Today was an exciting day. I spent the morning continuing to work with Dove and the still nameless Tennessee Walker before enjoying a quick lunch break. Carl often sent me out to take a look at possible horses he considered purchasing, so I went and made my way to Dundull after lunch. Arriving at the training paddock, Luis introduced me to Cajun, a beautiful Belgian Warmblood gelding. We started out with some flatwork, just to get used to each other, before Luis and I set up some jumps and cones to try. Everything went pretty well so with Luis' permission, we went for a quick hack to Birk's Grange and back, just to see how he'd react to an environment different than the paddock. It went really well, so I talked to Luis about sorting out the paperwork together with Carl and went home afterwards to continue working with my own horses in the evening.

Horses have been bought.. welcome home to those two stunning KWPN's! The top one is Frostfeather aka Jay, a stunning young gelding, and the bottom one is Eaglefeather, nicknamed Indy, who's a half brother to Jay and comes from the same facility. He and his brother both got started in dressage originally, but Indy never liked it particularly much. He took a liking to western pleasure however, so their former owner tried to find a buyer who could meet both of their needs!

Always on the lookout for wolves with my trusty Hawkeye. Guess the name fits, because he's often the first to spot the predators in the wild. :)

Hello there! I'm Noelle. I'm Nash's half sister and currently teaming up with him. I mainly focus on dressage and occasionally also showjumping, but I'm, like my brother, rather versatile. Pictured above are me and my only own horse, Nero, during a recent dressage competition. For the next while, I will take over the social media duties on here, showing you what we're working on and how the horses are doing! Normally I live in Jarlaheim, as I'm working at Jorvik Stables, as well as boarding my horse there. But now, for the upcoming spring and summer craze on the Ranch, I've moved to Starshine Ranch temporarily to help out.

Cajun finally moved in! I got to pick him up from Dundull and after a short ride back to the ranch, he's here now. For now he's in a stall with adjacent paddock on his own to get used to everything around here, but slowly, we'll try to introduce him to other horses as well. He was an absolute saint for the drive and seems to be settling in fine. And once he fully feels at home, we'll start with some light training. Fortunately, he knows the area around the ranch already pretty well, so hopefully it won't be too big of an adjustment for him.

Upon entering the pasture this evening, Dove eyed me expectantly. As if she knew I had some treats sealed in the little zip loc bag in my jacket. She made an absolute beautiful picture and I'm sure she'll be such a good horse for someone down the line. If I knew I had the funds to afford another horse right now, I'd probably bid for her as well when it came down to it. But even though Carl pays me adequately for the extra hours I put in, and offers me a place to stay, that's not the case in the near future. But at least I get to train her for a good while now.

...and there he is! The new rescue horse I was talking about. According to Josh, who picked him up from the Ferry in Fort Pinta today, he's half feral and a rehabilitation fail. A private stable bought him at an auction and apparently couldn't work with his temper, so after neglecting to meet his needs for over a month, they sent him to a killpen, where Carl bought several horses along with him. Fortunately, the others aren't in an equally bad shape, so my main focus will be on this guy here. We haven't settled on a name yet, but it'll probably be either Spartan or Cyclone.

Speeding around the barrels with Paint Horse gelding Woody. He still needs a bit of training around the tight corners, but he truly has a lot of potential. He's not one of my personal horses, so Carl will probably want to try and find a show home for him soon, so I'm trying to divide most of my time between him, Dove and a rescue horse that's set to arrive soon. So far I've only seen pictures, but from what Carl told me, this was going to be a lot of work, so it will be a relief to send Woody off to another pair of capable hands who are willing to bring out his potential some more.

Very exhausting day. Today, most, if not all the volunteers helped capture and vaccinate wild mustangs that roamed Dundull and Firgrove. Normally, we wouldn't interfere like that, but because this was one herd that got seperated, probably by the wolfpack that was seen around recently, we went ahead and captured them before they could endanger themselves any more. They're all in good shape because the Rangers in Dundull and ranchers in Firgrove frequently set out food and water for them in dry periods (or in the winter) so technically, the plan was to release them all safely back in Dundull after vaccinating them and checking for injuries. However, it was fortunate that we didn't, because we discovered legal documents released just a few weeks ago that would enable civilians to just capture any mustang they'd like for their own use. And considering there's still a good amount of farmers or poachers who dislike those mustangs roaming around freely, Rowan, Carl, Josh and me sat together to come up with a plan to keep those horses. Neither of us have the funds it'd take to host an event like a mustang makeover, so that was out of question. I volunteered to work with a few of the mustangs, under the condition that this time I'd get some pay out of it as well. So, I probably won't have time for trivial stuff like sleeping or eating for a long while now. I mean, it's not like I have a social life anyways so it will probably be fine. I'm really looking forward to getting to know each of the horses. And maybe I'll persuade some of my colleagues to help me out a bit as well.

So, in connection with my volunteer work for the ranch, Carl Peterson often assigns me some project horses to train that either have behavioral issues or just can't be trained by the fixed staff at the moment. Today he came up to me to tell me about Dove. Dove is a four year old Morgan mare who's just started training under saddle. Carl sadly couldn't continue her training on his own because the Western Camp he's holding at the ranch took up too much of his time, so I was brought into play. For now, I'll just familiarize myself with her and start out with some groundwork before we really get going. She's an absolute stunning horse and I can't wait to work with her. :)

Hi!
I'm Val. Over the next few days and weeks I'll try to build this account up as a HIGHLY unrealistic Starstable Roleplay Account. Unrealistic in the sense that I'll have entirely too many horses for one person because I can't decide which ones to keep. And also in the sense that Nash is somehow experienced in many many disciplines with his many many horses. He's basically going to be a chameleon. But also, he's literally just a guy. There isn't going to be any overarching dramatic storyline because this is purely for funsies for me.
This blog is currently being built up a little, so stuff, including the contents of this post, might change. As far as I know now, my username will stay the same though. :)

My SSO Accounts: -> Melanie Shadowhope - Autumn Star, DE -> Kailey Diamondchild - Cloudy Rock, DE -> Teagan Mapleflight - Pumpkin Meadow, NA

You'll find Roleplay posts under the #valsrp tag and Non Roleplay Posts and Reblogs under the #notvalsrp tag in the future :)

Here's the Roleplay Instagram for this account.
Here's an account for all the non rrp starstable posts I'll post
Here's a Playlist of songs I think he'd listen to in various situations and moods.

And lastly, I haven't made friends yet on this account so if you want to chat a little, please send me a dm here or on my other account, @puckingdisaster :) (those accounts aren't connected in any way btw. Might repost a sso post over there once in a while but besides that it's mainly a hockey blog)
