To try and explain some of the more out there entries:

I once headcanoned that Lucifer and Belphegor liked eachother because neither had the will to play stupid pranks on the other or get into conflict, and that hc just stuck with me

I think he'll get a bloodshed card because I doupt he showers

I think that maybe Belphegor is very smart (he has Gusion in his country so...) and he was the type of kid that got really good grades without having to study, but then he started getting bad grades and was like "well, looks like I'll drop out" and he did just that. He's still quite smart, but he doesn't bother anymore

The "see the future" thing is kind of strech, but hear me out! What could possibly make you lazier than knowing the outcome of every choice you make. Belphegor knows the war will end eventually, so why bother fighting in it. Also, maybe he gets disturbing visions while he's awake and that's why he sleeps so much. Just a thought

Ppyong walks in on Minhyeok in the shower. If he's in big ol' Juno form he might join or something...

Maybe Ppyong enters the bathroom as a red lump then turns into Juno inside the shower area. Minhyeok be like: "Why do I feel something hard behind me???" before turning around

Just had a thought about the new card that’s been announced. Sitri’s hair is shorter than what we’ve seen, so is this pre-MC?

I’m thinking that this will be some sort of a lore-story from the past, and I’m hoping that maybe we’ll get an accompanying event, like we got with Leraye (Nostalgia), because that event was the GOAT. Like I was on the edge of my seat when the dude ran out of bullets. That event had me SAT, the drama was popping off.

Also yes, that’s me rambling to my friend on Discord about it, because I was like “Damn, new outfit, drip marketing af.” But then thought “Wait, what if this is what he’s been wearing under that waistcoat all along.”

I like this idea because, when the MC meets them (probably because they deem that they can protect them the best) Mc is shocked that the King of the militaristic Kingdom is so lazy. We start cleaning up after him and then taking care of him like a certain friend of ours. (Mc Self reflection)

Belphie is actually extremely intelligent. Despite his lazy and neet lifestyle, Belphie is extremely smart and a top war strategist. So like extremely strong, in hand-to-hand combat and knows a lot about military weapons. Occasionally if bothered enough He will step in, And that's when the enemies know they're fucked.

Of course, after he meets you, he starts making me sort of protective of you. You take care of him! And you're so kind to him, small, stupid(by his standards), and cute. How could he not fall for you? Everywhere you go you always have like two to three bodyguards around you appointed by Belphie.

The nobles look at you like you have five heads because you easily convinced there closed off King to actually go outside. You're such a good influence on him! You should come over more often :). Belphie will not do anything unless you are involved.

So in curiosity I looked up the 72 demons names and such and read them a bit, as well as thought how many of them will be where and if every king will have 10 each and special guys have extra, will any kings share a vassal? Will there be nobles who don't serve a king? There likely will be more fallen angels like beleth, for example, phoenix, according to the wiki, is a fallen angel.

A he/she!? Idk how pb will design the demons, but this one I'm excited for ( be ready for disappointment always happens to me for things I'm excited for)

This one's interesting, depending if they give him thunder powers, cuz some they did take the powers the demons had into characters and some not as much, so if furfur had thunder powers, he and leray... and the lying? Hmm, it could be a hades noble. I tell ya, but that's just a theory, a game theory!

Hmm... flauros what does "other fallen angels" mean? Are u one? Are u just knowledgeable in fallen angels? That of course could mean nothing when turned into a character

Shax gives a vibe of a tartaros noble, cuz u think It'd be funny, cuz yk mammon wouldn't care too much, while bimet would go crazy, enemy co workers, but bird motif is giving abyssos... most abyssos existing nobles , demons they're named after have a bird motif so... if so, bael would get another headache ( giving kleptophilia, but might be too predictable)

Decarabia is giving paradise lost noble due to the herb precious stones knowledge, "can change into all birds" is giving abyssos origin, but precious stone knowledge is giving tarturos, either way I think healer

Gaap as mighty as Beleth? Making me wonder... if they do make that important enough to whb, what would it mean? One sided beef with Gaap and beleth? Gaap idolising beleth? Well who knows, do wonder if "guide of four kings" would be taken to whb tho, a shared noble?

