@lotharx location: Nornwatch Keep notes: the beginning of those first two weeks at the keep
Snow fell over the opening of the cave mouth as the witchers moved the last of the barricades that concealed the hidden route through the mountains. Light from the dark clouds above filtered through and Alrik stepped into the clean air of the open cold and took a breath. He’d said once that nothing could make him go back to an Iskaran mine, but that vow had shifted through the battered wind of change that fell upon Alrik and Alessia. They had called the mountain salvation and in the quiet dark, he’d considered the madness he’d felt when he’d been pushed underground. Back then the witch had traveled into the deep in chains, this time Alrik had gone willingly - that was the difference he carved away.
That had not made it any easier, reduced to muttering to himself under his breath in private conversation as he mulled over the possible motivations of the conquerors who’d taken everything from them over the course of a single fortnight. But the sky was liberating, not just for him, but for Valr.
Alrik removed the bird’s hood and lifted his arm, watching with some liberty as the falcon flew with unabashed liberation for the first time in a fortnight.
“If only it were so easy for the rest of us.” Alrik said to the nearest person: from the mouth of the cave the refugees were making the short pilgrimage from the mountain to the Keep only a short distance away. It was imposing, but nothing like what Alrik had imagined. Stained walls that looked broken or breaking in places, and only one or two figures on the walls. Not much of a guard.

