I bet the mad science team and the merch science team got a weird rivalry going on after the events of episode 3 in HLVRV.

Like nothing major, because the Mad Science Team does their villainy in their own dimension. But they DO have the space caddy, which means that they could very well go on an inter-dimensional vacation if ever desired.

And when they do I could imagine them just by sheer coincidence (as far as they know) running into the Merch Science Team every. Damn. Time. Because they keep trying to run things like cruise ships or hotels and ultimately failing.

Hotel? Merch Science Team. Cruise Ship in Space? Merch Science Team. They basically end up doing anything BUT another resort.

They insist that they're over the whole "wanting to kidnap the entire VRV crew for the sake of marketability" but I think they may definitely be. INCREDIBLY petty. Not because their plan failed, but because they also looked incredibly stupid in the end.

But a rule of the mad science ettiquette is: "Pettiness is only justifiable with an over-the-top presentation". So the Mad Science Team is equally petty (or at the very LEAST, Sleepless is), and that pettiness is expressed through elaborate prank wars that usually end up with ruining the Merch Science Team's business.

Also both Dr. Coomers will just shit talk each other directly. Speaking of Jayrockin's specbio works, we're just. Assigning VRAI/VRV characters species from the Jayrockin Extended Universe (their MLP stuff + Runaway to the Stars) because of course we are. I'm imagining that the Tiny Sapient Ungulates/MLP species are also spacefaring in this AU, but still have the near-religious respect for the Alicorns (this is a surprise tool that will help us later!) So far we've got: All Y2KVR characters are sentient AI much like Bip. Y2K Benrey (we've dubbed him as Messenger) takes the form of a larval/"evil" changeling after turning blue, originally looking like a adult/"good" changeling and essentially molting in reverse once he realized he was stuck in the computer indefinitely. Y2K Bubby is definitely a kirin because. He's the FIREwall and MLP kirins... set themselves on fire when angry yeah you get where this is going. Y2K Tommy is a virtual bugferret because family oriented guy. Y2K G-Man probably is also a virtual bugferret, and it's a good job he's virtual and not an ACTUAL bugferret or he'd be all kinds of fucked up from isolation. Y2K Darnold is probably some kind of pony because he just feels like a pony to me. Y2K Forzen is the "human" of the cast, human being in quotes because virtual. Y2K Coomer is a centaur to me for reasons I cannot explain. He just IS. VRAI Benrey + Swap + Da Boss + all non Y2K G-Men are similar to what they describe Discord from MLP as, aka "less a creature of biology than a roiling mass of extra-dimensional limbs". Da Boss is significantly weaker than the others, possibly because the Resonance Cascade of his universe was keeping his powers limited. On the subject of G-Man and his relatives, thinking that non-Y2K Tommies are all magically created creatures because G-Men, being horrific creatures (/pos) from beyond the universe, probably couldn't have kids with normal creatures. I'm thinking they're something similar to Glyph, one of Jayrockin's MLP OCs, in that they're not actually biological creatures but rather sentient constructs of some sort. Unlike Glyph, they don't eat souls. Malcom is a good old MLP unicorn (TOTALLY NOT BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT OUR GAMER BOY'S SONA IS. /lying) Capital M is a changeling, specifically the larval/"evil" form, possibly molting and reaching a proper adult form post-Last Resort. (Not because that's MY sona, definitely not. /lying again)

Sleepless and Doc are, in my mind, a dynamic similar to Pinkie and Brownie from Runaway. They're pair bonded. Doc sees the rest of the Mad Science Team + the other Gordons as platonic family, and he and Sleepless are romantic family. However, Sleepless is in fact not a bugferret. Sleepless is a Skimmer Avian because they just feel right. This means that the Sleepless/Doc relationship probably has some weird bits, considering the bugferret family thing and the avian "not really common to live with partners" thing. This might also explain part of the reason Doc felt so betrayed by Sleepless in In Your Dreams, because not only did Sleepless "side with" GVRV knowing what he did, he also abandoned Doc, leaving him completely alone for the first time. It's a really, REALLY good thing that the Admins picked Doc up when they did. This also makes GVRV promising Doc his family MORE fucked up because while Doc may have THOUGHT he had his family, he would still be completely isolated, even more so than he was before. Freeman is also a bugferret for similar plot reasons to Doc. Admin C, like all Tommies, is a magical construct, but he was made to look like an Alicorn because GVRV's thought process was "If my son looks like what amounts to a deity figure, I can use him to manipulate Equestrian society". Keyword, he was MADE to look like an Alicorn. He ended up getting a little messed up in the construct creation process, so he looks more like a really fucking tall unicorn. He has wings, but even though he's a magical construct, he can't actually fly. GVRV was... not happy about this, at all. The other Admins think Admin C is so fucking cool though because he is literally made of magic and consumes magic to survive and HOLY SHIT he's so epic to them. Admin F is an ACTUAL kirin and not just a virtual one. Same goes for VRAI Bubby. Same goes for Admin P/VRAI Coomer being a centaur, VRAI Forzen and probably admin!Forzen being humans, VRAI/admin! Darnold being ponies, etc. Neo is an interesting case. He's a bugferret who gets most of his social interaction from virtual sources, and they're just. OK with it. Maybe they get overstimulated by crowds and he just prefers to communicate through digital avenues.