I can see people getting mad that an Amy is a male demon when Amy comes out, but as its here, the actual demon named Amy is a male . "Return to the seventh throne" is making me think, either a previous rules that's been thrown over, or like glasyalalobas vassago, where they want to throw over the existing king

Marchosias, this one's interesting, non fallen angel? How would that work? Maybe like Samael where he got betrayed by angels as he was being used? I'd say gehenna, but idk everyone seemed surprised at Lameas but it could've just been surprise at being betrayed, and not him being an angel , so who knows, especially since there's so much making gehenna being welcoming to all but so far everyone's shown to be a born demon?

And, since there's people who want a female demon interests ( like myself), and as all 72 demons are male, they could introduce other demons who aren't nobles, like lilith for example, she's not one of the 72 nobles, and I checked another thing, and in it being "female demon named Obyzouth" as well as " the 7 star sisters (a reference to the Pleiades)" according to Testament of Solomon Wiki

But that's just a theory! A game theory! For anyone who rear it go here, I'm curious, if you read the wiki, any demons yall found interesting? Have your own theories? Do share em! I think it's interesting

First Impressions + My Predictions/Headcanons (Noir Bouquet Version)

So this is a very self-indulgent list that is basically my first impression of the character, and what are my predictions of how that character is going to act like based on their appearance, their description, and just overall vibes.

In this post, I said it would be very fun to see how accurate (or inaccurate) this list would turn out, once the project finally comes out. It would also give you an insight on my interpretation of the character, and how I’ll go about writing them (until the project comes out and we get some actual canon material to go of ofc)

Badobarm:

Okay so when I found about Fragaria Memories when the main trio was already released, and tbh none of them really caught my eye. I was never a Badtz Maru fan, so I really didn’t pay much attention to his knight, and I think we can all agree that Badobarm’s design might not be the best either

But after reading his description, I became more intrigued with him because to my knowledge, he’s the only knight that is described as having a “selfish, self-centered, and rough personality”, which is a complete 180 from most of the other knights, who are all more or less, described as having a friendly and caring personality.

His description also says, that he wishes to be King, and has a good relationship with his subordinates since he’s the one that’s running the kingdom essentially, in place of Badtz Maru. I get the feeling that as much as he respects Badtz Maru, he feels like he can do the job better than he can, which may or may not cause some tension between him and Badtz Maru.

This is an interesting dynamic to think about because all the other knights, seem very satisfied and okay with their current position, and don’t seem like the type to question their lords or their King (or at least not to their face), Badobarm is the only knight that has said he wants to be more than a knight, that he wants to be King. I kinda feel like their relationship is akin to Beelzebub and Bael from WHB, where Badtz Maru kinda leaves all the kingly duties to Badobarm, similarly how Beezlebub does to Bael, but like in a less severe way.

Badobarm seems like the type to have so much ambition and drive, he’s a hard worker, and is probably really stubborn. But he does deeply care about his subordinates, even if he does have a funny way of showing it, so I can’t imagine him being a bad ruler or someone who’s like “it’s either my way or the high way!”

But I do think that because he’s so stubborn, and truly believes in what he’s saying and believe that he’s going at it in the right way, often times he gets tunnel vision, and doesn’t really always see the perspective from the other party, so that’s why he needs someone like Chaco or Hangyon to reel him in and bring him back to reality, when he gets too carried away.

Also his relationship with his bouquet members! I think he’ll be closest with Hangyon and Chaco, in Hangyon’s description it literally states that he thinks as Badobarm as a younger brother, and I also think that’s the case for Badobarm as well. But like with any sibling relationship, there are times where Badobarm would get annoyed with Hangyon (because let’s be honest this man looks like such a tease), and probably has said the phrase “shut up old man/pervert”, more than a couple of dozen times

As for Chaco and his relationship, I have no solid proof that they’re close, but given that Chaco is the only other knight that helps his lord run the kingdom, he could probably relate to what Badobarm is going through in some capacity.

Chaco

So when I first saw Chaco, again I wasn’t really blown away by his character design or anything, and just thought “he’s pretty cute” and moved on.

But when Chaco was revealed, his tagline was “A dog with hidden intentions who takes the long way around”, so obviously that peeked my interest and there were even theories floating around about him, that he was sent to the Strawberry Kingdom by SEED to spy on the lords but got too attached to Pochacco, and became a knight/double agent.

