Alastor radio noise of displeasure: well, APPARENTLY they told more demons, you DO remember the large influx of demons who came to you right?

Alastor: they gave you their souls until said favor is called upon! You not using it has apparently given you the reputation of a very lenient overlord, a defensive and protective one at that! So more people cane to you, you trianed them in defense and most gave you their souls so you could call upon them for a favor at a time of your choosing!

Vaggie: going through the 5 stages of grief trying to process it all

Alastor: On top of that, the other overlords seem to be threatened by the fact you have so many souls and demons going to you WILLINGLY, you not showing up to meetings and beong little morningstars girlfriend doesnt help that either!So this will be a fun first meeting~

low key i think to deny Riko's trauma is to deny his narrative importance in the story.

like Riko's trauma related to his father parallels neil's. His concept of brotherhood adds complexity to Andrew and Aaron's relationship. He acts not just as an antagonist but as a foil to other character's relationship to trauma and violence.

to solely view riko through the lense of his actions is to miss the point. He is a character in a story, not a real breathing human being.

One of my favorite scenes from episode 8 with my personal designs!

QUICK DESIGN NOTES: My Alastor design is heavily inspired by Loves Art23. I'm a firm believer that Niffty should be taller like her old design so she looks like a young woman and not a child. I know her skin being yellow-tinted is controversial, but I'm Southeast Asian myself and I personally just prefer it over the light pink skin because it goes better with her color palette (tried to make it more orangish here anyway shrug)

I love the symmetry of the hazbin hotel residents. I like how charlie has both a guardian angel in vaggie and a guardian devil in alastor (via forced contract with lilith possibly and even if the devil is her actual dad). they basically represent the two halves of her heritage. both vaggie and lucifer are fallen angels (which ooooh is interesting thing to consider that lucifer approves of her) while both alastor and lilith are mortal sinners turned demons. Even the color palettes match, white tones (at least for her early design) for vaggie, while alastor’s design fits the traditional archetype of a devil in red. honestly, they may as well be charlie’s shoulder angel and demon. but you know, red and white make pink or in other words, charlie.

And how you get one heavenborn, hellspawn, and a mortal sinner each with the three of them (with the mortal apparently the most evil of them all, which you know tracks honestly).

I like how in the pilot you have three meet three (charlie, vaggie and angel dust meeting alastor, husk and nifty) and with the addition of sir pentious, it’s still symmetrical with charlie at the center and how they (very) loosely could align with each of the seven sins. pride for alastor definitely. greed for charlie. wrath for vaggie. envy for sir pentious (at least at first). sloth for husk. and I’d put gluttony for angel and lust for nifty.

Reasons that I, personally, just really dislike Taylor Swift:

She's carbon emission queen of the world and decided to send a cease-and-desist to and then even attempted to sue the student who revealed as such despite the fact that the information used to do so is public information. Truly, I could simply just call it there and not go further, but I will.

Her ideas of feminism are vapid and very white privilege centric-

Which ties heavily into her casual fatphobia and also her ableism/saneism (intentional or otherwise)-

And her continued cultural appropriation which even goes on into downright romanticization of white euro-centric colonization in some of her songs/music videos.

She also sells herself as an underdog despite the fact that she just never was one. Both of her parents were and still are well off - her father comes from three generations of bank presidents and her mother works in finance - and truly they put as much of that money as they could towards Taylor's dream. Her parents literally flew her near daily to expensive voice training and singing lessons, karaoke competitions, and more, from as young as age 10, and even bought her a new convertible Lexus for her 16th birthday. So her selling herself as an underdog just feels ingenuine and the fact that she doesn't acknowledge that she isn't an underdog and actually comes from a place of privilege irks me, greatly, and adds to the general feeling of her being an ingenuine person.

And she drags other artists down - even going so far as to release 34 versions of the same album with many regional variations in a bid to remain at the top of the charts when artist Charli XCX, with her album Brat, artist Jon Bovi, and artist Chappell Roan, with her album Midwest Princess, took the top spots on the charts. Taylor and Charli XCX may not have beef with each other but this move was still incredibly greedy and pathetic, in my opinion, and adds to my dislike of her as an artist and a person, personally.

Hazbin Hotel Live Q&A

Interesting notes from today's Hazbin Hotel live Q&A session with Viv, Erika (Charlie's VA), and Amir (Alastor's VA):

Alastor's fatherly tendencies towards Charlie aren't genuine; Viv said Alastor feels threatened by Lucifer's power and wants to get under his skin in any way possible, and undermining Luci and Charlie's relationship is simply the easiest way to do that

So apparently, someone on twitter asked Amir how Alastor can be aroace when he has so many cute lil gay poses, and Amir's response was "you don't have to fuck to be fab", which I guess someone made into a t-shirt? Lol

(Side note: people in the chat are paying money to ask questions about romantic Alastor ships through superchats and I'm so mad grrrrr let him be canonically aroace in peace you absolute ghouls)

They talk a bit about the fan screening - audience members were clapping along to the "My name is Charlie" drama game scene, and people were audibly grossed out at seeing Al eating a dead deer

Charlie has a really cool outfit in the finale episode!!!

Alastor and "I'm not the stepdad, I'm the dad who stepped up" jokes, apparently Amir laughs at those kinds of shitposts and he loves the jokes and the fanart and the cosplay, so much love for the fans!

Viv says that a lot of the theories floating around about Hazbin Hotel, especially stuff regarding the finale, is super accurate, and she doesn't engage with accurate theories on social media because she doesn't wanna spoil anything

Eventually, Viv will answer the question of whether or not Al has a tail. Sadly, today is not that day.

Viv and Erika imply that Charlie's perspective on redemption and her worldview will develop and grow more complex over the course of the next few episodes.

The next few episodes will offer a peek into Al's relationship with Nifty; Viv says that Alastor is very fond of Nifty and he finds her to be fun and endearing in his own way

When asked who their favorite Vee is, Erika says Vox, Amir says "no comment" lol

Amir says "Alastor enjoys Vox the way he enjoys his area rug" THE SCREAM I SCRUMPT

Viv, on the finale: "Someone dies, but I'm not saying who" ...she implies that Angel Dust won't die in the Season 1 finale, so we can sleep easy tonight
