Who enjoys Valentine's Day the most in the Faeformers AU?

Hmmm, that’s a good question... (And a perfect excuse to plug some old faeformers valentine’s I drew awhile back)

I can think of a few who would enjoy it for various reasons.  Swerve, for example, loves humans and their culture so he would be totally excited to learn about the day human’s use to celebrate love.  He probably bugs June and Jack with a million and one questions until they both feel like hiding behind the nearest source of cover whenever he comes near.

The ones in current relationships, while not necessarily interested in human holidays, will still relish the opportunity to connect with each other, like Tailgate who uses the day as an excuse to be extra cuddly with Cyclonus.  Or in worse cases, like Optimus and Elita’s ever rocky relationship, it’s a day to step back and remember the good times and drop their guard a little (or a lot depending on how the night goes...)

Whirl pretends he doesn’t care about silly human holidays (he does) but is immediately interested in the interest of exchanging gifts, so he works extra hard for a full week to craft something extra special and beautiful (merely for practice of course).  Oh, and June!  You’re a human, right?  You like these stupid holidays and the like right?  Well, here, he made you a little something.  It’s not a big deal, he just felt like making it alright?  He had extra time on his claws and- no please don’t look at him like that, it’s very disarming.  He has to go now.  Goodbye forever!  Please don’t speak to him again!!

Evening! Today I did manage to make these wonderful sketches, and you have no idea how much love I put into them.

Alexis (Oh my God, she came out so cute), Elita (I never thought that one day I would draw her), Tarn (very hooked on the appearance of an owl), Steve (the sweetest thing I've ever drawn, I fell in love with this face) and Whirl, which turned out to be not very good to put it mildly...

@zenxenophilia, you have no idea how much this universe has sunk into my soul. Faeformers is a really interesting world.

In General, to draw them, I had to look through all the blog entries, and by the end I was barely able to think, heh... (in fact, I spent all night on this qwq)

But! It was definitely worth it, and now I understand most of it and fall more and more in love with each storyline every day.

Although, given my level of English, I couldn't understand much (and the translator clearly decided that he didn't have to translate correctly), and, um... I have a tiny request: can you publish something like a short guide to your universe? I would be happy to see such a thing❤

In General, I would also like to say that I really like your work, and I really like everything.

Heh, in fact, you inspired me to finish my fan fiction (I'm writing about transformers from TF:Armada) and finish the covers that I couldn't start for a few weeks.

The blog you have here is really quite intriguing and I’m excited to see what happens next and how the reader returns to the forest. I was also wondering if you could specify what types of fae that Rung and Whirl are?

Rung doesn’t exactly have a form or look. He’s a whisper in the wind. Someone you feel is there and you know but can’t see. You’re comforted by his presence not scared. You tell him your secrets and in exchange he keeps you’re worries and sends you off with happy emotions. He’s a feeling but in his more human form when humans need a hug or a helping hand he’s a man with a smile that breaks any of you’re mental walls and lets you trust him with your worries instead of holding them in.

He wears all orange bright giant petals that are warm and welcoming like him. He’ll hold you close bright blue eyes comforting like an open sky as he hums quietly to calm any human mind he talks to. When you wake up he’s just a faint memory his name almost disappearing but he’s okay with that. As long as you’re better he’s always happy and he’ll always be in the open fields if you need him again. He’s always waiting.

Whirl is rougher on the edges. He kind of looks like a wendigo with his skull for a face but it’s a birds rather than a cattles and he only has one eye witch is gold and can peer through you’re soul. He’s fine as long as you don’t stare into his eye for to long or insult him. He’s an instigator cause he likes to fight so he’ll try and twist you’re words but if you’re as stubborn as him you’re fine. He likes someones who’s tough and will give you little trinkets if you prove yourself to him.

Speaking of trinkets got anything shiny on you? He likes shiny things and makes things out of them. Cool looking bracelets. Weird but pretty watches. Sculptures made out of found human stuff. He flies around and swoops down like a raptor to pick up shiny things and add them to his collection. He may have a problem but he’s a good birdy that once you earn his trust it’s yours forever just keep bringing him stuff for his collection yeah?

Hello, I found out about this lovely AU of yours a while ago and as much as I find fae Tarn’s design to be handsome, Whirl is my favorite feathery fae. XD I would be more than happy to serve as a mom-friend to him if he’s okay with it. I also hope that you’re doing well and having a lovely day, night etc. P.S. I’m sure that I would even find his long squawking string of swears to be majestic.