I don’t know if I fully believe that theory, I do have my predictions and what I want to see from SEED (who we know are the antagonist of the story but I’ll save that for another time), and it would be really interesting to see if a knight double crossing their lord and kingdom, which would be a really cool twist to see, but idk if I’m on board with that theory yet!

If I could describe how I interpret Chaco in one meme, it would be, “never let them know your next move”, because just looking at his face, you would never expect him to be so good at reading people or already knowing their every move before they even do it.

And as we go through the list, I think that’s a recurring theme of the Noir Bouquet, just a bunch of characters who are so good reading at people, and are so mysterious in their own ways, that you never know what to expect.

Like he seems to be always on top of everything, and I think that’s one of the reasons as to why, Pochacco was so intrigued with him and why they get along so well.

I also believe that unlike Batz Maru and Badobarm, him and Chaco, kind of rule the kingdom side by side, so it’s not like he’s burden with the task of ruling an entire kingdom by himself.

Idk I feel like he’s so nonchalant about everything and just a calming person to be around when you’re going through it. He just feels so big brother coded, like if Pikero is the brains of Noir, Badaborm is the brawn, then Chaco is the heart that keeps Noir together.

Arupek

Out of everybody in this list, I can confidentially say that Arupek is the character that I’m for sure certain is going to be nothing like I imagine him to be, and I’m okay with that!

Ngl my first impression of him is that he smokes weed 😭😭 I have absolutely NO evidence to back this up, but this is what my gut is telling me, like just look at his eyes,, something about them looks like they seen some t h i n g s 💀💀

From his character description, Arupek seems to be a very blunt and honest individual, not like in a rude way, he just doesn’t have a filter nor does he fully grasp social norms and whatnot.

I kind of see him like Kanata Shinkai from Enstars, someone who is easygoing and eccentric, and does the most weirdest and randomest things that nobody really understands (also because I can just imagine him sitting in a freezing pond to be one with the ducks-)

He has a lot of ambition but is kind of naive and is too trusting to people that he just met, it’s kind of the reason as to why he gets taken advantage a lot of the times :((

I also see him as the Baby™ of the group, not because he’s the youngest or is soft and innocent like Myunna is, its mostly because he gets in trouble with a lot of people because he has no filter.

Plus he’s always wandering around town doing God knows what, and he just seems like the type to be very forgetful and not be careful of his surroundings, so often times the Noir members have to keep close tabs on him, to make sure he doesn’t wander off to the sunset.

Tuxam

Ngl when I first saw Tuxam, I was kind of miffed at his design, mostly because the expectations I had for him based on his silhouette and the actual reality of what he looked like, was a bit disappointing tbh.

He’s also a class president, type A, kind of character and those kind of characters aren’t really my type. Funnily enough, it wasn’t until I got my first request for Tuxam, that I started to like him. I guess writing for him, opened my eyes to him and I started seeing the appeal of him.

He kind of gives me Riddle Roseheart vibes, someone who cares about the rules a lot and is very strict about it, but unlike Riddle, he doesn’t have the power to punish people to follow the rules nor is anybody intimidated by Tuxam, so often times he gets ignored.

He doesn’t have one intimidating bone in his body, so his bouquet members literally view him as like an annoying chihuahua that keeps yapping about the knight’s code of honor (affectionately) 😭😭

From what I’m seeing Noir Bouquet has a lot of characters that are really smart and are capable of making smart eloquent decisions, but they like the chaos that comes from being a pot stirrer, so they just don’t 😭😭

But from what I’ve read in his description, Tuxam doesn’t want to be seen or view as an authoritative dictating figure, in fact his advice that he gives out does come from a good place, and he just wants everybody to be the best that they can be.

But it’s his delivery and his constant nagging that turns people off from his message, the way he delivers his message almost sounds pompous and pretentious in a way. Like in his description, he’s described as a “gentleman”, with air quotes, so that could mean that contrary to how he views and sees himself, in actuality, he’s not that great of a gentleman as much he’s portrayed to be. Or it could be just a translation error, and I’m reading too much into it.

