Art in the Environment Week 1: Principle Reading: Letter of Recommendation: AstroTurf By Rebecca Giggs Reading: Conditional Art By: Robert Irwin What I learnt from reading Letter of Recommendation: AstroTurf and Conditional Art is that the context is the main and important feature in appreciation of art. Art appreciation is how to knowledge the qualities and understand the world that identify all art. The more someone appreciate and understand the style, techniques, movement, the better the person can develop, improve their own artwork and art understanding

Week 1: Reflection
I was late to enrol into the unit but once I got my head into the unit outline I was excited to see what the unit offers. During week one, I went to Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery and Edward de Courcy Clarke Earth Science Museum where I explore the artwork and understood each painting clearly and took 3 of one artwork in each gallery and museum. At Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery one artwork stood out for me because of the dark colours used and how it was all formed and structured. I took three pictures that demonstrated high quality documentation, one that demonstrates medium quality documentation, and one that demonstrates low quality documentation. I also took three public pictures of artwork around the campus that exemplify Irwin’s theory. My overall experience in week one was settling in and enjoying the art in the environment.
