Micolash and Arty!!
YOU KNOW ME
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Micolash: THIS F UCKER HAS BEEN EATING MY BRAIN FOR THE LAST S I X MONTHS IT IS ONLY FAIR THAT I GET A BINGO ON HIM!!!
This guy. This fucking guy. This horrid, awful, howling mess of a guy with his nails-on-a-chalkboard voice and dead fucking stare.
He does well inillustrating the fucking insanity of the Church and TECHNICALLY he's fulfilled his role but I WANT M O R E !!! ALSO I AM S T I L L pissed about the Bloodborne fandom wiki having fuck all on him last I checked. Oh??? You're gonna mention his tenure at Byrgenwerth??? But not the fact he potentially FOUNDED MENSIS and almost certainly led it by time of the ritual????!?!? ARE YOU FUCKING K I D D I NG ME?!?!?
On one hand my characterisation of him meshes well with the wider interpretation but at the same time I am so picky and will throw a FIT over peope getting minor, subtle details wrong in a fic. In private, ofc~ I'm not a fucking cock, lmao.
Also??? What is UP with his fuckigngng MODEL DISCREPANCY??? LIke??? DID THEY EVEN LOOK?? We don't even have public CONCEPT ART for his face even though they MUST'VE S U R E LY drawn something up??!?!
Cutscene!Micolash? Creepy, dishevelled, if alright looking guy. Ingame!Mico? Albino frog crossed with the "WHEN WILL YOU LEARN" bread. Literally what is wrong with him. Eurgh. Makes my OCDtism face-aversion worse. -10000/10.
Gotta cut it off here before I fill a whole book's worth... But YEAH. Damn right he's a blorbo. Bingo well-earned.
Artorias: Artorias is a beautiful illustration about the simultaneous all-giving and yet hollowness of Lordran's valour. He has offered himself, blood, flesh, body and soul, for the protection of this realm, and it has consumed him. Everything about him, everything that made him who he was, gnawed off to this end.
I'm a bit iffy on the concept of, "oh, you actually saved Oolacile all along :) Lmao Artorias took credit. What a punk." I know I'm being facetious, but that's kinda what it feels like. It feels... Inserty, y'know? Our purpose, if any, is to link the Flame-- And it's not ours alone. That's what I like about Dark Souls, and Fromsoft games in general; it didn't have to be you. It was not preordained that you, O' player, would fix shit and save the day. There were others that came before you, greater in magnitude. And yet, that doesn't matter. You pick up the pieces. You sweep the ashes. You make bed for change.
Also I headcanon him as having a more North African bent to him. I think it goes well with his palette and the sun-themeing, and also I love projecting~ (mixed babes keep winning!)
---
Thank you for asking, Bug! Enjoy~

While Farah was always my favorite character by far, I was also very interested in the golden trio, Rosalind and Andreas as well. Their past, their personalities, the relationships between all of them (and between Sky and his 2 dads) were fascinating to me.
Season 2 didn't really deliver on those fronts; I never let myself forget that the adults were not the focus of the show but I'd say they still had a fair amount of screentime in s1, and what we got of them was very good. S2 was focused on the teens a lot more than s1 imo and it's a pity because the older characters had a lot of potential. Maybe they didn't have enough time to explore them while trying to tell the story, after all 7 episodes isn't much, but I'm still sad about it.
Random thoughts and takeaways after just finishing the season:
Ben: I expected him to do Rosalind's bidding for the sake of his kids but something about the way he alerted her of Saul being at the school felt weird to me. IIRC Roz didn't know that Saul was there at all, could he have gotten in and out without her knowing if it wasn't for Ben? Did Ben help Saul get inside the school just to turn him over to Roz? It felt more like a betrayal than a situation where Ben had no choice but it also seemed like Saul understood 🤷🏻‍♀️ and then Ben left, even though it meant leaving Terra behind with a headmistress he'd been trying to protect her from.
Andreas: he was as much of an asshole as I thought he'd be lol. Dissapointed we didn't see a confrontation between him and Saul. I saw people theorizing Sky would kill his dad in s2, maybe in a fit of rage, maybe to protect Silva, maybe because mind control was involved... they were right for the most part 😂 I didn't feel like much happened between Andreas and Sky before they killed Andreas off. Sky said a couple of times that he was getting somewhere with his dad but all I saw was a proud look ONCE and that was it. Andreas definitely cared for Beatrix, but he seemed to have no interest in Sky. I think he knew the people of Aster Dell were BW but maybe he thought it wouldn't make a difference if he told Saul because he'd still try to stop Roz. Was Bea really from AD? Or did Andreas lie to her about it?
