Vintage writing pad commemorating the 50th anniversary of STANKIN (the Moscow Machine and Tool Institute).

Made in 1980. Sturdy cover, the paper inside is coated and thick, very nice quality. Some pages are missing in the beginning (about 15-20% of the pad). The rest of the pad is unused. Size 10 × 15 cm (4" × 6"). Some handling wear occurs, overall good condition.

Naranja/Uva Academy Students (birthday headcanons)

Okay, so since I have a notebook that I've been taking some notes on for Pokemon Scarlet/Violet (mostly "Violet" for me) to get ready for it (especially the Mid-Term and Finals). And I couldn't help but hypothesize about the students (including the Team Star members) about their birthdays by using the dates of their special interests. [Florian/Juliana's birthday is my birthday since the Playable Protagonist's birthday mirrors the player's birthday, so they're excluded from this hypothesis. (this also includes their special interests)] [Mela's birthday was a bit of a challenge due to not having the game yet (I planned on buying it for my birthday).]

1.) Florian/Juliana - October 12th Special Interest: Taking notes. This is non-explanatory, but it's also what I've been doing to get these pieces of information.

2.) Nemona - February 27th Special Interest: Pokemon battles. According to the real-life timeline of Pokemon, the first Pokemon game (Pokemon Red) made its first debut in Japan on February 27, 1996. In chronological order, it was the game, trading cards, manga, and anime.

3.) Arven - December 29th Special Interest: Making sandwiches. Due to the shape/size of the bread, I assumed that it would be "Subway bread", but due to the location of Paldea and its real-life equivalent of it (Spain, Portugal, and Andorra), it wouldn't make sense historically. So, I had to do some research on the Sandwich (which is based on the Bocatas or "bocadillo") and it was a little touch and go for a while, but I thankfully narrowed it down... According to legend, a general named Tomás de Zumalacárregui (12/29/1788-6/24/1835) invented the tortilla de patatas during the Carlist wars. When the bread was added, the bocadillo was born!

4.) Penny - February 14th Special Interest: Machines/computers. According to Penn Today (no pun intended), the world's first general-purpose electronic computer was introduced into the world on February 14, 1946.

5. ) Giacomo - December 15th Special Interest: Music, Rock (DJ) Albert James "Alan" Freed (12/15/1921-01/20/1965) was an American disc jockey (DJ) who helped spread the importance of rock and roll music throughout North America.

6.) Mela - September 23rd Special Interest: Flashy costumes. So, here's the reason why this was a challenge; there were no specific dates on when "flashy costumes/outfits" were a thing. So, I had to look a bit deeper at her attire for easy clues. Luckily, there's her boot! More specifically, her "over-the-knee boots". In the Autumn of 1962, Balenciaga had a collection that featured "a tall boot by Mancini that covers the knee". To get the month and day, I had to look up the Autumnal Equinox of that year.

7.) Atticus - November 16th Special Interest: Vintage. This was a little bit of a challenge like Mela's. But after digging, I came across the one article of clothing was that known as the birth of vintage... The raccoon coat. More specifically, the issue of The Saturday Evening Post featured an illustration of several college men sporting raccoon coats on 11/16/1929.

8.) Ortega - January 19th Special Interest: Engineer/Mechanic. Okay, so before I read about Ortega being a mechanic/engineer for the Ruchbah Squad, at first I thought that his thing was Fairycore. Ever since, after a little bit of research, the man named James Watt (01/19/1736-8/25/1819) was a Scottish inventor and mechanical engineer.

9.) Eri - February 12th Special Interest: Wrestling. Okay, so this may contain a pun, but it's a part of Japanese history. John Graham Chambers endeavored to introduce and promote the concept of a style of wrestling that he denominated "the catch-as-catch-can style" of wrestling (aka Catch Wrestling or "Professional Wrestling").

One of the very few things that absolutely sucks ass about getting older?

I’ve always liked vintage shopping and have been good at it, and I got it into my head that I’d like a version of a coat I picked up at 18 at a random yard sale in my hometown for $10 in a size that’d fit me now. Easy peasy, obviously, I’m in a big city now and my budget isn’t limited to “minimum wage part time dishwasher/prep cook”, right? There were always plenty of that style when I got the last one in the thrift stores back then, anyway.

Fuck. I’ve been looking for months now, and 20 years of recurring trend cycles and resellers and stuff has meant that the closest I’ve found was a truly unfortunate-looking example, in the wrong colours, going for $200. Rude. Unfair. Unacceptable.