'Side Story' Chapter Guide
Tumblr media
Inspired by @marzena-doe, I've collected all of the descriptions in one post. Art by the amazing Neldorwen and Plustina.
Defenders of the Earth: This Is Their Side Story
Chapter 1, "Those Three Seconds"
Following the conclusion of the TV series, Krotan and Jedda have fallen in love, Rick's sister April has returned from training, Mandrake's daughter has joined the group, and Earth's governments have teamed up against Ming.
In the Bandar village, one of Ming's ships tracks Krotan and Jedda -- but there may be more to this than there initially appears.
Chapter 2, "Mongo Is Burning" (1)
Rick seeks to halt the political wedding, claiming that it won't truly foster peace. But April confronts him before he can act.
Chapter 3, "Mongo Is Burning" (2)
Amidst the ongoing ceremony, several Defenders find themselves at odds. Finally, Jedda declares that she's marrying Krotan, whom she loves, as their union will help bring the battles to an end.
Chapter 4, "Alive"
Rick and Amy bond in an unexpected way.
Chapter 5, "The Coming Storm"
Amy rushes to her ailing foster mother, only to realize that she's fallen into a trap.
Chapter 6, "Crescendo"
Hoping that Hadea can heal May, Amy and Rick reach the Netherworld just as Ming begins an invasion.
Chapter 7, "About Our Arrangement"
Against the wishes of others, Amy makes a bargain with Damian Dark.
Chapter 8, "Forward"
As the Defenders head to Amy's aid, Hadea's forces meet Ming's in a climactic battle.
Chapter 9, "Unthinkable"
Flash informs Rick that they need to free Ming from prison, as their enemy has information about a pending attack on Earth.
Chapter 10, "So Spoke April"
April and Lothar learn that someone is planning to assassinate Hadea, which prompts April to take drastic measures to stop them.
Chapter 11, "Defending The Earth"
As April's trauma continues, LJ and Rick break Defender code and attempt an attack on a hostile world. This decision draws the immediate ire of several governments around the globe, which leaves the other Defenders with a horrifying choice while they scramble to stop their companions.
Chapter 12, "Defenders of Mongo"
With Ming's downfall leaving power up for grabs, Castra takes the throne, and abductors use Tevrok as leverage while attempting to force her resignation. In response, Jedda and the Royal Five begin a complicated rescue mission.
Chapter 13, "Home"
Hadea grows tempted to remain on Mongo and rule as queen. Castra wishes to retain the role, despite being far less qualified.
Chapter 14, "Players and Pawns"
Kshin and LJ seek to counter Veena, whom they believe will bring Damian back. A vehicle from Earth attacks Mongo's palace, reigniting tensions between the worlds. Rather than casting a spell on her dad, Veena does something that no one expects.
Chapter 15, "Life"
The group leaves to visit a particular site, unprepared for what will await them there.
Chapter 16, "Houses Divided and United"
Castra, Aura, and Jedda vie for the position of queen on Mongo. Kshin and Flash learn who was behind the attack on the palace. April and Dale enjoy an afternoon together.
Chapter 17, "Firstborn"
During the Great Rebellion, Flash and Dale fought alongside Barin, Tevrok, and Cas. Amid this struggle, Flash learned that April was not Dale's first child, which led to a recorded tryst with Castra -- which, years later, led to Jedda using leverage to seize the throne. In the present, Dale reveals that Veena is her oldest daughter.
Chapter 18, "Antiheroine"
Veena uses her powers to help others, and begins bonding with Dale.
Chapter 19, "Convergence"
Flash learns that there are multiple dimensions with people who resemble those closest to him -- though some of them might be a little bit different.
Chapter 20, "The Princess Makes Her Move"
In Dimension K, Ming the Merciless gets rid of his wife, then proceeds to wed his stepdaughter Hadea, who harbors an ambitious agenda herself.
Chapter 21, "Replacement"
As Rick and Amy grow closer, a mysterious young woman arrives from Dimension Y and takes Dale back with her.
Chapter 22, "Relatives"
After spending some time with Duffy and her father, Dale departs for Dimension K, only to discover that she isn't alone.
Chapter 23, "A Growing Ensemble"
Hadea tasks Dale with traveling to Earth H to retrieve the Necklace of Oros. Princess Jedda helps Dale and Duffy escape captivity and reach Earth B.
Chapter 24, "Building A Bridge"
Now a mother of four, Dale attempts to ease tensions between April and Duffy, the former of whom harbors a quiet grudge. Eventually, the girls discover something that they have in common: a longtime love of mechanics.
Chapter 25, "The Gatemaster"
Rick learns that Duffy might gain the power to open dimensional portals, which would make travel between Earths more convenient, and create the possibility for great collaborations among worlds.
Chapter 26, "Vanity"
Using a vision of the future to her advantage, Hadea prevents her downfall and remains ruler of Earth K. Believing herself unbeatable, the queen acts recklessly amid a subsequent battle, which proves costly.
Chapter 27, "Easier"
April's success as a sniper begins drawing the attention of several individuals and organizations. All will seek her help in either solving problems, or preventing them. The very first person who approaches is her aunt Abigail, a government agent.
Chapter 28, "I Know"
Amy departs for Dimension P to liberate Earth from her mother Cathleen.
Chapter 29, "Assembly"
On Earth C, Kristina Graf and Kurt Walker begin assembling a team of Defenders to counter Ming.
Chapter 30, "Teammates"
Duffy and April are approached by Clare Madden, cunning daughter of the madman Kent. What follows is a complex operation in which nothing is quite as it seems.
Chapter 31, "Dreamers"
Ever since she was a girl, Sheila dreamed of becoming Mongo's queen. She appeared to be on the verge of gaining the position when Ming assigned Hadea to the Netherworld, and chose Sheila to succeed him. But things got complicated when she fell for Flash Gordon.
Chapter 32, "Parental Guidance Required"
Duffy is thinking of her father on Earth Y. Phantom is thinking of his daughter on Mongo. Sure enough, the two find themselves having a conversation. At the same time, April's discussion with Sheila is interrupted by a distress call from Monitor.
Chapter 33, "Internal Affair"
Several Defenders confront the new attacker, a challenge that proves tougher than expected. The person behind the assualt is ultimately revealed.
Chapter 34, "Pre-emptive Measure"
With Duffy's help, Dale and Abby organize a strike on an island base.