Rosalind: so she was a total zealot trying to start a war with the BW by stealing the Dragon Flame and destroying AD. I liked this Rosalind more than s1 Roz, idk if it was the writing or the actress but it worked better for me. The scene in front of Andreas' grave was interesting and at first I thought she really cared for him but by the end of the scene I had the impression she cared in the way she would for a possesion, something that was of use to her. And was obviously sorry when she lost it before she was done with it, which is how she feels about Bloom. It was a shock to see her die so soon, but I loved that Luna used her death to justify going to war and getting people to agree with it. There's probably more to say about her but after 7 hours of staring at a screen, is all I can remember now
Saul: funnily enough this is how the show disappointed me the most I think? He just didn't feel like an actual character to me. He's the only one of the adults who is still alive and around at the end but he feels almost 2dimensional. He wasn't allowed to react to anything or it felt a bit superficial. I was laughing by the end of the season: 1) no resolution with Andreas, 2) loved the conflict with Sky but it was kind of forgotten after Andreas' death (it would've been nice to see the immediate aftermath of that for Saul and Sky) and the one scene where they discuss it Saul says some things that sounded weird, but I can't explain why, 3) Saul and Farah seemed close in s1 and yet if you told me that s2 Saul didn't know her I'd have believed it. It was hilarious to see that Saul never asked about her, probably thought she was actually on the run, didn't seem slightly concerned that Sebastian might be telling the truth about her death, etc. I love silrah no matter the nature of their relationship so maybe I'm biased? it seems Bloom told him she saw Farah again, yet it didn't seem to affect him at all. He seems unaffected after losing both Andreas and Farah. I guess it was weird to see him like that all season, almost like he was going through the motions.
Farah: I was fully prepared for anything the writers decided to do with her, so I'm not surprised. I thought I might feel sad but it actually felt like a hole opened up in my chest and sucked in all emotions. So I guess it's a good thing in a way but it also feels empty. The way she died just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, it was really stupid. While I agree that the rules of life and death can't be broken at all or at least not without consequences, this show is not known for making sensible choices in terms of storytelling, but they had to pick this hill to die on 🙄 I'd have happily waited until s3 to bring her back if it meant she could stay but whatever. There's also the possibility that Eve couldn't or didn't want to come back.
I'm kind of mad that they gave us these characters and then took them away like this but I've always enjoyed fanfic and fan theories more than the show itself anyway. This is what I get for getting attached to the adult (side) characters on a show about teenagers 🤦🏻‍♀️

If we're going for a controversial character for bingo, Jack Seward seems to fit the bill! Or if someone already asked for him, Satoshi Hiwatari/Hikari maybe?
HAHAHAHA OHHHHH BOY, HERE WE GO
... Okay, but let's start off with Satoshi 'cause that'll probably be less controversial. (Also, any excuse to talk about my boy!)
Tumblr media
"everyone but me is wrong about them" - There are very few characters where I'm LITERALLY out here like "I AM THE AUTHORITY ON THIS CHARACTER ACTUALLY, ALL OF YOU ARE WRONG." Satoshi is one of those characters.
"wasted potential" - I mean, he honestly probably was LESS wasted than some other characters in canon (Riku got SO badly effed over by canon, godammit), but that doesn't mean there wasn't still a TON of wasted potential here. I think one of the most disappointing aspects of the ending is that after spending pretty much the entire series suffering and being abused... there's never any meaningful confrontation or catharsis between him and either of his abusers? There's so much more that needed to be explored and addressed there.
"they're like a blorbo to me" - As with Dick Grayson, he's a strong contender for my #1 blorbo.
"deeper than they seem" - I should really just add this one automatically.
"I like them enough to project my own issues onto them" - this is interesting because on the face of it, I don't consider myself particularly similar to Satoshi. I guess it's more that... I connect with his character in a very personal way? And also I think that when you really love a character, there's always a certain danger of projection.
"they got done DIRTY by the fans" - So, fun story. Did I ever tell you guys that I was once so fed up with the DNAngel fandom that I made up a "Victim-Blaming and Abuse Apologism Bingo Card" with all the worst takes I'd seen? No?
... Yeah, I think that says it all.
"didn't get enough screentime" - I mean, he got a fair amount, but there's still SO MUCH MORE I WANTED TO SEE DEVELOPED AND DEALT WITH W/ HIS CHARACTER, GOSHDANGIT.
Jack Seward:
Tumblr media
"everyone but me is wrong about them" - I have this very particular reaction to the Jack Seward Discourse where it's like, I hate seeing people say they hate him and he's evil, but I also hate seeing the people who make excuses for him about things that IMO they really shouldn't? Like NO, you are NOT allowed to say you hate him and he should be kicked out of the polycule. But NO, you also should NOT be acting like it's totally fine and non-comment-worthy that he thinks letting Renfield eat kittens is a tempting scientific prospect. Goddamn!! Get it right!!
(Necessary disclaimer that in actuality everyone can and should feel however they like about his character and there are multiple valid takes, etc. etc. But also, mine is the correct one.)
"they're deeper than they seem" - I think there's honestly ENDLESS material to explore with Jack, from the way he interacts with his patients (to both the good and bad), what he represents in terms of the development of psychology, his depression and fears about his own mental health, his low-key mad scientist tendencies (and yet the fact that he has a strong enough conscience to hold himself back from going down that path)... there's SO much there.
