Peacocks of Sri Lanka
If you are on a safari in any national park in Sri Lanka, you will hear the distinctive rustling sound almost like a drumroll all over the park that is created by the peacocks. These birds have many different sounds that they can make, which makes them unique among other animals on earth.

6 hour Road Trip | Colombo to Thanthirimale | Mannar - Trinco trip | #srilanka | Day 1 | #road #trip
Hello, Welcome to Life With Us
Last December, we traveled to Mannar and Trincomalee in Sri Lanka. It was a three days trip. We selected the 24,25 and 26 of December 2022 for our journey since it's Christmas eve.
We packed everything that we needed for our journey. The next day, the day of our trip, we left Colombo around 4 a.m. since we had to drive nearly six hours to reach our first destination, Thanthirimale. On our way to Thanthirimale first, we stopped at a restaurant after almost a two-hour drive from home since we felt hungry. Because we hadn't anything yet and since it was a rainy day. After having something, Again we started our journey. It was a beautiful feeling since we were driving in the rain. We saw paddy fields, mountains, and beautiful scenery through the water drops of the window of our car. While driving in the Puttalam district, fortunately, the rain went away. Then we stopped by a tank to have our breakfast. We brought sandwiches, cake, and coffee for the morning. It was a beautiful tank covered by the morning mist. Oh. What a scene! After having breakfast, we started our journey again. Tantirimale, located in Anuradapura district. It is an ancient temple. There is a lovely story back there. I'll tell that story in my next blog. Finally, after a six-hour drive from home, we reached our first destination, Tantirimale temple.
In our next blog, we share our experience of the Tantirimale temple.

Understanding the climate and seasonal variations is crucial for planning a memorable trip to Sri Lanka.
Tumblr media
Peak Season: December to March:
The peak tourist season in Sri Lanka coincides with the dry northeast monsoon, offering ideal weather conditions for exploring the island.
Clear skies, warm temperatures, and low humidity characterize this period, making it perfect for sightseeing, beach activities, and outdoor adventures.
Popular attractions like Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Yala National Park, and the cultural triangle are best enjoyed during this time.

Shoulder Season: April and September to November:
The shoulder seasons offer a balance between fewer crowds and favorable weather conditions, making them an excellent time to visit Sri Lanka.
April marks the transition from the northeast to the southwest monsoon, bringing occasional showers but also lush greenery and blooming landscapes.
September to November sees the onset of the northeast monsoon, bringing intermittent rain to the east and north-central regions while the southwest remains relatively dry.
Wildlife enthusiasts can witness the elephant gathering at Minneriya National Park during the dry season (July to September).
Tumblr media
Off-peak Season: May to August:
The southwest monsoon brings heavy rainfall to the western and southern parts of Sri Lanka during the off-peak season.
While the weather may not be ideal for beach activities and outdoor excursions in these regions, the hill country experiences cooler temperatures and lush vegetation, making it an excellent time for exploring tea plantations and hiking.
The Cultural Festival of Kandy in August is a highlight during this period, offering visitors a glimpse into Sri Lanka's vibrant culture and traditions.
Conclusion:
The best season to visit Sri Lanka depends on your preferences and interests. Whether you seek sunny days for beach relaxation, cultural immersion, or adventurous expeditions, there's a perfect time to experience the wonders of this island nation.