Update: Supposed to be back to Berlioz now but have been sidetracked by this ridiculous playlist
Currently on Overture in C Minor, D. 8a, which he composed when he was 14 (track 14).
2/1: Made it to Kyrie in B flat major, D. 45 (track 47)
2/7: Apparently last time I listened to this, I added both versions of "Der Jüngling am Bache" to my Schubert playlist because I couldn't decide which I liked best (Fischer-Dieskau or Lothar Odinius). Edit: Definitely Fischer-Dieskau, but I love it enough I will probably keep listening to both of them. Also I am very amused by how hard Odinius hits the K in "Knabe" + what a cool name
Was wondering the fuck the first movement of String Quartet No. 4 was making me tear up but I think I'm just happy to be listening to Schubert again lol
Composer of the week Schubert year
Made it to the end of the string quartet (track 51, D. 64)
2/8: Made it to the end of String Quartet No. 6 (track 81, D. 74). Seven vocal works and then it'll be time to relisten to his first symphony!
2/9: Track 93! Zoned out for almost the entirety of Symphony No. 1, but I've listened to it before, so...onward
2/10: Track 120! Unfortunately about four hours' worth of tracks have been removed from Spotify since the playlist was made. I decided to ignore that and maybe go back and listen to other versions of the missing tracks later, but there is a whole album of waltzes missing in the 100s...so I guess I will look for those and try to fill in any larger gaps I come across
2/24: Wow that was a long break. On track 151 now and FINALLY??? found something I don't like: "Wer ist groß"! It's a bit too musical-y for me. Though disliking it kind of makes me like it?
3/4: Track 170! Two fun little songs from this listening session: "Schafers Klagelied" and "Ammenlied." Finally made it to (and then past) "Gretchen am Spinnrade"! Which I had heard before, but this playlist is so massive that it's exciting getting to anything I recognize. Next time I'll be starting off with Symphony No. 2
3/11: Track 230! I hit the part of the playlist with those missing waltzes so will have to find another recording of them. Starting off the next listening session with his first piano sonata!
4/3: On track 264! I considered skipping lieder but decided not to. The man wrote a lot of songs. It is what it is. Also he's 18 now!
4/16: Just listened to D. 192 and 192b, which are like extra angsty settings of "Der Jüngling am Bache." Listened to Der vierjährige Posten earlier, which was fun! It is finally sinking in that he wrote a fuckton of vocal works. I think it's like half his catalogue?! So yeah, skipping his lieder would have been a very bad move. Plus I actually really like his vocal music
Relistened to Symphony No. 3. I don't think I was that into it the first time around, but it's really nice! I am thanking Shostakovich for making me like symphonies. I don't want to say that I like his better than Schubert's, so I won't! But I guess they kind of made me appreciate their potential or how powerful they can be, in a good way. Not bombastic or oppressive. I think they also helped me to be less hung up on trying to work out my opinion of each symphony or individual movement and just listen
And maybe it's also nearly four months of listening to classical music every day. At first, I was sort of averse to longer pieces/works; I didn't want to commit to spending an hour on a symphony or half an hour on a single movement when I could listen to a bunch of shorter pieces during that same time frame. But now I don't care
Stopping for the night on D. 218, but I am going to listen to those waltzes now (D. 146)
4/18: Stopping on Minuet in A minor, D. 277a. SO MANY SONGS. Looking forward to the next listening session since it will be a bit more varied -- more lieder but also Piano Sonata No. 2, Mass No. 3, "Erlkönig," String Quartet in E major, and maybe even Stabat Mater in F minor
Also I don't know why I was using track numbers instead of catalogue numbers. They aren't even displayed in the Spotify Android app, which is how I've listened to like 99.9% of this playlist
4/19: Stopping on D. 309
4/20: Made it to String Quartet in E major (No. 11)! Stopping on D. 354
I was not super excited about making it to "Erlkönig" because I'm already pretty familiar with it, but yeah, it's awesome and also fairly easy to understand despite my toddler-level German
Current mood: Slowly being driven insane by lieder, though not so much the songs themselves as the simple and often similar-sounding piano accompaniment. Though thankfully it does seem to be a bit less dominant from here on out
4/21: Stopped on D. 385 earlier but felt like listening to a bit more before bed. On D. 397 now

1) Am I the only who thinks GRRM was trying something w/ Lothar Brune's appearance: a "squashed nose" and I'm disgusted by the use of the word but a "mat of nappy grey hair." Along w/ how after his father (so a Brune) died, he tried to reconnect w/ the Brunes but was turned away bc he wasn't of their blood. IDK but GRRM seems to imply that Lothar's mother was possibly a black woman or at least not white?? Along w/ how he wasn't handsome nor ugly fitting w/ his racist standard of beauty.
2) I think GRRM in his racist way is possibly implying that Lothar Brune is biracial??? But then again I'm so desensitized to his racist/disgusting use of "squashed nose" and "nappy hair" which he's ESP. bad about regarding Brienne's 'ugly features.' I mean her blue eyes are considered beautiful, but her too "wide/ full lips' are ugly along w/ her 'squashed/ wide nose' etc. sounds like a lot of microaggressive language.
i don’t know what to make of the character’s race, i just assume that he’s black. there’s a lot of featurism going on in the books without a doubt

