—==— I have a film debuting at the @SFdancefilmfestival this weekend! If you’re in the Bay go see it!! . This past summer I had the great honor of collaborating on a film with some phenomenally talented humans for a residency with @sfdancefilmfest & @nccakron . It’s an intense film that looks at vulnerable subjects like depression and self-annihilation and how we might move into peace and self-liberation through tenderness and intimacy . It is one of the most challengingly honest pieces I have made and I’m very proud of it. . Slow but steady progress! After I get the final pieces (ride cymbal, ride cymbal stand, & throne), I will start replacing the drum heads and maybe even further down the line, rewrap them. Fun fact: 15 years ago I played bass in an alt rock band called Captain & Tennille Overdrive or CTO, for short, and we rocked. Anyways, around that time we were at the Willard, Ohio Goodwill and I found this LP from our namesake and had to buy it. Last weekend, I was going through some old boxes of stuff at my parent's and found it. Too bad, as a band, we only recorded the two songs and played only a hand full of shows. Such is life, though. Thinking about CTO does make me look forward to being in a band again. The tension rod and the legs both came today! The combined cost for the drum, the new batter head, the tension rod and the legs was $56, which is not bad. It took a lot of polishing, but much of the rust and grime came off. The other day I found out that I won a raffle prize on Earhquaker Day, which is unusual because I never win anything. The prize is half off a recording session at Akron Recording Company!
