Pantalone holds you by the waist tenderly, you on the verge of tears. The Harbinger's heart hurts to see you like this: you were always strong and firm, yet a joy to be around. You were fun to tease, and a good sport, which is what attracted him to you. However, this was all because of The Fair Lady: Lady Signora. When you first joined, you were completely different, but she moulded you to become a person of elegance and great strength, so you naturally became the Tsaritsa's favourite: the Tertia Rosa. Signora was your everything, had a deeper place in your heart than even your rich boyfriend. She was your first companion, the first to see you cry and the first to cheer you up. You were her everything, her confidante, her best friend, she vowed to be your older sister. Now you were crying because of her. Oh to be a confidante, you were supposed to trust and embrace each other, never to be the cause of the other's woes.

Poor Pantalone, all through the funeral he could see you were struggling, and through the sealing of Zapolyarny Palace you were practically crying, although tears didn't spill from your eyes. He went out to buy you gifts upon gifts, untied his hair to let you play with it, exchanged coats with you, got you a fluffier one, wiped your tears yet none of his actions seemed to affect you like Signora's did. You lay on your giant, king-sized bed in your mansion, eyes dull and glossy. You couldn't cry. Your boyfriend sat at your bedside with Arlecchino, who'd had a crush on you for quite some time now, but couldn't do anything but look jealously at you and Pantalone together. She could comfortably you wayy better than him. Who cheers a person up with gifts when you have physical affection to show??? Oh to be a confidante, others can replicate your affections and persona, yet they can never be them.

The Knave and Regrator watched with wide eyes as you obliterated Childe. You took out every single gram of your anger onto the ginger, every ounce of pain and anguish. You pretended he was the Shogun, your best friend's killer. She would be crushed like a bug, you made sure of it. You wielded your visions gracefully yet ruthlessly and with brutal strength. Childe might as well've been dead, because you were relentlessly dicing up his body as if he were onions, or apples for a small child to eat. (Pun intended). Oh to be a confidante, the things that you promise and vow to keep and never share to the world may be so deadly, one may commit suicide for the other.

You miss The Fair Lady. You miss Signora. You miss Rosalyne.

How'd you come up with your mooninite human designs? They're my favorites out of all the other ones and I'm obsessed with how you draw them

To start this off, I need to say I was HELLA inspired by angryalice's and payapayaso's human designs for the both of them, so I admit that they aren't really original design wise.

BUT, I liked the suit idea but wanted something that was both fancy but sporty-like, so I got a look that's similar to Adidas sportwear with the side line and logo similar to Champion's (which in their uniform is simply a crescent moon with their skin color to fill it up).

The uniform is the same for all mooninites; the only thing that makes them unique is the color that resembles the wearer's one and personalized accessories! In Ig's case it's the cape (which symbolizes his superiority complex) and for Err is the collar/bracelets/piercings (that symbolize his rebel and aggressive personality).

Their hair of course resembles both of their horn's shape!

At first, my Ignignokt design was wayy skinnier and less hairy but with time I've realized that the opposite really fitted him! About Err though, I didn't change much about him but I did make his hair fluffier and his ahoge longer (which ironically resembled his only horn better in my opinion).

I really appreciate receiving this ask because I never had a good opportunity to explain my design choices for them, so thank you so much!

I'm also incredibly flattered that you like my designs best, but I honestly think there are some designs here that are really wayy more fitting for them but that's just me!

Hi, I just found your blog, and I wanted to ask what exactly /are/ glowans?

Glowans are my Homestuck fanspecies, first created way back in 2011. So it was originally created to fit within the boundaries of a HS ‘verse. They’re humanoid like trolls and cherubs, and all that good stuff. 

 As for what they are, I guess the most accurate classification would be.. uh. Alien. Yeah, there’s really no earth animal classification that would suit them, they’re aliens from another world, why should they?

It’s kinda part of the fun, really. Figuring out a whole new type of creature that I haven’t really seen elsewhere.

Disclaimer, I’m no biologist, but from what I learned from reading animal books as a kid, I could tell you this: 

 - They’re not mammals. There is no breastfeeding (and no live birth either, though I know there are a few real mammals that are exceptions to that rule (platypuses lay eggs, for example, and then there are those pouch mammals like kangaroos and w/e)), and honestly, thinking about that, their bodies should be way more androgynous looking, but past me did not really think that through. Past me was more like, “oh, homestuck has humanoid aliens, they still look somewhat human except for some details”. smh 

 - They’re not reptiles. I may not know as much about reptile classifications off the top of my head, but their skin isn’t quite scaly, and they’re not coldblooded. (as in depending on the environment to stay warm and in motion, not in the commonly-used metaphorical sense). They’re also way fluffier than any reptiles I know of. (Unless dragons count as reptiles. Then again, those aren’t real, unfortunately)

 However, eggs are a thing for glowans, and said eggs tend to be soft when there’s a baby (or twins) inside, and said babies are able to break out of them with a “baby tooth”, which in their case is really a tiny tail blade that falls off and starts getting replaced by the orb when they’re done with it. I guess some reptiles are like that, minus the whole tail-egg part. After all, I might have still taken /some/ inspiration from it. 

The sister species made by my friend does the whole crocodile thing in which the egg temperature determines the sex of the hatchling, so. shrug

 - Not amphibians either. They don’t really live life in the water at all. In fact, the seas of Avinara kinda terrify them. And they don’t really have any means to breathe underwater.. 

- They’re not fish either, no gills whatsoever. They obviously don’t lay huge clusters of eggs at once. For that matter, they’re not like any spineless animal like octopi and similar things either, as they do have a spine, as well as the rest of the skeleton. So yes, glowans do have skeletons. In case anyone were wondering about that.

 - As much as I love birds, they’re not birds either. No feathers, no beak, none of the other birdy stuff, besides eggs probably. Also no flight, but there are some excellent birds out there that also cannot fly (ahEM, PENGUINS. also ostriches and kiwis i guess) so the flying thing isn’t a valid argument for birdyness. 

Fun fact: At some point during their development I thought glowans should have angel wings upon god-tiering, but they weren’t nearly bird-like enough otherwise, so I decided against it and went for shape-changing glowy wings instead. It suits them better.

 - Some of you may have been calling them bugs, I’m honestly not sure if that’s applicable either, but who knows, I’m not a bug expert. I wouldn’t call them bugs personally, even if they have antennae (which they reproduce with??) and bio-luminescence. Do multiple pupils add bug points? Probably.

Also, most bugs have exoskeletons, and six legs, which glowans most definitely don’t have. They don’t even have a larval stage. They’re hatched tiny and humanoid, unlike trolls, who are wayy more insectoid in their life cycle.

So uh. Yeah. They’re aliens. Aliens that transmit genetics between external doodads (antennae in their case) and grow an egg on their tail-tips. I’m sure there might have been more creatures like that on Lumos, the planet they came from. Right? Probably.