ワイドシルエットで、 この“本場”の太さが"現代"においてはオシャレ効果を発揮。

ゆとりのあるシルエットは風通し良く夏場は涼しげですよ。

ジャケットは時期的にちょっと...と敬遠してしまいますが、 パンツは通年いけるので今はパンツに軍配が上がり在庫が少なくなってきてSOLD OUT間近となっております。

髙木はパンツもサンドベージュ側が好みのようです。

I decided to do my own research and look for images on pinterest that fit the theme for each era. I looked into finding images and colours that complement each other, this has helped my understanding of each era more.

THE VICTORIAN ERA

The fashion of the 19th century is renowned for its corsets, bonnets, top hats, bustles and petticoats. Women’s fashion during the Victorian period was largely dominated by full skirts, which gradually moved to the back of the silhouette. However, towards the end of the period, the less restrictive Aesthetic style began to emerge.

THE ROARING 20s

The fashion of the 20s The 1920s was a time for glamour, dresses were covered in beads and revealed more flesh than ever before To think 10 wears previously women dressed head to toe gowns with corsets.If you were in the night social ciass it was a time for partying and living life to the full. Society girls could be seen drinking, smoking and riding around in cars from party to party. La Garconne translates "the bachelor giri" or "the flapper*Cover of La Garconne (1922) by Victor Marquentte. The novel from which the fashionable look of the 1920s is belleved to have got its name. The illustration depicts the books scandalous heroine, Monique Lerbier, who cut her hair short wore men's shirts/ jackets and ties, and gave birth outside wedlock. In reality La Garconne at the time more of a derogatory term for women of loose morals newly liberated woman, freed from the ' Gibson girl' corsetry and S bend silhouettes of the Edwardian era, and the constraints on her lifestyle that such clothing, inflicted on her.Garconne look was evident primaniy in cut rather than fabric. The straight-cut the chemise dress was to become the dominant, line for day and evening wear. These fashionable young women from 1926 are wearing cloche hats and decorated drop waisted dresses with matching coats. The long string of pearts/beads was a must have. The Great Gatsby is a 1925 novel written by American author F.Scott Fitzgerald, the story primanly concerns the young and mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and his obsession for the beautifui Daisy Buchanan.The Great Gatsby explores themes of decadence, idealism, resistance to change, social upheaval, and excess, creating a portrait of the Roaring Twenties.(Roaring twenties influenced Ralph Lauren Gucci Maria garchvogel)

The 60s are known as one of the most fashion conscious times in history. Styles that began in the decade have had a noticeable influence on the fashion today. Women’s fashion in the 1960s was full of change. Unlike the previous decades, the 60s were a time of emerging and diverse trends. From sophisticated and casual to bright colours and bold prints, the 60s embraced it all with stylish flair.

Outfit details (and a little backstory) from a recent night out:

I essentially have a fairy godmother aka last summer I went to a garage sale in my neighborhood and the women who was running it out of her garage was this 50 something year old entirely grayed fabulous woman named Lucille who has a stockpile of vintage designer that rivals The Real Real … and also happens to have the same size in dress and shoe as me as luck would have it. She’s wonderful and I constantly run into her taking out the trash while I’m on the walk back from my organic grocery store and we get into little chats that last up to 20 minutes where we talk about her handmade christmas cards and her time working in the fashion industry.

About a month ago I spotted this piece at her bi-yearly garage sale and couldn’t afford it at the time ($70 was/is steep for me! We’re working on it!). I asked her to put it on hold for me and truly waddled my way through life thinking about how bad i wanted to get it. A week before my event she also texted me saying she found a body form for me — and would promptly be bringing it home all the way from the Hamptons for me. And so hence, one Wednesday afternoon I walked the 5 minutes to her apartment and came home with Lady Godiva and my vintage Marc Jacobs.

I paired it with a 60’s handbag I got from a vintage store around the corner from me (I’ve lived in this area for 5 years and have barely so much as waltzed in as I have in the past month!), 90’s brown leather boots, amazon gloves (yuck I know — however I’m trying to build an etsy vintage glove collection, and also I plan I keeping these gloves for as long as they withstand NYC), drugstore stockings, my occasion diamonds, and a goodwill thrifted Club Monaco faux fur trim coat (pictured here). And also a gin martini with a twist.

I had this look planned for weeks! Envisioning it in my head and how it would be very out of my comfort zone but ultimately I’ve been dying to try something new and dress up in a way I’m not really used to, but felt authentic to me. The subtle magenta under sheer black felt very me, even if it seems very ordinary Little Black Dress esque, but this detail is really what made me fall in love with the dress. I feel like I succeeded, I felt fabulous, and the gloves and purse were a hit at the after party!

In the grand scheme of my own personal fashion journey, it’s the first piece of “designer” wear I’ve ever owned. It’s double silk, and I believe it’ll be the first piece in my closet I’ve ever gotten dry cleaned.
