When I finished the last episode, I literally made note of the time so I could calculate how long it took me to watch all six Studio Gallop yugioh shows.

At some point, I started mentally rewriting Ai saying "glitch" as "shit" or "fuck", because I thought it was funny. This made the final line an EXPERIENCE.

5th: C is for Chaos Chaos is both a force of evil and the essence of life in Zexal. For this prompt, you can go either way. Share the craziest thing you enjoyed about Zexal or put your favourite character in a chaotic situation. Alternatively, draw a character in Zexal getting corrupted by Chaos.

I love Zexal month because it's a great excuse for me to revisit the entirety or the anime again and subject everyone to it XD (and post these juicy Full HD screenshots)

I have talked about episodes 96, 97 and 98 before and I'll never get tired, the mini arc, season finale, Sargasso, they're my favorite. Corrupted Astral is delightful, and so is Dark Zexal, the whole thing leading to Zexal II is great too........... just very solid overall

going over it today, I noticed something really nice about Astral's characterization:

up until then, he remained in this passive, supportive role - which kind of makes sense, considering Yuma is the one with the cards to play the game, not him - with very few exceptions. When he gets corrupted by Chaos, he flips the script, and we love to see it! He quite literally takes over the place of the protagonist and participates actively in a duel where he would, normally, watch

I feel, though, it is kind of sad that Astral's whole....... everything is to serve a purpose, to fulfill a role. He is not allowed to be to the very end of the show (and it seems it goes even beyond the end too), and getting taken over by Chaos was that awesome moment where nothing mattered: not his mission, nor collecting Numbers or being the brains for the protagonist. All he wanted was more power, and destruction, even if it came at the cost of his own (and Yuma's) life.... which is all very similar to Number 96, and I find that very funny

thankfully, there were plenty other stances of corruption in the show, mainly caused by the Numbers driving people crazy, or Chaos itself. Zexal is a great story for horror fans, too, surprisingly (but I guess that's kind of a sub-theme in all of the spinoffs up until Vrains)

OH OK SO ALL THOSE UNLOCK EVENTS WITH CHARACTERS WHO SHOULDNT BE ALIVE??? ALL THOSE INSTANCES OF CHARACTERS BEING HERE WHEN IT SHOULDNT BE POSSIBLE??? All of those moments of DL denizen memories being read and recreated?? that's just A SIDE EFFECT. OF THE ACTUAL INNER WORKINGS OF SETO KAIBA'S WILD RIDE. DUEL LINKS IS ACTUALLY LINKING AN UNTOLD NUMBER OF CONSCIOUSNESSES ACROSS THE MULTIVERSE, FOR AN UNKNOWN REASON weaving these dimensions and their inhabitants (living AND dead) together in the process, potentially irreversibly. Linking their subconscious thoughts together and creating a virtual playground from the resulting slurry. I'd call it a hivemind BUT IT'S NOT EVEN THAT. IT'S SOMETHING EVEN WEIRDER. The minds of dozens of Yugioh characters being linked together but keeping the individual intact. And for what. FOR WHAT!!!!

"What will happen when every mind is connected?" YEAH GREAT QUESTION. WHAT WILL HAPPEN, SETO??????? since this STILL does all link back to one rich kid with a grief processing deficiency. haha... "link."

GOD. SPINS AROUND REAL FAST. this is huge and this is baffling and this is scary and i am SO excited for happens next. Where do we go from here!!! Why's Ai being so quiet all of a sudden!!! How do the Rush Duel Worlds fit into all this!!! Is the VRAINS gang going to be able to MAKE CONTACT with characters from the other worlds????!?! PLEASE. PLEEASE. we've now got a solid baseball team's worth of guys looking into This Increasingly Complex and Cosmically Horrifying Freemium Mobile Game's Inner Workings and i cannot WAIT to see what the next breakthrough is!

Dear Yu-Gi-Oh fans who have watched Zexal and Arc V,

I'm currently just watching GX and Vrains, and I am well aware that Judai and Yusaku have issues, but I have seen memes and out of context screenshots involving Yuma and Yuya that have me simultaneously laughing my ass off, confused, and concerned. Like these ones, for example:

...I'm just concerned about them, especially considering Vrains and the spoilers I've gotten about GX. These two seem like the types of guys who would happily drag me into a very silly adventure, and I need some explanations as to what the hell is going on with them. Are they okay? Give me the silliest and most concerning explanations you can to explain Yuma and Yuya to me, someone who has not watched Zexal or Arc V.

I've been in a little Vrains phase recently. Vrains my love... Vrains my love thoughts...

if you asked me what my favorite episode was then I'd say the one where Kusanagi and Yusaku fuck around doing that one puzzle in Vrains. I love them as a duo so much, Kusanagi being such a cute father/older bro figure to Yusaku yet Playmaker dragging his ass along in Vrains, only made better given what Kusanagi's Vrains sona looks like. Vrains Kusanagi is a stupid nerd (I love him) while irl Yusaku is a stupid edgy little hoodie guy (I love him also). They are soooo cute I will give my life for them

Also the way that, despite being arguably the most botched Yugioh in production, and despite the very obvious quality drops depending on who (I'm guessing) animated the keyframes from episode to episode, I swear to god Yusaku gets the most pretty shots. The amount of screenshots I had to take of his pretty face as I skimmed through every single episode for AMV purposes, is significantly larger than my collection for any other protag. I need to make a compilation of just him looking pretty, but also I'm so excited to work on an AMV again. Finally, I get to almost remember what it's like to be happy. That said, I do wanna draw him too... even though I'm trying to force myself away from fandom fanart to some degree, seeing how unhappy it tends to make me

Ryoken still fave though even though Kusanagi has risen up in my fave ranks so much. You cant beat bullet jewelry gun dude. I hope Yusaku gets a kiss from him (and everyone else too)

So i’m finally rewatching vrains episode 4 for my screenshot redraws and I realised something, in almost all of Go Onizuka’s duels theres a plot point of him nearing disqualification because he struggled to stand up after loosing some life points, like it happens to him more than anyone else.

Anywayss I have decided that he used to be an actual wrestler, and an injury from a fight gave him issues with walking/balance so he took up duelling instead, that doesn’t mean that it isnt still difficult for him to do the physical part of speed duelling. Explains why hes the only one that had to physically train in order to try out speed duelling too
