past week.

Officers say in many cases the bikes were locked to something or were inside a building prior to being stolen.

As a result, police are encouraging cyclists to find new ways to secure their bikes.

This could include multiple locks, installing an alarm system if an option, registering bikes, and reporting any suspicious activity.

Truck stolen

A truck was stolen from the 4000-block of Skyline Drive in the early morning hours of Canada Day.

Police say thieves took a 2008 white Toyota Tundra that has a white canopy and roof racks between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m.

Stealing from cars

Police say they’ve arrested a man for multiple offences in relation to a number of recent overnight thefts from cars.

Targeted areas included Guildford Drive, Highlands Way North, Juniper Crescent, MacDonald Place, Magnolia Crescent, Pia Road, Valleycliffe, and Westway Avenue. 

The missing items include wallets and their contents, keys, a Milwaukee reciprocating saw with initials ‘AM’ etched into the handle, a Milwaukee brushless drill, a Craftsman 315 garage door opener, and gift cards.
