7.31.19 "Fortnite Season X"
Fortnite Season 10--or Season X, as developer Epic Games is calling it--has officially begun. As always for the start of a new season, there are a number of big new features for players to enjoy. One of the major new additions is the B.R.U.T.E. suit, a two-person vehicle that lets one player operate the turret and the other move the machine around. There are also Rift Zones, which have been created by the Zero Point Explosion. As a result of this theme, Season 10's map changes involve bringing back old elements from the past. For instance, the comet that previously crashed into the island is back and hovering just above its impact point. As a result, Dusty Divot has reverted into Dusty Depot. (GameStop)

8.24.19 "Andrew Luck" In the most shocking development of the NFL offseason, Indianapolis Colts star quarterback Andrew Luck will retire from the NFL. Luck was seen on the sidelines of the Colts' preseason game Saturday night, where he was booed by Colts fans. He then confirmed the burbling news reports during a postgame press conference. The injuries he battled throughout the past few seasons had simply taken too big a toll on his psyche, he said. "I felt stuck and the only way out of it is to no longer play football," Luck said. "It's taken my joy away from the game." #GoogleTrendsGX #visualgoogletrends #graphicdesign #trending #posteraday #dailyposter #posters #typography #eyeondesign #posterreposter #itsnicethat #visualgraphic #dailyposter #AndrewLuck #NFL #Colts

It peaked early Sunday morning when 17 people were shot in two hours in a two-mile area on the West Side, accounting for about a third of those shot over the weekend. Three women and four men were wounded in Douglas Park by someone in a passing black Camaro; two woman were shot an hour later on the other side of the park; eight people were hit about an hour later, just blocks away, including a man who died. By Monday morning, 55 people had been shot across the city, seven of them fatally. The victims ranged from 5 to 56 years old, and the shootings stretched from Rogers Park on the North Side to West Pullman on the Far South Side. Nearly all the gun violence happened on the West and South sides. (Chicago Tribune)
