(( Felt like re-writing down my Alastor's timeline, mostly for myself, but also so others have a better understanding of what it's been like. ))

April 10th, 1898: Alastor is born to Travis and Desdemona Reed-Guillory on the outskirts of Cut Off, Louisiana. September 22nd, 1902: Alastor's sister, Josephine, is born. April 4th, 1908: Josephine passes away after accidentally drowning in the swamp. May 29th, 1908: Alastor finally snaps and commits his first murder: Travis, his own father. This culminated after years of physical, emotional, and mental abuse. Unfortunately, his method of murder (shotgun) also led to him accidentally killing his own mother, as well. Both enraged and heartbroken, he ran from the family cabin. June 1st, 1908: Alastor manages to run/walk all the way to New Orleans before he collapses. Soon after, he's found by a man named Larry Landers, who decides to take him in and raise him as his own son. April 11th, 1916: Alastor has just turned 18, and is thus eligible to be drafted into World War 1. He joins the Navy as a radio operator. This is where he's first introduced to the world of radio. November 11th, 1918: World War 1 ends, and Alastor returns home. He gets himself a job as a waiter at a diner, but this is just a way for him to earn money; his true passion was radio. July 23rd, 1923: WCBE-AM, a station dedicated to local coverage of big events (such as Mardi Gras celebrations), signs on for the first time. With his previous experience in the Navy, along with his charisma and charm, Alastor manages to secure himself a spot as a broadcaster. May 28th, 1927: Alastor commits his first murder since killing his father: a man that had been positively convicted of pushing his wife down a lightwell, only to be given life with the possibility of parole and set loose a few years later on good behavior. This sense of injustice enraged him, which led to him tracking the man down and ending him personally. After that, he made it a point to keep track of other criminals who had been set loose that he deemed unworthy of their freedom so he could kill them as well. September 16th, 1928: The station is bought by Mr. Joseph Uhalt and begins broadcasting from the Desoto Hotel in 1928, which is why the station's name is changed to WDSU (with D and S standing for Desoto and U standing for Uhalt). By this time, Alastor has risen through the ranks as one of the station's major personalities, letting him quit his job at the diner so he can focus on being a full-time broadcaster. July 16th, 1929: One month before he was meant to be married to his fiancée of nearly one year, Alastor's would-be bride broke off the engagement, claiming she'd "gotten bored" and "found someone new". That evening, he went to her home and killed both her and her new lover. This is the one and only time he's ever killed a woman. November 6th, 1933: While disposing of another body in the bayou outside New Orleans, Alastor was attacked by hunting dogs and then consequently shot, ending his life at the age of 35.

NaCl in Louisiana?? What does this even mean?
How are Southeast Louisiana homeowners, businesses, and communities affected by the Mississippi River Saltwater Intrusion?
Residents of Southeast Louisiana will face hardship as a result of the saltwater contamination. The Mississippi River today provides sustainable drinking water for thousands of people, but future salt water contamination will render the water unfit to drink. Residents who are uninformed of the hazards of salt water may believe that boiling the water will remove the salt, but science suggests that this is not the best course of action. Business owners, particularly those in the fast food industry, will be affected. Water is utilized for cooking and cleaning, however due to the high salt concentration, companies may be forced to close temporarily. The high salt water percentage in the Mississippi River also poses a significant risk to homeowners. The saline water has the ability to corrode the pipelines in the water system. Salt water can hasten pipe corrosion in water distribution systems. Saltwater intrusion, according to health officials, could erode lead and galvanized steel pipes, potentially leaking heavy metals into drinking water, depending on how long the situation lasts. As a result of the repair damage, many homeowners' insurance premiums will rise.
Do you believe the saltwater intrusion is currently being handled appropriately?
Emergency management officials have been collaborating for weeks and moving with deliberate speed on various plans to dilute the salt in water systems, including the construction of costly pipelines, rushing in fresh water from further upriver, implementing saltwater extraction equipment, and augmenting the underwater dams. In response to salt water contamination, Jefferson Parish leaders plan to construct four temporary water lines on the West Bank and five on the East Bank.
Why do you think some people are hesitant to trust authorities about the saltwater intrusion issue?
Because of the absence of security, I believe people are afraid to trust officials with the salt water poisoning. Officials are merely warning people about the hazards of the salt water crisis while giving few resources or plans for managing it. In response to environmental concerns, individuals flood grocery stores in search of water, believing they will go without. Lack of security stems from the Flint, Michigan water catastrophe; some residents are still without safe drinking water. The lack of help provided to inhabitants of Flint, Michigan does not set a good example for other U.S citizens.

A priest was identified as one of the two people police found "burned beyond recognition" in Covington, Louisiana, Monday.
The bodies of Father Otis Young Jr. and a second person were located at about 7 a.m. on E. Gibson Street, the Covington Police Department said in a Facebook statement.
A suspect, Antonio Donde Tyson, 49, was taken into custody and booked on charges of first-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping, obstruction of justice, resisting an officer, and the illegal possession of stolen things, police said.
Further details about the killings have not been released.
A spokesperson for the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office said Young, 71, died from sharp and blunt force trauma. His death was classified as a homicide.
The office is using DNA to identify the second victim, a woman, the spokesperson said. NBC affiliate WDSU of New Orleans reported that Young's associate Ruth Prats is missing.
St. Peter Parish said in a statement Tuesday that it was "devastated" by news of the killings.
"We are deeply saddened, and ask that you join us in praying for Fr. Otis and Ruth, who is still listed as a missing person, as well as for their families," the church said, adding that the suspect has no affiliation with them.

