"Im just tired of boys being.. boys. I'd like a man you know? A gentleman would be nice but maybe chivalry is dead." everything she was saying was with a flirtatious little smile, dimples that showed off on the beginnings of her cheeks, a silent challenge towards what he really wanted.

How would your main wip change if it was a short story instead of a book? (Or vice versa!)

I had such a hard time thinking of an answer to this (then I forgot I had this ask in my inbox, I'm sorry orz). Then it dawned on me that Interlude was originally 3-4 flashback chapters in Overture and essentially a short story instead.

The plot and emotional beats would be sped-run. The time it takes for Will and Galen to even trust each other would be pretty much instantaneous and in my head now that I'm turning it into at least a novella, it'd be illogical. I would also have kept them at their original ages so those decisions to move through phases of their dynamic would make more sense. Now they're a bit aged up.

There'd be far less worldbuilding and character exploration of those other than Will and Galen.

Beck, you wanted Theories? Oh I'll give you theories.

Theory Number One:

This organization wanted to create fighting machines and tried to make them invincible through different tests. So they made Evren and Vesper, experimented on them for a while before their found father (possibly another experiment, or a scientist) busted them out and escaped after destroying the place.

- the twins talk about having a dad, but never a mum. It could be that they literally don't *have* a mum

Theory number two:

The twins might have been born to a single mother with no money, so she gave up her kids to get enough money to sustain herself: or she wanted them to be stronger, so she gave them to the organization with the promise that they'll be stronger, and able to protect her.

- there's not much evidence on this one, but I still think it could be a possibility

Theory Number Three:

Same idea as before, but the mum died, leaving Ev and Vesper to walk the streets: stealing food and swiping purses to make it another day, before the organization found them and promised to take care of them.

And because they were kids, they believed them.

They were experimented on before meeting their father: their dad said "these guys are experimenting on kids? Oh hell nah" and they (plus any other experiments) took down the place and escaped.

(I also think their dad could have been their biological father, but honestly, he gives me "Found Family" types of vibes. )

Another theory / Possibility I have is that:

the dad was captured by whatever remained of this company (maybe coil? Idk) and is being held prisoner / being experimented on again.

These are just my first immediate thoughts: maybe I'll expand on them- idk ¯\_(:p)_/¯

Recently just watched Casino Royale (2006) for the first time in a long time, and I am OBSESSED with Vesper.

I’ve been toying with ideas myself, but there’s nothing tangible. For me, I’m honestly debating between the faked death or just having Vesper run away/be taken by Quantum for the angst. No idea yet how to fix it though lol. I’m just a sucker for a turmoil-filled chase.

I’ve also been scouring the Internet for Vesper/Bond fics but I’ve only found a few. Who knew this was such a rare pair?

Part of what inspired this was that I was so disappointed by the other movies, bar sad!Bond in QoS.

Having a Vesper x James ask in my inbox makes me very happy since I've been putting a lot of thought into my fic over the last couple of weeks (and even doing some actual writing! 😆).

I love, love, LOVE Casino Royale. It's legit one of my all time favourite films, but the Bond movies that came after it were not it for me. QoS has its moments, but it's lacking in the script department (in part due to the writer's strike at the time, a lot of the script was added to as they filmed), so what you ended up with was a lot of action and not much else. Skyfall is a well done film, Spectre is kind of meh, and No Time to Die is again well executed, but none of them live up the CR.

I've been trying to think of a good fic idea that hasn't already been done, infinitely better than I could write, for a long time and I think I've finally hit on something. I don't want to give too much away, but Vesper lives (ofc!) and she and James are reunited sooner than in other things I've read. I'm hopeful I'll have the first chapter up in the next week or so (maybe less 🤞).

I'm not sure there is a huge appetite for James x Vesper 19 years after the movie, but the muse strikes when the muse strikes. 🥴

There isn't nearly enough fic out there, but of what there is, there is some absolutely amazing ones. I'm sure you've already read them, but two of my favourites are caught between the devil and the deep blue sea by mine_eyes_dazzle (only recently read this one after being away from the fandom for years and it's INCREDIBLE) and A Tragedy of Error by coldgreydawn (which may be my all time fave and it still makes me said it's unfinished).

That was a very long reply, but the general gist is that James and Vesper remain one of my favourite ships.

Vesper

Most of her companions, but especially Valerie, Octavia, and Amiri. Vesper's biological older sister was horrible to her, but it left her desperate for a platonic relationship with women older than her, who she could turn to for support and advice and maybe even protection. Octavia really fills the social holes for her, whereas Valerie fills the more tangible needs (she basically appoints herself as Vesper's bodyguard.) Amiri is a bit more of a wild card, but Vesper was very moved by her enduring loyalty and can't help but care deeply for her.

Imogen

Idira! Imogen does end up developing a bit of a protective drive where she's concerned. She's also very fond of Cassia, but I need to finish the game before I decide who else, if anyone, fits into this category.

Yelena

Edér and Pallegina! She's been through so much with these two, and while her other companions are all (mostly) special to her, the two of them join Aloth on being on a rank above.

Osana

Osana ends up very close to all four of her companions, but besides Kai, Giatta is the person she ends up closest too. They're both giant nerds and Giatta really helped open Osana's eyes to a wider scholarly world.

Sometimes I look at Wu and go what the fuck because how the heck does he hold so much trauma in him. Today I just had the realization Wu probably thinks fate is unbeatable since he failed to stop Garmadon's fall into evil. He tried stopping fate once and it prove useless in the end. He probably felt so hopeless after Lloyd was just discover to be the Green Ninja.

That one line he said about Lloyd growing closer to completing the prophecy hits so different now.

CORVUS IS SO PRETTY!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOUUUUU !!! and yeah i have a lot to ramble about so allow me to drop lore and design infos about Corvus !

Starting with some infos ! Corvus used to be a design renovator specialized in daily life objects. This mean they used to renovate and customize daily life objects by demand. This result in a big interest for carving and paiting + burned hands from their time at their previous bad workplace.

Corvus is a very sweet and kind person who try daily to seems cold and disinterested because they don’t want people to use their kindness. A sort of fake it until you make it fake cold personality. They’re very humble and don’t really give much value to themselves as a person both because they’re terminally ill but also because they haven’t done anything exepetional all their life.

Now design wise ! They’re a crow, from their gloves that looks like feathers, their golden eyes and dark hair they are the embodiment of a crow both visually and kind of mentaly. They like pretty thing and wants to collect a lot of stuff ( but refrain to do that because they can’t afford it ).

They’re pretty pale so their skin mark super easily ( hence why they have such prominent eyebags and rosy cheeks ).

Many thing about their designs goes against how they want to be perceived. Their mask is betraying them, it's a smiling eye cause the eyes shapes makes it seems like they're happy in neutral stance. if they were mask off people would assume they're constantly blushing when it's actually their regular skin because of their rosy cheeks, betraying their attention once again.

Well... I adore Mothman. There so many variants of how people draw them. So interesting to look at those.

Some draw them spooky, some cute.

Wanna know fun fact? My oc Vesper partially based off Mothman and in canon his mother is Mothman. I'll drop the ref for fun.
