I wish I could tell the original artist that this drawing permanently changed the entire direction of my life in 2009. I want to shake their hand, look them in the eye, and admit I would not be who I am today if this drawing didn’t exist.

IT IS THE TRUTH.#little baby middle schooler jojo had just gotten squeak squad. the first kirby game she ever owned.#and she loved it even tho there’s a lot she didn’t understand #like who dedede was supposed to be or why copy abilities existed #I asked for the game because my roommate at swim camp had it and she told me the plot of the game when I looked over her shoulder to watch #(the plot she told me was completely made up btw she said kirby had to save the dimension from dark overlord and did not mention the squeak #and said stuff about meta knight being a bad guy idk I realize now she was just weaving a tale of her own haha)#SO I WAS NOT AWARE OF THE LORE. I had only played the one game and it’s the one people don’t like the plot of #but meta knight completely intrigued me #what was this blue sword wielding little kirby dude doing here??#so I’d replay his boss fight over and over again just to get that glimpse at his face #and I’d sit and wonder what it all meant. who was this mysterious swordsman??#and the boss fight was hard!!! it cost me to beat it at the time but I’d still do it to see his face #AND THEN AFTER LIKE A YEAR OF THIS it occurred to me that there was a kirby wiki online #so I found all the pictures of his face and my little fangirl-raised-by-deviantart mind ATE THIS UP.#and then I look up that one fateful google search……… the one that changed me #meta.#knight.#maskless.#and this drawing was towards the top of the results #I went feral about a fandom related topic for the very very first time #I lost my MIND. HOW can a character be so cute AND COOL??! I was a changed child.#I consumed the hoshi no kaabii anime like it was the only piece of media on earth #I drew comics about him. I made my first kirby oc ever to go on a grand adventure on him.#I filled my notebooks with kirby art to the point my mom was like ‘jossie. you REALLY need to branch out. these are just orbs.’#and now I am the kirby artist I am today. so yes. Went to my mom’s house today to have dinner with her to celebrate her birthday and told her I would need to leave in time to get some fresh Mint from a nearby grocer and she told me she had lots of mint in her garden. Then she disappeared into the rain and returned to stand outside of her own glass door, holding handfuls of plants that had just been torn from the ground. She knocked, and my father let her in. She brought me the plants, which were actually lemon balm, and then dragged me outside to prove that she definitely had mint, and I know she used to have it, because I have seen it before (which is why I believed she would be able to get me some), but we found none mint.

Which makes my mother the first person in the history of the world to accidentally eradicate mint.

i hate it when people put angel low on their character ranking what are you DOING that’s ANGEL thats angel :( hes the og spike except he’s like a different type of loser. i know he’s kind of creepy in btvs sometimes and he’s a shit boyfriend but we all have our regrets. this is hilariously ironic because i really did not like angel when i first watched btvs and now, a year later, i am a die hard bangel divorce fan

g1deon has more game than anyone else in that universe. he's got Pyrrha leaving the cops for a deranged necromancer he's got Wake fucking a deranged necromancer (him) he's got Pyrrha proxy fucking Wake because she's only ever known two people that insane and it gets her down horrendous. the man is ugly & according to Jod he mostly doesn't fuck. Wake thinks he deserves a quick death. Pyrrha loved him on sight and asked him to kiss her before she died. what is going on with this man.

I do think a lot about how a creature that's 500 years old can remain so stagnant for centuries. That it takes until now for Neuvillette to start... slowly developing some personal growth. Not quite there, but taking those small steps towards something.

Simply to me, five hundred years is a very, very long time for someone to remain the same. But it's hard for me to grasp the idea that for an immortal being that their concept of time is different. Perhaps five hundred years passes in a blink of an eye to him. And Neuvillette is very much a creature of habit. If he refuses to allow himself to form personal attachment, rarely travels beyond his home and his work, then where would the opportunities be for him to change?

And honestly, it's so interesting to think of the brief glimpses of Neuvillette in the flashbacks, who is a lot more... open with his emotions. And it's seemingly the one and only time he's openly called someone a friend. Losing Carole, having to sit there and preside over Vautrin's hearing and then personally having to send him to prison, having the last words he hears of the person closest to him be full of hate. He's been paralyzed for so long and had no one. And to think of all the other acquaintances that he might have been friendly with too, his staff and such who slowly over time began to disappear from his life due to natural consequences. No wonder the only people he keeps close ties with are fellow immortal beings as well.