I think he butts heads the most with Badobarm, Arupek, and Hangyon. He butts heads with Hangyon because their way of thinking doesn’t align, with Hangyon putting more emphasis on indulging in pleasure and doing whatever he wants, and not caring about logic and thinks pragmatic’s are boring, and that obviously doesn’t go well with Tuxam’s logical and rational way of thinking.

For Badobarm, it’s not like he doesn’t agree with Tuxam view point and his logical way of thinking, but it’s more so, that Tuxam nags a lot, and if there’s one thing Badobarm can’t stand, is having someone tell him what to do. Like Tuxam could be fully in the right, and making some good points, but it’s the way he goes about his ideas that are so off putting, that make Badobarm not want to listen to him to spite him.

And for Arupek, it’s not because he’s rebellious or is looking to cause trouble like the other two, he’s just always has his head up in the clouds, and that can be really frustrating to deal with for a logical thinker like Tuxam.

Hangyon

NOW ONTO THE MAN THAT INSPIRED THIS WHOLE LIST TO BEGIN WITH! I fell in love with this man the moment he was revealed to the public, like something inside of me told me he’s going to be such a little shithead pot stirrer and I’m here for it!

So when I first saw his design, I thought he was going to be like a Wataru Hibiki type of character, someone who is very flamboyant, eccentric, and a bit of a flirt! And I still think that may be true, but after reading his character description for the umpteenth time, I think the whole flamboyant/flirty personality type that I previously perceived him to have, might be more of a ruse and a persona that he puts on.

“Mysterious”, “weird”, “suspicious”, and “never truly know his intentions”, are words that are mostly used to describe him, so because of that, we don’t really know much about Hangyon, but we can infer that he’s very good at reading people, able to mask his true intentions and feelings, and is a very charming individual and knows he’s very charming, so he uses that to his advantage.

I mean just going by his character design and description, Hangyon feels like a friendly guy, a social butterfly, and seems to get along with most people, so there has to be some kind of manipulation or deception at play, for him to have so many friends (?), that know nothing about him at all.

It’s kind of like that saying, “a friend to all is a friend to none”, and I think that perfectly encompasses who Hangyon is as a whole.

I feel similarly with Merold, and I honestly think that him, Hangyon, and Pikero, all fall under the spectrum of “gaslight, manipulate, girlboss, manwhore”, but just in different ways sekekjej

I get the feeling that Hangyon likes the fact that nobody fully understand him, that nobody knows what his true intentions are, because it gives him the upper hand to control and manipulate the situation on how he see fits.

Pikero

I don’t talk about Pikero a lot, but he’s right up there with my top faves! His design really caught my eyes, because I was not expecting that mad scientist vibe from Keroppi’s knight of all people.

Pikero is so interesting to me because you can literally tell from his description that he just likes to play mind games on people for the fun on it. Unlike, Hangyon or even Merold, who are more discreet with their cunningness and manipulation, Pikero doesn’t care enough to hide it.

Like this man literally made a contract with Keroppi because he wanted to study his way of life (whatever that means), so he clearly is making his intentions very clear. However, that’s not to say he’s not a master manipulator or anything of the sorts, he can be very subtle when he wants to be!

With Hangyon, he relies on his friendliness and eccentricity to lure people in, with Merold, he relies on his cuteness and friendliness to lure people in, but with Pikero he doesn’t have to do all that, he doesn’t have to put a facade on or put a mask on to lure in people, because people just naturally come to him.

Like most people know or have heard that they shouldn’t be involved with him, but he’s so polite, so calm, so smart, what could possibly go wrong?

It’s the Vyn Ricther affect, where you know you he’s bad news and know you shouldn’t get so close with him, but there’s something about him that draws you in, and peeks your curiosity.

WHB AU thoughts:

MC in this AU will be called Raon

In this AU. Minhyeok and Raon used to have a co-dependent friendship due to Raon losing her parents at a young age and being taken in by Minhyeok's family. Minhyeok coddles Raon and their relationship becomes toxic which leads to them having a massive argument, causing them to not speak for four years after high school. When they meet again, Minhyeok helps Raon move out and they start to rebuild their relationship. However, their relationship is still awkward and they both have their own issues to work through. During a visit, as canon Gabriel appears, and Minhyeok saves Raon, dies before getting revived by Satan. This time instead of seeing Minhyeok as a brother/caretaker, Raon actually loves Minhyeok romantically and shares a genuine bond with him that other devils can't have, both trying to go back to him and considering the temptation of having everything she wants on the silver platter. Minhyeok still helps her as he did in the game but he thinks about letting Raon stay in Hell, not that he doesn't love her but he knows his own limits, and from what Ppyong told him, Raon seems doing fine, and has everything she wants there. He wants to have her back but is just waiting for the predictable result and letting himself hurt again.