"I like them enough to project my own issues onto them" - I honestly relate to Jack a lot, as someone who's struggled with depression for years, and decided to go into psychology partly as a result of that struggle. That doesn't mean I'm down for his dubious psychological ethics, but there's a lot about his core struggle that resonates with me,
"they got done DIRTY by the fans" - I should note that there are also a lot of fans writing really balanced, nuanced, thoughtful posts about him. But hooooo boy, some edges of the discourse can get... interesting.
"Didn't get enough screen time" - in terms of the actual story of Dracula and the need to balance all the different characters, he probably got the correct amount of screentime. But like, I would've been happy for more! He's kind of the polar opposite of what I said about the Joker, in that I probably would happily read a spinoff about whatever shenanigans he gets up to running the asylum and joining a 12-Step Program for Staying on The Mad Scientist Wagon or whatever, even if the rest of the Dracula cast only briefly showed up in it.

WHAT THE ACTUAL QUIZNACK
I'm going to begin this rant by this phrase: I made an Voltron bingo, and I crossed 9 cases by the end of episode 1.
This season was everything I have ever hoped for, like literally. I'm tagging this post as spoilers, so hopefully I won't spoil anyone. Don't read the rest if you haven't watch the season.
Okay, first thing first, papa holt. Man, the amount of feels in this episode. Matt just looking for his father, being upset that he didn't find him (I was worried his father was dead for a second, I was relieved it wasn't the case).
AND THEN LOTOR NOT ACTING LIKE A BRAT THAT WAS A RELIEF AND THAT WAS CONFUSING HE SPENT THE WHOLE SEASON BEING NICE AND ADORABLE AND I SPENT THE WHOLE SEASON ON EDGE WAITING FOR HIM TO BETRAY THEM BUT NO-
Tumblr media
(Also they got papa holt back and the only thing I was concerned about is how sam kept yelling katie and not matt like dude your other children is right next to her please notice him.)
Tumblr media
Haggar saying stuff like "began kuron stage 4" woman I need answers. And she was adorable for a split second, when she realized lotor was her son (we got nice footage of child lotor, that was pretty cute) but then she began laughing and she was just being creepy af
Tumblr media
Oh, and zarkon dies lmao no big deal.
And episode 3 was great and all BUT THE SHIRO CLONE THEORY IS BASICALLY CONFIRMED LANCE INTERACTED WITH THE REAL SHIRO ON THE LION VOID THINGY FOR A FEW SECONDS I AM CRYING WE HAVENT SEEN HIM SINCE THE END OF SEASON 2 IM CRYING.
Tumblr media
Like at this point, I believe we can all agree that the clone theory is true. It's becoming more and more challenging to prove otherwise, everything lines up.
So episode 4, lotor takes over the empire, no beagie. "Shiro" acting like a child, going on his own. Haggar can see through his eyes, he is basically a spy why.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Keith being worried for both Lotor and Shiro, I swear Sheitor people where are you at? I discover this pairing yesterday and man the only thing I could think of is how much people who shiped that must have scream.
Tumblr media
Episode 5, nice filler with the fun robot. Man, that was needed, the whole season was a huge ride.
ALSO AS SOON AS THEY SAID KROLIA MY MIND WAS RACING BECAUSE I ALREADY KNEW THEY WOULDNT NAME HER IF SHE WASNT IMPORTANT AND SHE LOOKED SO MUCH LIKE KEITH AND THEN SHE SAID I WONT LEAVE YOU TWICE AND THEN I CRIED AND THEN SHE SAID SHE GAVE THIS BLADE TO HIS FATHER AND THEN I SCREAMED
She is so pretty, I'm so gay
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Episode 6, white lion. I'm not going to talk about Oriande but the moment Lotor failed I couldn't help but think it was foreshadowing. No matter how close to allura he seemed, he didn't value life enough to pass the test, and I'm sure he is going to betray them soon enough.
Oh, and clone shiro is now my children and I shall protect him at all cost. The moment he said he didn't felt like himself was just heartbreaking? He is selfaware and confused. He needs to be saved at all cost (as long as none of my children dies please).
Tumblr media
We got some nice Shance interactions, was pretty amazing to see, we haven't really gotten that since, uh, season 1?
We got a tiny bit of Plance interactions, some screentime for hunk, a lot of Lotor/Allura, some Allurance with jealous!lance, sheitor, or sheith is general, but no klance, hopefully we get some of that sweet interaction next season.
Anyway rant time over, we still have no clue about the "romelle" leak, guess we will see that on season 6. Hunk didn't talk about food the whole season, we are getting there. I'll make memes about this season later on today, so follow me I guess?
Oh and I saw some post saying that this season was boring and that keith didn't got enough screen time and like??? This season was pure action, sure it dealt with politics but it was entertaining as well. We barely got any fillers.
Keith still got more screen time than I expected, and the big introduction of his mom makes up for his lack of screen time recently, give it a rest guys.
I completely loved this season, I can't wait until june