Chiaroscuro lighting refers to light and dark elements in everything from photography, paintings and filmmaking.
Historically, chiaroscuro was important because it gave artists a new way to make their paintings look three-dimensional. Today, it’s important to photography and cinematography because it can be used to dramatically increase the impact of an image.
In photography, chiaroscuro can be achieved with the use of "Rembrandt lighting". In more highly developed photographic processes, this technique also may be termed "ambient/natural lighting", although when done so for the effect, the look is artificial and not generally documentary in nature. In particular, Bill Henson along with others, such as W. Eugene Smith, Josef Koudelka, Garry Winogrand, Lothar Wolleh, Annie Leibovitz, Floria Sigismondi, and Ralph Gibson may be considered some of the modern masters of chiaroscuro in documentary photography.
Henson has inspired me to take my photos. Henson has exhibited nationally and internationally in galleries such as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Venice Biennale, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. His current practice involves holding one exhibition in Australia every two years, and up to three overseas exhibitions each year.
The use of chiaroscuro is common throughout his works, through underexposure and adjustment in printing. His photographs' use of bokeh is intended to give them a painterly atmosphere.
Some of his works.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Settings I have used are under my photos.
I have experimented with different shutter speeds and iso. I could not use a lower ISO than 100, it was broad daylight, very sunny. I have gone inside the little tunnel, there I had to increase my ISO to 400 and tried different shutter speed as well that allowed even less or more light in, depending. Shutter speeds are standardized so that changing the speed will give you either one half or twice as much light (depending on which way you changed it). For example, changing from 1/30 to 1/60 results in half as much light hitting the sensor. So in the tunnel I have used ISO 100, 1/400. When I used 1/200 the light was too much, my image was not dark enough for the effect that I wanted to achieve.
It was very difficult to shoot because of a lot of pedestrians but I did not give up. I used black and white to emphasize chiaroscuro.

"Cal-or-ies. Such a big word my brooding friend." This was the most that the other had spoken yet, Alrik knew he'd drag something out of the man eventually, but he hadn't expected it to be akin to some semblance of wit. Who knew that even meat could have a mind. Alrik's hand clasped his shoulder, the fruit back in its place as he pointed readily at the Keep, "Perhaps here you will, painted across the sky - bannered in magical fire. The glorious death of the Iskaran people." Alrik left the brooding man's side in favor of walking backward toward Nornwatch, blue eyes bright, smile provoking. "Surely there are worse ways to die than with that weapon of yours in hand." It was the only way to die, as far as Alrik was concerned.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lothar could not claim to recognize the eerie silence as birds flew the coop of Iskaldrik, but he understood the chilling sentiment. When faced with danger, the animals were always the first tell; wolves and elks, snow hares and birds, all streaking through a forest in hopes of imminent survival. It'd been much like the stragglers here, each formerly at the mercy of the mages, each running for even an ounce of salvation from the relentless fumes of magic, from the blanket of fire that threatened to emblazon the Iskaran homes in agonizing infamy. The brute he'd become was once a kind conversationalist, something of a wallflower who opened up given due time, given their moment in the sun. Life had seasoned him, however, turned the flowery bits of him to twisted bramble and thorns; he needn't make nice when he was merely hoping to ensure the majority of the refugees would make it to Lysara relatively unscathed.
The Ax understood he could not promise the whole lot; it was foretold in the fates of the universe that for some, Death was their path and he often wondered why he was the overseer. Death had drifted towards his life time and time again and each kiss upon the fabric of his life almost felt akin to mocking ridicule. How often he had to lose and endure, how often he watched death drift in and out. He could not compare it to the violent rise and fall of the Veiled Sea upon Iskaran shores; Death was so often quiet, this hushed foreboding that bristled just out of sight.
"And small guy like you needs his store of calories," a rough retort, but it felt less combative than before, a silent retreat of his typically unfriendly cues. Still, Lothar rolled the apple around in the palm of his calloused hand, staring at the bright red of it's skin, crinkling his nose at the bruised flush that naturally peppered it. "I'd come across a few." A scowl flashed across his countenance next before lifting the apple to take a bite; Lothar only wished to be able to flank the mages again, to free those taken, it was a promise made and one he would guarantee would be fulfilled.