Exploring the concept of temptation, deterrent, and consequences in the future for Raon

She is not a good person or a good friend at the beginning so her going to Hell and fighting against angels is sort of like a redemption arc of sorts, while also rebuilding back of the relationships she lost.

Probably will have different endings for this.

Barbatos, Eligos - most likely

Less likely BUT if there's gonna be more than 2: Buer, and anyone else from Paradise Lost or Tartaros.

We're currently in Tartaros but Buer can invite another PL healer to come over

I'm starting to think the more our combined theories of Barbatos being next for the h-scene the more we're going to get him lol. I do think we could get Eligos but I wonder how that's gonna segway with the chapters....at no point has our sweet devil with an appetite shown up so far in the main story....hmmm

I do wanna see how the healers get down though...Buer being a former Tartaros resident seems most appropriate. I feel he'd take extra care with MC. Also...the cgs??? We've gotten partially naked sprite Barb, now we'll see him naked again in the cg, naked Eligos?? he probably has more bow tattoos, and naked Buer??? yeah I can wait and while I wait I shall imagine.

This Mammon, as all Mammons before him, is an ass man. And it seems he enjoys sharing his own assets too.

Judging from some of the preview art, Mammon might also enjoy being a good little pet 👀

The mention of compulsive hoarding syndrome seems slightly at odds with his personality below, but is certainly in keeping with the sin of greed.

Generally speaking, Mammon has no associated month but the most likely would be December due to his links with Saturn.

But if we consider the date format MM/DD, is it any wonder the king of butts has his birthday on 69? 😏

Personality

The classical Mammon is a demon whose name is synonymous with money, wealth, and greed. Consequently, he is often depicted as miserly or careless with money, in jealous pursuit of wealth or get rich quick schemes, and invoked for favours of luck or good fortune.

WHB Mammon takes a rather different approach.

Rather than harbouring greed for all the riches of the world, this Mammon expresses no envy or jealousy for anyone or anywhere's amassed wealth, because he believes it all already belongs to him.

It's hard to fault his logic though considering the fact that wherever he walks, gold and treasure are left in a trail from his golden feet, allowing him to make truly colossal wealth by doing the bare feet minimum.

Talent or treasure that is found anywhere has clearly been placed there by he himself, and he doesn't have to question this because it must be true.

It is therefore it's his ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

As a result, he is a benevolent ruler with a generous heart - a strange turn of events for the ruler of Greed, but one that perhaps strikes a familiar chord with players of Obey Me.

It is however said that if he encounters an enemy he doesn't 'need' he obliterates them from existence.

The same treasure that his feet create can be wielded as weapons, giant golden fists rising from the ground to smack an angel back to the heavens. A warrior fallen angel, a common motif for Mammon.

Aesthetics

As with Obey Me, the seven deadly sins are here each represented by the same seven demons, and for Greed that is Mammon.

This Mammon is unlike most portrayals of the infamous demon, though the gold horns are perhaps most familiar. He also has yellow eyes, another nod to gold (and indeed OM Mammon has some yellow in his), and his literally golden gold-generating feet.

His dark hair is an unusual choice, stark against his skin. (Mammon is generally depicted with light hair, even white or without colour.)

If we look back at some of the influences on the original Mammon, we can see that Plutus, the Greek god of wealth, is portrayed as often with dark hair as he is light, though the former may be due to historical conflation with a later name of the god Hades - Pluto.

[Plutus may be a god, but as his fable with Heracles/Hercules goes, he is the one god that the demigod refuses to meet, because the hero hates him.

Why? Because in a world where wealth is accumulated by those most evil, while the good are left to struggle in poverty, a god of wealth must indeed be a demon in their midst 👀]

Overall, gold and black is a predictable but accurate thematic choice for Mammon, invoking symbolism of royalty, elegance, and refinement as well as both joy and warning.

