The Vespi TTRPG Problem
So if you know us and have had context to either bring it up or let us go off about it, a lot of our life got shaped by our experiences with tabletop roleplaying games. We know way too damn many of the things, but have played comparatively few in actuality.
This particular flavor of brainworms also has another problem, in that we're overwhelmingly prone to experiencing media and going "Ooh, I'd love to make a game that replicates the feel of this experience with company." This would be fine, if:
It wasn't constantly happening
We ever got one of them finished
We didn't keep running into conceptual/mechanical pitfalls with the damn things
We've also recently started writing again for the first time in FAR too many years. Writing has shown us pretty rapidly that it's something we find far more enjoyable, far less stressful, and ACTUALLY finishable, unlike the billion horrible hyperfixation rakes we keep stepping on in the yard of TTRPG design.
Our overall want is to start tapering off that reflex and start focusing more on writing and VN work. The pipe dream is that we taper towards writing commissions with time, if we can also figure where to host the things.
Until then, we have a reflex to purge. Maybe we'll start doing that with the tag I threw down here, to process whatever nonsense setting/gamefeel we're processing. Maybe it being public will keep us honest, maybe it will help us finish, maybe it'll help us figure out live to actually let some of these things go.
Sorry in advance for any rambling wordwalls to come there, oops