[The Almost Complete] Formation of Andaman & Nicobar Island
This post is a part of [The Almost Complete] Guide to Andaman & Nicobar Islands
Andaman & Nicobar Islands are a group of islands in the southeastern edge of Bay of Bengal. The peaks of submerged mountain ranges, the Andaman Islands and their neighbors in the south, the Nicobar Islands, form an arc stretching southwards from some 620 miles between Myanmar, Burma and Sumatra Islands, Indonesia. This arc constitutes of Bay of Bengal in the West and Andaman Sea in the East.
There are three prominent theories described for the origins of this Island
1. The Charles Darwin Theory
Tumblr media
Sir Charles Robert Darwin. in 1881, photographed by Julia Margaret Cameron ( Pictorial Press Ltd / Alamy )
In 1842, Sir Charles Robert Darwin suggested caving of a volcanic island resulted in a formation of a coral reef that lies near the shore, and the continuous caving caused a lagoon type formation with a coral ring, also called coral atoll was formed.
How Coral Atolls form by Becky Oskin, Livescience.com
The Coral Atoll Encyclopedia by National Geographic
Tumblr media
The Formation of Coral Atoll, Source – Wikipedia
A sandbank was created within these rings due to winds, waves, currents and temperatures which resulted it to become a breeding ground for birds. This resulted in the fertilization of sandbanks and ground vegetation was possible due to birds.
Tumblr media

Once the vegetation was possible it became suitable for humans to survive in the Island.
2. The Continental Drift Theory
Tumblr media
Prof. Dr. Alfred Lothar Wagener, ca. 1924-1930
Alfred Wagener was the first to suggest this theory in 1915. The southern landmass of the Earth was called Gondwana or Gondwanaland. Gondwanaland was then split into India, Australia, Asia, Africa, South America.
Tumblr media
Gondwana or Gondwanaland, Roughly 420 Million Years Ago. Source – Wikipedia
The Tethys sea once separated the Indian landmass from the mainland Asia. The Indian landmass took its sweet time to cross the Tethys Sea and unite with mainland Asia.
Tumblr media
Himalayan Ranges, Source – Wikipedia
The collision resulted in the birth of the magnificent Himalayan Range. The discovery of marine fossils at impossible heights in Himalayas confirms this theory.
Tumblr media
Shellfish Fossil found in Barucha-La, a high pass in Indian Himalayas, Source – Kelly Kochanski, http://www.kochanski.org
The eastern Himalayas extend to Arakan Yoma Range. The islands are considered to be an extension of these ranges starting from Cape Negrais, which are popularly known as Pagoda Point in Burma to Aceh Head in Sumatra, South Indonesia.
Tumblr media
The continuation of mountain ranges Andaman & Nicobar islands, Source – Google Maps
Arranged in longitudinal axis, the islands are visible upper zones of mountain ranges which have been swallowed into the sea. Hydrographic, anthropological, botanical, zoological and geological studies suggest the same. Due to some geological disturbances the mountain range sank and only the top part is visible on the sea surface.
Some researchers and scientists believe this landmass, before sinking allowed the early Negrito tribes to pass from the mainland to the island.
3. The Geological Theory
This theory suggests, the islands are created due to tectonic plate moments of the two continental plates in the seabed. The subduction of India plate below the Burma plate resulted in the landmass to rise and create the islands. Andaman and Nicobar Islands fall under “Seismic Zone V” as they lie near the boundary of these tectonic plates.
youtube
Subduction is a geological process where 1 plate slides below the another, giving rise to landmass an volcanoes. The above video by The Science Channel represents the process of Subduction.
This theory also explains the presence of volcanoes in this area.
Conclusion
All of these theories suggest the formation of Andaman and Nicobar Islands in one way or the another, neither of the theory can be completely accepted or denied. But we are sure that you can thank the forces of nature to give us a wonderful island in middle of a turquoise blue sea.

One Mosquito failed to return that spring night and here is the victor: Oberleutnant Lothar Linke, born in 1909 at Liegnitz. As Staffelkäpitan of 12./NJG 1, flying a Bf110 nightfighter on the night of 20/21 April 1943, he met an RAF Mosquito intruder (DZ386 'XD-H') and records shows he claimed it as shotdown over Holland border at 02:07 Hrs.
The bomber was caught in her return leg to England from Berlin. The crew were W/C WP Shand and P/O CD Handley from No 139 (Jamaica) Sqn. Both are buried in Wonseradeel (Makkum) Protestant Churchyard. The Mosquito crashed into the Ijsselmeer at 02:10.
Lothar Linke was shot down on the night of 13/14 May 1943. He and his crewman baled out but Linke struck the tail unit of the aircraft and fell to his death. He was credited with 27 victories in over 100 missions, 24 of them at night, including 12 four-engine bombers and one Mosquito.

