Flashbacks of only a week and a half ago occurred, partly in the form of the worst auditory hallucinations he'd ever had, or would have, in his life. There was something so unsettlingly vulgar in the way the Sound Hashira (COUGH @never-surrender) had said ❛ sigma ❜ and it was just his luck that it repeated over and over and over and over and over… and over. Zenitsu nearly burst a blood vessel. And yet, despite knowing he was being set up to be the butt of a joke, he merely sighed, and calmly as he possibly could, spoke up with the slightest tremble in his voice. ❝ What's that, Haru-san? Hm? What's ❛ hava ❜ ? ❞

Before, Zenitsu had been a complete, utter mess. When the girls had come round, he’d screamed and shouted, praising and complimenting each one in an attempt to garner pity. He had just survived not one, but two upper ranking demons, after all! He deserved pampering! Attention! Love, even! Maybe a kiss from a fair maiden! Now, he was alone, staring ahead of himself with snot stains on his pajamas and sniffling as Haru busied himself around the room instead. The only person he could be upset with for scaring the girls away was himself, but he couldn’t bring himself to admit he had a problem. No, it had to have been something else. Or someone else. That made much more sense to him after Haru opened his mouth, blabbering about rainbows. ❝ That’s absurd, ❞ he deadpanned, fixing the kakushi with a hard stare that was typically reserved for the flashy, loud-mouthed hashira who constantly grated his nerves. ❝ Give me one—ONE!—good example of that. There are none! ❞ ❝ EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE! MY FEET HURT! I HAVE A HEADACHE! ❞ It was too late. He had suddenly lost it, now bug-eyed and delirious from a combination of exhaustion and pain. It would’ve been best for Haru to run, if only Zenitsu hadn’t jumped from his bed to latch onto the poor kakushi. ❝ AND NOW YOU HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF MEEE! ❞ Was that Haru’s curse or Zenitsu’s?
