“sydney healing era” this and “sydney deserves a happy ending” that
i need sydney clarke to go batshit crazy. i need her to rage. i need her to let herself grieve and be angry and destroy everything in her path - until she ultimately finds peace.

Enough with Enemies-to-Lovers and Lovers-to-Enemies, when Enemies-and-Lovers will always have, by far, the more interesting dynamic.
Imagine the terrible intimacy of locking eyes with the only person you ever really considered your equal, your best friend, your lover, your greatest enemy, seeing in their eyes that they’d just as soon kill you as kiss you, seeing that in their eyes and knowing it’s a reflection of what’s in your own.
Wanting every sweet word and needing every wound, because who can love what they do not hate, and who can hate what they do not love?
Opposing forces that must — that will — destroy each other, but love each other even whilst doing so.

I understand the theory that Sydney will revive Eli to track down Victor in theory but like. Idk I don't entirely buy it
It was mentioned that Sydney has an invisible string that is attached to everything she revives so if she Really wanted to track down Victor she could probably do it a lot safer that way
And also the fact that Eli is immortal. That time in Haverty's lab was their One Shot to make sure he was gone for good. Reviving him runs the risk of literally never having that opportunity again. Sydney might be desperate, but I still think she'd understand that the risks vastly outweigh the benefits in that case.
I've seen a couple different interpretations/theories on this which I'll speak on now
I saw one fic where Sydney did revive Eli, but she deliberately botched it in a way that screwed with his powers. This is an interesting idea. It would be cool to explore. I think it's the only scenario in which Sydney would agree to revive Eli.
I saw another where the serum just wore off over time and once it left his system his body slowly repaired itself and he came back to life on his own, which sounds kind of boring but I still think there are interesting things that can be done with it. It definitely seems plausible. Eli's dead, sure, but we've seen him regrow hearts and presumably brains, so being dead isn't exactly a guaranteed thing. We don't know if there's a limit to how long he can be "dead" before his regeneration stops working. We still don't even know if Victor's illness will ever permanently kill him. It's pretty likely it will, but he exceeded the amount of time needed for brain function to completely shut down and still lived, so we don't know for sure, and if brain function was a prerequisite to Eli's powers working then all they'd have to do is shoot him in the head to kill him. There's definitely problems with this theory, and I don't entirely buy it either, but it's an interesting thought.
But yeah in conclusion I don't think Sydney would run the risk of reviving Eli without at least Some kind of failsafe, if at all. If I end up being wrong you can tell me to eat my words lol

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but Victor Vale is a bad person too. And he had darkness in him long before he died on that table.
Yes, Eli is a monster. But Victor is a monster too.
(And I love them both.)
