Entrepreneur Matt ; Competition

For someone who wants to create a product that helps the environment, three competitors I have to face are: Tentree, Wearpact, and Alternativeapperel. Tentree is based in Vancouver, Canada. For each purchase they plant ten trees hence the name. They have a nice looking website. Simple but elegant, and a neat font. The number of total trees planted from purchases is viewable on a live counter. So far, 42,000,000 trees have been planted with a goal of 1 billion by 2030. Their facebook has them rated at 4.4/5. Most customers are satisfied with their purchase and happy about the brands cause. Some flaws however can be highlighted with customer complaints revealing the products weaknesses in quality. Namely, getting ruined with ease in the wash, cheap plastic on the caps just to name a couple. Another thing I’ve noticed is the prices are kind of expensive. A sweater can range from 68$cad to 120$cad. And t-shirts at 40$cad (excluding shipping). Social Media comments all have responses from the brand, and comments seem to suggest that their customer support is subliminal. Wearpact, suggests it’s unique from competitors as it uses 100% organic materials. Their website is simple, and gives the impression the material they use is very good from the pictures of hard workers all around the site. Wearpact is based in Colorado, USA. They’re prices for Tees range from 25$us a crew neck tee, to 35$us a baseball tee or polo. In my opinion, pretty affordable. However 80$us zip up hoodie is rather expensive IMO. Wearpact has seldom as much popularity as Tentree on facebook, getting little likes and no comments on recent photos. Though they are rated 4.5/5 on trustpilot. Material seems to be a weakness. With AlternativeApparel, they are another company striving towards eco friendly wear. They are based in London, Uk. Their website is very good looking with pictures that ‘fly’ into your line of sight through animation as you scroll through. They focus on serving 100% organic cotton, as well as one day (2021) replacing all their products with 100% recycled polyester. Reviews suggest the product is good quality and comfortable, however reviews pointing out weaknesses suggest their shipping is a hit or miss with a couple of people not even receiving the product in the first place. It seems they don’t have a social media when trying to look for it. Their prices seem to be the most affordable of the three companies. They also offer deals for bigger orders. T---shirts ranging from 18$ to 41$ depending on the type of shirt with a wide variety.
