I voted early on Sunday! If you're still doing recs -- I'm always a sucker for good pining (like Anthony/Kate from Bridgerton and Ramses/Nefret from the Amelia Peabody series)

I am going to bring up R. Cooper's The Devotion of Delflenor again, because truly, anybody who was into E/R during the height of Les Mis fandom, this is your brand of pining, I promise.

For a new-to-today rec, though, Talia Hibbert's That Kind of Guy has some very good pining, as I recall. The Duchess Hunt by Lorraine Heath, to at least some extent, if you're more a fan of historicals.

This is a question I am also always interested in having answers to, any new amazing pining books out there, internet?

sharpies or highlighters? sharpies, i guess. although they go missing really quickly in my house, excuse my pointed look at my wife.

a song that makes you cry: nothin' by robert plant and alison krauss and beginning middle end by leah nobel (this one makes me think of my wife. god i love her.)

a song that makes you happy: beginning middle end, for the aforementioned reasons, deadly valentine by charlotte gainsborough (that song is pure serotonin for me).

i don't. i used to draw, but disabilities are a bitch. used to write, too. now i'm just glad i can enjoy all the artistry others put into the world.

Favorite color: That really deep greenish blue of ocean water at a certain time of day when it's a little overcast

Lucky number: 9 seems lucky to me.

Height: Roughly 5'3

Talents: I'm told I have a talent for writing and occasionally delivering snappy witticisms out of the blue. I can also sing, but haven't really developed the talent in any rigorous way. I used to play piano and draw, and I could probably pick them up again if I tried harder. I also have a talent for unintentionally confusing people.

Last dream you remember: The night before last, I had a dream that I ended up getting really lost on my way to the doctor's office. As in, I ended up in LA somehow.

Can you juggle: Nope.

Art/sports/both: I prefer art, but sports are great for those who are good at them.

Do you like writing: For anyone who hasn't been paying attention, hell yeah.

Do you like dancing: No, and mostly because I have all the coordination and grace of a drunk gazelle.

Do you like singing: Very much. But my voice only really has two modes: bad opera singer or choir girl.

—FANTASIES:

Dream vacation: A tour of all the cool places in the world.

Dream guy/gal: I don't want a "dream" guy. The appearance of a guy who fulfilled all of my wishes would just be kind of uncanny.

Dream wedding: I wouldn't want to elope, but I couldn't avoid inviting the extended family, so really all I want is for nothing disastrous to happen, no extended family to get too drunk, and for the cake to be delicious. The dress doesn't matter as long as it makes me feel extremely pretty.

Dream pet: Dragon. 

Dream job: Writer.

Favorite song: Currently? Can't get "Prowl Great Cain" by the Mountain Goats and "Gravity's Union" by Coheed and Cambria out of my head.

Favorite album: Nope can't do this.