Whirl would definitely be a very loyal friend.  He’d love having someone around that cares for him and that genuinely enjoys his company.  There’s not many who he can claim to be his friend, but those that are he treasures more than gold.

I mainly have the faeformer AU in mind for this ask: which characters would be intrigued by a human who creates jewellery? I mean pretty much any kind of jewellery; glass beads (or any kinds of beads really), pearls (merformer AU possibilities?), wire wrapping, gold smithing, gemstone cutting, etc.? Though I imagine that cybertronians in regular AUs would find the detailed work of humans very interesting too. Like how well-made fabric is rare on Cybertron?

Oooh, interesting!  XD  There are definitely a few faes who would be fascinated with the process of jewelry making, whether it be for the appreciation of the craft itself or for vanity reasons.

While most of the Spring Court is interested in crafting and other creative pursuits, Whirl, Nautica, and Mirage are particularly fascinated by your talents.  

Whirl, for all of his bravado and his violent tenancies, has the soul of a true artist.  He loves to watch your hands as they deftly string multiple beads together on a cord or twist bits of metal to their desired shape.  Whirl actually is a bit of a craftsman himself, even though his hands aren’t as dexterous as yours or his fellow court mates.  He might even show you a few of his own creations someday.

Mirage is less entranced by the act of making jewelry and more interested in the results.  Making him something unique and elegant that really sets of his features is a surefire way to get on his good side.  He’s not shy about giving credit either.  He’ll brag about your talents and your amazing jewelry to anyone who will listen (hope you’re prepared to take commissions.)

Nautica is somewhere in between.  She loves watching you work and appreciates the thought behind your artistry, but she’s not going to turn down anything you decide to give her either, particularly if it matches her eyes.

Ratchet, being a dwarf, has metal working in his blood.  He’s the best goldsmith the Spring Court has had in several thousand years, so it’s only natural that he would be drawn to some one who shared his love of crafting, in fact, he’ll probably be glad to teach you a thing or two if you ask.  It’s not long before you two form something of a mentor/student relationship.  Ratchet may be an old grump, but it’s obvious that he has a major soft spot for you.

Swindle has no love of artistry or the passion that goes into a particuarly fine piece.  He’s solely interested in items of value, particularly if they’re shiny.  If you ever find yourself wandering lost and alone in the woods, without the protection of the courts, Swindle will show you the way back, for a price.  It’s always a good idea to keep a few gold trinkets on hand for times like these, but be careful.  If Swindle learns about your talents, he might not hesitate to kidnap you so you can continue to make beautiful things for him.

Getaway likes to pretend that he’s interested in your creative process, but he always ends up getting bored and curling up for a nap halfway through.  (He has a terribly short attention span.)  He does love all things shiny, however.  Make him something he can wear and he’ll be your best friend forever.  Or, at least for a week.

Starscream thinks very highly of your jewelry making abilities, mostly because it means that he gets to wear the finished results.  He’ll ask you to make him several crowns to commemorate his position as new king of the Autumn Court.  Be warned though, Starscream is a perfectionist and won’t settle for anything less than the best.  He find something wrong with nearly everything you show him.  While this might seem frustrating at first, you quickly learn that Starscream general just likes being disagreeable.  The next time he tells you that the spikes on his crown are too tall, simply nod but don’t do anything to fix it.  After about an hour or so, simply show him the same crown again, and he’ll declare it satisfactory,  guaranteed  

Predaking is a dragon.  Dragons like jewels.  You see the connection here, yes?

Faeformers Au:  The Courts

I’ve gotten a bunch of requests asking about where certain characters fall in the faeformers au, so I decided to make a list.  Many thanks to my bro, @fugoh for telling me about the different faerie courts.  

Seelie Court:  Usually benevolent, these faeformers are the most likely to interact with humans, often out of personal curiosity or a sense of mischief.  They adhere to the laws of the fae (for the most part) so they are relatively trustworthy, and are far more sociable with one another than their Unseelie cousins.  Seelie faeformers can also be extremely helpful to those they deem worthy, or that have placated them with offerings.  They may even choose to guard a particular human or household or impart some sort of wisdom or gift to them.  The Seelie Court is comprised of both the Summer and Spring Courts.

Summer Court:  Vivacious, playful, mischievous, and extremely curious, these faeformers have a habit of meddling in the lives of mortals, for better or worse.  They are exceptionally fond of parties, and tend to throw one every night of the week during the summer months.  However these parties are often extremely dangerous for passing mortals, as they are likely to become trapped in the fae world forever if they’re not careful.  The Summer Court is split between its two rulers, Optimus and Elita.  At one point, the two of them ruled happily together as a couple, but over the years their different approaches to fae politics eventually created a rift between them.  Seelie of the Summer Court are either loyal to Optimus or Elita and tend not to interact with members of the other side for the most part, until one of their many feasts, that is.