Cassandra Wilson (born December 4, 1955) is a jazz singer, songwriter, and producer from Jackson. She has been described by critic Gary Giddins as "a singer blessed with an unmistakable timbre and attack expanded the playing field" by incorporating blues, country, and folk music into her work. She attended Millsaps College and Jackson State University. She graduated with a degree in mass communications. Outside of the classroom, she spent her nights working with R&B, funk, and pop cover bands, and singing in local coffeehouses. The Black Arts Music Society, founded by John Reese and Alvin Fielder, provided her with her first opportunity to perform bebop. She received her Ph.D. in Arts from Millsaps College. She moved to New Orleans for a position as assistant public affairs director for the local television station, WDSU. She did not stay long. Working with mentors who included elder statesmen Earl Turbinton, Alvin Batiste, and Ellis Marsalis, she found encouragement to pursue jazz performance and moved to New York City the following year. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence #alphakappaalpha https://www.instagram.com/p/Clv0742LBYO/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Francine weakens as it moves inland bringing additional rain
Almost all warnings for what had been Category 2 Hurricane Francine were canceled Thursday night, a day after the storm named slammed into the Louisiana coast with heavy rains and 100-mph winds. By late Thursday, Francine was a post-tropical cyclone, and flood watches and wind advisories were in effect for parts of the Mississippi Delta, the Tennessee Valley and the Southeastern U.S. at 11 p.m. ET, the National Hurricane Center said. But what did remain in the wake of the storm that made landfall in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, were more 150,000 customers without power in the state, according to the tracking website poweroutage.us. Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry toured the hardest-hit areas across his state Thursday. “Power is the most important thing that we need right now,” he said on NBC News’ “Hallie Jackson NOW.” Landry said he hoped to have power fully restored by Sunday and urged residents to stay off the roads so utility workers could do their jobs. There have been no reports of deaths related to the storm. In New Orleans, the din of portable generators was the soundtrack across much of the city Thursday as entire neighborhoods lost power, and streets were blocked by debris and downed oak and cypress trees. The aftermath of a deluge from Hurricane Francine in Metairie, La., in Jefferson Parish, on Wednesday night. Matthew Hinton / AP Amid the mayhem, stories began to emerge of ordinary people performing extraordinary exploits to save their neighbors from harm. A good Samaritan named Miles Crawford smashed a window to rescue a driver from a fully submerged pickup truck that was caught in the floodwaters Wednesday evening beneath the Canal Street underpass in New Orleans, NBC affiliate WDSU reported. Crawford said he sprang into action after WDSU reporter Jonah Gilmore, who was doing a live shot in the area, spotted the submerged pickup and flagged down a nearby police officer. “I’m a nurse, so got to save lives, right?” Crawford, who works at the University Medical Center, told The Associated Press. Packing 100 mph winds, Francine roared ashore in Terrebonne Parish at around 5 p.m. local time as a Category 2 hurricane, battering a fragile coastal section of Louisiana that hasn’t fully recovered from a series of devastating hurricanes in 2020 and 2021. Moving at a fast clip, Francine barreled into New Orleans, pounding the hard-pressed city with torrential rains and tearing the roofs off hundreds of buildings. The low-lying city was quickly deluged, with 7.33 inches of rain reported at New Orleans International Airport. In the New Orleans suburb of Kenner, 100 homes were swamped by rainwater. Over in nearby Metairie, floodwaters turned streets into impassable canals. “Now is not the time to be out on the roads,” Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng warned on X in the midst of the storm. “All residents are urged to stay home.” In Lafourche Parish in southern Louisiana, 26 people trapped by rising floodwaters were rescued, local officials said. Some of those affected by power outages may not get electricity back for days. The utility company Entergy says it may not be able to restore power to 90% of Terrebonne, Lafourche and Assumption parishes until 10 p.m. Monday. The east bank of Orleans Parish has an estimated restoration time of 10 p.m. Saturday, the company said in a list of expected times released Thursday. The storm, even though it is now a post-tropical cyclone, was still posing a heavy rainfall threat for parts of northern Mississippi, northeast Arkansas, southwest Kentucky and western Georgia on Thursday night, and those areas could get up to 4 inches of additional rain, the National Hurricane Center said. That could be enough to cause considerable flash flooding and urban flooding, it warned. Corky Siemaszko Corky Siemaszko is a senior reporter for NBC News Digital. Conley said police are not focusing on illegal immigrants, only criminals.
“If you’re here undocumented or illegal and you don’t do anything wrong, we wouldn’t know. We would have no reason to be concerned with what you do. The issue is every time we turn around, we are having issues,” he said.
Conley said Rodriguez-Salvador is from Honduras, according to WDSU-TV.
