We've never had a Version X.X.4 before, but I think your core list has the right idea for sure; if not 2.3.4, then 2.4 is the end of the Yusuke re-run and first potential update for a new Confidant like Runa, 3.0 is another likely chance for them to add a new 5-star, and we miiiiight get Aran as well?

I'm personally kind of expecting Kotone's Confidant with the next update (sort of like how we got Miyu's finally with 2.1.3, the last "gameplay" update), whether that's numbered 2.4 or not. And then at least a new 5-star (possibly Runa? maybe Lume, if that's not her?) in 3.0 (or again, however they choose to number it) and the end of the third Palace finally; maybe a new teammate as well, or maybe not? I can't tell if they're gearing up to have Aran join yet, or setting her up to be really relevant in the fourth arc. I think putting her in the fourth arc might be a better way to focus on her character, at least.

Honestly, I'm kind of curious to see if it goes 2.4 -> 3.0, or maybe just 2.4 -> 2.5, since the Palace isn't done. Obviously we haven't had an X.5 either, haha, but it'd kinda make sense to bump the main version number up for each Palace? I might be overthinking this though, honestly.

It'd be nice to get Toshiya's Confidant finally in either of those updates, haha. Or at least the next part of Chizuko's side story? Did they forget about her?

Within the patch code of the latest 2.3.3 update, there is seemingly data for the next two confidants that will be added;

With the existence of a 2.3.4 update as well, it seems that may be the opportunity for the palace story to conclude. Riko Tanemura's confidant is also expected to be added once the palace has fully concluded.

Still no update on Toshiya Sumi's confidant, which has been expected to drop for a while now.

Moving from exist-db 3.0.1 to 6.0.1 6.2.0

That's an awful lot of release notes to read through but it needs to be done, even though its hard to know how the changes will affect my code.

As a first step I need to get things working without being tempted to utilise new XQuery features (I haven't used maps and arrays ) [see https://www.w3.org/TR/xquery-30/] and new modules (spatial index)

Very tempting to clear out old stuff whilst I do this but of course would be better done beforehand.

Wikibook - this a set of comparisons of XQuery solutions to problems. It uses my REST scheme so can be run locally by configuring path. tests so far indicate the general architecture is working fine (very fast on the Dell). Some individual task solutions fail (but nicely since they are execute with try {} . This means that a new script which executes all tests and logs those that fail is possible.

util:parse has gone - use util:parse-html() which tidies HTML too

after a day's work, progress seems quite good - the lack of a unit test framework for this code is a problem when migrating code but the most time-consuming stuff is editing the code to update - not sure how to take the main trees application forward - good to do this while I'm away , just little by little because the server version wont be being updated at the same time - must ensure they stay in sync.

Problem testing applications which use rest urls - consistent use of $root is the key - so it can be changed from eg "MS/" to "?_path="

This works in urls but I haven't found a way of making it work in forms

using a setting $local:rest allows the $root to be selected and conditional code to be generated where needed

also when using URL rewriting, the target directory is one above the app directory to allow the same path to be used with other scripts in the same directory. Without this , the script is running in the application directory so all the paths to resources are one level different - need to sort this out - perhaps base should just be to the app directory and the root then includes the app directory OK that works

Over 1,450 pfSense Servers Exposed: Patch Now or Risk Disaster

The Short Story: pfSense, a popular open-source firewall, has a critical vulnerability that allows attackers to remotely execute code and steal data. Over 1,450 servers are already exposed, and the risk is high. Patching is urgent.

The Long Story: A series of bugs in pfSense, specifically in the pfBlockerNG plugin, creates a dangerous situation for users. These vulnerabilities allow attackers to remotely take control of your server, potentially stealing sensitive data or even deploying ransomware.

What's at stake?

Remote code execution: Attackers can run malicious code on your server, giving them complete control.

Data theft: Hackers can access and steal sensitive information, such as customer data or financial records.

Denial-of-service attacks: Attackers can overload your server, making it unavailable to legitimate users.

Who's affected?

pfSense versions 2.1.4_26 and earlier are vulnerable.

Servers with the pfBlockerNG plugin enabled are at risk.

Over 30,000 pfSense instances are exposed on the internet, according to Shodan.

What to do?

Patch immediately: Update to the latest version of pfSense (2.5.2 or later) and pfBlockerNG (3.0.1 or later).

Disable pfBlockerNG if not needed: If you don't need this plugin, disable it to reduce your attack surface.

Restrict access to the web server: Only allow authorized users to access the web server interface.
