exploring gmod maps on your own (or with friends) specifically ones that VenturianTale used in their videos is a lot of fun but also feels very surreal. especially when u discover details about the map that weren't addressed or even seen in the original Vt Video. (example: THE TIMOTHY CASKET DRAWING SHOWS UP IN THE BACKGROUND IN SO MANY VIDEOS AND ITS LIKE SUPERNFITTING GOD WHY IS JORDAN FRYE STUPID?????)

anyways i definitely recommend if you want inspiration for your world building of ur silly pie au :3 it definitely helped me a lot/gen

like the horror maps- also the town from the johnny ghost retirement arc is a good one. "Little Town" something i think is the name.

the beauty of the VenturianTale world (rhe concept of what the original source material could be interpreted as) is so... beautiful and has so much potential

gmod being where the world building happens is a fun opportunity.

those who play gmod for the exploration and liminal vibes gets what i am talking about.

a world that's based on how gmod works as well as its aesthetic is so.... 😳 cool????

Well the new Unus Annus video made me go analyze some VT thumbnails.

My conclusion: They’ve had some very good thumbnails and some really shitty thumbnails *glares at Thanos Gauntlet era* and right now I’d say they’ve got some good ones.

Also: The “Most Popular” section is so full of FNAF videos holy shit. I mean, their FNAF Gmod videos are excellent, but still out of the top ten most popular videos, nine of them are FNAF.

So having FNAF in those thumbnails probably helped lol.

First non-FNAF in the most popular section is the “Gmod DOMO Destroy A Temple Map! (Garry’s Mod)” video. I’d say the thumbnail probably wasn’t a huge factor in that one’s success but hey maybe DOMO was really popular six years ago, I wasn’t really allowed on the Internet much back then so I have no way of knowing.