Like Satan he sports an inverted cross on the centre of his forehead, though his is thick and bold compared to Satan's slender symbol.

In the outfits we've seen so far, he is often bare chested, wearing a long black and gold robe pushed back off his shoulders, black pants that end in gold, arm bracers of the same, gold and silver rings on his right hand, sharp golden claws on his left, and sometimes bandaging on an arm and his torso.

The rings are befitting a magpie prince of Greed, and the golden claws are an excellent dangerous touch along with the bandages (and golden weaponry) suggesting he is very much a demon of action.

A black skintight neckpiece covers his entire neck and décolleté, ending in a large ornate black cross nestled in his generous bosom.

And that is perhaps highlighting what is the most noticeable physical attribute of this Mammon and perhaps unintentionally so...

Man has one tiny head and one gigantic set of shoulders 👀

His chest is huge, which is more than fine, demons get to have big booba, but the shoulders are of truly sattou0 worthy proportions.

Perhaps the neckpiece has squeezed his head to be smaller...

(Funnily enough, he shares both statement neckpiece and massive tiddies with the Mammon of 7 Mortal Sins.)

Ribbing aside, the horns are his actual standout feature, particularly with one of them appearing to have been broken off - in a fight? Payment? By that neck piece? Another sign of his warrior status perhaps.

And given the function of horns in WHB, is his one horn pulling double time or is he cursed with half as good experiences, or maybe a premature effusion...?

Going back to those early influences, Mammon is cognate in name with a being in Arabian mythology known as Maymun. And that being is said to be broad chested, have muscular arms, and is adorned in gold bracers, armbands, and collar 👀

He is also, as is Plutus, winged, whether in gold or black, and as well as ruler, close to the highest ruler of all over the underworld. His colours are black and gold, the same as this Mammon.

Finally, he has large horns, and his many descriptions include 'the executioner'.

The aesthetics then do very much fit a warrior and lethal force, as well as representing the corruption of all by way of wealth.

My Rating

Again I will confess my bias upfront - this was always going to be the demon I'd judge most critically, as Mammon in Obey Me is by far my favourite fictional demon of all time.

From his origins to his personality to everything about him, I adore that demon.

So I'd take my opinion here with a huge pinch of salt for that reason alone - this ain't my Mams.

(That being said, I was equally critical of WHB Satan and my favourable rating for him can be seen here.)

But yeah, I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of this Mammon at all, which isn't helped by the fact that feet are my biggest squick and his are right there xD

For personality though, I do like this take on the ruler of Greed, as it's quite a novel approach and allows for a far more laid back version of the demon, as well as leaving room for an interpretation of another sin (coming soon!) that I think has great merit. And as mentioned above, I do think his particular interests are fitting.

Most links between Mammon and Tartarus are tenuous at best, with the former often used to mean the sin of greed or object of money, and the latter a standard translation for many of the words used for the underworld/hell.

That said, Tartarus is the destination of choice for fallen angels as included in Paradise Lost, which in my view has one of the most favourable classic depictions of Mammon - one who seizes the opportunity of falling, and presses ahead to build a city of dazzling splendor for the fallen to reside within in hell.

I'll dig more into Tartarus in another blog, but it is all round a good choice for Mammon, and aligns well with this interpretation of his character.

Sorry to his fans on this one, but while I like a lot of the individual aspects of his looks, I'm just not a big fan of this guy's overall design.

The concept of whoever getting MC becomes Demon King, I actually read that in a manga released around 10 years ago.

The MC in that story is also King Solomon’s descendant (and also his reincarnation). He has the responsibility to choose a temporary demon king while Lucifer goes into slumber for 100 years (in that manga universe, demons do that once in a while to prolong their life). But since Lucifer’s too old, that particular sleep is predicted to be his last and he will never wake up from that sleep again, turning to dust forever so whoever MC chooses gets to be permanent Demon King and chaos ensues, demon factions trying to capture MC to choose their candidates to be the next King. What worse is that angels also has eyes on MC (in fact Michael sent Uriel to be MC’s butler since he was born to keep an eye on him).

If know the name of the manga I would like to read it.

And just so funny that comparing both games.