Spring Court:  Quiet, creative, individualistic, and peaceful, these faeformers are more aloof than their Summer Court counterparts and tend to mostly keep to themselves, unless they are sought out by humans.  They are considered to be master craftsmen and musicians, often preforming for the other courts during dances or plying their trade among other faeformers.  If a human wanted to learn from these creatures, and had followed all the required steps, one of the Spring Court would gladly teach them their craft.  They tend to favor human poets, storytellers and musicians, often luring one into their realm to entertain them for an evening, after which the human would be showered with gifts and sent safely on their way.  The Spring Court is ruled by the wise and benevolent Ultra Magnus.  He’s said to be extremely observant of the faerie rules and can come across as a bit stern, but he has the soul of a true artist and is known for his gracious hospitality towards his human guests.

Unseelie Court:  These are the creatures of legend that mothers use to scare children into obedience.  They are cold, cunning, malevolent, and not at all fond of humans wandering into their realm.  They don’t hold themselves to the laws as tightly as the seelie do, and are much more likely to manipulate the truth and deceive people.  They are said to have very powerful magic and are willing to preform deeds that the Seelie Court shy away from.  If you get it in your head to bargain with them for whatever reason, don’t.  Whatever it is you think you want or need, it is not worth the risk.  These faeformers will play you like a Fossegrim’s violin and will take far more from you than you’d ever be willing to give.  Not all of them are outright hostile however as some merely prefer to be left alone.  It may be possible for you to get out of a jam by outsmarting them, or amusing them in some way.  (They’re very fond of riddles.)  The Unseelie Court is comprised of the Winter and Autumn Courts.

Winter Court:  Solitary, severe, and unrelenting, these fae are the most dangerous of all the faeformer courts.  They consider humans to be little more than insects, and have no qualms about killing (or in some cases, devouring) any that dare step foot inside their territory.  They are untrusting, even of each other, often scheming behind one another’s back and forming alliances to claw their way up the social ladder.  Ruled by the equally feared and respected Lord Megatron, he is the sole reason the Winter Court has not torn each other apart yet.  Unsurprisingly, they are not fond of the Seelie, but tend to retain a respectful (or disdainful) distance (though some suspect this has more to do with their leader’s apparent fixation on the king of the Summer Court, Optimus.)

Autumn Court:  Proud, independent, clever, and inquisitive, these faeformers like their privacy and tend to avoid unnecessary confrontation.  While they’re not overly fond of humans or Seelie, they are not openly hostile towards them either.  This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t approach one without extreme caution however, as they can still be extremely dangerous.  They are said to be very wise and some have the ability to read the stars to predict the future.  (They might even divine yours for you for a price, though take care of how they chose to interpret it.)  They are however, exceptionally vain for the most part and can be won over somewhat with flattery, gifts, and offerings if you ever find yourself in a bind or simply need their advice.  They also love stories and songs, and have been known to stalk humans from a distance that they hear singing to themselves or sharing campfire tales.  The Autumn Court was at one point ruled by a fae called Metalhawk, but is now under the control of Starcream, a former Winter Court member who struck out on his own and killed Metalhawk to ascend the Autumn throne.  Despite his violent and unconventional start, Starscream for the most part keeps his realm safe and protected, particularity from the enraged Megatron.

The Courtless:  These faeformers follow no ruler and prefer not to get involved in the petty squabbles of the courts.  The are the wildcards, the roguish outlaws, the bloodthirsty hunters, the charming drifters, and the savage beasts.  Often looked down upon by court adhering fae, the Courtless aren’t bond by the same laws as the others, meaning that they can be extremely dangerous under the right circumstances.  While there are more malevolent Courtless faeformers out there, many of them are fond of mortals, sometimes even going so far as to disguise themselves as humans to get a closer look.  It’s always best to carry some sort of protection on you when dealing with them however, no matter how friendly they may seem.

Shadow Court:  Very little is known about these creatures, though it’s said that even the Winter Court avoid them at all costs.  They are the stuff of legends, beings of nightmare and shadow, lurking on the edge of the fae realm but never fully a part of it.  The have no allegiance to anyone and obey no laws.  No human has ever met one of these beings face to face and lived to tell about it, though people who have gone into the woods late at night tell tales of a strange, haunting voice that seems to call out from the shadows, inviting them to stray off the path.