“Birds can leave at any time, the birds were the first to fly, the first to go quiet before Aetheron set the sky on fire. When the trees bent and the first crop of wheat shone gold before it blew to ash.” It was a work in progress, one that Alrik quickly scrapped - too flowery, their story didn’t need to be painted with Lysaran prose but was better spun through flyted words. “You’re right, that sounds like shit. Don't worry, I'll get it.” Alrik admitted idly, he continued to watch the falcon though as it embraced the skyline - he’d held onto his nation for so long that he’d forgotten the choice that led him to stand upon Northland walls when the magi attacked a fortnight prior. Would that the witch could, he’d have chosen a vantage on the cliffs to watch it all burn away before he and Alessia blazed a trail through the eastern Spine.
The Iskaran brute he’d spoken to said little but Alrik rarely needed more than a few words to give himself a laugh. Hauntingly light and undaunted despite the harrow that the refugees had stumbled through, the liberation into the light brought with it a spark of adrenaline. Even obscured by cold, gray clouds, Alrik felt the sun hit his cheeks as it had the day that he and Alessia had cracked through the Abyss to bask under it - freedom after an age. “Only the Gods get to call down lightning, lest we crack the world in two but how easy it must be for a bird to see a fire and simply fly away.” Red orbs moved in synchronicity as Alrik hardly paid them any mind, he followed the eyes of the haggard man who looked to the past as if there were anything but death waiting for him.
Those refugees that milled their way from the tunnel marched on, likely to their deaths, among them Alrik couldn’t count one that he’d miss. His sister was already ahead, and while he owed Prospero a debt he didn’t spare much thought toward the druid otherwise. “Here,” Alrik didn’t miss a beat as one of the apples was lobbed in the stranger’s direction, to hit him square between the eyes, or make for a well-deserved snack. “Big guy like you needs his strength. Did you see them? The magi when they attacked.”

This one was young, he'd try to bolster the troupe with smiles and laughter, mindless acts of salvaged humor to pass the time, but Lothar was a difficult one to crack. A brow raised as he went to tossing apples, juggling the fruit carelessly, to which Lothar could only think of the waste if he were to drop them. There was a massive journey ahead of them, they'd already charted the spanning darkness of the underground chambers for a fortnight, and yet they'd only just begun. Hope had not been squashed from this kid, a surprising feat since Iskaldrik always seemed destined to prune it from it's community before they ever came of age. If one wasn't smuggled to the sprawling reaches of Lysara, the cold of their home often dashed out any blind wonder.
"Envy?" That cracked a snort of surprise from him, Lothar's nose scrunching mildly. Iskaldrik had burned, for all the contempt Lothar held towards the growing pains of his youth, the witchers who looked upon him criminally as they turned their nose up at the entrails of his parents, and the royals who seemed obsolete - it had been his home and now there was nothing left of it but the charred embers and fallen villages. He'd witnessed the mages capturing many through their descent, a fiery blaze had eaten up their gelid homestead and many were rounded up amidst the slaughter; it only supplied Lothar with more questions. Overthrowing a kingdom was one thing, but what would become of those who had not been given the attempt to escape? There'd been a silent promise from the Ax, a solemn nod that he'd return one day to rescue those still within the clutches of the raiders. He hadn't owed anyone such caveat, but he knew he had friends amongst them; those who deserved a chance to see the daylight once more.
Skirting past the question of envy, Lothar attempted to avoid a tangent on addressing it, "Power in the wrong hands is always an equation for trouble. Don't act like that's a revelation." Snarky and tired, Lothar's head turned to the side, eyes cast to the other refuges who staggered behind them, coming forth from the pit of darkness that had been the channels and tunnels.

Matthaus: Sane is great but Werner is a better fit for Bayern
Leroy Sane “is great”, admits Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus, but RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner is considered to be a better transfer fit for the Bundesliga champions than a winger on the books at Manchester City. The World Cup winner told Sky Deutschland: “My soft spot for Timo Werner is well known. And I don’t mean to say that I don’t think Leroy Sane is great. But you get the feeling…
